I had a water main burst in my yard between the meter and the home's shut off valve. I tried multiple times to contact Global for emergency shut off because it was spraying everywhere and flooding the street. I waited 10 hours. No one ever came or called me back in that 10 hours. I got the water turned off via a helpful neighbor. Plumber came and was fixing my pipe when Global called to ask if I still needed it turned off. I tell them "No, I got it sorted, you can cancel that request." Repair gets done and plumber turns the water back on and departs. I contact Global to inquire about potentially clearing some of the water charge since I tried multiple times to get them out to shut it off and they never showed. I should not have to pay for 4.2K gallons of water when I tried to call them multiple times and go through the appropriate channels. The lady informs me that No... they will not clear the charge AND I got berated repeatedly by the CSR for turning the water off because that is Global's property and no one else is allowed to touch it. Rude and unreasonable but fine whatever. I'll pay the bill and move on with my life. 6 hours later my boyfriend comes out of the bathroom to inform me that we have no water. I call Global to ask if that emergency service request that I cancelled went through after all. I got the same lady from earlier who had been very unhelpful. She advises me that no tech came out and she berated me again for letting someone else touch the meter. We disconnect and I go check the meter. It is indeed off and then I notice a placard on the front door from Global saying that their service tech came by to fulfill the shut off request. Then a supervisor from Global called me to find out what was happening. This supervisor also berated me for letting someone not from Global touch the meter and after much back and forth and misinformation on her part (which tells me that the first lady I spoke with did not take accurate notes), I manage to convey to her that 1) my plumber did not leave the meter off, 2) the leak was indeed fixed and the water had been working fine for 6 hours, and 3) I had a service placard IN MY HAND indicating that yes, their service tech DID come out and shut off the water after the service request had been cancelled. At this point I was absolutely LIVID. I was berated repeatedly across multiple phone calls by multiple people for taking care of an emergency situation when their people failed to do their job and they refused to clear the charge caused by their failure to respond in a timely manner. The home owner is a senior citizen on a fixed income and they do not care at all about that. If I had any choice about service providers I would immediately end my contract with them and choose another provider. Well I haven't had a problem with them for 8 years or so but got a bill for a house that my sister uses as a vacation home, so the home is vacant most of the time. That bill was over $800 for one month. So I login to my Global Water account for that property and see that they have water use over the top. Feb 9th 44,920 gal Feb 19th 31,538 gal Feb 22nd 11,233 gal Mar 13th 33,422 gal This make no sense since an entire pool full of water is just over 10,000 gal so whats going on. They sent out a tech to check the meter and he says the meter is fine. I would think with that much water use my house would be floating or at least we would see water in the street. nothing and entire property is dry no irrigation issues. These people suck! We moved and asked for a final bill. Got the bill and paid it the same day. Three months later, I get an email from some guy named Yurell Reyes. He says that I have a balance and he is threatening to report the debt to a collection agency. Three months, really? They were provided with our new address. What incompetent employees. I called and paid what I thought was my final bill. I provided them all of my new information. They had my phone number, address, email address. I did not receive a bill in the mail, phone call, smoke signal....nothing.....So its my fault that they are incompetent. read more

There is only one word to describe this company: scary. GWR has got to be one of the most corrupt companies out there. They've made several mistakes on my billing statements and have turned my water off twice (they can't get the billing statements right). Their payment systems, computers, and communications are horrible. It's not easy to pay this company. Each time it is turned off it cost $70 to have it turned back on. If you call in to complain or try to get it straightened out, they will argue with you knowing full well the problem is on their end. I am a good customer, and I have good credit. I have no problems paying any of my bill, with the exception of this company. I can't stress this enough, I always pay my bills, but I've had a lot of problems with this company. It is really scary to think that these people are controlling our water. I am seriously thinking about moving out of Maricopa, Arizona for this reason. It makes me sick. P.S. They are literally the WORST. They give no notice if they are going to disconnect you, even if it's the DAY AFTER your bill is due (and two days before payday). Then they tack on a $70 reconnect fee just to inconvenience you more! Calling customer service is a joke; they are extremely rude and refuse to transfer to a supervisor. "Sorry, there's nothing I can do to help you." Then why are they paying you to take my call?! When we had a leak in our main line due to their crappy piping, we had to pay for the repair IN ADDITION to several hundreds of extra dollars per month for "water usage" from the leak. They are apparently the only water company in AZ that won't adjust your bill if there's a leak. I cannot say enough bad things about this shady company. They are the single worst thing about Maricopa and we are planning to move JUST so we never have to deal with them and their shady business practices again. All I can do is groan at the mere mention of their name. This company is a big reason why we moved away from Maricopa. They are unethical, disorganized crooks and can get away with it because they are the only water service for the city. With an unknown sprinkler leak, and origination fees, our first bill was over $240 for a family of 3 in a 2k SF home. Typically, bills ran at least $100, primarily consisting of $90 fees and $10 actual usage. Long story short, our water was shut off with no notice after we had already paid our bill and we still had to pay $75 for them to "restore service." We had no apology and asked to speak with a supervisor and we were told that was not possible but they would call us back within 48 hours. No one called back. Ended up battling via BBB and were partially reimbursed for the restoration fee. Awful communication and disorganization throughout the ordeal and no one notated properly in their system regarding previous conversations that were had. read more

