We were leaving Wrightwood and wanted to grab breakfast before heading back to Orange County. A quick Yelp search led us to this local spot in the town of Phelan, a town I honestly had never even heard of before! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and seated right away. The restaurant is spotless! Everything was sparkling clean, including the restroom. Service was quick, friendly, and attentive, and the food came out fresh and delicious. If you ever find yourself passing through this town, do yourself a favor and stop here for breakfast. It's a hidden gem worth checking out!

Bacon avocado burger with curly fries

Tried out this place for lunch for the 1st time. It was just okay to be honest. I got a burger and it a decent size but it lacked flavor. Just tasted like a burger you could have made at home. I got the curly fries which were really tasty but i wasn't told they were going to be an up charge. My husband ordered the bacon cheeseburger with onion rings, unfortunately we paid an up charge of 1.99 and we got 5 mini onion rings. We didn't think it was worth it so we sent them back & asked for regular fires instead. He never sends back food so i was shocked. Our server was a young kid who was nice but i must say he needs to learn how to talk appropriately in the customer service field. Bro is not a thing to say to my husband.

Green chile chilaquiles. Spicy and very tasty.

Gave it a shot and we weren't disappointed. We ordered a small bowl of menudo which was more than enough. Comes with 3 corn tortillas or flour if you prefer. Also enjoyed the chilaquiles in green sauce. Nice kick. Egg well cooked and the beans are great. Spanish rice is standard, but good. Overall, I have no problem recommending Gisselle's for a good meal, nice family feel and good service.

While visiting family in Phelan we stopped by to try a new local spot that was recommended. As soon as we walked through the front door, it felt very welcoming and pleasant. The staff and owner were very friendly and attentive, making sure we enjoyed our experience. The food came out hot and freshed and every night was delicious. The cafe is very family friendly and you people from different backgrounds and cultures coming together for some delicious food. This is our new go to spot for breakfast when in the high desert. Now got to try out their other foods... Lunch trip in the near future...

Just had lunch here today with my partner & our 3 kids after visiting the animal sanctuary. We started with mozzarella sticks, side salad, and biscuit with gravy. For mains, we had chicken fried chicken, Philly cheese steak, BLT with avocado, and kids Mac n cheese. And dessert... ice cream!! Everything was so good, and served fast! Bonus points for the cleanliness of the bathrooms too. Ray, thank you for being so friendly & making us feel welcome!

It was our first time here and it wont be our last. I had the Chilaquiles plate and it was delicious. My husband had the breakfast chicken skillet with biscuits n gravy dish, yum! The service was amazing, Ray and his son made the visit more welcoming and enjoyable. The ambiance is adorable, they did a great job with the decorations and it was comfortable. We will be back to try several other dishes, so if you are looking for a great place to eat you must try Gisselle's.

We decided to stop here after a baseball game at Serrano HS. There is a lot of reviews BUT I will tell you it is a great place to eat! There is variety of breakfast, lunch-deli & burgers, as well as dinner - pasta & seafood or steak! I'd recommend this pit stop to anyone! LAST AND MOST IMPORTANT- STAFF ARE GREAT!!

I'll admit, the initial smell reminded me a little of an old Las Vegas casino, but don't let that fool you. This is the only true sit-down restaurant in town, and if you're looking for a romantic dinner, this is the spot. We arrived right at opening, and the bar already had regulars enjoying their evening. We were seated in the main dining room, where it was just us, and another party of four. Kara, who greeted us, was bubbly, personable, and welcoming. Our server, Alicia, was equally wonderful. Both ladies were knowledgeable about the menu, quick with recommendations, and incredibly attentive. They had that sixth sense of knowing what we needed before we even had to ask. We ordered a nice variety to share: the tempura, seasonal fire-roasted artichoke, fried zucchini and squash, spinach salad, Malaysian shrimp, Pacific cod fish & chips, and the top sirloin steak. Honestly, we walked in with zero expectations, but this small-town steakhouse really delivered. The food was delicious, but the service stood out as truly top notch. Kara and Alicia made the experience memorable, and for that reason alone, we'll definitely be back the next time we're in town.

The food is always delicious. The rib eye steak is full of flavor. The steak has so much juice. It is always cooked to perfection. I've also had the artichoke appetizer. Surprisingly enough, IT IS SO GOOD! Nice, tender, and delicious. The chicken is also good. It is full of flavor and not dried out. They offer yummy warm bread with your meal. The clam chowder tastes fresh. The coconut cake dessert is to die for! It's amazing. I've also had their other pies which are also good. The inside is a bit dated from the 70's, but don't let it fool you. The bar area has a nice fireplace. This place is awesome. Be sure to call to check their availability/hours of operation.

My children like this place, my wife likes this place and obviously lots of other people do. My wife and I shared the poutine, and we had some chicken wings as an appetizer. She likes Guinness draft there and I had Sour Monkey Triple draft. The poutine was good and it was the first time my wife had tried it--she loved it. I thought there could have been a little bit more of the cheese curd, it was fried, but I know every place makes theirs a little different. The atmosphere is great; it reminds you of a cabin on the inside and of course you're in Wrightwood CA so it's a perfect mountain hangout. The tables are clean, the area swept up and a very inviting indoor environment as outdoor environment. This is a rustic environment, so don't expect four-star accommodation. Again, as I said, it is perfect for this area, and I would expect nothing less. The service was great, we had two or three different servers, and they were always polite, knew their menu well, and offered upgrades. Had a great conversation with this server and he had been coming up there for years himself before working there. His daughter and wife were outside, and he would periodically chat with them which made us feel like it was a great family environment. The menu is varied and they have some excellent hamburgers; I have had the patty melt in the past. There is something about being 5000 feet above sea level, having a cold drink, and hot food; it's amazing. If you happen to be up in the Wrightwood area stop by at this place you will not regret it the food is hot and tasty, the beer is cold and the service and ambience is excellent,

Walking into the…read morerestaurant gives you a sense of nostalgia for times when you knew the people in your community and life was less complicated. The interior has a true, old school, country diner vibe that instantly is relaxing and welcoming. A little dim, alotta wood, a long counter, lots of comfortable booths, and a decent sized patio for folks to go have their smokes. The waitresses are easy going, friendly, and very on top of checking on diners & keeping our drinks full. On our very first visit, our waitress recommended the freshly made potato chips that come with house made bleu cheese and/or ranch and they are AMAZING!! It's the first thing we order and it's something we crave. Breakfast is served all day. At our latest visit, we had a feast. We started with the chips we'd been craving, had the Grilled BLT burger, Classic Eggs Benedict, and finished it all with coconut cream pie and apple pie à la mode. SO GOOD!! Considering the generous entree portions AND our scrumptious desserts, we took half of the chips and dressing home. (And they reheated beautifully in the air fryer!) And now I'm craving those chips and bleu cheese dressing :/ But seriously though, if I lived in the neighborhood, I'd get those chips at least once a week!

Fresh squeezed orange juice isn't as common as it should be, but it's worth the charge for each glass! I am fairly certain I had at least 3. My oldest daughter has a hard time ordering and got flustered when it was her turn. The waitress was so polite and patient, she gave us extra time and came back later to add my daughter's choice before sending our ticket to the kitchen. The waitress made sure that we knew there was no pressure and to let her take her time. Being a truck driver for 15+ years means that my husband is not a fan of truck stop restaurants, but after breakfast he said he wouldn't mind coming back again in the near future. That's quite the compliment.
