If I can give it a -5 Star, I would. The most horrible experience ever. We used to come here often and the service was NEVER this bad. It took us 40 min just to get our food cooked. They had one man on the grill. He was so PISSED and definitely hates his job. I had to ask the owner's daughter ( who was rude as hell) if they can please get another cook to help. She literally talked bad about the only cook workingand said he's over reacting WHAAT. ??? There were 12 people in line. Then they started cleaningup before the line was even done. My daughter wanted a socond bowl and was denied one because its time to close. I apptoached the owner's daughter again. Explained that they should allow the people here to get a second bowl. She got so fricken rude and started talking AT ME. She said sorry we are closed. I explained we were in line forever because you had only one cook while the other one left to the back. She said " I dont know what to telll you. " I said " are you seriously talking to a costomer this way"? She said "YUP" Wth ???? This is the LAST time I eat here. And it was filthy as hell. Was in Tracy looking for a place to grab some lunch, and stumbled upon this mongolian bbq. Now I love mongolian bbq, because of all my allergen issues it just so happens to be something that works for me. They cleaned the grill before mine was made, and they were able to show me the ingredients on the back on the chili sauce that's on the tables. They even had a great array of veggies. But the reasons I'm giving this place two stars is: The service was very sub-par, it took forever to get our drinks refilled, and I asked for more napkins that I never actually got. My dads was very bland he adds all the sauces at the end, and I mean he added quite a few, and he said there wasn't any flavor. My dad didn't like the noodles, they were super thick. This sadly could have easily been a 4 star review with better service. We will be back when were in the area since it seems to be the only mongolian bbq close. read more

I'd like to review my dinner experience at Mongolian barbecue in Tracy. While I was there and we had a meal and I asked the service lady for extra teriyaki sauce she gave me a plate and said get it yourself. Normally I don't trip off that but I think just because I was a young person she took me lightly. I am a good customer who's been there before. I didn't appreciate her customer service. She has black hair, tall & her late 20s or early 30s. Although I am a teenager my money is the same as anybody else's. The service should be with respect. I want to start out by taking about all the great things about this place. The staff here were incredibly friendly and attentive. It was our first time at this location and it was a Saturday night so it was a bit busy. There was plenty of parking considering they share a lot with so many other businesses. The food turned out pretty good considering there was a limitation on the options they had. The actual self-serve food area was a mess. There were noodles scattered all over and there were meat chunks in random places. They were out of mushrooms, broccoli, and spinach when I went down the line. There was corn in random parts of the veggies that were there, which ended up in my bowl (I am not a fan of corn). The bowls themselves are really small, almost forcing you to make a mess or get two bowls at once (which is what I did, but this meant no to go box for your left overs). They had a good amount of sauces, but if there was salt and pepper anywhere, I didn't see it, so my food did without. The cook only spoke Spanish and my Spanish is horrible so when he told me something about my bowls, the person next to me had to explain what he was saying. When we sat down, they brought us an appetizer and a soup. The soup was okay, a little too much onion for my taste. I would have preferred a clear broth, but the gesture was nice for sure. The other Mongolian BBQ place I went to only offered you the bowl, no appetizer or soup. I'm sure I'd try it again but maybe on a less busy day to get the full experience of them being stocked and it not being messy. I still gave 4 stars because I was overall a fan of this place, I think I just came at a bad time. read more

If I could, I'd gave this place 0 stars! I decided to give it a try after reading the reviews. I'm baffled that some have given 5 star ratings. The only explanation is that maybe their taste receptors have been altered due to a CNS disorder. The noodles were horrible, lacking in taste even with the sauce. The wonton chips were okay but the sweet & sour sauce they served with it was watered down. Times like this I wish I had that dipping sauce from McDonalds. And to round out the meal, the sesame peanut biscuit was dry and tasted somewhat like play dough (yes, I remember that awful taste from my childhood). We came here late like about an hour before close and we never went to any type of buffet Mongolian noodles types like this and I was pleasantly surprise from how fun it was to put anything you can fit in your small bowl . They had a lot of my favorite veggie sides like baby corn , bok choy, spinach . The sides were a little slim probably because we came late . But let me continue on how Blake made this whole experience such an A1 place . She was so sincere and kind and was having nice conversations with us ! But it was only us left in the restaurant so it wasn't like she was neglecting her duties . Her laugh made my heart melt . After we paid and all my friends left , she gave me the hugest compliment I have ever received in my life . She knew more about me than how my close friends do . My heart felt so full talking to her and I wish we could be friends in real life and I was having trouble leaving because I just kept wanting to talk to her . Decent fast cooked noodles. You get to choose between different meats (chicken, beef, tofu, turkey). All the meats are frozen. You then choose what vegetables you want to add on (broccoli, onion, tomato, garlic, carro, cucumber, bean sprouts, lettuce). Almost to the final step you add on the noodles on top. VERY limited topping selection compared to other places I've been to. I added a ton of sauce because I read reviews saying your noodles will be bland if you don't, and my food was still bland and oddly chewy. My waitress was super sweet and nice so that's a plus! I ate here with my friends and enjoyed it. You go in and pile your bowl with the food they have there presented then the cooks cook it in front of you. My friends advised me to pile the bowl as much cause it shrinks. I didn't pile it too high but enough where I was satisfied that I wouldn't waste food. Despite the less than favorable reviews, I went to Mongolian BBQ a few nights ago and am still thinking about how good my food was! Whoever was working cashier was nice, quickly handed me a bowl and said to use gloves while building my bowl. I put everything together and was out in less than 10-ish minutes. The man working the grill informed me that I needed more sauce, handed me my bowl and I dumped a few more scoops in. (Be sure to tip whoever is working the grill!) Having seen a lot of recent bad reviews I felt inclined to write my own since my experience was so dramatically different. You're still able to fix your own bowls with the gloves and separate tongs they provide. The only difference is that the cooks will scoop your sauces for you. All the staff members were super attentive and friendly. One of the cooks even suggested sauce selections for my younger brother. My family and I really like GK because their sauces are delicious and the food came out great as usual. We'll definitely come back for our Mongolian BBQ cravings! read more

