I have mixed feelings about this place. On the one hand, I received phenomenal service and got lots of food for a reasonable price. On the other hand, the food was disappointing. I ordered Combo # 1 which comes with beef lasagna, ravioli (you can choose between cheese, beef or spinach; I got the cheese), spaghetti with meatballs, and garlic bread. Unfortunately, my entree did not meet my expectations. The lasagna, ravioli, and spaghetti were crammed into one plate and topped with too much sauce. I couldn't even see the lasagna and ravioli. It felt like I was tasting multiple things in each bite. I would have preferred to see and eat each item separately. Additionally, I did not find any of it tasty except maybe the ravioli. And don't get me started on the garlic bread. Suffice to say I've made better at home. For me, a 4-5 star experience starts with great food. I really, really wanted to like Lomeli's Italian Restaurant. I had tried their food years ago when they catered for a lunch at my workplace. Fast forward and I came here for lunch with my mom. We ordered the Minestrone Soup and Combo 1 which comes with Beef Lasagna, Beef Ravioli and Spaghetti with Meatball. The Minestrone was nice and comforting and I enjoyed the crisp garlic bread. I thought the lasagna, ravioli and spaghetti were tasty as well. Unfortunately, that evening I started feeling very ill. I could barely keep any food down and became quite weak. Based of my symptoms, I had food poisoning. The only food I had eaten that day was from Lomeli's. I normally hate giving a restaurant one star, especially when I initially enjoyed the food. However, becoming so sick afterward significantly affected my overall experience, and ultimately influenced my rating. read more

Unfortunately, Lomeli's is not how I remember it being. The prices are reasonable, portions are great, but the beef lasagna is not what I remember it being. Too much cheese and not equally portions of meat sauce ratio. My granddaughter was not pleased with the creamy garlic sauce spaghetti (NOT ENOUGH GARLIC). The service was somewhat rude at times. Sad, since this was a great restaurant three or so years ago which was my last visit. This was my favorite when Vince's in Torrance closed for good, but now I need to look elsewhere. Clientele seemed less than what I remember it being during the early post COVID years. This place is a throwback to the 70's & 80's. Large portions and good prices. The Italian sausage was slow cooked and so tender. Will order 3-4 of them next time. Ordered sausage pepperoni and mushroom medium pizza and the ravioli lasagna and spaghetti with meatball combo which came with a salad and garlic bread and glass of wine and ice cream for desert. Solid Italian place located in Gardena. Place has no windows but is an old school type vibe place with lots of booth tables. The pizza is pretty good and the pricing is pretty affordable as portion sizes are generous. They have a cute little kids menu that comes with garlic bread and ice cream. I like their spumoni flavor with a nice combo of chocolate, pistachio and cherry and lil bits of them inside. The tiramisu was also very good. read more

