I had the best pot pie last night!!!! Randomly decided to stop by for dinner with my husband and I'm so happy we did! We sat at the bar and got great service!! We started with the eggrolls which are to die for!! The portions are also large. We took some of these home. The pot pie was my absolute favorite!!! We also had the rattlesnake pasta which is a must try!! I can't wait to come back and try another dish because the pot pie tasted like my granny prepared it for me lol Huge parking lot with plenty of parking. The bathrooms are clean and the restaurant itself is very nice. Cute date night spot or just a good dinner place! Definitely something for everyone on the menu. They also have live entertainment on certain nights!
Another great visit. We love coming when there is live jazz. We had a nice table in the corner and our waitress was sweet and attentive. Fast service is a Godsend, especially when you're hungry. My NY strip was cooked correctly and had a great flavor. I opted for spinach and green beans, which were decent. Hubby had a very good bistro steak salad. The winner that night was the dessert-apple pie! It was deep dish style in a small cast iron and topped with a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream. Lots of caramel flavor which was great again the slight tartness of the apple. We were even able to take a little bit home it was so large!
3.5 stars. First, why did they change their name even though everything is still branded as the Stanford? The dishes, glass etching, decor, everything! The jazz band made the evening super special. The other patrons are super classy. There was a short 15 min wait even for a Sunday night and I can see why. The prime rib was delicious. The rotisserie chicken was delicious. The cornbread was good but just okay. Lots of good chunks of corn. I normally don't like green beans but they did a great job. The staff were super kind and welcoming. It's a little weird to get to. You have to go through roundabouts for no reason but you eventually get there. It's huge so you can't miss the ridiculously red sign.
Early dinner at Glenwood's on a bustling weekend was truly enjoyable and the hospitality staff were fantastic from start to finish. Seating options vary while booths fit for business meetings or elbow distance with family and friends. Live jazz music fill the air at 6pm. Greeted by Shine at the host stand sparked the start of our experience, fully engaged and calm, she promptly sat us at our booth. Beautiful smile! Immediately, Brian introduced himself to let us know he wasn't our server, but wanted to take care of our cocktails and beverages as we settle. Nice touch. As we looked over the menu, Christopher our master server, came bearing gifts with our cocktails and waters - Elite margarita, Peartini, Sweet Heat, and Glenfiddich. To start off, we chose the Fiesta rolls. These arrived piping hot and plated nicely. Golden and packed, the rolls were crisp and seasoned well. The sauce added a twist to the delicious bite. For dinner, Eastern Shore style crabcakes, Barbeque pork ribs, and Coca cola beef ribs all arrived plated well and hot. The jumbo lump crabcakes were delicious with zero filler. The size and sides of these could be redefined given the price, otherwise great entree and a popular one. Fall off the bones and draped in que sauce, the pork ribs were meaty. Slightly charred on the ends, only 4 bones of the rack left to take home it was on point. The Coca cola ribs were fork tender and generous in portion. Only served on the weekends, this is a fabulous option and worth the fast. I'm still not sure how we managed to have room for dessert, but the bread pudding and the chocolate uprising suddenly appeared on the table and was nearly devoured. Yes, we did ask for a scoop of vanilla bean, because traditional or not, who will argue that bread pudding is just better with it? While the size is intimidating, it is plenty share of luscious pudding. Someone's hands got slapped reaching for the chocolate uprising and well, uprising it caused and it was a healthy share of sweet endings on a wonderful dinner gathering. The team that took care of us were impeccable, balance and attention at its best. Glenwood has a dedicated parking lot and ADA access throughout with ramps and ample spaces in the front. Highly recommend and be sure to confirm your reservations.
I will start with the amazing! The service is always top notch here. Super friendly, extremely observant, and know how to expertly guide you around the menu. They also let you know that the chefs are putting new gloves on all the time due to people who have allergies. That's very comforting to know. The restaurant is clean and the seats are comfortable. So all of that gets five stars. My blueberry pancakes, were not so good. The pancakes had a feature of wet cement and lacked flavor. They needed more salt or something. The maple syrup was good but I should had asked for more because these pancakes desperately needed it. This was probably an off day for them but we will see for when I go next time.
I have been to Glenwoods (formerly Stanford grill) many times. The food is consistently good and the mood of the place feels upscale and for special occasions even though my family gets take out regularly. Today I went for brunch for the first time and it was good. I got the harvest salad which was good. My mom said her eggs Benedict was ok. They were very good at accommodating my children and making substitutions. If you haven't been it's definitely a place to check out.
I came here for my Birthday today. I picked this restaurant because every time I been here is always a pleasant dining experience. Today's visit......Yikes. It was horrible, Terrible just unpleasant. My night was ruined by dining here. I ordered an appetizer that I never received. Ordered a round of drinks and after 45 minutes, I couldn't not order another round. Our food arrived promptly, But our never checked with us if the food came out fine. The server took our order and I didn't see him again. I had to go to the bar and asked another Employee to check me out. The Manager came out and talked to me, But it was too late. My visit was ruined. I do appreciate the Manager taking the time to talk to me. Final thoughts, I would never come back to this place again. It's fine dining with poor service. I never give business a bad review unless you earn it. I don't recommend this restaurant. My visit here was on July 7, 2026@ 7 pm.
