Big Blue Pancake Special off the board.
    Steve O.

After years of driving by this restaurant wondering if the food was good, my wife and I finally pulled the trigger and pulled in on the way home from a doctors appointment. Being a Thursday morning, it wasn't too crowded and parking was easy. We walked in and found the cutest, coziest little mom and pop diner. Taking a few minutes to look at the menu and specials board, we decided on the Big Blue Pancake Special and the French Toast Supreme. I wasn't very hungry that morning so my wife had the larger order which she was very happy with. I sampled the pancakes and sausage which were quite good. The french toast was just enough to satisfy my appetite with a hot black coffee. I really want to come back and try their homemade hash which seems to be the specialty. Service was fantastic. Both the server and the gentleman busing the tables were great about checking on us and making sure I had enough coffee. Unlike some chain restaurants where you have to hunt someone down for a refill of water or beverage. Service gets an A+ from me. I can hardly wait to come back and sample some of their other choices. By the way, even LAPD was eating here. If you know any police or fire fighters, you know they don't eat at places that don't have a good rep. I kinda like the idea that no knuckleheads are coming in to rob a place I'm eating at

Homemade hash and breakfast burritos. Mom n pop feel for the seating. Old school diner menu. Well lit. Parking is tight so try to car pool. Simple service from friendly staff. They're on it with the refills and side items like extra napkins and sauces etc.

Stopped by here to get some breakfast. Everyone here was so nice amazing service. I ordered the country chicken steak the gravy omg was delicious. I got scrambled eggs they gave me some home made salsa also amazing a bit spicy but pretty good. The biscuits were also very delicious. They have a few parking spaces. But staff was very friendly food provided comfort and prices were pretty good looking forward to trying their lunch.

We've been coming here for 10+ years because we just love the way they welcome their customers. The food is always comforting, has a "Country Touch" , with a mix of some Korean dishes like Bulgogi and eggs, Bulgogi Omelette. We of course have our favorite waitress, Mary, she always exudes positivity and enthusiasm. I would definitely recommend this place for breakfast.

This is a little delayed in writing but I'm going back. I came here in June. I followed the Yelp review and had driven by here many times and decided to try it. Nice old time cafe with a counter and comfy seating. The service is great and the food delicious. We'll be back!

A delicious little diner in Torrance that specializes in Asian flavors. I love the design of the interior, it really feels like you are in a small little town diner in the best kind of way. The staff was also very polite, both the owner and our waitress were very friendly and checked in on us often. Parking is also really easy, they have free spaces in the front, or in the back. The menu is pretty small, but it has a lot of great options on it. Also, inside is not very large, but it has all different seating options that you can think of from counter, to table, to booth. They also have a small outdoor eating area, but because it was raining during our visit, everyone was dining inside. For my first visit, I wanted to mix up what I usually order so I chose the Loco Moco and loved it. The patty was cooked perfectly and the gravy had great flavor to it and everything about it was just very good. We also tried the Coffee Cake, which I thought was very good, especially the cake portion, but it really could've used a lot more streusel. I also thought the pricing was fair and overall the meal was great. I would recommend and plan to stop in again in the near future.

Got the Chef's Omelette. Very tasty and good quality. They also have salsa available which complements the omelette very well. The potatoes were nice and crispy. Service was outstanding. One other offering that was available was Apple Butter. I will have to try that on my next visit.

This is a long-time, local spot here in the Gardena/Torrance area, but never went here for the past 20 years I've been in the area! It can be easy to miss as it's across the street from the energy/refinery company. Went here at about 7 am on a Saturday with a party of 4, and we were able to be seated right away. I felt at home, especially with all the decor that reminded me of my grandparent's house. Particularly a fan of the pig decor. I ordered a chorizo burrito, which was about $14 but still very delicious. The chorizo wasn't dry and I didn't feel super sluggish afterwards. Nothing about the burrito stood out, but it was a solid homestyle breakfast burrito. Something that did stand out was the service. Not only did the waitress ask if we needed anything but some of the kitchen staff as well!

From the outside, this place looks pretty decrepit and I had my doubts. Once inside, it's absolutely charming, just like a country cafe. I was greeted warmly by my server and several other employees. Emphasis on warmly, it felt incredibly genuine. They have parking in the rear, not tons, but ample. I decided to try something different, so I ordered the country omelette. It was ok, everything needed way more seasoning. However, I happen to lovvvve ham and cheese omelettes, so maybe my tastebuds were just disappointed. I will definitely be returning. But I'll need to have them fry my potatoes a little bit longer and I know they'll accommodate.

    Salsa...so good!

