I've been very happy with the work Water Quality Plumbing has done. I did a full repipe, hot water recirculation, water heater, water softener, and reverse osmosis installed by them, and what stood out to me was their focus on quality. Marty came out to look at my place and give me an estimate, and his focus was on doing things to code, passing inspections and solutions that would be reliable and stand the test of time. I liked that he immediately quoted for Type L copper pipes (I understand that Type M and PEX are generally good enough, but I did want something that would exceed being good enough). The piping took most of the working week, with water being shut off for only one day, which was fine since I had to be at work. The drywall fixing they did was excellent and just needs to be painted. There were a couple issues with the reverse osmosis install where the water wouldn't stop running, which after a few visits was determined to be missing a part of the drain flow restrictor that the manufacturer must have missed. HOWEVER, Water Quality Plumbing always came out each time on time and diligently tried to fix the problem until it was found. They weren't the cheapest, nor were they the most expensive of all the quotes I got, but they were reliable (always picked up the phone and scheduled time for me), professional, and friendly. All in all, a great company that I will call on again for my future plumbing needs! read more

I used Water Quality Plumbing to repair a leaky pressure relief valve on our water heater. I got an appointment within 24 hrs of calling, which was nice. Overall a good experience but a bit expensive, hence the minus one star. $180/hr rate plus a $20 driving fee seemed a bit steep. As did the mark up on the part itself. But you pay for what you get when you choose fast service. read more

Amazing company and I haven't even had them work on my home yet. Water Quality did work on my home 10 years ago well before I had purchased last year. I recently did other construction work and had a few questions about the scope they performed. Not only did they mention that they have a 25 year warranty on their work which is unheard of,they came out to inspect my home on the same day I called and requested. They are also extremely organized and Jordan was able to find and explain the original project scope to the tee and are providing the paperwork for my records. Marty came out to my house to give me a bid on replacing my old plumbing with copper plumbing. He said he would throw in two delta shower heads that were worth $450 each. I looked them up later on Amazon and they cost $50 each. They started the work Monday and finished Friday. The first leak I found was on Saturday. Water was pouring from an outside faucet. I called them for help and they are closed on the weekend. This was during severe drought. In my shower they replaced the faucets and they broke the tile without telling me. There is not one other tile in my whole bathroom that is broken except what they broke. I found three more leaks...two under the house. They came out to repair the leaks, but I would not recommend them at all. The quality of work was so poor and just telling me he was giving me a $450 shower head was a lie. read more

Jason the owner and staff Stephanie, Jordan and Sary were excellent. I had an issue with my water pressure in one of my bathroom faucets, which was the easy fix. They then found my toilet backing up and leaking which they replaced, but the bigger issues were roots in my sewer line. After speaking with Jason he laid out a stair step approach to snaking and using a auger to cut and remove the roots, which.solved the problem. He then recommended a install of a new clean out closer to where the house sewer pipes meet the clay pipes. When speaking to Chris and team he was not pushy about the extended prevention next steps, which I will do at a later time due to the evasive work involved -- cutting concrete, digging 6' down, etc. The team took the time to explain each steps, provided quotes and let me decide on the amount of work I wanted the team to take on. I was having problems with noisy pipes, intermittent water pressure in a shower, a washing machine that was not filling and a rattling water heater. I was afraid a costly piping fix was in my future. Louis from Water Quality Plumbing fixed the shower problem, the washing machine problem and flushed the water heater. He diagnosed a problem with the water softener. Writing this review as I wait for PG&E emergency services to come out to check out a gas leak in my house after the water heater was installed 4 hours ago by Water Quality Plumbing. My entire garage smelled like Sulphur. The fire department just left as well and diagnosed the problem to be an improper install of the gas pipe connected to the water heater. I was able to turn the nut securing the gas pipe to the water heater with my fingers - so clearly it was pure negligence on behalf of the installer that left me and my family in this dangerous situation. I tried reaching the 24 hour services for Water Quality Plumbing and got the following recorded message: "the service you are trying to reach has been restricted, please contact customer service"... and of course since it is Fri evening the customer service number goes to a mailbox! PLEASE FIX THIS WATER QUALITY PLUMBING. I was really looking forward to that hot shower but instead have to ensure my family is safe from a gas leak on a Friday evening as I wait for PG&E. UPDATE: PG&G just left and said that I'm lucky there wasn't an explosion! His notes read - "Repaired leak at water heater flex connection" UPDATE: I had the owner read this review and come out that very day to check out everything. He was sincerely apologetic about the episode and took the responsibility to make it right. I believe that your mistakes are new lessons for success and that's exactly how this business showed up! I had a clogged drain that probably needs snaking. My regular repair guy was unavailable, but he referred me to Water Quality Plumbing. I called on Friday morning, described my problem to the dispatcher, and was told that there was nobody available until Monday. On Monday, the repairman ran some water to confirm there was a problem, and went back to his van to get his equipment. When he returned, he said the equipment was missing and that I would need to reschedule with the office for the next day. I would understand if he had tried a bunch of things and then needed to get some very obscure equipment, but this less than 5 minute interaction was all he could do. It feels like Water Quality Plumbing was unprepared, even though they should have been. I suppose he gets credit for showing up on time, not trying to BS me, and explaining his diagnosis, but at the end of the day I still have a problem. The repairman did not wear a mask (or offer to); while he did wipe his feet at the door, he didn't have any coverings for his shoes or offer to remove them. read more