After waiting 3 years since my last visit/review I decided to give them another try. I had heard that their restaurant isn't as dirty as I had experienced on my first visit. I walked in to a ton of dirty tables that hadn't been cleared off yet, oh well. We were promptly greeted by a nice lady at the front that wanted to know if we were having it to go or for there. We said for here and she directed us to the food bar. We went to grab bowls and couldn't find any bowls that didn't have food either spilled on them or had dried food from the last person who used the bowl. I come to this establishment on a regular basis, I would say at least once a month. I showed up on this occasion coming straight from work. I was met at the door by a waitress that kindly seated my group and myself. She took our drink order and I excused myself to use the facilities to wash my hands. The group of people I was with proceeded to begin building their bowls, while I walked over to the restroom located at the back of the Resturant. When I reached the restroom, I reached for the handle to find it locked. I patiently waited while the individual inside finished there business. Suddenly I heard the toilet flush, and within five seconds, the door swung open. I didn't think anything of it at the time, and proceeded into the restroom. When I attempted to wash my hands I found that they didn't have any soap in the soap dispenser. Frustrated, but hungry I rinsed my hands off and then head back out into the dining area. As soon as I broke the corner, I seen the guy that exited the restroom after flushing, but without washing his hands obviously without soap. He was now wearing a apron and was handling the food, refilling the condiments. I sat down and contemplated about saying something to the management, and decided that I didn't want to get anyone in trouble. I had a change of heart while I was paying for my meal and noticed a family that had just entered the Resturant and we're heading for the condiments that were being restocked by the who, but old stinky pinky!!!! I proceeded to ask the cashier who was in charge and she pointed out the manger. I explained the issue to him and expressed my concerns, to which he replied," huh". Family and I went here last night.. SERVICE: Fast, prompt and very friendly. Since we have never been to a Mongolian BBQ, they were real helpful on what to do. FOOD: The meat is unusual looking, almost freeze dried and rolled up like pork rhines.. but cooks up pretty good! Tasted great.. Now the cool part is you get to choose your food items like a buffet, so if it's a horrible combination, your fault! Once you gathered your items in your bowl you add your sauces to the bowl. I guess the seasoned veterans know what sauces mix well, etc.. but I played mine safe and went with all of them in one bowl! hahaha ATMOSPHERE: looks like a quick in and out place from the outside, but it's definately a sit down sort of establishment for dinner as it's all you can eat 9dinner only) lunch is 1 trip. PRICE: I believe we paid $8.85/each kids 5 and under eat for free so it was fairly in-expensive, esp. considering it was all you can eat! I would def. go back!!! This is one of those places that you fear on going to because it is sort of awkward to grab a bowl and fill it with noodles, meat, vegetable, sauce and let the cook heat it all up for you, but WORTH going once. read more

As far as the To-Go service goes, 5-star all the way. (I'm holding off on giving a full 5-stars until we've had a chance to sit down and eat there.) For $17.85, we each got a Chinese take-away box of our own dish, rice, fried wontons, and drinks. (That's $17.85 total for two people. At dinnertime. Our old faithful El Camino Mongolian BBQ in Santa Clara will run us at least $25 for dinner.) I was happy with the selection of meats and vegetables, and the noodles are good, too. The sauces station was clean and well set up, although I wish there was more garlic in the garlic tub (lots of garlicy juice, though). One person in our party was looking for a hot chili sauce, which we didn't see. I really like the shredded carrots instead of thick-cut ones, but wish the broccoli was cut thinner. But it's all good because they have whole peanuts, not just chopped. (Peanuts on noodles, delicious.) Unlike our usual place, you get one bowl here (oops, we all grabbed two out of habit) and everything is tossed onto the stone at the same time, instead of doing one turn around with the meat, then adding the veggies and noodles. My favorite place for lunch! Kind staff and good food. I always go here for lunch takeout and one to go box is enough for 2 people. So definitely worth the price. Also, I am very sensitive to spicy food (I know, I'm weak) and the chefs are willing to clean the grill for me if needed. Love this place! Also, I feel that all of the GK Mongolian BBQs are different... I went to the one in Turlock and the staff was super nice, but the flavor of their sauces were way different not to my liking. But this Tracy location is the best, and haven't had a bad experience yet after going at least once a week for over 5 years. read more

The person that works the register is nice but the guys that cook your food are not very friendly. I also noticed due to covid-19 there bathroom is closed. So people that are eating there do not have the option to wash there hands. They do have plastic gloves for you to use while making your food. I'm not sure how locking the bathrooms to costumers stop the spread! Maybe it's a way to not have to clean it. FYI the CDC wants you to wash your hands often with hat water. read more

There are many styles of bowl structure here that people use. My method I think will help out to put more flavor in your bowl. Start with your meat then head straight over to the sauce. My sauce combo is 2 bbq, 2 house, 1 lobster, too much garlic and 3 ginger with a drizzle of sesame oil and extra garlic powder. You must put enough sauce on there or else you will have the cook add water to it and dwindle your flavor. So sauce up. I also eat here about once a week. I had a good talk with the owner last night as he was hustling around and figured out that I started going to the March lane GK in 87...that was 22 years ago. Not much has changed and he must be doing something right. The only thing bad about last night I saw was it was too busy. He lost out on a family of 5 because of no where to sit. You can always fill up a bowl and take it home. This will always be one of my favorite spots. read more
