I have tried this place at Yorktown Mall in Lombard several times. My order is always incorrect and when I ask for clarification I get vague answers. The last three times I was there I asked for a receipt and was told she threw it out and would not dig through the garbage for it. We ordered a 20oz. turtle latte and a 20oz. matcha over ice and our total was $19 and some change. The Matcha was a very milky latte (iced) and when I asked about it, I was told that it was a creme Brule matcha latte and that she didn't charge me the extra $2 for ice. Seriously? I asked for and matcha over ice (like the sign outside) and she said that is what I had. It wasn't, and in fact, the sign out front showed the drink she made AND the matcha over ice. She was so ornery that I was afraid to pursue it further. read more

It's a bit on the pricier end for drinks, though it's consistently quite good no matter what you order, particularly the ice cream chillers. In addition to the delicious drinks, they also have an unusually large selection of different mugs and collectibles on the shelves to purchase. There's lots of fun options here, particularly if you're looking for Disney items. In the pastry case you can also find an assortment of muffins, breads, pastries, and cakes to go along with your coffee. For those who aren't looking for the standard hot coffee, lattes, or chillers you can also find nitro cold brew and tea options. No matter what you order, these are served in a friendly and efficient manner. The white chocolate caramel cookie chiller is my favorite here. $7 is steep for a small (small is a decent size). Pricing overall seems more expensive then Starbucks. This Gloria Jean's location and the Fox Valley location raise their prices significantly higher than other franchise locations. $9.75 for an iced coffee is a bit steep when the Dunkin in the same mall charges half the price or the North Riverside Gloria Jean's charges under $5 for the exact same size and drink. I let the manager know once before, he didn't care. He actually joked that it should be higher. read more

Been going here for years but today was a disappointment. I ordered an iced pumpkin latte and the hubby ordered an iced mocha. I got a hot pumpkin latte and he got an iced white mocha. I told the girls that airport ordered it iced. She took it back and filled a cup with ice and poured my hot latte over the ice and gave it back. The girls ended up making a new drunk for my husband after they stood and discussed it for a while. When he got his iced mocha it really didn't have much flavor to it. When I finally tasted mine it tasted like water since she just poured the hot coffee over a glass full of ice that melted immediately. I told them it had no flavor of pumpkin or espresso. They didn't believe me and told me that they made it with the exact measurements. Never offered to make me a new drink. I am so disappointed that I will never go back there! They are priced the same as Starbucks but quality and service is way down, beginning with the unfriendly girl cashier....maybe just at this location on a Sunday afternoon, and the kid that prepared our drink, took 15minutes to make 3 drinks. I tried the coconut caramel macadamia chiller and it tasted like a very watered down iced coffee....be warned, don't get it, save your $6. My daughter got a mango chiller (ice and mango syrup mixed together)....sour. My other daughter got iced chai tea latte, no good either accdg to her. I am so bummed that the Oak Brook Gloria Jean's closed. It was go-to place whenever I had to go to the Apple Store. Oh well- I'm glad there is this one at the Yorktown mall. I have become addicted to their frozen strawberry fruit breeze drinks (for the life of me I can't remember if that's their real name)- kind of like a smoothie but non-dairy and with no yogurt (though you can get it with yogurt, I just found out). So delicious! I also really love that they have individual K-cups that you can buy so you can try one before you buy a whole box. It's the only place I've seen that has that option. They have great flavors of coffee and tea- it's fun to try them all. They have a coffee club that you can earn coupons for free coffee too, and you can do it on K-cups too. The flavors are great -- you have your classic coffee house blends but then you have crazy seasonal flavors! Ever had pistachio coffee? This place had it in March! Right now they have pumpkin (which isn't all that impressive) but in the summer they offered trail mix flavored coffee! There is never a boring trip there. Always something new to taste. Because they bring in new flavors even their regulars like myself can try something new. The staff has always been on top of their game. The wait is never long. They genuinely chat back with you (as opposed to other baristas). They are wonderful. They also have loyalty cards. Make sure to get one when you're there. If you're not quite a Fan of the gooey, icky, syrupy, chocolaty sweetsie drinks that easily pack 666 calories into every refresher, the black iced tea is delightful, full-bodied and fresh. A large iced tea, which is huge, and appears larger than a coffee shop favorite Trenta, is under 3 bucks. A better bargain than the stones throw competition, which has longer lines, the same product, for a much higher price. Such a deal! GJ's black and green unsweetened iced tea is wonderful! I found this gem while walking around Yorktown Shopping Center. I'm a regular at Starbucks and I am a creature of habit. I'm very brand loyal to Starbucks' White Chocolate Mocha. I decided to try Gloria Jean's White Hot Chocolate. I find that White Chocolate tastes so much better in specialty coffee drinks. The drink was exceptional! It was hot and fresh, though not scalding. The White Chocolate was mixed in evenly and gave the drink a sweet and exceptional taste. The baristas are skilled and proficient. Service was swift and courteous. Prices are reasonable, which is a big plus compared to Starbucks, Peets, or Caribou. There was no line at the time, so I had a good conversation with the baristas before I left. As I mentioned before, this place is a hidden gem. If you can find a location, I would highly recommend giving it a try! read more