This place is a total gem, and if you haven't been yet, you are seriously missing out! Let me tell you about the star of my visit, the Matcha Cream Filled Croissant. Oh. My. Goodness. This thing is on another level. The croissant itself is buttery, perfectly golden, and incredibly flaky -- with just the right amount of crisp on the outside. But the matcha cream filling? Silky smooth, lusciously rich, with a beautiful earthy matcha flavor that isn't overpowering or too sweet. It's the kind of bite that makes you stop mid-chew just to appreciate how good it is. I honestly could eat three of these in a sitting. The Korean-American fusion approach to their baked goods is inspired and completely unique, you won't find anything like it anywhere else in the South Bay or in Gardena. Seriously Impressive, I paired my croissant with their Iced Matcha Latte, made with premium grade matcha sourced from Jeju Island, and WOW, this drink is stunning. It's vibrant, beautifully layered, and tastes as amazing as it looks. The matcha is bold and authentic without being bitter, perfectly balanced with creamy, cold milk. Not too sweet, not too earthy -- just absolutely perfect. It's easily one of the best iced matcha drinks I've had in a while. You can customize your milk choice too, which is a great thoughtful touch. This place is warm & welcoming: The staff here is attentive, friendly, and clearly passionate about what they do. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a smile and made to feel at home. The baristas are well-trained and knowledgeable, they took their time explaining the menu and made sure my order was exactly right. No rushing, no attitude, just genuine hospitality that keeps you coming back. Decor is absolutely Charming. The interior of Smoking Tiger is adorable and so well thought out. It's modern, clean, and stylish with a cozy Korean café aesthetic that feels fresh without trying too hard. The lighting is warm and inviting, the seating is comfortable, and the whole vibe just makes you want to stay for hours. There's both indoor and outdoor seating available, which is a great bonus. Whether you're catching up with a friend, working on your laptop, or just treating yourself to something special, this place sets the perfect mood. One thing that really stood out to me was how immaculately clean this café is. The tables, counters, floors, and display cases were all sparkling, it's clear that the team takes real pride in maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for every guest. A clean café is a happy café, and this one passes with flying colors. Bottom Line, Smoking Tiger Coffee & Bread is the real deal. Creative, high-quality food, exceptional drinks, warm service, gorgeous decor, and a spotless space, this place checks every single box. The Matcha Cream Filled Croissant and Iced Matcha Latte alone are worth the trip. Do yourself a favor and go try yourself. Miguel C.

Since my first visit, there's been many competitors opening around Gardena, but I find myself drawn back to this place because of the balance of spaciousness (there's actually places to sit whenever I go!), quality of products (the espresso shot is pretty strong and they have many beans to choose from), and best of all, price of their drinks (specifically the specialties). While I wouldn't say the prices are a bargain, it feels more reasonable than other local competitors. One thing I do miss is that 2 years ago, the pastries weren't individually wrapped. We used to have the option of selecting pastries with tongs, the typical experience you'd get when going to a bakery in Japan. Hopefully they would bring that experience back again! Until then, I'll keep returning for their quality drinks!

I've been to other coffee shops where the matcha is already pre-made and sitting in a jar, and honestly, I can taste the difference. I love that they take the time to make it fresh! I've tried the iced matcha, cream cap latte, Spanish latte, and the Nutella-filled Obang Tteok is SO GOOD! Everything I've tried so far has been delicious. Another thing I love is that there's never a super long wait. They're quick, efficient, and still make you feel welcomed. I've already recommended this coffee shop to my family and friends because it's THAT good! If you're looking for a new coffee spot, I very much recommend giving this place a try. The espresso was strong, which was a plus because it definitely kept me awake. The inside was cute with plenty of seating, making it a nice place to get some work done. Parking is easy, and the service was friendly. They also have a kiosk where you can place your order, which makes things convenient. The last time we were here, it was during a busy lunch and both the service and the food were below par. But tonight, it wasn't as busy and our server, Geovani, was excellent. First, we were quickly greeted and asked to select our table (since they were not that busy). Since there was only two of us, we picked a table for two. But, after we decided that we would split an appetizer and an entree, the table for two became way to small way too quickly. Geovani jumped right on this, suggesting we move to a larger table. He helped us move everything over and, voila, we were able to stretch out and relax and enjoy our meal. We started with the pear and blue cheese salad and, wow, we could have just ordered this, split it, and we would have been full. Very flavorful, generous portion that is definitely big enough to share. We also ordered the Sausage & Leek Fettuccine and I was definitely not thinking. Totally forgetting that leeks are part of the onion family (and I have a sensativity to onions). Once the dish arrive, I immediately noticed the similarity and was slowly trying to pick them away from my portion. Once again, Geovani came to our rescue. He asked how everything was and I told him I made a mistake (noted above). He quickly volunteered to have the kitchen make it again without the leeks. I asked, "Are you sure?", and he immediately said yes and removed the dish. Very shortly after, he returned with the "onion sterile" dish and it was wonderful. Both of us were so full you could have rolled us out the door. Good thing the parking garage is so close so we could just hop in our car and go home. Time to loosen the belt! ;) In a week where we have had some personal issues, it was so nice to be treated so well and received such a great tasting meal. Hope you get the time to stop in and I hope you get Giovani to answer all your questions and issues. Enjoy!!!

Absolutely the worst…read more The place is left to be run by a bunch of un professional staff. Came to sit down and despite the place having many tables, the person by the door insisted that we have all of party present to seat us, which is understandable if they are busy but they were not even 50% full, when I said my brother was right there walking down the street, he insisted to hold his ground. Then literally 30 seconds later my brother is here, then I tell him he is right right there, he goes "ok, I will let you know when a table is ready", why not use stove common sense & say that a table is not even ready? Sounds like steering maybe because of the 4 kids ? Maybe something else? Very rude and I'm acceptable behavior. Then to add to it, turns out I was talking to the manager "Ello", who is acting in your face and challenging you more like a night club bouncer than a "manager" at a cafe....
