Cute ice cream shop in town! It is such a large space, and connected to a beer/wine/etc? Bar next door so it feels even bigger. I loved the murals on the walls, and they have several arcade games. Absolutely perfect ice cream. Locally sourced and they have a tremendous amount of care for the way it's handled and produced. A bit pricey as ice cream goes but absolutely worth it. Better than any of the fancy brands that you can get in a grocery store. I hit them up as regularly as is reasonable. We've been coming here ever since we moved to the Island. And there's a reason why we keep going back. The staff is always friendly and willing to give samples of any flavor they're scooping. They always have eight flavors (six regular and two dairy free) and the flavors always rotate (except for the toasted coconut, which is the year-round dairy free flavor). They don't have the largest selection of flavors, but the flavors they do have are always good. And their waffle cones are made in-house and are superb. The Yelp entry for Glass Bottle Creamery has it listed as temporarily closed however walking past the business this past weekend that was certainly not the case. Since it was open and doing very good business we dove in here to make sure we could try some of ice cream here. It has been about four years since our last trip to Vashon Island and there wasn't really a good excuse not to have gone sooner but I also had plenty of family crisis going on to do much also. The ice cream shop definitely has a retro feel to it and there are arcade games throughout the place and were very popular at the point of us entering the place. They had several different kinds of ice cream where they could serve you three different flavors of soft serve ice cream and then others in a case where they scoop it out for you. They also had ice cream containers to go also. I got the Ginger flavored ice cream while Steve got the Coffee flavored ice cream which both were in the case. The flavors pleasantly noticeable, vibrant and fresh. Especially with my ginger flavor where the ginger chunks in it had an occasional bite of fire but was tempered very nicely with the cream. All in all it was very well balanced. Steve got a coffee flavor. His was just a single scoop like mine but that coffee flavor was enough to knock your socks off. That one should've been one best shared or a smaller scoop as you definitely had to take your time with it. It reminded me of eating a small bag of chocolate espresso beans. I wouldn't word the coffee flavor in the form of a complaint. It said it was coffee flavored and that's what it was and it did that quite successfully. I'd love to try some more of their flavors from the case since I liked the ginger one so much and hopefully my next visit won't be another four years down the road but life sometimes has plans for you you don't expect. At least enjoying ice cream like this adds a pleasant pit stop along the way. read more

Service is friendly enough. They will let you taste-test the flavors. They offer chocolate and vanilla soft serve and have a couple dairy free options, and only about 6 or so ice cream flavors. I was underwhelmed by the quality and flavor of several of the ice creams. The cookie dough and matcha tasted a bit freezer burnt. They had one called Candy Carousel that tasted a bit like fruity pebbles. It was tasty but too sweet for the mood I was in. I opted for the mint chip, my typical go-to flavor, without testing it first. I liked that it wasnt bright and artificially green. I have to say it wasn't bad! It took several bites for my brain to create new pathways to process the flavor. Rather than a classic artificial mint flavor, it tasted like it had ground up natural mint leaves in it. The chocolate chips were small and crunchy. I like when the chocolate melts on your tongue which these did not. However, the pleasant surprise of the natural mint flavor really redeemed this place for me. read more

The soft serve machine was broken so no chocolate, vanilla, or swirl. The waffle cones were both stale and gummy at the same time, how is that possible? If I were to get a scoop, I would have gone with the pistachio. It has a natural pistachio flavor (and no artificial coloring) with a strong honey flavor from the honey swirl. A combination of a tarty sweet flavor. I enjoyed it so much but later that day I got sick with of course - GERD! Msssssh, what a bummer! I should have know better that sorbet is more acidic than a regular ice cream. Bandit got the strawberry ice cream which is equivalently yum as my apricot sorbet while my Tita D got two scoops of vanilla and cardamom peach swirl which is undoubtedly addicting! Stopped in on a hot Saturday while walking around downtown Vashon. The shop is bright and cute. Service was not super friendly but adequate. The ice cream however was really disappointing. My son got a scoop of Strawberry which he seemed to enjoy and my husband and I each got small soft serves in a cup. I really wish I had taken a picture because the serving was laughably small. It was seriously less than half the size of any other small soft serve I have ever gotten anywhere in my life. It was literally one swirl across the bottom of the bowl. If it had been mind blowingly delicious soft serve, I could have looked past the tiny portion size but it was not good. The texture was off and it seemed like there were fat granules that had separated in the soft serve. I know there are other options in the area and we were really disappointed that we had decided to stop here. read more