This company charges you 170 dollars just to set up service. 90 a month for just service and any actual water use is added on top. When I lived in Chicago, I paid 70 bucks for TWO months. Their IT systems are terrible. It appears that the billing and payment system needs to be revamped. Please fire those guys and hire competent employees. The issue: Auto-Pay randomly stops and then you find out when you receive late payment + disconnect of service notices in the mail with additional fees tacked on just to rub a little more salt in the wound. Furthermore, their e-billing, is in a user-unfriendly format that makes you jump through too many steps and hoops to get to your actual bill online. Their customer service is average at least. I'd have given them a solid 1 star rating based on their IT systems but the customer service is worth at least 4 out of 5 so I'm giving the company an overall 2 star rating. read more

I just want to say something about Global Water they think that by us paying through our routing number it's free but it takes them 4 to 5 days to take it out of our checking account just because it's free. Does it mean you can keep my money as long as you want whenever you feel like it you can't take a debit card when you do you get a four dollar charge from a third-party which is doesn't make sense at all. CEO of Global Water needs to listen and save the world without using our routing numbers that's our privacy. You can have our debit card because we can change those if we get scammed. The manager called me and all she would say is it's free it's free well I don't care if I'm using a debit card for everybody else. Why can't you get on the bus and work like everybody else and use our debit cards that's all I have to say and I'm not gonna change my rating because the car that I got was not anything. MARICOPA RESIDENTS PRICES ARE AROUND $120 A MONTH!!!!! Thats only using about 5000 gallons a month for a family of 4 average. You will be better off in Chandler. If you want a 3000 square foot home on up be prepared to over $200 a month for water. Thats because the larger the house the larger the meter (1" meter costs almost double. Call and see for yourself. Global Water 623-518-4000. If your 2 weeks past the due date and simply forgot to pay it you'll come home to no water. Then be forced to pay a huge reconnect fee. City's will give you a month or more. Obviously if cant remember to pay after a months time you have other problems. Just be warned if your moving to Maricopa or other areas that Global Water services. read more

