My prior review was actually for the Moana location! Sorry. A girlfriend invited me to breakfast here and from my previous experience I knew they had no specific GF items... but perusing the online menu there were omelettes which I figure are gluten free so agreed to come. This restaurant is located in the doomed prior Rattlesnake Club restaurant...Open and nice outdoor where we sat. I ordered a peach lemonade. Super sweet upon first sip then settled into a refreshing beverage. Ordered black jam omelette with cheddar instead of Swiss. Came with potatoes and she did offer me corn tortillas instead of non gluten free toast., CORN TORTILLAS??? Can you make some breakfast tacos on your menu!! Because all I did was put my omelette into the tortillas and it was DELICIOUS! The tortillas are just warmed but the cheese egg and ham was excellent. Unfortunately comes smothered in hollandaise sauce which I was able to scrape most of it off. I simply didn't like the potatoes very much. I had to put a generous helping of salt and pepper on them, they had sort of a dull onion taste and I hate onions but they were also sort of bland I dunno.... I would actually return for the omelette to put into the tortillas again and maybe get fruit as a side instead of the potatoes. Friendly service.

THIS location is a wonderful little place. I took the hubby's aunt out to try both Josef's locations, this was our second day out. Location isn't super convenient for me, but well worth the trip. The staff is so friendly and helpful and service was excellent. We sat outside on the patio and had a lovely brunch. The blended chai has to be one of my favorite things! Any pastry I've tried has been simply divine, and the pastry cream is silky and luxurious. The creamy breakfast sando is amazing! So much melty havarti make is so ooey gooey good. I'd have it again and again.

A friend of mine and I went to the Joseph's on Plum Lane. It was quite roomy and there's patio seating. It was pretty tasty. We had omelettes and there was plenty of food. Their desserts look good on our way out but some of my experience at the other restaurant on Moana I have had not great success at that store. I don't know if it's the same Baker or not but overall the breakfast was good on plumb ln.

Guys, its 2026.... came to check out your new location but.... no prices on anything? No posted prices nowhere? Are we supposed to guess? Or just order and get a "surprise " at the register?

New location on Plumb Lane. This is my 3rd visit to this location, sat outside on the patio, very inviting and comfortable. Staff was accommodating and friendly. I ordered the Lobster Roll which was generously packed full of Lobster meat, delicious, I do prefer on a toasted bun but this still did not disappoint, the Traditional Eggs Benedict and potatoes I was told were perfectly delicious and last was a French Dip sandwich and fries that was standard. Overall a lovely lunch date and I wail definitely be back again

Stopped by Josef's Vienna Bakery and Cafe recently and had one of those easy, relaxed meals where you end up staying longer than planned. The interior has that cozy European café feel people mention, warm and a little old school in the best way. It's not trying to be trendy, more of a neighborhood spot with a bakery counter, the smell of fresh pastries, and a comfortable, lived in vibe. It can get a bit busy, but it still feels welcoming. Service was great. Friendly, patient, and attentive without being over the top. Even when things picked up, we never felt overlooked, and everything moved along smoothly. It felt genuine, which really fits the overall atmosphere. For food, we had the chicken fried steak and the quiche with tomato soup. The chicken fried steak was hearty and satisfying, and the quiche was lighter but still full of flavor. The tomato soup paired really well with it and tied everything together. It's the kind of place you come to for comforting, well made food, and we'll definitely be back.

    Hungry Man combo French toast

Best breakfast spot in Reno, hands down. The mimosas had fresh squeezed orange juice, they were amazing. I got the breakfast sandwich and it was sooo good. Of course, had to try the hubbys French toast and it was absolutely amazing lol. Probably the best French toast I've ever had. We will be back!