My husband and I shared a special occasion at Glenwood's on a busy Sunday evening. Reservations are highly recommended. We were graciously greeted and upon entering, met with a trio of musicians playing soft jazz tucked in a corner part of the restaurant. They were very good though we did request be seated further away in the main dining room. ****Kahlua & Milk was delicious. ***** Calamari Fritti- generous mound of perfectly fried pieces in a light batter with just the right tenderness, slightly chewy goodness, flavored well with melted Parmesan cheese and fresh herbs. Marinara sauce enhanced each bite. ***** Prime rib roast was much enjoyed. It came with green beans but I wanted a baked potato and it is not listed as a side dish, our waiter offered it as an "off menu" choice. The well loaded baked potato was presented as a mile high delight of melting butter with dollops of sour cream heaped with bacon bits and fresh herbs. It was served at room temperature instead of piping hot. There were the usual au jus and horseradish sauces for dipping. I went with the 16 oz. cut that was perfectly seasoned at medium rare but served pretty cooled down instead of hot. The planned left overs came home with me as well as fresh containers of the dipping sauces. ***** Hardwood Grilled Atlantic Salmon came with a side of tabbouleh salad and a house made dressing which he completed and enjoyed. ***** "Tiramisu cheesecake" and "Key Lime Pie" were good sized portions and topped with fresh whipped cream. Both were creamy, smooth and not overly sweet when they were tasted. This was a special occasion and we did splurge. The one thing why I could not give this a five star for, is that the prices listed on their web site do not match what was listed on their actual menu. I think there should be no surprises that could detract from an otherwise enjoyable time that we shared.
Lovely place! Huge interior and its own parking lot, but if you arrive during prime dinner time on a weekend you might have to park in the adjacent lot that's normally for a business - this is open in the evenings and weekends for additional parking. Large interior and nicely decorated. The food is delicious and chicken is definitely their specialty. The Rotisserie chicken looked like half a chicken (bone in), some of my friends got the chicken pot pie and said it was incredible, and I got the rattlesnake pasta which was excellent! The portions are huge here, I got a box for my pasta and our server was so sweet and asked if I wanted extra sauce to take home since some would be left on the plate. The only negatives were crowded parking lot, sort of loud interior, we had to wait ~10 minutes after our reservation to be seated, and personally I would rather have less food and lower menu prices; however, overall our group really enjoyed Glenwood's and they were very accommodating for our party of 10 (note: one check and gratuity is added for this large a party)!
Came for a casual dinner. Had a great time. Lively atmosphere, they were pretty crowded at around 4pm already. Decent portions of food, tasty and flavorful . We ordered pasta, burgers, sides and cocktails. Price is on the $$$ side but you get what you pay for. Quality of meat and pasta was wonderful. Service was attentive and friendly. Adriana did a fantastic job. Convenient location with ample private parking spots. Will return. Highly recommend.
We had a a patron walk by our table and comment "you have the two best items on the menu!" Needless to say, we left the restaurant very full and quite content. What we got: Biscuits (special) - 3.5* my partner loved these more than me. I thought they were good, just not exceptional. The honey butter was a nice addition. Barbecue pork ribs - 4.5* delicious ribs, fantastically thin and crispy fries, and a well paired slaw. Would 10/10 recommend. Chicken pot pie - 4.5* another delicious dish. We loved the portion and how it was served in a mini skillet. It has a hint of curry flavoring but for those who don't like curry I don't think it'll be off putting, it tasted wonderful. The crust was also flaky and perfect.
Came here for a business lunch and wow, was it packed! I took that as a good sign and I wasn't disappointed. I originally wanted to get the steak frites and then changed my mind as soon as I saw the rotisserie chicken in the turning in a glass window near the kitchen. The chicken was so flavorful, juicy, seasoned well and was exactly what I was hoping for. The inside of the restaurant is dimly lit with just the right amount of sunlight peaking through the windows. Service was great, allowed us to enjoy our meals but also checked in on us twice. Definitely a spot I will add to my recurring list.
summary: solid upscale American-style dining restaurant. Fancy-ish and a great spot to celebrate or have a date night. Previously known as the Stanford Grill, it was rebranded into Glenwood's and I was curious to check it out. Went for a lunch date and the service was professional and kind. There was ample seating and patio dining as well. The patio/outdoor area overlooks a freeway, so I don't really know how great that is as a dining experience. The indoor venue is nice with fancy decor and nice touches like fireplaces. The food was well balanced and had a lot of options to choose from. The drink menu was in the same boat where there were a lot of solid options for all different tastes. All in all, I thought it was a positive experience. I wouldn't say there's necessarily anything unique or mind-blowing that sets it apart from other restaurants, but for American cuisine, it's a solid choice with variety to pick from.

