Manager handled situation / under pressure extremely poorly My folks usually come here for Sunday brunch, my father ordered the bottomless mimosas. As he kindly asked the server for a refill on his mimosa throughout his meal... once we got the bill, the bill had several charges for mimosa rounds instead of the bottomless, & server said she didn't hear he said the bottomless. Even though he kept asking for a refill on his same mimosa? You would think to just put two and two together, & think they would want bottomless because why would we pay for several rounds of mimosas when there's a bottomless option? Ok. No problem! The manager comes out, my father was a little upset so I tried to kindly and respectfully voice my fathers concerns towards the manager. Respectfully we STILL paid the 6 rounds of mimosas that Glasspar charged. & Instead of hearing our concerns as we were trying to apologize for the inconvenience... the manager just walked away while we were still talking to her... We went to Glasspar for our 25th wedding anniversary. We told the waiter and he barely acknowledged it. The food was good but an exorbitant price. The restaurant has a great atmosphere. The location is great. It's a cute little place. Our waiter was kind and my large party was accommodated and sat for service quickly. The food was just ok . I didn't have anyone in my party say their order was amazing or delicious. Let's start with water. I felt the water had a bad taste but I didn't mention it until someone in my party noticed it as well. They found the water SALTY i just felt like the water tasted like pool water. My order came with a salad, steak,and dessert. The salad lettuce tasted bad . Im not sure how to explain the flavor it had. The steak didn't taste good either .We went with a party of 15. Three orders were forgotten but I understood because we were a large party. What is not acceptable is that I had to remind the waiter about 3 of the orders. Then remind him again about 1 order. I had to remind again about the same order For the 3rd time. Finally, then the order came out it was incorrect. Once again I had to go ask the waiter for assistance with the order because one of the sides was incorrect. The final order came out last. Last as in every single person in my 15 person party was finished eating type of last .Someone in my party ordered milk for her child. He didn't drink his milk so his mom decided to taste it. She said the milk was sour. There just a tad too many negatives here.I would like to end with a positive comment and say that the french fries and ketchup were tasty. Our server, Stacy, was incredibly attentive and helpful with her recommendations. We sat at the oyster bar, which allowed us the really cool chance to see the crew shucking oysters. The oysters were fresh and DELICIOUS, and the entrees came quickly, hot, and full of flavor (my husband highly recommends the tomahawk pork chop). The atmosphere was perfect for my husband and I: busy but not overwhelming. We were able to carry conversation without having to shout or struggle to hear each other. Overall, a fantastic experience. I came here for dinner with family earlier this week and everything was great. We walked over from the marina but there was plenty of parking in their lot. We had reservations and were seated right when we arrived on the patio. The patio was perfect for us as we had two kids and a baby. It was covered and had heaters as well as roll up sides. It's perfect for a large party yet intimate enough for a date (go walk along the harbor after)! Our waiter was great and attentive. He constantly checked on our party. The food came out quickly. Everything was delicious! I love bone marrow and was so happy to see it on the menu. The duck fat fries were also good. My entree was a great choice. I loved the ahi tuna. My sister and I took our mother to Glasspar for Easter brunch. The service was good and the ambiance was very nice. My mom loved her French toast. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles. I've had better. The chicken was soggy, not crunchy. The server offered a new batch, which was nice. I ended up taking the nuggets home to be air fryer later. The $17 carrot cake was very small (3in x 4in) but taste good. My sister enjoyed her lobster roll. Overall, a meh meal. read more

We had drinks at the bar before dinner, enjoying near solitude in the place at 5 PM. That was surprising, given they have a pretty good happy hour. We sat down to eat dinner early and watched the place quickly fill to capacity. We started by sharing some oysters, offered at a special price on Thursdays. For dinner,my friend had the cod, which was very flavorful in a spicy Thai sauce, and I had the succulent scallops. I was in the mood to have a couple drinks after work when I was suggested Glasspar. It's in a prime location across the street from the Dana Point Harbor and has been there for four years. I made my way straight to the bar and was greeted by Nefta who was the bartender. He served me a water and ask what time I wanted to try first. I've never been here so I told him I like tequila. He made me a drink called 'smoke on the water' which was made with a smoked tequila and pineapple juice. The drink itself was very strong but tasted smoky yet refreshing! After finishing the first drink, Nefta made me their house margarita which came with a cilantro rim. This too was very delicious and the tequila went down smooth. After trying some of their drinks, it was time to try some food. One of the items that I got was the salmon tartare which I've never tried before. I was pleasantly surprised how refreshing this tasted and felt on my stomach. The other dish I tried was a risotto which was a solid 11/10! To finish off the night I decided to try their Liquid Candy IPA which went down very smooth for an IPA! The servers and bartenders were all very personal with me which made the experience more enjoyable. Halfway through I talked to some Glasspar natives and even met two of their investors! Food is most definitely okay here. Not great, not something I aspire to come back to but okay. Service was efficient, ambiance and decor of the restaurant is pleasant, and fits the profile of a touristy restaurant near a harbor. As noted above, I'm not going to complain about the food. Had the Clam Chowder and it was okay, just like campbells canned clam chowder is. Has the seared Ahi and it was okay, as above not great buy okay. Will we come back? Maybe sometime, but there are plenty of other new places we've not been to yet. When we're ready to return maybe there will be a new place here. read more

