We decided to try out Gitto's via delivery to see how this downtown spot's pizza was. We ordered their small lasagna pizza, garlic rolls, and a beef patty. The order took a while because it was a weekend night, but we expected that so not a big deal. The pizza came with four garlic knots, so additional aren't needed unless you want extra bread. I was pleasantly surprised by the pizza! It was a good mix of flavors, the toppings were generous, and the crust was tasty. The beef patty was also pretty darn good. The garlic rolls were average; nothing special there. The slices of pizza were big so we had a lot of leftover pieces, and they were good even after reheating. Overall, we both really enjoyed it and I'd definitely order the lasagna pizza from here again! read more

My friend who lives in Orlando has been taking me to Gitto's for many years before I even moved to Florida. I've had it for dinner as well as late night after partying downtown. On my last occasion it was Sunday evening dinner. My friends and I ordered a large margarita pizza for takeout and took it across the street to the Corona Cigar bar. In the past I was used to standing in the long line to order my pizza. But on this occasion there was only one customer ahead of me. The pizza took about 15 minutes. In my opinion Gitto's has one of the best margarita pizzas I have had the pleasure of consuming! With fresh tomatoes, mozzarella and basil oh my! And the crust is not too thin and not too thick... Perfect. The staff have always been friendly and the service is fast (unless it is late night and there may be a long line). And you can buy by the slice or by the pie. This food is the real deal!! I have been to other pizzerias, but nothing will to the food I had the pleasure of reading at this establishment. All of the food was made to order and was finger licking good . The level of freshness, the excellent taste, and overall presentation of the food were amazing. It definitely deserves a high 20 on the Yummy scale!! I had the pizza puff first, which resembled a puff pastry. It was filled with pepperoni and cheese. On the first bite, I wanted to run in the restaurant and high-five the chef. Needless to say, not even a crumb was left from this pizza puff. I also ordered a whole pepperoni/ sausage pie, which I'm glad to report, left me with the same mind-blowing experience. Just a heads up, there isn't a lot of street parking available. If you come to get some of this goodness, be prepared to walk here from a parking garage. The other alternative is to come with someone who will keep driving around until you have picked up your food. It was a light and sweet sauce which is what I prefer and initially had me excited about this pizza. I've been to Gittos twice. One during a late night out and my second time mid day. The night line can be long because of the clubs but the way they have it set up I was able to get in and out within 15 minutes. The pizza is top tier. Gittos is centrally located downtown on orange Avenue. Parking can be a bit challenging as with all down town restaurants but it is worth the hassle. They are open late. I've been coming to Gittos for years. The pizza is delicious New York slices with an amazing crust. They include a garlic knot with every order and have 2 slices and a soda specials for $9.05. The ingredients are always fresh and flavors consistent. They are often very busy so if you plan on ordering an entire pizza I would phone ahead. Service is always quick and there is an eating area above the restaurant. We usually takes our to go and it's always hot with the cheese bubbly and delicious. I also appreciate that their pizza boxes are made out of renewable resources. Staff is wearing mask and there is social distancing stickers on the floor however as much as they try to regulate the amount of people the space doesn't lend well to this feat. In general people are polite and try to avoid overcrowding. read more

Now, never mind the people upstairs with the Gitto's employee shirts in.. they only work here. One was live streaming and the other watching the game. No one welcomes you, no one tells you that you have to seat yourself. Nope, just act like they are not there. But the pizzas good. Once I got the ladies attention all was right with with the world. My friend got the October pizza skulls to try a few weeks ago, and they were better than I expected! 3 cheese & pepperoni skulls, and 3 Buffalo chicken skulls. They looked like they'd be overly doughy, but they were stuffed with filling which compensated for the wrapping. Gitto's was also generous with the sides of marinara and hot sauce, despite not being asked! They were pretty dense, so they took a few days to consume, but they were still good cold and reheated (as pizza is want to do). I wish these were around for more than just sPoOky season. read more

It quickly became the only option; I wanted to prove him wrong and he wanted to prove he was right.
