Giorginos absolutely delivered. I got the classic Philly cheesesteak and it hit so hard, super flavorful, perfectly melty, and exactly what you want when you're craving a solid sandwich. It comes with fries and those were really good too: crispy, hot, and the perfect side. It's a little on the pricier side, but honestly worth every penny in my opinion. The quality and portions make it feel justified. Service here is always welcoming and they're quick with getting orders out. I usually order through DoorDash and select free pickup, which is super convenient because it's ready right when I get there. Easy, efficient, and consistently good. Definitely a go-to spot when I want a cheesesteak that actually satisfies.

Best Philly in San Diego. If you think those are fighting words, you're probably from the East Coast and have never been to Giorgino's. Check out this place and you'll see what I'm talking about. Softest rolls, cheeseiest pulls, most stuffed philly in town. Tender beef, customized to your liking, and always a 10 out of 10. Come hungry because you're about to get stuffed!

This is one of my favorite places to get a Philly cheese steak. I ordered the works and my girlfriend has the "mush" sandwich. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a pretty small restaurant with bar seating and a few tables here and there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Perfect dining spot for you and a few friends to grab lunch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was great and made me feel like I was one of their regulars. If there's ones thing you need to get along with your sandwich is the garlic fries. Even when I feel so full I can't eat anymore I can still manage to eat those delicious fries covered in garlic. A quick tip - pay in cash and they give you a 5% discount.

Dear diary, I came here on a Tuesday evening for early dinner and happy hour. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a cozy environment with table and bar seatings.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] For the cheesesteaks, the bread was soft and the meat was well seasoned. The garlic fries were impeccable, must try. The staff were friendly and professional. The parking is the only thing I didn't like. It's street parking only so during the busier times it will probably be harder to find parking. [[HIGHLIGHT]]P.S. there was an annoying fly flying around when I'm trying to eat my cheesesteaks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Cheese costs to add to sandwich

Very pricey, $20 without adding any cheese or veggies. They charge extra for any toppings, even tomatoes. It shouldn't cost extra to add cheese and veggies to a sandwich, that is what makes up a sandwich. And especially with how pricey it is. Tasted good, I'm a big boy so I was still hungry after, not the most filling if you're a big fella. But recommend if you don't mind the price and if you don't have big appetite. Staff were very kind also.

What respectable cheesesteak restaurant charges you extra for whiz and then doesn't add it.
    Cam M.

This is the second time ordering that they've forgotten to add Cheese Whiz to my order. How can you charge extra for something that should come standard and then forget to add it each time? [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was dead each time I went to pick up my order.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Maybe someone in the kitchen can't read. Edit: this has been a problem since 2019. YELP pulled my photo I uploaded then and added it to this review.

First time here to try their Philly cheesesteak! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Let's start with the inside of the restaurant. It is small and stuffy if I must say. I wish there was some kind of air circulation.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is outside seating if you feel too crammed in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was great and the food came out quick. We ordered the onion rings/fries basket (which doesn't come with many fries at all) The Philly cheesesteak works was really good! I would give it 5/5. On top of that they have spicy ranch sauce. We love a ranch sauce! We defiantly will come back to try other things on the menu!

Finally found a cheesesteak spot in San Diego that actually hits the spot. I lived in Philly for 3 years, so I get those cravings every now and then, and this one definitely delivered. The flavor was solid and brought me back. Their menu is pretty big too, so next time I'm definitely going to try out their sandwiches. The cashier were very friendly. Love their Customer service!

Ordered delivery a few times but decided to dine in today. The food is always amazing, the service was fast and friendly and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the establishment is straight forward mom/pops restaurant that is all about the food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Has a nice bar inside that surprised me. Big screen TV and a few beers on tap[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Ordered the works and the black and blue. Mozzarella sticks and fries - Both sandwiches were perfectly prepared with copious amounts of ingredients! A fantastic local gem with excellent food.

This is my first time actually trying their food because the last time I just bought the works and fries for my mom . Parking here is hard I had to wait for someone to leave. So I walked in and greeted immediately. I ordered 3 works one with no onion for my mom one works as is and mine I added cheese wiz and hot cherry peppers. I waited less than 10 minutes and the guy brought out the food to me in a nice bag . When I got home it looked so good and I could only eat half . The toys were crispy too . This is definitely the best Philly cheesesteak I have ever had. Next time u will go there with one of my best friends and eat there instead of to go .