This teeny and adorable ice creamery on the main drag was just the perfect thing on a hot day. They list their flavors on the window outside - that day they had eight flavors: Theo chocolate, vanilla, black tea, strawberry, peach cardamom, marionberry oat, apricot sorbet, and toasted coconut. I only got one flavor/scoop of ice cream and I regret it - I wish i had gotten a second scoop/flavor lol. We found out about this place because of the Yelp Passport to Vashon event that allowed us to get a free ice cream cone. I walked in and saw the diner seating which was pretty cool all by itself, but look around and this place is super cool. They have neon signage, Banksy-type graffiti on the walls, and more importantly, they had an old school arcade thing going on. sis played Ms. PacMan as we waited for our cones and I played Dr. Mario, which I haven't played since the original Nintendo NES. It reminded me of a mini Neon Retro Arcade in Pasadena. They even had a machine to break dollar bills into quarters so you can get your kids out of your hair while you eat. I ordered the thin mint, which was a white mint ice cream with chocolate wafer cookies mashed into it and it was pretty good. Cute and tiny homemade ice cream shop on the island! I have tried to come here several times but always found it closed, but I finally tried it, and it's yummy! I found the prices reasonable by Seattle standards, but I know locals consider it expensive. Got a kids scoop of Thin Mint, a single scoop of coffee, and a single scoop of sorbet. The Thin Mint was amazing and just the right size for my toddler. The coffee looked like it was going to be strong but was just right. The sorbet, while I'm told tasted good, needed a little help - since it's made without dairy, it's awkward and clumpy. There's a cute little bench right outside to sit and enjoy your ice cream. Parking is on the street or nearby parking lots. The flavors seem to change often, so I'm excited to try what else they make. Will definitely be back, especially during the summer months! read more

Loved this cute, quaint creamery! The staff were friendly and allowed me to try a couple different flavors of ice cream before choosing. I got Theo's chocolate and the strawberry balsamic swirl on their waffle cone. Although I couldn't taste the balsamic much, the ice cream was thick and creamy and the small chunks of strawberry were so good! I preferred it over Theo's chocolate. Their waffle cones were tasty, but the ice cream easily permeates through and the seam of the waffle cone wasn't as tightly sealed as other ice cream shops so the ice cream leaked within 5 minutes down the side of the seam and through the tip. Aside from the mess and having to scarf down the ice cream much quicker than I would've like, the flavors were delicious. Next time I'll be trying their ice cream sandwiches! read more

First off, ice cream was fantastic! The cookies and cream was a big hit with my 2 boys. I am dairy free and the sorbet was a blessing in the heat! Only thing was when we tried to get ice cream at the cute bike in the front of the store the girl and boy running the stand were too busy getting "handsy" (putting it lightly) with each other to notice us even after I tried to get their attention. It was in the peak of strawberry fest so it was quite loud. We ended up just going inside instead. I have no doubt that this is the best ice cream I have ever eaten. Excited to try the combination of strawberry and balsamic in ice cream form, I ordered a single scoop of the frozen dessert in a cup. Rich and creamy, the vanilla base of my ice cream was thick and sweet and perfect, and it was obvious that the cream was of excellent quality. The chunks of flavorful berries were plentiful and made each bite of ice cream interesting and scrumptious. Although the balsamic was seemingly missing, I didn't mind too much, for I had been slightly concerned that the vinegar might overpower the sweet, subtle taste of the ice cream. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with Glass Bottle Creamery, and if ever I return to Vashon Island, I will certainly return for some more of their amazing ice cream! read more
