They are willing to make your bevvy dreams a reality. In retrospect, some of the flavor combinations I've suggested are nightmares. But, I am a Goblin. The interior has themed rooms which are kept clean by Seattle and Goblin standards, but would be considered fairly dirty anywhere in Japan. It can get busy on the weekends, but this Goblin knows what it's like to be slammed, so I wait patiently and be respectful. It's nice to see an unpretentious flavor forward cafe run by young women doing so well. Their Hazelnut lattes don't lack flavor and taste like you "don't get it". Their coffee tastes like you were finally invited to the dance. While the market has decided that a Goblin will pay at least $8 for a coffee now, I'll fight back my Goblin tears and say "WORTH IT, WORTH IT, YOU ARE WORTH IT!". The matcha also contained a lot of high quality matcha flavor and some grassy notes, and was probably some of the best matcha soft serve I've tried so far. A lot of matcha soft serve I have tried in the past, usually tastes of lower quality matcha or diluted flavors. However at Matcha Man, it's clear that attention to detail and quality shine here. The miso caramel topping was also absolutely divine. Buttery, complex, and with just the right amount of char/miso balance similar to the soft serve but more concentrated. My only complaint is that I would have preferred the shortcake crumble to be larger pieces of shortcake, but very minor. Overall this place was excellent. I love that they have a "box" option where the soft serve comes in a takeout-like box, making it much easier to eat.

Can't really taste the coconut as the peanut flavor is a tad stronger but the pandan is definitely there. Very subtle and not overpowering. I'm indifferent about the peanut flavor and if given the option would use less since it does kind of drown out other flavors. Overall really delicious though! -Strawberry Crunch Cake: 4/5 reminds me a lot of strawberry cheesecake. There is chunks of cake mixed into the ice cream and it's really nice. I was hoping it was going to be like the strawberry shortcake but still not disappointed. -Rose Milk Tea: 2/5 really really strong. I really enjoy lavender and thought I'd enjoy rose just as much. You place an order starting the Sunday before to be picked up anytime 1-3pm the following Sunday at The Station Coffee shop next to the Beacon Hill light rail station, so I did precisely that last week to try to Rose Milk Tea and Ube Marshmallow flavors. At $14 a pint (phew tax included!), it is quite pricey though these are local and Kryse herself makes the ice cream in small batches. It is definitely in line with premium ice cream, with a nice complex mix of flavors, some of them quite innovative. Rose Milk Tea - 3/5 I love how they have rose petals actually mixed in, and the flavor is quite fragrant. However, the batch of ice cream for this is a bit powdery and flaky, so it wasn't smooth like it should be. This ice cream was also a bit too sweet for me. Ube Marshmallow - 5/5 Anything with ube is great, but this ice cream flavor takes it up a notch! Although I placed the order for this apparently hours after they launched the upcoming week's orders, this flavor was not sold out, but it instantly sold out this week for the upcoming week. The marshmallow has a nice roasted flavor that pairs really well with the ube itself. It is also not as sweet as the Rose Milk Tea - "not too sweet" my favorite level of sweetness. I will likely prepare in advance and order these ice cream again, as the flavors seem to be rotating quite often, though I will reserve it for celebrations and special occasions as the prices are a bit high to treat this as a "stress-eat" ice cream.

So this…read moreisn't a cute little ice cream shop - Seattle Sorbets is run by the food entrepreneur and proprietor of a small but mighty commercial kitchen rental in West Seattle, very easy to get to - so you will be buying prepacked pints of sorbet to go from a commercial kitchen's door. This does mean that they are the perfect temperature to eat once you get home. We came home with the Seattle Restaurant Week special (seriously, go now and get this, it's worth it) as well as pints of the other two flavors they make. The Mango Sunset was co-opted by someone in the house and they have clearly spelled out that they are NOT sharing it and no one else can eat it. It is delicious, a delicate mango flavor with a raspberry swirl that has already been mined out of the mango by the non-sharing-person. The Chocolate sorbet ... wow. I usually dislike chocolate sorbets and this one is rich and toothsome and deliciously chocolatey. It is excellent. It meets and exceeds the chocolate happiness bar. The Raspberry Merlot is a yummy, fully flavored raspberry; the Orange Champagne is delicious and would be perfect as the intermezzo palate cleanser between courses, served at a fancy restaurant. And the favorite of two other folks in the house, and that's gone already, was the Tequila Lime. Next time we go get sorbet we're going to get two pints of this one. OMG. With all of these, you can really tell that they are made with fresh juices. There's a flat processed flavor that you get out of so many lime drinks, so many lemon beverages, from tinned mangos - and the freshness of these sorbets is outstanding.