This was our first time trying this restaurant. The staff was very friendly and helpful about going over the menu. We ordered a rotissere chicken, pot pie, fiesta egg rolls and squash bisque. Everything was very flavorful and tasty. The staff was exceptional as I didn't have to ask for anything because they were either refilling drinks or providing directions to the restroom before requested. I will definitely be back! read more
The service and atmosphere here are amazing. I perfect place for a date night or a girls night while eating delicious food. I had the ribs, one of their signature entrees, and substituted the coleslaw for the bacon Mac & cheese. Both dishes were extremely flavorful and there was enough for me to eat for lunch the next day too. read more

I came here for my birthday dinner since it's my family's go to restaurant. I don't personally like corn bread in general, but I actually enjoy the one they serve here since it doesn't taste so artificially corny. The spinach and artichoke dip is always wonderful and didn't disappoint either. We got a tomato bisque to share, and the servers brought out three spoons for us without even asking, which was wonderful. As for the meal, I got a T-bone pork chop, which was one of the specials that day. I thought the pork chop was okay, but the acorn squash that came with the pork was amazing! My gf got the prime rib, and my mom got the stanford chicken. I stole a bite or two from them, and the dishes certainly did not disappoint. For the dessert, we got a giant fudge sandwich with ice cream in the middle. It was a bit hard to cut, but I would honestly say that was the highlight of the day and would get it again. For my previous visits, I would have given it a five stars, but this particular visit was a bit below what I'm used to expecting from Stanford, so I have to give it a four star!! read more

Always a favorite spot for brunch with my girlfriends! The restaurant itself is very big and clean. The live music always adds a very nice vibe and feel. Service is always prompt and polite! We always order the french toast, which never disappoints. I got the Crabs Benedict this time and it was SO GOOD. The savory on top of the sweet corn cakes were the perfect combo! read more
The last time we were here a couple of years ago, the place was hopping, they had happy hour & the ambience was nice & inviting. This place now caters for the 40 & above crowd. I would have given it 3 stars but the cocktails we had were very well made, the calamari was deliciously tender, lightly breaded & the marinara sauce dip was very good! The bartenders were very attentive & they even gave us a couple of wine tastings. Hence, the 4 stars. read more

I honestly was wondering why the ribs were so expensive and after giving it a try, I see why. The ribs are lean, and falls right off the bone. It's also a pretty good size, although I almost finished it in one sitting. The sides are very big too. I enjoyed the mashed potatoes. Picking up the food was seamlessly easy. You pull up to the front and text them your name and they bring it right out. I'll definitely dine in soon. read more

The food is tasty. We had cornbread, ribs, pasta, burger. We like the shoe string fries and the coleslaw. I couldn't finish my plate because it's good enough for two person. There's not a lot of selection, no crab cakes or calamari. This place was busy during lunch time. I'll give it a 4 read more