The atmosphere is dated but in a good way. Its like stepping into the 1940 when being Italian and part of the neighborhood family was the trend. Food was good and portions large. We ordered the Combo #2 (beef lasagna, spinach ravioli, and spaghetti with sausage) and Chicken Parmigiana with the Complete Dinner combo of garlic bread, soup, wine, and ice cream. The spinach ravioli was our favorite part of the combo as the the spaghetti was simple and the sausage mild. The beef lasagna was a bit sweeter and more sour than we cared for. The chicken parmigiana was good but slightly on the drier side. The wine glass shrank in size! But the strawberry cheesecake was great. Service: 5/5 - super friendly and attentive service. Old School authentic Italian restaurant in the South Bay, Gardena to be exact. Lomeli's was chosen as an afternoon lunch trial for my wedding. The portions are considerably large and the quality is great. My faves are the beef lasagna, the shrimp scampi pasta and pizza, and the baked pasta. Ordered the rib eye cutlet for dinner and it was simply divine. Steak was cooked perfectly and oh so tender sitting on a bed of spaghetti with a tasty tomato sauce. The garlic bread could have been toasted more and prepared with more butter but this was a minor issue. Thanks Lomeli for another delicious meal! This is a little gem! Very authentic Italian food. I had the eggplant Parmesan, but I chose to have angel hair with Alfredo sauce as my pasta. I also chose to have no green peppers with the eggplant Parmesan. My son had the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and everything was just delicious. Very fresh, we had both wanted extra sauce. They both had sauce. It was absolutely delicious. Service was great ambience was very nice. It was very cozy. And they honor their military. I will definitely be back. A Gardena Gem! You know those places in your hometown that you can not go to for a while and when you finally do it's just amazing, as usual? Welp, that's Lomeli's. Every Friday my friend and I have dinner at a Gardena-area, mom & pop/independent, restaurant. We've visited quite a few places but it was only today that we got a chance to enjoy Lomeli's. You walk in and nothing has changed, and that's a good thing, Your eyes adjust to the low lighting and you make your way to one of their booths, covered in that orange leather that's just so Lomeli's. Service is always great. The first thing to come to your plate is their classic carrots and pepperoncinis with ranch for dipping. My friend ordered the lasagna which comes with a serving of their garlic bread (buttery, crunchy, garlicky) and I had a small portion of their house salad and a small pepperoni, pineapple (don't judge me), and olive pizza. I had it made thin crust, it's the best. If you still have room after eating get yourself some of their spumoni ice cream. Lomeli's is a great place. Great food, great people, great service. The absolute worst experience with this place. Placed an order for catering on Saturday and picked it up. The salad and fetticuejen was fine. What was horrible was the large red meat sauce mancholli dish I paid for a large there was nothing but noodles and red sauces. It was horrible. I then called on Saturday, and was met with a response of send it the owner with a picture via email. Of course never got a response and when I called to follow-up got the runaround and the quote mgr didn't even want to state her name. They were very rude and apparently don't care about customer server I totally want a refund and plan to stop by to get it . They made it difficult and Christine didn't want to give her name and she says she's the mgr. I like Lomeli's, it's a pretty popular restaurant around the South Bay. I would say most people take out but the restaurant has such a nice and cozy old school Italian vibe to it. The food is good, but to be honest not the best I've ever had. I love their chicken alfredo, I'd have to say that's their best dish. I have had their pizza, which is good not great and the red sauce pasta was just ok. I've had better at. A multitude of spots. We were a small group and came for lunch. We were seated by who appeared to be the owner/ manager. He wasn't very friendly. The place wasn't that crowded and there were a handful of empty tables yet it took forever for someone to come check on us. No one took our drink or food order for at least 10-15 minutes. We even closed the menus to try to politely signal that we were ready to order. The owner/ manager walked past us several times and didn't even look at us. The man that took our drink order was friendly and the waitress was friendly enough but the service vibe was just plain weird. We could see other tables were getting more attention than us. We ordered a margherita pizza, shrimp scampi pasta, and lasagna. The lasagna was the best tasting out of everything but nothing was worth writing home about (or raving on Yelp about). Everything was edible but underwhelming--my pasta arrived with a heaping serving of minced garlic on top yet it didn't taste garlicky at all and I also didn't taste lemon and the pizza was not thin crust and was topped with thick cut tomatoes so it was watery. I have been to Italian restaurants in the US and Italy and have had Italian immigrant friends cook for me. While this place is affordable and edible, the quality/ authenticity and hospitality was definitely not the Italian I'm used to. I'm honestly surprised by the good reviews that convinced me to go there. I would say this is on par with Olive Garden, which is fine. People have different taste and the food and service here is not for me. There's better Italian in Gardena both food and service wise. read more

It's been about 40 years since I had been there and I have been dying to go back and see if their lasagna was as good as I remembered. So I drove down with my mom and my daughter who was here from spring break. Everything we ordered was delicious, and service was great!!! Ambiance is simple and authentic. We ordered a little of everything. Minestrone, lasagna, antipasto salad, and fettuccine Alfredo. This place still has has rich flavors that feel like home cooking and made with love. Everything was cold when we picked it up so that means it had to be sitting there for at least half an hour . They need to time their pickups differently so that when you pick it up it's hot or at least warm . so we had to take everything out of the tin to warm it up and put the pizza in the toaster oven . i had the chicken parm and the rigattoni fell apart and the sauce had no taste to it .