They charge you over $100 just for bullcrap fees and your total water usage is only $50 but your stuck posting for fees that don't even make sense. They have a few for everything. Hello they probably even have one in the bill for postage to send you the bill. They do it and get away with it. Maricopa has no other water company so they do what they want how they want. They are not responsive to their customers, and when there is a problem, there is really no way to get in touch with them. Global Water("GW") attempts to blackmail its customers, and it has the blessing from Maricopa City Counsel and the Arizona Corp Commission. Here is what it does. If you, the customer is late, on an ever discriminatory water bill, even when your use is the same each month. The Company will disconnect your water services. We are talking, usually 10 days late. Fair enough, strict policy, not common to Phoenix, Tempe, Chandler or Gilbert, but ok. However, it does not matter if it disconnects your service in the morning, or in the afternoon. If you immediately pay the balance (owed, which for a residential customer should be between $105.00 to $115.00 bill) and a $70.00 reconnect fee. You have to weight for the water company to sometime, and often even past the permitted 24 hour time frame. However, GW will advise you, if you pay an additional $35.00, they can turn the service on that same day, regardless of the time. The ACC requires GW to turn the water on at a reasonable time once disconnected. We know that at all times is reasonable because GW can turn it on instantly if you pay $35.00 fee on top of the $70.00 fee. Next, at one time, maybe just maybe GW had an excuse, but since their disconnect and activation is done remotely, meaning they can turn it on at a flip of the switch, just as they turn it off at the flip of a switch, not only is the $35.00 'blackmail' fee in appropriate. The $70.00 reconnect fee is inappropriate. Why, back in the day, yes a company may need a person to go out, turn the water value off, put a tag/seal on it, and then undue all of it once restoration of services. However, now that it is done remotely, it is a flip of the switch and the cost to do such, at best could not be in excess of $5.00. Now, the Maricopa City Counsel is fully aware of the historic, corrupt and abusive policies of GW, but does absolutely nothing to restrict their abuses when it can through City Ordinances. Next, we are in a State where Private Sector is suppose to perform much better than public utilities. However, my experience has shown that the above cities are much better at governing water policies. The ACC recognizes that GW is one of the most disruptive water service providers in the State of Arizona, yet it does nothing either. In a word - disrespectful. I've had service on properties in Maricopa for about 8 years. I finally needed service at a new address.I stopped by the office and was told "fill out this NEW SERVICE form". I said "I've had service for 8 years, just moving it, I have to fill out this form?" Her response: "That's what I just said." - Very classy and professional (not). I mean I've only paid them about $8,000 over the years... By the way, this also means another $165 deposit and two $35 "hook-up" fees, same as the newest arrival in town. I left wondering when water delivery would be as deregulated as TV and internet. A little competition sure would help the pricing AND the attitude. This experience sure got me thinking..Maybe the city should own the pipes and we should be able to choose our own providers to pump Arizona's canal and rain water, no? Anyone for a ballot measure? --- UPDATE: I've changed the score from 1 to 3. Everything the "temp employee" mentioned above wasn't, their representative Roselyn was. I went back with all the ridiculous paperwork, but Roselyn made the more recent experience a pure pleasure and had things handled in minutes. Such a frustrating and challenging company. One billing hassle after another, even though the bank confirms payments are made. And their "customer service" hotline simply puts you on hold until it disconnects you telling you that they are not able to get to your call. This is the challenge with utilities where there is no competition in a region. I am sure the company is staffed with good, well-intended people. But the company itself seems to be quite inefficiently run. Very frustrating that there is no other choice for water supply in our area. read more

So last month my wife and I welcomed our second kid to the world unfortunately there were some complications and we did spend a few weeks in the hospital after his birth due to that we spend day and night at the hospital and would only go to my moms down the street to shower as we could, due to that our water bill came at the end of the month like it does every other month when we did end up coming home we arrived to a home with no water I had accidentally forgotten to pay the water bill I told my wife no biggie we will go get a room for the night and I'll call them in the morning and get this worked out. I called and explained my situation only to be told "you must pay your bill and a $70 dollar fee " I agreed to the bill but I was shocked by the fee, I explained to the agent unfortunately life happens I never refused to not pay I was dealing with my son in a hospital, she said " yea our policy requires you to pay that any time we have to shutoff your service " which I agreed if I had just not paid my bill, I had simply forgotten because we were dealing with my son. I offered to show proof from the hospital, if needed, She said well our manager Sandra would need to speak to me and to this day a month later have never spoken to her. Today I called again hoping to speak to someone about this and was met with laughter at one point in the call and she said "you agreed to this policy and it still applies and I'm trying to help you just pay the fee and that's it." So now it's my turn my next stop will be Channel 3 on your side so they can deal with these parasites and Arizona Corporate Commissions, so I can play the recordings and show them the proof I have, so they can get some real exposure of how they choose to do business. As well as reviewing them on every single platform I can find them on so other people can see how they leech off people and have no compassion, money can buy them a lot except I suppose except class. Global Water does not consider a disconnect an emergency, but they will not tell you that. On Friday evening we returned home to find the water had been disconnected due to lack of payment ($107.92); total nerd head forgot to make the payment. Totally admit it. But. .. A call to the emergency number indicated that if payment was received, service would be resumed. Payment was made ($142.92, which included the immediate reconnect fee of $35). Saturday noon, still no service. Another emergency call number resulted in. ... service will not be reconnected until regular service hours - Monday after 8AM. There is a special needs person and animals in the home; lack of water is an emergency. How can a utility service not provide water for over 60 hours to a household! read more