Caribou had a kiosk at center court by the escalator for quite some time, but due to recent financial woes, that location was closed up and removed from the mall, much to my Mint Condition-loving dismay. Unless I wanted a cup of mud from a place in the food court, Gloria Jeans seemed like the best option available. It's a small shop that also sells teas, coffees, mugs, teapots and other sorts of caffeinated accessories. I really never ordered anything besides regular coffee, but I was in the mood for something foo-foo, so I ordered a frozen mint mocha. The line of customers waiting for drinks was rather substantial, so the wait for my drink was nearly 20 minutes. Not that they were short-staffed, rather I think the problem was they had too many people behind the counter, and none of them communicated with each other. At least three customers had to return incorrect drinks while I was waiting there. Truthfully, I was not at all impressed with my drink. I could hardly detect any defining mint flavor; all I could taste was sweet. This thing was toothache causing sweet. I was excited to try something because gloria jeans hazelnut is my fave kcup nut I was surprised they have nothing hazelnut on the cold side of the menu. I was told they could add hazelnut to any order but I dont want that, I want something already hazelnut. I got the coconut macadamia but it was pretty bland as coffee goes, just no flavor. My biggest thing was their napkins, they stink to high heaven! July 1st 2017 So while I was at the mall I tried one of the sample cups that the sample girl had in front of the store and I was hooked *Darn your delicious samples* anyways so I went inside to get a full size of this Oreo cookie cherry chiller. While I was in there I found out that the Gloria Jean's in Yorktown was under new owner, which explained the new look. For starters, I liked the new screens that they used for the menu boards. The drink itself was fantastic, there was cherry, Oreo, tasted like vanilla ice cream. All and all it was very delicious and also it was a very large drink. Just at a guess I would put it at 24oz, it also came topped with whip cream and chocolate sprinkles. Needless to say it's probably a day's worth of calories in a glass, but it's a sweet way to go lol also you could order a small. From time ordered to time received I would say is maybe 2 minutes, so you don't have to wait very long for your order, they seemed pretty efficient at what they do. Everybody in the store was really friendly and helpful, I didn't feel rushed to order and they answered all my questions about the products both drinks and bakery case as they had a good knowledge of the product. I spoke to Vanessa and the manager whose name I can't remember at this time but both were very polite and helpful. The store was very clean and organized, I'm not saying I would but you could have eaten off the floors they were so spotless. It cost about $8.00 in total for the drink which I feel is a little high for a beverage, despite the cost if you're looking to treat yourself just order a small. With going to beauty school in the mall, the majority of us are huge coffee addicts to keep us going through the day. Many of my peers hit up Dunkin donuts in the mall but I love to frequent this little store; as they have the best customer service. Everyone is super nice and very friendly.
