So much crust space from lack of cheese and sauce. Not worth $25. Also when I got home, noticed that they forgot to include parm and pepper packets when I had checked those boxes on the online order form. I should've gone to nearby Lou Malnati's. My first visit to a Giordano's was 4 days ago in Schaumburg. I went with two friends (senior citizens out for a leisurely lunch) and we had good food and a very friendly and helpful waitress, Pat. I asked about flavored ice tea, but as they only have the regular plain tea, Pat said she could make me an Arnold Palmer, which is a huge favorite of mine (and what she made was delicious!).'' Good vibes, no booths though because of a party. And our waiter, decline to say his name, either couldn't understand us because of whatever reason. We were loud and clear and even if we had a southern accent which wasn't much... "y'all" talk.. we had no problem communicating. That was a lot of the problem. They ran out of Rosé.. during dinner time.... the iced tea/sweet tea tasted like dirty water, aka no sugar whatsoever... even with all the sugar/Splenda packets ... everything was not satisfied only to have another glass served exactly the same and lack of hearing. The one glass of wine was too sweet. But served nicely. Garlic bread was gone in 2 seconds.. it was that good and we were that hungry. He was in point with delivering refills. But .. when it came to giving our tab he was way to quick .. to pick up and go. Makes you think that's a stereotype of Chicago. Or he was in purpose doing the lack of hearing which got on our nerves. This is by far the best Pizza I've had in the Chicago area. Actually the best Pizza I've had by far. The ' Chicago deep dish style' crust is very different from your run of the mill pizza . I'm not a huge Pizza eater, but I noticed the frequent deliveries at the Hotel I was staying in Schaumburg IL, a suburb of this city. I decided to try it along with some co-workers , and it was good. You can create your own , a lot of flexibility along with their standard offerings. We did take out , ( just a short walk in the cold ), but it was worth it. Very filling. A medium size ( 14 '' ) served all three of us, and we were filled . $30 with tip, with 4 toppings including a veggie portion. Highly recommended, if you are ever in the Schaumburg area. We got the build your own deep dish. A medium was too much for the 2 of us. It was easily the most perfectly baked deep dish we've ever had since we were actually able to pick up slices and eat them like a normal pizza, without it being a soupy mess requiring a fork. BUT, i ordered plates and silverware since we were in a hotel, and they forgot them. If you put it as an option on your own website, pay attention. Cause we had to cut up the lid to use as awkward tiny plates, no napkins, and that meant how are we supposed to store leftovers without a whole box?! So we waited til morning, when it had cooled, folded the bottom of the box over the top, and put it in the plastic laundry bag that's always in the closet. read more

Well, as you can see by many of the reviews, it's not all that great. I've been here three times since 2020. Pizza is good, but the crust and herbs are better at Malnati's. This place is more comfortable than Malnati's, but you ask for VERY easy cheese and they never remember to do it, so you have to remove it yourself. They forget to refill your drinks, bring napkins, salad, etc. So basically I tip them so that I serve myself most of the evening and yes, as I re all the manager does nothing but take up space. read more

Deep dish pizza holds a special place in my heart. It's cheesy and decadent, unlike anything I'd ever had back home in Texas. Anytime we have plans to visit Chicago, we always know pizza will be our first meal there. There are many pizza chains in Chicagoland, but Giordano's is my favorite simply because the more cheese to sauce ratio is what I prefer. Lou's I find to be more saucy, Gino's bland, and Pequod's better for thin crust as opposed to the traditional Chicago deep dish. You can order Giordano's pizza online too which I plan to try someday. One of our friends told us that if you use a liberal coating of olive oil on the bottom of the pan you bake it in, the flavors come out almost identical. This location in Schaumburg is fairly new and very spacious. Plenty of comfy booths and ample free parking in their private lot. The pizzas take 40 minutes or so to bake, so I recommend knowing what you want ahead of time. That way you can place your order with your server at the same time you get your drinks. A small deep dish for two people is usually more than enough food. We always end up with leftovers because I can't eat more than two slices in a sitting. (I even remove the crusts to save my appetite for the middle since that's where all the glorious melty cheese is). We also like to start with their bruschetta because it's really delicious. It has mounds of seasoned tomatoes and fresh mozzarella on top of crusty bread. They then drizzle it with a balsamic vinaigrette and finish with a sprinkle of basil. Our favorite topping combination is pepperoni, fresh garlic, and jalapeño. It's the perfect blend of savory, spicy, and salty in each bite. They have decently priced lunch specials also, but I'm assuming for those you can't custom pick the toppings since they are probably baked ahead of time to get people out the door and back to the office in an hour. Same thing goes with their online pies which you can only get in their top selling flavors. We've never had a bad experience at Giordano's and it's always the perfect place to have great food and catch up with friends. Just make sure to pack your stretchy pants. read more

