I liked my friends crab avocado salad but my i wasn't as happy with my chicken. it was one of the specials and if I had known that it would be covered in a cream sauce, I wouldn't have ordered it. So came to Giovanni's for dinner last night (they have a restaurant in the back) and was pleasantly surprised to find out they had a live band playing a R&B tunes and Jazz/Funk. The waiter sat us right in front which was great because the sound level was perfect and not too loud as it can get sometimes when you are hearing a live band during dinner. We ordered the mussels in red sauce and the Tri-Colore salad as apps and they were absolutely divine! Their sauce is killer and the bread basket has a combo of country style sliced bread and garlic knots (yum). For entree I ordered the Cappellini Al Almanda which was so amazingly good. It came with scallops and shrimp in a light red sauce with garlic. Can't wait to go back =). read more

For a slice of pizza, or lunch with a few people (2 or 3), this place is fine........however when you extend that number to 10 or more....chaos ensues. We made reservations in advance and had a prefix menu....the waiter seemed new and unorganized. The old dishes were not removed in a timely fashion. The manager was distant and even left the restaurant and as not seen again. Additionally, our main course did not arrive until an hour and 20 minutes after our reservation. That wait time is ridiculous and uncalled for. When dish s finally arrived there Were NO serving utensils and water to accompany the meal arrived 40 minutes later. The food was good, however to have such a long wait and inattentive wait staff was uncalled for and highly unprofessional. I would not return to this establishment with a large crowd at all. The food was overpriced and definitely not worth all the trouble that needed to be endured. This establishment needs to do better with customer service. Read the remainder of the reviews that complain...it's mainly for customer service. That trickles from the top down. This is a solid Italian restaurant in the Bronx. The food is good and consistent and the portions are sizable. The waitstaff isn't overly friendly but they get the job done well. I had the tri-colori salad and the veal francese. Both dishes were excellent. Their drinks are made well too! I don't really have any complaints about the place. It's not an amazing Italian experience - meaning, it's no Cipriani's - but it's a good, solid experience. I would definitely recommend coming here for lunches! read more

They dropped 5 pieces of hard bread naked at the bottom of the bag where they had the condiments and all no butter they just dropped them in there no wrapping nothing. Left me on hold for 10 mins. I hung up called again and Sheila put me on hold again for ten minutes told her Fernando forgot about me. 10 minutes later called again, Fernando finally got on the phone and begrudgingly sent the remaining of the order we paid for. Horrible service. Ive been here three times. The first time was excellent service. The woman who waited on us was so amazing. The last two times i had to literally wave the waiter down and ask multiple times for a refill on the "unlimited mimosa" which are advertised as unlimited but actually arent. Each person gets 2 and after that they are $4 each. The price isnt bad $32 but thats not unlimited. Stay away from the steak unless you like yours cooked very well To the point where it taste like cardboard. Besides that the food is great but the service is enough for me to never go back again! I was so disappointed in the service today from the manager and with the order. I have been a patron for over 10 years. Even when my delivery orders were wrong, I continued to patronize them because they were very apologetic. I have a restricted diet and was very pleased when I found they served gluten free pasta options. In Nov 2019 I was diagnosed with Lupus. I became very conscience where I dined. I try to stick with the places I know and trust. I have been getting the pesto with shrimp each time for months, generally making 2 orders. Today I went to the restaurant , and ordered my dishes and waited 30 mins. Due to the pandemic, your meals are prepped to go. I brought my order home and sat down to eat my mea. My daughter ordered the same dish but with regular pasta. We were a little stunned to see there were only 6 shrimp in the dish, the pesto was very light, and there were no sundried tomatoes, which he asked me if I wanted. They actually are an ingredient with the meal. And the pasta looked very dry. I called and was told the manager was not available. So I jumped in my car and drove back to the restaurant. When I made my complaint in person I was very offended on how the manager treated me. He immediately raised his voice.This wasn't my first time ordering this dish, as mentioned. Every point I made to him, he proceeded to dispute with me. He was not at all trying to work with me. His response was basically to give me money back instead of fixing the order to what it should be. I spent $52 for 2 pasta dishes that had only 6 small shrimps in each dish!.