Came here with a group of friends on a cold rainy evening. I was surprised to see it so busy. It was easy to find a parking space and only a short walk to the entrance. We had reservations and were seated in a nice booth. We started with calamari and Mac n cheese for appetizers. They were both excellent. The calamari came with a cocktail type dipping sauce and a spicy thousand island style sauce. I recommend both! I ordered the grilled scallops for my entree and they were delicious! It came with parsnip purée and pork belly. It was so tasty, I would get again. A friend of mine ordered the ahi tuna. Unfortunately, it was too spicy, however the restaurant took them back and brought her a new one without the spice. She loved it. We shared two desserts. A chocolate Bundt cake with coconut ice cream was my favorite...it was so moist and I loved the crunch of the toasted coconut. The other dessert was carrot cake. It was very good and full of nuts. The noise level can get pretty loud as it gets busy and the bar was hopping too. The place is clean, the staff are all friendly, and the service was very good. I was disappointed when they charged a $25 corkage fee for each of two bottles. ($50). I had checked the website and it said corkage was $15. I also mentioned to the staff when we were seated about the $15 corkage and they agreed it was $15. It's very frustrating when something like this happens. I bought $100 gift card online for my dad for Christmas on the website. It said buy $100 gift card and get a $20 gift card. I never received the $20 gift card when I called the restaurant. They said it's only if you go in store but on the website where I purchased the card, it said by $100 gift cards and get $20 gift card. I have purchased cards for other restaurants in the past online with the same deal and have always received the $20 gift card at this restaurant. I did not receive the card and when I called them, they told me it was only if you buy it in the store. I asked them why is it on the website where you're purchasing the gift card if you not get the $20 they proceeded to tell me that you have to come in and buy the gift card at the store so they did not honor the additional $20 gift card which was posted on their website. This is false advertising and I will not be buying any more gift cards or going to this restaurant. I think everyone should know about the false advertising and the management not honoring the $20 when $100 gift card was purchased. read more

Excellent food. Excellent happy hour! Great for a day after the beach. We had oysters, tacos, champagne and a couple other dishes during happy hour and still go out for under $50 (including tax and tip) at happy hour. While the inside is nice, we much preferred the huge covered patio as it felt like we were on vacation in some Caribbean Island. We were a party of five and started off with an appetizer of calamari and an order of shrimp cocktail for the table. We then enjoyed 2 Tuna Melts, 2 Fish and Chips and one order of shrimp and tomato papardelle. The decor in the restaurant was beautiful. If there was anything constructive criticism I would say that more than just ice cream for dessert would be needed. At least have a couple of options available. Glasspar has been on my list to try for some time. Finally some friends suggested it for a double date and we tried it out. I like the ambiance both inside and outside. We had a snag upon arrival as the reservations were actually made for the wrong date. The two young hostess at the front did such a great job politely working with us and soon seating us. The service was superb! Our waitress checked on us every opportunity she had yet also didn't interrupt our conversations and gave us some great recommendations. We started with some grilled octopus (highly recommend). A few of us had salads and lobster rolls (highly recommend) and one of us had cod. The lobster rolls were good, the cod not exactly what was expected but maybe it's someone's thing. We ended with a chocolate lava cake dessert, but I was so full I didn't even take a bite. They devoured it quickly so I assume it was good. We all had a Mai Tai, which were strong and good. This ended up being a great place for a date night. We will return! read more

We have a foodie friend in town from Chicago. We took her to Glaspar tonight and we had an awesome dinner. She ordered the lamb loin. It was perfectly cooked, tender, juicy and flavorful. My husband had the Maple Leaf Farm Duck breast. It was cooked medium rare to perfection. The vegetable accompaniments were delicious. I ordered the steamed clams from the happy hour menu. Best clams ever. Fresh and cooked with slivers of fresh garlic in a savory broth. The wine and beer choices were reasonably priced and complimented the entrees. Great service and plenty of parking.