Sorry to get your hopes by the picture but it looked better than it tasted..Way too much mushrooms, onions and bell peppers...More vegetables than meat...I had not been in a long time because I was disappointed that the meat was so finely chopped...but I was in the area so I stopped in as soon as it opened and wasted my money..Will not be returning.

*This was a delivery order* Wanted a cheesesteak so I ordered delivery from this restaurant. Man, it was really yummy. I got the works cheesesteak and an order of the cheese sticks. Both were so good. The cheesesteak was warm and the cheese was melted and gooey and the roll was soft. The cheese sticks were good too. I would definitely order from here again.

We ordered 1 standard and 1 mush... should have shared these cheese steak sandwiches are enough for 2. Both Beef. Good flavor except for The garlic. It's crushed from a jar. Otherwise I would give them a 4.5

This is probably the longest overdue review I have ever written, but at this point, not writing it…read morealmost feels selfish because I would very much like to always be able to get a table here. But alas, Carbon Angela's Kitchen deserves every flower, every reservation, every "you have to try this place" text thread, and every bit of love. This place has become one of my absolute favorite hidden gems in San Diego. Easily top five for me, and as someone who dines out a lot for a living, that is not a casual statement. There are places you like, places you recommend, and then there are places that start to feel woven into your actual life. Carbon Angela's Kitchen is that for me. Angela is truly the heart of this place. She has this way of making you feel like you are not just coming in for dinner, but being welcomed into something she deeply cares about. And Emanuele is absolutely part of that magic too. Together, they have built something that feels warm, generous, soulful, and so special. They feel like long-lost friends and family now, and I am honestly just so proud of them and all they are creating. The food is the kind that makes you want to order with the whole table in mind. The griglia mista is hands down one of the best investments you can make if you are dining with a group. It is the meat platter, it is the moment, and it is absolutely worth ordering. Four to five people can split it, especially if you are also doing appetizers, salad, wine, and a few extra things for the table. It is such a perfect nod to what Carbon was before Angela took over, when the space leaned more BBQ, but now it feels beautifully married with Angela's warmth, Italian influence, and the kind of hospitality that makes the whole meal feel like an experience. And please do not sleep on the rest of the menu. The short rib is fire. The arancino trio is always a yes. The eggplant croquette? Obsessed. The crespelle? So good. The Everything Salad is my favorite salad on the menu, and the street corn should never, under any circumstances, be skipped. I said what I said. The wine selection is top tier, the appetizers are memorable, and the whole place has that rare magic of feeling cozy, intentional, and completely unpretentious. You can come for a low-key dinner, a girls' night, a celebration, or one of those "we just need a really good meal and a really good glass of wine" kind of evenings. And the back patio? Perfect for an evening under twinkling lights. It is one of those spaces that just begs for a long table, good conversation, clinking glasses, and the kind of night that accidentally turns into a core memory. They also have catering menus available, which is very important information to keep in your back pocket if you are hosting anything soon. What Angela has built is honestly something to behold. One of the hardest-working restaurateurs doing the dang thing in a city like San Diego, and now opening Bedda across the way too? I am in awe and wonder watching it all unfold. It takes so much courage, grit, taste, excellence, and heart to build what they are building, and you can feel all of it in the room. Carbon Angela's Kitchen is a true labor of love, a hidden gem, and one of those places I will keep cheering for again and again. Go hungry. Order the griglia mista. Get the Everything Salad. Do not skip the street corn. Share Share Share, so you can try a little bit of everything and do a tried and true family style meal, you won't regret it.

We added an appetizer called Crespelle which was a really yummy spin on a Manicotti made the right way (with a Crespelle). The salad was fresh and tasty. We order the Rigatoni Sugo which has a Tomato based sauce and assorted meats (Meatballs, Sausage, Cubes of meat) and was delicious along with the meats as well. We also added the Picanha Steak Entree with the Brie Fondue and that was so different while being soooo yummy. We enjoyed some wine with our meal and we finished with this really delicious Bavarian Cream Filled Napoleon with a Berry Coulis (desserts do change so check with restaurant to see what they have available the day you want to visit)..