I'm currently on the line with so called customer service, my bill went from 118.14 to 180.53, stating i consumed 20,003 gallons? April 05, 2019 to May 05, 2019, I'm single, no kids, residing in a 1,500 sq. ft house. I do NOT own a pool, yet my neighbor does and his bill is $114.00. Obviously there is a leak somewhere, I asked to have the meter re-read and they said if it's the same they will add a $35.00 fee. I asked for a weekly break down and they cannot provide that, as I turned on my irrigation 2 weeks ago which goes on 10 mins a day, that waters 7 plants, and uses an adjustable dripper. There's NO way in two weeks that amount of water can be used. I turned off the irrigation and main water pipe leading to it. I called to see in detail as when the usage skyrocketed, as if it's due to a leak I was asking for a 1 time courtesy adjustment to the bill as most utility companies offer. The customer rep said NO to everything I requested, weekly break down of usage, re read the meter at no cost, and a courtesy 1 time leak adjustment. I requested to speak to a supervisor and he said she couldn't get on the line? This is by far the worse company I've ever used, unfortunately I am held hostage as there are no other water companies to switch too. These greedy corporations that hold a monopoly over citizens is criminal. I'm subjected to increases as they recently increased the cost without representation. If I go on vacation for a month I will still have to pay in fees over $80.00. There has to be justice for the average citizen that becomes victims to these malicious greedy corporate conglomerates, Global Water. If by chance you have a choice wherever you live to have another option to choose another water company do so, do NOT use Global Water "Criminal" Resources. This company has the worst billing and water usage systems I have ever encountered. The City of Lakewood,Ca switched to them because they would be better then the in house system that had worked great for 30 years. Now they do not update your water usage-I mean never-and they make their auto billing so hard to use that they get to add $2 each month, along with a disconnect notice. These guys are crooks. They manage my city's water billing in California. I made a payment online which they came back and stated I entered a number in the account wrong. I checked three times before I submitted the payment and the account number was correct. There is literally no way to prove your claim. When they then charged me $25 for a "return payment fee" I called their customer service. Their rep tried to claim that the reason they charge this fee is that they are charged just like a return check fee. I then called my bank who confirmed they never charge fees on an electronic debit and that they have no record of ever sending a return check fee to this company. Subsequent calls to their customer service went no where. This is your typical 3rd party billing company shafting customers with fees as much as possible. Unfortunately I have no choice but to deal with them for my utilities. read more

I recently movies out of the City of Maricopa and had my services canceled do to moving. I my monthly bills were between $90-100 for one person with only the front yard landscaped. Their prices are outrageous. But here is the kicker... Before you turn your services on you have to pay Global Water a deposit fee of which is returned with 6.8% interest. Which is great! Can't get that return at a bank however, their company policy dictates that you have to pay your final bill on the date it's due and do not receive your deposit back for 60+ days. I called Global Water only to get brushed off. I explained that if I with held my payment that they would send me a late fee and I didn't appreciate them holding my money so long. Long story short, they believe because they are the only company I. That town they can abuse that and their customers. If you can avoid moving to Maricopa do so. I have a stellar bill paying record with this company that I, unfortunately, am forced to use. This month I receive a billing for one month's worth of their water. It stipulated that the bill would be past due on 3/24/18. For anyone who doesn't have a calendar handy that happens to fall on a Saturday. On 3/24/18 I dropped my payment into their own payment box at their location in Maricopa in lieu of the fact that their office is closed on Saturday. The payment was deposited by them and credited in my bank on 3/27/18. Yesterday I received a disconnect notice dated 3/26/18. How utterly ridiculous. That was the Monday after the bill was due and the first date after the due date they were opened for business. On this notice it stipulated that if I were to get 3 late payments in a 12 month period, they will assess a deposit. Just another way this scheister organization tries to squeeze money that they are not entitled to from me. If they try to do this, I will turn them in once again to the AZ. Corporation Commission/ Utilities Division. They have raped the people from our city long enough and do not deserve to be in business. Their ethics suck big time. Newsflash, Global, my payment was there on time. I can't help it if you weren't. One star was one too many in my opinion. read more

I agree with Jackie B. They are crooks. We have repeatedl tried to work with them. Beth, the manager in Maricopa is inflexible, uncooperative and rude. Aside from talking over us, she claims the mail service is the problem when our service was turned off. We never received a notice until 3 days after the cut-off date. NOT according to the post master at Phoenix Main. Global Water prints bill prior to mailing and holds it for up to 2 weeks before mailing. Inspite of medical need, they will not do anything to help. They will set up auto withdrawal and take the money out of your account several days in advance if the date you specify. We tried this but it will can cause an overdraft in your account and cause your account to be overdrawn with it's attendent problems. Beth will not waive charges and she will put nasty notes on your account file including "no one is to talk to the customer except her." Don't worry, she will never call you to resolve anything. By the way, the have recently changed the due date for everone with notifying the customers. read more
