My 10 yr. old grandson queried "Best breakfast near me?" and Giovanna's Cafe came up with pictures of some food. He was so excited and said, "this looks so good, we HAVE to go here!" We went that day. While we had to wait because it was late morning and crowded, it was so worth the wait. I thoroughly enjoyed my Garden omelet with zucchini, peppers, mushrooms, onions and cheese and he loved his egg sandwich with bacon and cheese. We also had the fresh squeezed OJ, loved the home fries, and on a separate occasion enjoyed the Fritatta with some fresh fruit. The thick sliced artisan toast is worth its own mention. The owner, Giovanna, was there and I had to share with her our compliments and told her how Frankie found this awesome spot. She was so kind and appreciative to my grandson. It is now our Saturday or Sunday morning routine whenever he sleeps over. While we now go there when they open, 7am Saturday or 8am Sunday, my grandson has also asked to go there later so he can see our friend, Giovanna, just to say hello. We went here for Sunday morning brunch. As you can imagine this place was jumping! We had a reservation, but were not all there on time (they won't seat you until your whole party gets there) so we waited a tiny bit (under 5 minutes) while they set us up outside. It's a family run mother and daughter business, The daughter does the baking. the Nutella Cinnna Yumms and Tiramissu and Focaccia are to die for. The coffee beans are freshly ground . The coffee is hearty , fresh and not burnt tasting. The omelets and home fries are excellent For lunch, try the Pasta ala Pappa , a dish you don't find in many places. The Chicken alla Fallacaro was excellent. I'm going to try the stuffed flank steak the next time. It's definitely worth the trip to Ramsey. A girlfriend and I went on a Sunday and it was well worth the wait. Giovanna greets us and has great flow as she seats people, takes names and takes care of diners as well. I've been before and enjoyed the strawberry salad- fresh and great mix of greens, and the omelets which was delicious and cooked perfectly. Today I ordered the 'Giovanna' and it came out piping hot and smelled delicious with the right mix of veggies and I added chicken. The waitress knew i would like a hunk of bread before I did and brought over a hot roll. As I'm raving to my friend, Giovanna comes over and tells me it's her recipe and she proceeds to tell me how to make it!!! love it. My friends carrot pancakes were also the best she's had. My sister in law and I were excited to try this cute restaurant alone for the first time without our kids. It was our small treat to relax and enjoy eating a meal together. We were so excited to try the cafe but we were terribly disappointed with the service of the owner. The wait staff was friendly, but the owner actually had the nerve to ask us to pay, as if she was rushing us to leave so other people could sit. I have only been here once, but I am looking forward to coming back and trying other dishes. I went for Sunday brunch with my boyfriend and his family. The place was bustling with people. I ordered the Viva l'italia omelette. It came with a side of wonderfully cooked potatoes and toast. While everything was tasty and fresh, the one downfall was that the prosciutto in the omelette was not that great to eat. I picture it to be sliced thin, but the way it came for me was like little chunks, so that kind of threw me off. I love prosciutto, but I wasn't really a fan of this. Everything else was delicious. The toast had this kind of jam and butter mixture that you could spread on it if you like. I believe it was strawberry--so good! I really can't wait to come back! read more

Everybody clearly enjoys their jobs here. The food is consistently fantastic. I keep trying different dishes every time I come in and have yet to be disappointed. The menu is smaller than some places but very diverse, and they have daily specials. Everything is delicious. They also offer options for vegetarian and gluten-free (including GF pasta and bread so yes, you can have sandwiches). My only wish is that the place were a little bigger. So many places are dead during lunch hour on a Tuesday, yet Giovanna's usually has a (short) wait whenever we go in. read more

It's pretty crowded for weekend lunches. When you're waiting for a table there isn't much standing room because it's a tight space. Our server was okay. She wasn't very friendly or attentive. Forgot waters and didn't greet us for awhile. The food was okay. I get better, cheaper food from delis all the time. The biscuit they gave us was microwaved and got hard. My salad was pretty over-dressed. The bacon in my omelette was chewy and they only put a little sprinkle of cheese on top. Ate here for the first time last week... Let me say that it was better than I expected! I had 1/2 soup & 1/2 sandwich... Homemade Cream of Chicken was delicious and I'm a pretty big critic as it's my favorite soup! Also a focaccia bread sandwich, which was also good, but next time I would get a panini type of sandwich, like my lunch partner... Then we had triple chocolate cake and a version of pumpkin pie both were to die for!!! I will also be getting pumpkin pie this week if it's still available.