My family and I made reservations for a Saturday at 5:30pm. We waited about 3-4 minutes while they got our table together. We were seated in the patio area all the way to the right. The entire restaurant was packed, so I advise you made reservations if you have a decent sized party. We were seated promptly. One of my family members never dined at Stanford, so our server was kind enough to explain who they are and how things are run. Everything is made fresh and to order, and you can ask any server you see for anything you'd like and they will help you. Excellent! Our server made sure we had refills and always had someone checking in with us. We ordered the Fiesta Eggrolls appetizer to start. They were divine! I highly recommended them. The whole table fought over who could eat the last one! I won, of course! Onto the entrees: - Wood-Fired Rotisserie Chicken (slow-roasted for several hours with herbs and spices) with redskin mashed potatoes and green beans. THIS WAS THE BEST CHICKEN I'VE EVER HAD. No, really. It was tender, moist, juicy, and delicious. They gave you a side of jus that wasn't even needed because the chicken was that tender. I basically didn't talk to anyone at the table once it came out because all I could do is savor every bite. The mashed potatoes were great. I didn't care for the green beans. They were very crunchy and I don't like my green beans that way. - Eastern Shore Style Crab cakes (2 people in our part ordered this) (Half pound of jumbo lump in two crab cakes, seared) with dijon mustard sauce, french fries, and coleslaw. The dish was enjoyable, however both parties agreed the crab cakes could have been bigger. The crab cakes were indeed jumbo lump. The fries were crispy and the coleslaw was good. - Pan Roasted Cod (Fresh Alaskan, seared and topped with house-made lemon butter) with herb and garlic infused broccoli and redskin mashed potatoes. The cod was delicious. The broccoli was flavorful with the herb and garlic and was soft. The mashed potatoes, again, were great. - Chicken Pot Pie (Homemade crust, rotisserie chicken, carrots, peas, and potatoes). This was another one of those 'this food is so good, I can't talk to you' dishes. From the moist chicken, to the flakey, golden brown crust, this dish was definitely a hit. The pot pie is huge! For dessert, "we" ordered the Chocolate Uprising. I say we (even though I ordered it) because once it came to the table, spoons came in from every direction. And I thought everyone was "full" - hmmm. This dessert was so good. SO GOOD. Vanilla ice cream was sandwiched between two warm brownies with walnuts. On top was a huge mound of homemade whipped cream. I'm not a huge fan of whipped cream, but I was literally putting spoonfuls of it in my mouth. Embarrassing. It was fresh and obviously house-made because it was so light and airy. I dreamt about that dessert, y'all. Yes, I did. The only downside (and I use that term loosely) to the dinner was that the room were seated in was so loud. I believe it's because the band music piped in through the speakers was entirely too loud, thus making everyone in the room raise their voices to talk. Don't get me wrong, the band was wonderful - just turn down the volume for the patio area, please! Overall, we will certainly, most definitely, absolutely return. Hey Friends! We tried the Rock Fish today!!! Absolutely delicious with the amazing lemon butter sauce. We also ordered the cornbread, which came out buttery hot! Just can't get enough. I really tried hard to order a different entree, but I love Stanford's Rainbow Trout!!! You will never find a better cut and mouth watering flavor!!! I think about it all the time... read more

This is THE BEST restaurant in Columbia. I've lived here my whole life and only recently found this restaurant that's tucked back in this weird hotel/business park. Live music by a jazz band every weekend, quality service, and delicious food!! Each time I've come here the wait staff has been more than helpful and quick. It does fill up fast so I would recommend a reservation however there is seat yourself seating around the bar. Which is the best place anyway because that is where the jazz band sets up! Now let's get to the food. All I can say is quality. You can tell when you eat the food that it wasn't pre made and that everything is made to order. Veggies are fresh and crisp and cones out hot. Each time I've tried something new and I'm blown away every time by the ingredient combination and the quality of food prep. This pay time I convinced the hubs to get the chicken pot pie. OH MY GOSH please get this on a rainy or cloudy winter day and just thank me later. I got the steak salad and it was so good y'all I can't even explain. read more
I left a review for Stanford Grill earlier this month and the GM, Thomas, sent me a personal message on Feb 12. Thomas apologized for my experience and said that he was fully committed to ensure the satisfaction of the restaurant's guests. He asked for me to either call him or send him my number. I was at work when I read the message so I sent him my number. On my way back home from work, I received a call from the Assistant GM, Justine. She was very sweet and sounded genuine while apologizing about the lack of quality in the delivery and execution of my order throughout the years. I've placed to-go lunch orders at Stanford for almost four years and would always order the Danish BBQ pork ribs. There would be some days where the fries would be overly salted and soggy (or hard like potato chips). Also, I noticed that the portion size of the Danish BBQ pork ribs got smaller over time. Justine said that she read my Yelp review and asked for me to provide more information. I basically restated my Yelp review and told her that I appreciated the gesture. She told me that the managers have informed the head chef and he is working with the other BOH staff to ensure that the restaurant's quality standards are upheld. I said that I wasn't going to come back to Stanford for awhile but Justine invited me and my coworker to a complimentary meal. We finally got a chance to yesterday since my coworker was out sick. You pick up to-go orders at the bar and the bartenders were friendly as always. The food portions looked standard. Fries were nicely salted. The fiesta egg rolls were nicely fried. I greatly appreciate that they took the time to contact me and create a positive experience. read more

