After years of driving by this restaurant wondering if the food was good, my wife and I finally pulled the trigger and pulled in on the way home from a doctors appointment. Being a Thursday morning, it wasn't too crowded and parking was easy. We walked in and found the cutest, coziest little mom and pop diner. Taking a few minutes to look at the menu and specials board, we decided on the Big Blue Pancake Special and the French Toast Supreme. I wasn't very hungry that morning so my wife had the larger order which she was very happy with. I sampled the pancakes and sausage which were quite good. The french toast was just enough to satisfy my appetite with a hot black coffee. I really want to come back and try their homemade hash which seems to be the specialty. Service was fantastic. Both the server and the gentleman busing the tables were great about checking on us and making sure I had enough coffee. Unlike some chain restaurants where you have to hunt someone down for a refill of water or beverage. Service gets an A+ from me. I can hardly wait to come back and sample some of their other choices. A delicious little diner in Torrance that specializes in Asian flavors. I love the design of the interior, it really feels like you are in a small little town diner in the best kind of way. The staff was also very polite, both the owner and our waitress were very friendly and checked in on us often. Parking is also really easy, they have free spaces in the front, or in the back. The menu is pretty small, but it has a lot of great options on it. Also, inside is not very large, but it has all different seating options that you can think of from counter, to table, to booth. They also have a small outdoor eating area, but because it was raining during our visit, everyone was dining inside. For my first visit, I wanted to mix up what I usually order so I chose the Loco Moco and loved it. The patty was cooked perfectly and the gravy had great flavor to it and everything about it was just very good. We also tried the Coffee Cake, which I thought was very good, especially the cake portion, but it really could've used a lot more streusel. This is a long-time, local spot here in the Gardena/Torrance area, but never went here for the past 20 years I've been in the area! It can be easy to miss as it's across the street from the energy/refinery company. Went here at about 7 am on a Saturday with a party of 4, and we were able to be seated right away. I felt at home, especially with all the decor that reminded me of my grandparent's house. Particularly a fan of the pig decor. I ordered a chorizo burrito, which was about $14 but still very delicious. The chorizo wasn't dry and I didn't feel super sluggish afterwards. Nothing about the burrito stood out, but it was a solid homestyle breakfast burrito. Something that did stand out was the service. From the outside, this place looks pretty decrepit and I had my doubts. Once inside, it's absolutely charming, just like a country cafe. I was greeted warmly by my server and several other employees. Emphasis on warmly, it felt incredibly genuine. They have parking in the rear, not tons, but ample. I decided to try something different, so I ordered the country omelette. The food was good here but I feel as if it could be better. The service was good and I had no complaints. However, when I walked in I felt like I didn't belong. Everyone was staring at me and I was receiving a lot of mean looks. Just to note, the main demographic seems to be older white people and I clearly am not that. Just enough food not too salty ( you can add your own). First having my potatoes flaked and not shredded or hashed, but it worked. The biscuit I got as a side was dry, so I won't be getting that again. Summary: The ambiance here is country small town local. Full of hometown decorations and the kind you'd find if you stopped at a local cafe on your way to a bigger town. The service was excellent so I don't understand why other reviews said it was poor. What I swallowed: *BULGOGI with EGGS & RICE: The meat was really tender and was really tasty. Like so many other reviewers, I have driven by this place for 10 years but never stopped in. Today, we finally decided to give it a try. Having grown up on country cooking, I knew a thing or two about what to expect. The outside is a bit unseemly, but inside you'll find a cute country cafe with a large menu. We got biscuits with our egg dishes, and they offered apple butter, which I love, but hadn't had in years. Service was really the best part, as they were all so friendly, welcoming and attentive. Seriously tho we've been coming here for about 2 years now, almost religiously every Sunday. The staff here are alway so nice and friendly. They're knowledgeable beyond reproach, especially Jackie. But rest assured no matter who helps you you're in good hands. I can recommend the breakfast burrito, I prefer the chorizo option with grilled peppers and onions while my wife prefers the sausage burrito. Make sure to ask for their homemade pico/salsa you can't miss with that. Also a big favorite of ours is the coffee cake, get one if they have it. Thank me later lol. Depending on the time it can be loud especially on a holiday. But, if like us you walk in on a Tuesday and it's loud and packed don't be surprised, people like it here. I can also recommend the Big #1 with pancakes it's another go to for me. I also just recently had their 2 blueberry pancakes and two eggs combo and they were excellent! Better than the regular pancakes. But before I finish I must also say if u want traditional hash browns they won't have any, but they do have thinly sliced potatoes served with many dishes. I wouldn't call it a hash cuz it's only potato cooked on the griddle but they're good. The lunch menu is also good, the patty melt is good along with the burgers and fries and onion rings.