Worst customer service ever! The woman who answered the phone today was so rude, hanging up on me while on a call while I was asking a question. I think her name was Trina. Secondly, the plumbers who came out today suggested they didn't need to wear booties after I asked them because according to them my carpets were not clean. I told them, this wasn't there home to make that choice. How dare they suggest and even say that...Rude! The plumbers are out here changing the gas line and from what I can hear, they don't seem to know what they're doing. I heard him say, he was confused as to the proper gas line he needs to work on. Oh my! Will make sure I have PG&E come out before they leave to ensure all has been properly done. This is not the first time we've had this company out here. Not by choice as we live in an apartment complex. All experiences with this company have been unfavorable. read more

I had Water Quality Plumbing remove an old water softener and install a whole house filter and water conditioner for me. It was a fairly complex installation but Arnold, the plumber did a good job at it. And at every step, he asked me for feedback versus proceeding on his own. In the subsequent days, there were three different leaks in the system, but every time the company took full ownership of the issues and promptly sent a plumber to fix them at no extra charge. I greatly appreciate the fact that the company honored their 30 days labor and parts warranty without me having to argue with someone on the phone. One thing that I didn't like was that I wasn't given a breakup of the cost of the material used in the installation. I asked for it, but didn't get a clear answer from the installer. read more

Just wanted to update my review on Water Quality Plumbing. They came out after all and installed the new cartridge in my kitchen faucet, and made sure it was working well before they left. I've always had great work from them so am glad this all worked out well. read more

1st visit: Our kitchen faucet had become very stiff and difficult to turn on and off. We had them come out and they quickly confirmed that we needed to replace the faucet, as we suspected was the case. The plumber loosened the handle, which made it easier to turn on while we were waiting to purchase a new faucet. Unfortunately, we later discovered that doing that also disengaged the temperature control. Rinsing lettuce in warm water for almost 2 weeks was not the greatest. 2nd visit: Installed our new faucet, though at first didn't orient it properly so that it would not swivel to the left, and swiveled into the wall on the right. After he left, however, we found that there was water leaking under the sink from around the air gap. 3rd visit: Sealed around the air gap. As instructed we did not splash water on it for 24 hours. But, when we ran the dishwasher, we found that water was coming out of the air gap, which it is not supposed to do. 4th visit: Put the air gap back together the way it should have been. But after he left, we found the new caulking around the air gap was all messed up, either by the water coming out the airgap, or by the repair. 5th visit: Replaced the gasket and fixed the caulking around the air gap. It took nearly a month, but we are now satisfied with the repair. They never hit us with unexpected charges, were tidy, and came back willingly to fix the problems. Still, this should have been 2 visits, not 5. read more

This morning, as the technician finished the installation, water gushed out and created a mess in my new epoxy garage. Plumbers should inspire confidence and this technician did not. He did not even know to switch the on position on the tankless water heater. Time will tell whether the system will work effectively. There was no supervision so I am not very confident at this time. I would have given 5 stars to this business. But they screwed up themselves for few dollars. Hired this company to do a full repipe of the house and install new water softener that I bought from them. One of the plumbers damaged the bath tub while replacing the shower head; smartly put a patch and then denying it since then. After a long debate on over 2 months they agreed to bear 50% of the expense of tub repair and refinish. Lesson learnt: 1. Never pay the contractor in full until you get all the work done (period). They agreed to take care of the damage so I paid in full and regret ever since. 2. Inspect everyday's work thoroughly without fail. Positives: 1. Good quote for full repipe work. They were not the cheapest though. No issue with the repiping or water softener so far. 2. Release of Payment after the final city inspection was the important factor for choosing them for this work. 3. Business office staff is respectful and cool. Trina and/or Christina: you guys are awesome!!! 4. Sheet rock patching and was texture was done nicely. A very skilled chap whoever did that. Negatives: 1. Broke the tub and put a filthy patch and denied having done it. 2. Plumbing company owner walked my whole house with shoes on whereas the city inspector was wearing the shoe covers the whole time during the inspection. Extremely unprofessional. 3. We were unable to clean the tub coz of the patch and the plumbers declared the patch as old. Plumber who came to inspect the tub calls it "filthy". 4. Took 2 weeks to complete the repipe work. That means that either you cannot clean your house till all the work is done and consider it declared filthy by the plumbers or clean your home everyday. read more

I spoke with Jason at Water Quality Plumbing and he credited the second visit to better clean the line. I can understand the issues with a short warranty on clearing clogs (including old plumbing and continued customer misuse). At the same time, it wasn't out of line for us to expect a better job cleaning our newer drain line. I vacillated between four and five stars, with four due to taking two tries to clean the line, but as I commented earlier, everyone I dealt with there was professional. They were able to respond quickly and their price wasn't out of line so I'm going with five stars this time. I would consider using them again in the future, particularly for a larger job. read more

We moved into a historic house with a list of repairs - 1. Hot water wasn't working in a powder room 2. Two different bathroom faucets were missing handles 3. One shower head was missing and the attached bathtub wasn't working 4. Three sink stoppers needed to be installed 5. Hot drinking water faucet was not working 6. Steam shower was not working I was nervous about finding someone with experience who could handle antique fixtures in a historic home. I got an appointment within a week of calling and Jeff Pedro came over. He was great! For some repairs, the previous owner had pre-ordered parts and others, Jeff assessed what was needed and ordered parts. It's an old house, so a few issues needed investigation and one repair even resulted in old sink parts falling off. Jeff knew exactly what to do in each situation and fixed everything in our house. He had to return with parts on another day for some repairs on our list. He was professional, punctual and communicated ahead of each appointment. He was clean and didn't leave a trace.
