This was our second visit ro Rocco's. The first time there was only another table or two in the…read morerestaurant. This visit we were lucky to grab one of the last available tables. The place is small and has some nods to history via the wall mural. We were prepared to have a long wait (about an hour from seating to eating) as they make all dishes from scratch. Most groups were ordering pizzas and we opted for a meatball parm sub and their haddock puttanesca special. There were two servers on for the evening covering and they seemed overwhelmed by the rush which was not our experience before. While the food wait was expected it did take a considerable amount of time to get out drink order taken and then to have it arrive. In between ordering and getting our drinks I noted out server taking care of 2 other tables bringing out food and drinks. It took about half an hour for the bread to arrive at the table. The puttanesca was good and well seasoned but the meatball parm sub and fries were surprisingly under seasoned. We may be back again but will probably not go in when they are nearly full again.

I was expecting a well cooked and braised fall-apart short rib inside a puff pastry but instead I got a medium cooked brick. Any decent chef knows you don't serve short rib medium- come on guys! Flavor was nice but why not just use a petite filet? Taste was decent but the beef was near inedible. Wife had the Lobster Francaise over spaghetti. Lobster tail was cooked to perfection but the spaghetti was gummy and flat with almost no "lemon caper butter" as described. Oh well. Food is served quickly but not rushed and the bartender/server was awesome. Also, they're still playing background music on a garage sale sound bar. Uggh.... Next time we're going to Farmacy...

Service is friendly, and the food was timed just right. Our friend ordered a Makers on the rocks and I was impressed with the pour. We shared calamari and mozzarella sticks to start; not a trace of greasiness-both served hot and with a delicious side of marinara. The peppers in the calamari could be an appetizer of their own...I could have made a meal of those. I had the buffalo chicken salad with blue cheese dressing on the side. Fab. Grilled chicken pieces were just the right size and coated with a medium spicy sauce over greens, croutons, onions and olives. Others at the table had the ribs and Tuscan chicken. Rave reviews for the Tuscan chicken served with pasta in a creamy garlic sauce. Ribs-huge portion (got the full rack) and the fries were awesome. These are fork and knife ribs; no need to pick them up since they fall off the bone. I would have liked a little more sauce...so next time I'll ask for a side of it. We arrived early and it got busier without being too crazy. I hope they do well-go check them out!

I've said that in many of my reviews previously...please forgive my self proclaimed pizza snobbiness. But, they clearly use good ingredients and the pizza is served hot and fresh.
