I contacted Almaden Valley plumbing coz I needed to change my kitchen faucet which wouldn't turn sideways to make the water hot/cold and the toilet bowl was making a hissing sound . These guys were prompt to respond and gave us an appointment next day . On the appointment day they came in before the scheduled time because some work fell off so they wanted to see if I want to get the work done earlier which actually worked better for my schedule . The guy who came was very friendly and knowledgeable. He checked the toilet bowl and found a piece which had some kinda knob which was not tight enough , so he tightened it and suggested that we don't change any pieces as everything looked good to him . That saved us a lot of money . He also gave us the estimate for changing the kitchen faucet beforehand and changing it took around an hour . These guys definitely don't try to get the money out of you unnecessarily and give a very reasonable pricing . I highly recommend them. read more

I contacted AVP because there are a lot of highly positive reviews of AVP here on Yelp, and also on Google reviews and Nextdoor. There's a general pattern in those positive reviews, and my experience was the same. So I won't repeat those reviews here. We had a significant leak in our townhouse slab. Mike came out to assess and was very familiar with both these types of leaks, as well as how the pipes were routed in the concrete back in the early 1970s. He recommended an above slab re-piping vs going in and digging into the slab and trying to repair those pipes. I had already decided that's what I wanted to do, so his recommendation was welcome confirmation. It was a big job - it took his crew 2 full days plus another day for drywall work. And it was not cheap, but his quote was fair given the high prices of everything in the Bay Area. I could have gone with a lower-estimate plumber, but I'm glad I didn't. Mike is a true professional and cares deeply about the work his crew delivers. He is a busy man running his business with multiple simultaneous clients, but he still regularly spent hours on our job guiding his crew and making sure their work was up to his standards. The reality is overhauling the entire water supply plumbing on the 1st floor of a townhouse is massively inconvenient for the home owners. And Mike and his team worked efficiently to minimize the time the water was off, communicated clearly with us on what we could use and not during every timeframe, and generally minimized the disruption as much as they could so we could live in our home while this work was going on. The final invoice was exactly what was quoted, the quality of the work exceeded my expectations, and the work started and ended exactly on the schedule Mike stated. This is a second review for Almaden Valley Plumbing. I have a rental home that had a mishap with the shower door being knocked off the frame and shattering in the tub. The damage was such that the entire tub needed to be resurfaced. The project required three different experts to handle the separate jobs: removing the shower door, removing the bath fixtures (and purchasing new ones for me), resurfacing the tub, installing the new fixtures, and finally installing the new shower door. "Almaden" was right in the middle of this train of events and were very accommodating in proving excellent service in their part of the journey. I live in another state and time zone and it all went off beautifully. Brendan was so responsive even texting me after hours. He handled everything with my tenant who was very pleased. Mike Brewer and his team were amazing! We had a slab leak in our townhome, and he came to our house to provide an estimate first and explained our options to us. We opted to do a re-pipe of our downstairs and his team was on-time, fast and thorough. He even included several things for us that we hadn't asked him to do. I'm still finding some of those things - he replaced an old toilet with a new one rather than put the old one back in once the new piping was completed, he fixed some leaking valves in the upstairs bathroom and also in the backyard. When the drywall repair person found a new leak, his team came back right away and fixed that leak for a fair price. Our water heater decided to give up the ghost a couple of days ago. We woke to no hot water on Tuesday morning, and water was in the water heater pan. Those are signs that the unit needs to be replaced. The first business that I called, which was from the water heater stickers that arrive in the mail from time to time, couldn't get someone to our place until Thursday at the earliest. I then remembered that Almaden Valley Plumbing is only a couple blocks from us, so I gave them a call shortly after 8AM this morning. Installed whole house water filtration system in our garage at substantial cost When I had to change the Carbon filter element, I discovered that the o-ring was oversize (not furnished with the new filter housing) and had actually been puttied (not recommended) into the slot, making it very difficult to replace. Over the last eight or so years, Mike and his team have replaced both toilets, cleared drains, installed a garbage disposal, replaced faucets, and the job which helps him remember me instantly, a hot water heater down steep steps in a half basement. I've had the HWH die, and he squeezed me in to his schedule so he could fix it, because nobody should be without hot water (his words). This guy has integrity and a heart of gold. Mike (owner) came to my house a month ago and installed a water heater. I have no complaints about the installation other than one minor issue. He left a long (perhaps 6 feet) tube behind. I called and asked if he could pick up it next time he was in the neighborhood. He said he'd try to remember, which means, no, it's too much trouble. I began seeing water leaking from my roof (thru a tube) a few weeks after the installation, something I've never seen in the 19 years I've lived here. I called the office and left a message for Mike. I called twice more over the next couple of days. He didn't call. I called his cell phone today and got his voice-mail; the message said "mailbox full." I called his office one last time and asked if there was anyone else who could answer a simple question. I was told no, Mike is the only "point of contact." I have no idea if the water leak is related to the water heater or something else, like the air conditioner. Mike should realize that repair and installation is just one aspect of customer service. Following up with a customer with questions or concerns is just as important. read more