One star is too generous. Yelp needs to provide an option to select 0 stars. Let me clarify why. After a hard day of work, myself and three of my colleagues decided to go and eat here, and we were looking forward to it by the way. We arrived at 8:45 pm and were told by the hostess that the kitchen was closing, and that they would not be able to serve us. Never have we went to a restaurant that refused us service before closing time. Update your closing time if this is the case, to indicate you will refuse service 15 minutes prior to closing. Driving out of our way to go to your restaurant only to find out you won't serve us before closing time is completely unacceptable. Giordano's will not be a place we recommend to friends, family, or our customers due to this experience. We will gladly take our business elsewhere. read more

NO GLUTEN-FREE DEEP DISH AT THIS OUTLET. There is nothing that I can say that others have not said. Giordano's is a long time favorite in Chicagoland. But, none of the franchise locations compare to the original on Rush Street. If your goal is to experience Giordano's, go there. This location is not bad. It just isn't the same. Omg - so sad. Our super veggie deep dish was burned/overcooked making for a hard cheese, cabbage like taste and a burnt aftertaste in your mouth you only wish you had from a bbq, not a pizza. I have eaten at many Giordonos this is the worst. New Years Eve I placed a order for delivery about 40 dollars arrived after two hours pizza stuck to carton and ice cold. Manager had given me. 20 dollar credit. I tried again yesterday. Only to receive a salad all watered down not the salad Zi ordered pizza ice cold and no Parmesan cheese or red pepper. A pizza and pasta place that doesn't carry the pasta they advertise. Ordered spaghetti was given the option to make it gluten free, so great made it gluten free. They send a flippin tray of flippin Mostaccioli. Last time I checked Mostaccioli and Spaghetti are not the same thing!!! I literally just got off the phone with the idiots and they said they don't carry gluten free spaghetti so that's why I got Mostaccioli. So flippin post gluten free Mostaccioli NOT spaghetti with the option to make it gluten free. Apparently they can't afford to buy gluten free spaghetti - which does exist!!!! So beware if you or your little kid wants spaghetti and you decide you want gluten free, you're gonna get a damn tray of Mostaccioli instead cuz they don't know how to order gluten free spaghetti. I hung up on the guy on the phone cuz he was an a$$ who doesn't understand customer service, which is what pays his salary and keeps the restaurant open. Leaving 3 stars because tonight's pick up order was correct and cooked as expected but I'm still disappointed in the overall product. Like many I'm confused by the surcharge for shortages when the product prices are higher already. I would understand it better if my deep dish pizza was a deep dish pizza. I ordered 3 individual pizzas. When I grabbed the bag I was sure that one or more pizzas were missing because the bag was so light. When I got the pizzas home...well they are really thin crust pizzas cooked in a deep dish pan. The depth of ingredients does not go higher than half the crust side, if that much. As I said earlier, thin crust pizzas cooked in a deep dish pan. This location when it first opened was one of the best but has been declining well before the pandemic. read more

The restaurant was basically empty at noon on a Sunday and we were seated right away. We ordered beers, a beef sandwich and a deep dish pie while there and everything was excellent. Our server was super sloooooow, kept hiding and phoned in her waitressing skills that day. I don't know what her deal was but it was so annoying bcz she would come back to table like she hadn't missed a beat, but had been gone forever. We had out of town guests with us and the whole experience felt unfriendly. Not very welcoming or Chicago like. I left a light tip. Suggestion: Sell the shirts your servers wear. They are so cool! Such a shame. My husband and I have watched in horror and pity as management seemingly effortlessly runs this place to the ground. We have watched their downfall Through many failed attempts at enjoying a dining experience there. We keep coming back, silently and optimistically crossing our fingers that things will have turned around for the better, yet each and every time we are increasingly let down as customers. Truly a shame as this location used to be a family favorite. Fortunately enough, the other nearby locations are not like this one so my family and I can still enjoy our classic deep dish pizza at a neighboring location, albeit a bit of a farther distance than we'd like.
