Gary came highly recommended! Even thou, I did notice his van everywhere in San Jose! I googled GK Plumbing to get Gary's number. His YELP PAGE popped up!!! I called him early in the morning and I was surprised that he answered. I heard loud background noise which means he was on a job site. I explained what issues that I was having and he advised he'd be by in a few hours. My issue- when ever I do laundry, my sinks have been filling up more and more lately while washing clothes. In the meantime, I cleaned out everything that was underneath the sink. Giving him room to work! I was surprise how much "crap" was under the sink!!?! Once Gary arrived, he assessed the job and thanked me for having room to work. I even removed the cabinet doors. Gary brought plenty of rags even though I was was feeding him paper towels to assist in cleaning up. He snaked out 2 lines, 1 under the sink and the clean out. Which is outside on my patio. After years of dish water goo, funk from the washing machine and who know what else...the pipes inner walls build up a sludge..... like clogged arteries in the human body. Gary has been around for a long time. He helped me with a clean On the side of my house and it was a really big help to me. He spent a couple hours just trying to clean it out that's how bad it was. He Is also a very good RC car builder and racer we went to Antioch a couple times and had some fun times on the track there is a great guy and I would highly recommend him for any plumbing job you may need. I was referred to Gary and GK Plumbing from some neighbors. My problem was relatively minor but did Gary come over and charge me and arm and a leg? No. He calmly explained the parts I needed to replace over the phone and sent me to a great plumbing supply to get the right parts. He even had me text him some photos of my plumbing to make sure I make the correct fix myself. He could have come over and charged me for the repair which would have cost me far more than I paid for the parts. Gary has done a few jobs for me over the years. Replaced my Hans Grohe kitchen faucet with a Moen. Stopped the flood in front of my house when the gasket between my main water line and the meter gave out. Just the other day I was putting something in the garbage and there was water...under the sink! I traced it to a leaking garbage disposal. So, I called Gary and headed down to Home Depot to look at disposals. While I was there Gary calls and makes a recommendation of which disposal will meet my needs. Met him back at my house and he took care of the install. One thing I found out while we talked is that he does drains!! I had been calling someone else when my drains backed up. I was so used to Gary doing more "specialized" work at my house I thought it would have been an insult to call him when the kitchen drain backed up. Well, I will not make that mistake again. First time with GK Plumbing and I was pleasantly pleased. I was in a bit of a bind and called 3 different business's. 1st one could not come out until 2-3:00 time frame. The second one never returned my call and then I called someone else who referred me to GK Plumbing and Gary answered the phone. He was here at 10:30 exactly when he said he would be. I have an amazing self fulfilling habit of overflowing my garbage disposal on days that I have a big event of lots of activity planned at my home. This often happens on holidays and Saturday or Sunday party days and last week end was no exception. I used his service on my water heater after I was ripped off by other company. PG&E broke the control panel on 12/31/14 and the first coming plumbing company tried to rip off us. So I sent the technician away. Then I left messages for him. He replied on 1/1/15 afternoon and promised to give me the first priority in service because I am still waiting for the part from water heater manufacturer. He came on time and fixed it. It was more complicated than he thought and he charged more. But he did explain and I am convinced. Will find him again definitely if there is issue with the plumbing. read more

First, I am an avowed do-it-yourselfer but have done enough plumbing over the years to know when to call in the professionals. Gary has done numerous jobs for me over the 20+ years I've been in my current home, both large and small, and I've never been less than completely satisfied with his work. He installed the cast iron tub in my upstairs bathroom - and let me tell you, it helps that neither of us are small men as getting that tub up the stairs was a job and a half...he's installed a ball valve for the main water access for the house and has replaced my water heater (replacing the anode rods with extra long ones so it will last longer). Gary is always on time and will honestly tell you if something is necessary or not, why it will/won't give you better/longer service, why paying more or less would be better, and always does it for a fair price. If you own a home, you know that finding professionals in the trades that you can trust to do the job every time is very difficult. Call Gary and you can add one to that list. read more

I've had Gary from GK Plumbing do plumbing repairs for me over the years. He is very knowledgeable, and professional. He always arrives on time, and his work is top notch. He recently replaced some leaky pipes in my front yard and also installed two full port red and white ball valves. This now makes it easier for me to shut the main water off and on, as well as the water to the sprinkler systems. The old valves were very hard for me to turn and were leaking very badly.