I remember this place being a lot better as a kid. Perhaps I've since spoiled my tastebuds.. this is your standard grille. Nothing special but a great place to have dinner on a regular night with an upscale ambiance and great service. I would skip out on the dip, it's very bland and has more filler than artichoke or spinach. read more
We had reservations for Mother's day. I made reservations thru Opentable. We were seated on time. Our server name was Katriel. I do believe he must have been new. Opentable advertised that the Mother's would get a surprise on Mother's day. I have been to Stanford Grill in the past and we enjoyed the food. Therefore l didn't hesitate when my husband indicated we should go there. I remember once when we ate at Season 52 for Mother's Day. They gave all the mothers a rose. How sweet was that. I really thought that was the special gift they indicated. When we didn't receive anything and l asked the server was there any surprise for the Mother's. He said he didn't know anything about it. Ummmm please inform your staff. That is imperative information. I stated that l would be putting that into my review. He went and told the manager. She came over and said yes we would be receiving a box of chocolates with our check. He didn't know anything about that. Also he disappeared for awhile and we wanted to order some alcoholic beverages. So one of the other servers took our order. Also my son ordered a cheeseburger and it came back medium well. Now my son is a well done kind of guy. He would never send food back so he just ate it. It would have been nice if the server asked him how would he like his burger cooked but he didn't. So they just assumed on the medium well. Now on to the positive. My food was excellent with the exception of those awful deviled eggs. I had the Crispy pork Shank. Which was delicious! It came with some very good mashed potatoes a very tasty homemade gravy with some very good collard greens. My husband had the Danish Bbq pork ribs. He also said they were good. My mom enjoyed her Prime rib as well. Overall visit was good but l really think they need to better prepare and inform their server's. read more

If I had to describe Stanford Grill in one word, the word would be..."Class"! Stanford Grill is one of the best restaurants in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area! From having food in the bar area and listening to live jazz (pre-pandemic), sitting at booth tables with candlelight, or patio seating, this restaurant is definitely a winner. Not only can you expect quality food, but you can expect quality service. Visit soon! read more
Clearly you can tell from the numerous reviews/opinions of Stanford Grill that this place is worthy of yet another, mine! I stopped in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and chose to dine in the bar area. The bartender, Justin, did double duty as my server and he had impeccable customer service skills. As a matter of fact, every employee I encountered in the restaurant had outstanding customer service skills. Bravo to management for knowing what's important to the customer, customer service! I ordered the spinach and artichoke dip for an appetizer and the chicken sandwich for an entrée. Both were delicious and very filling. Justin made sure to acknowledge my food allergies and check with the chef to make sure they wouldn't interfere with anything I ordered. The atmosphere alone was very relaxing and welcoming. What can I say, I'm a sucker for a linen napkin. Perfect for a date or a night on the town, or even a nice brunch! There were also a few large parties/celebrations going on at that time and it seemed like the perfect place to meet up. A live jazz band plays (it slips my mind when) on certain nights. It just seems like a really classy establishment. Stellar customer service, excellent food with notable portions and a welcoming atmosphere...what more can a girl ask for? I'm a fan! read more

I've been going to the excellent restaurant for years with its tasty food and great service. I simply must tell you that their key lime pie from the dessert section of the menu comes in close second by a centimeter to mine. Very large in portion, and perfectly balanced between sweet and tangy. Definitely give it a try read more

My second time to this location and sorry to say, there will not be a third! Tried the Rattle Snake Pasta and it made me very sick. About the only thing that I did like were the kids chicken tenders. That is just a sad state of affairs, but the truth. The food here is not great and some dishes are just ok. I have tried to make this place good with a little great thrown in, but I can't make it so. read more

No, most people have business casual clothes on, but I dined for dinner with jeans and a nice shirt with no issues.

No, I went for lunch and fashion ranged from sweats to sports jackets.
