Came here to grab a quick lunch before kayaking nearby. The place was clean and had lots of indoor and outdoor seating. The staff were friendly. We ordered the lox, the spicy sophia bagel, and a cold brew. Both came out pretty quickly and were solid bagels. Overall a nice spot for a quick bite!

Cute little bagel place! I ordered just an Asiago bagel with plain cream cheese. I was hoping the bagel would have that more 'asiago-ness' flavor, similar to what I get at Panera bread, but it was more plain than expected. That's okay though. It was still really good. My fiancé ordered the spicy Sophia bagel sandwich and it had very good flavors. Not so spicy. Seemed like a very popular choice because the next two customers ordered the same thing. Staff was friendly, place was clean. They've got their own little parking area. Limited spaces. And there are a few tables inside & outside as well. Will definitely visit again!

Food is delicious; I really enjoyed the jalapeño cheddar bagels. Small shop, but the food came out pretty quickly. Drink selections for a breakfast joint was very sparse. Would definitely recommend this place!

This place was amazing! So many options to choose from. This is a must try! The lady that took my order was great at giving recommendations. I got the tailored ham, bacon, egg and cheese bagel. It was amazing!

Stopped by the new Giovanni's Brooklyn Bagels shop in Swansboro on a Sunday morning. I was surprised to see that it was quite busy! The staff were quick about entering orders in and the wait time was pretty short considering the amount of customers! There were plenty of fresh delicious bagels to choose from, all of which are displayed so you know which bagels are available. The menu is very easy to read and is filled with tons of delicious options ranging from a handful of flavored cream cheeses, different types of breakfast sandwiches, a variety of drinks, etc. In addition to the bagels being perfect (crisp on the outside, soft on the inside), they also come with the PERFECT amount of cream cheese. The true NY way. The store itself is beautifully decorated and comfortable. There is seating inside and outside so there is plenty of space for customers to eat in if they choose to. Very excited for this to become a regular spot for me.

This is a nice hidden bagel spot in Swansboro. I came in one day while exploring the area and bought a double fudge chocolate muffin for my boyfriend, it must've been good because I never got to try it! So on a late evening walk with my bf I brought him here and we decided to try the salmon sandwich and a breakfast sandwich, and they didn't disappoint us. Their sandwiches as well as their staff and vibes were great! I recommend this place if you're in Swansboro because I will definitely be coming back the next time I'm in town.

Service was great... bagels tasted amazing for both my friend and me. Neat clean seating area ... and even space outside to sit

Finally found someone that has egg bagels! If you've never tried them, you've got to give it a shot!

We got the lox on a jalapeño cheddar bagel and another jalapeño cheddar bagel with their veggie cream cheese. SO GOOOOOD. Can't recommend more. The woman who took our order was very nice too. The bagels are soft and the fillings amazing! Go get one!

Kistler Chardonnay, and a canned beet salad?…read more I wrote a review of Boro about 8 years ago, it may be interesting to go out and compare the two. I have to say my wife and I are confused by our latest dinner experience more than anything. We could not get into Il Cigno Italiano, a fantastic restaurant (I recommend to the eggplant meatballs), who suggested we visit their "sister site" Boro. We love Il Cigno and thought, wow this going to be great. I did not realize the two were related under one organization. Like all my reviews, I try very hard to keep drama and non factual commentary out as much as possible. I focus on setting expectations based on my experience. Ambiance - Boro has changed since we were there last. The bar was walled off from the main dining more than before. The walls were empty with no art or really anything... pretty sterile...not a romantic setting, but more of a family setting. In fairness, they may be remodeling, I did not ask. One last critical item, we were sitting under a HVAC wall unit, that leaked on us through the meal. I would have asked to move but we moved to the far end of the booth, it was fine then. The outdoor patio is still nice though, and is fun to go watch bands and relax listening to music. We do this frequently as we are "locals". Service - our waitress was attentive, very nice and did check on us. The hostess was great, and was able to seat us right away. So service was pretty spot on. ....except, I am no longer paying credit card service fees that are not verbally noted when I sit down (small print on the menu does not count). These fees, have been added as "Covid era" item to help restaurants. I had no issue with it then, however, we are not in Covid anymore. I run a business and feel this is a cost of doing business and needs to be in the pricing (more helpful for customers) or absorbed. 3% is well over $200 per year for our eating out budget. Food - this is where I left scratching my head. My wife and I both ordered the Beet Salad. It read on the menu it had arugula, butter nut squash and a combination of greens. When it arrived, there was very little arugula, very sparse squash and it had canned beets on it. The greens were very scarce, more of a garnish than a salad amount. At best it looked like it was a small side salad, not a dinner salad. It was not a good price point for what we received in my opinion. However, the Tuna Takati was nicer for $15 and much closer to an Il Cigno level of offering. Another strange dynamic was they offered Kistler Chardonnay, which runs for about $90 a bottle. It is a world class wine, but Im not sure how well it matches the restaurant, or the level and quality of the food we were severed. In summary, if I was the owner of Il Cigno I would be hesitant to send folks to Boro who may looking for an Il Congo experience. In fairness, I did not ask about decor or the HVAC. However, the food is not at par for the pricing or the quality I would expect after eating at Il Cigno.

So glad I did because the restaurant itself is a whole vibe tucked away from the busy street in Cape Carteret. We had the most amazing time here. Everyone was wonderful, helpful with how to order and there is plenty of space inside and outside for the warmer weather. My husband and I chose a table right next to an elderly couple who was trying Coastal Haze for the first time (they live out of town and visit this area once a year) and they were lovely to have a conversation with. I ordered the shrimp tacos and my husband got the wings - both were really good and filling! The tacos had plenty of shrimp, were flavorful and came with these steak fries that were thin, crispy and so good! My husband is sort of a snob when it comes to wings and he was pleasantly surprised. I already can't wait to come back to try more items on the menu!

The fries were just as amazing as the previous order and the wings were in a word , perfect. Nice and crispy outside and juicy throughout. And HUGE!!!! 10 of these wings have more meat than 15-20 at most places. As a recommendation, try the dry rub wings and the spicy peach sauce on the side. Can't wait to get back here to start working my way through the sandwich menu.

Instead, it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences we've ever had. From the beginning, things felt off. Our server was wearing basketball shorts, which seemed completely inappropriate for the atmosphere and setting of the restaurant. The wait for our food was excessive, and when it finally arrived, it was almost entirely inedible. The food was cold, the broccoli was essentially raw, the rice and risotto looked and tasted nothing like they should, and every meal at the table was disappointing. For a bill of over $300, not a single person in our party left satisfied. To make matters worse, we noticed the restaurant had a B sanitation rating, which certainly didn't inspire confidence after the quality of the meal we received. The waterfront location is beautiful, but that's where the positives end. When you're paying premium prices for a special celebration, you expect quality food, attentive service, and a memorable experience. Unfortunately, we got none of those. We won't be returning, and I couldn't recommend Saltwater Grill to friends, family, or anyone looking for a nice meal in the area.