We had been looking for a new place to try for brunch and Josef's on Plumb was suggested to us by a friend, who joined us for a mid-morning Sunday brunch. We sat ourselves per their request, with lots of options for seating (high and low 2-tops, low 4- to 6-tops, and patio seating), and were brought some menus shortly thereafter. We requested some waters and asked the server about some of the menu items, which she was incredibly helpful with. We put in our drink orders and finally decided on some food items to order (lots of great breakfast and lunch options to choose from), which our food order was take by a different server. Our food and drinks were brought out by separate food/drink runners while our server(s) were helping with other tables. The food and drinks were delicious! We had some vanilla lattes, a breve latte, and tried the green apple mimosa, made with fresh squeezed green apple juice - a unique and refreshing option for a mimosa! The mixed berry crepes were large and filled with berries and whipped cream. The smoked salmon Benedict was incredibly flavorful with the charred asparagus, sautéed spinach, poached eggs, hollandaise, balsamic drizzle, and capers atop brioche bread. The waffles were quite simple but still yummy. Unfortunately, our server(s) did not come back to check on us and we had to flag someone down for more water and for our check after our plates had been cleared for quite some time. This was the only downside we experienced on this visit, but look forward to coming back with hopefully more attentive service.

First time at this location but won't be the last. Also, first time trying the berry waffles. Two large waffles with yogurt and tons of berries between them. Seriously so many berries it was amazing. With fresh coffee it was such a great start to the day. My wife had the French toast combo: toast, two eggs and sausage links, with coffee of course! Service was quick and follow up was as well. This location has high ceilings and maybe a little more room than the Moana restaurant. Still the same great food. Least I forget the desserts. Seems like we never get out the door without something. This time it was six flavors of macarons. Fantastic is all I can say. Drop in to either location for breakfast, brunch or lunch and be sure to take home a sweet treat.

Delicious food with friendly and efficient service in an airy and updated environment. Good for brunch and lunch occasions with groups of 2-4 or solo. The cafe side has a mix of two and four high and low tops, and some counter seating. No need for a reservation and you seat yourself (at least the Sunday we visited).

Was convinced by a friend to try this place in the midst of a whole bunch of runaround errands The service was professional and quick, and it's not really a complaint to say there were too many amazing choices on the menu I ended up going with something that I cannot easily produce at home a chicken fried steak and it and the potatoes that came with it were some of the best I had ever had My friends food was a bagel and smoked salmon and looked delightful The ceiling is high and the space is huge and is surprisingly chill in a really great way

    Leslie L.

Great bakery/restaurant with a ton of space and all of the yummy sweets you could ask for! We came in for brunch and had a few mimosas, eggs Benedict and the berry crepes. All of the food was wonderful! Service was a bit slow, but friendly, and the interior is really nice!

The Yule Log cake in question.
    Matthew Y.

Let me tell you about the Yule Log cake that I bought at Josef. Here are the pictures I took, and I was so disgusted at how it fell apart in front of my guest for Christmas Day dinner dessert . They say a picture speaks a 1000 words well here's a 1001. This is not the first time a had trouble with their cakes. When I moved her four years ago I needed a birthday cake, and was told to go to Josef. What a mistake that was. So I let it slide and didn't say a word. Well, I really needed to find a Yule Log and unfortunately no bakeries make them around here except for this bakery. So I thought I'd give it a try I had no other choice. That was a mistake a $50 mistake save your money and go to one of the casino bakeries. Much better.

Until this 4th of July weekend (250/2026) we had never heard of Archie's. It was recommended to us and we stopped in on Sunday the 5th for lunch on our way out of town. What an amazing choice. I ordered their bacon cheese burger. Guess what? It was GIANT. It was delicious. It was perfect. Comes with fries but I got onion rings. The onion rings were perfect too. Largest order of rings I have ever seen. The burger (1/2 Lb I think!!) had nice thick bacon in every bite, two large and fresh slices of tomato, a big old slab of an onion slice, mayo and lettuce. I can't remember if there were pickles. It was the best burger and onion rings I have eaten in at least ten years, maybe 20. We will be back, EVERY time we are in town from now on. I can't recommend this place enough. Special shout out to David, our server. This guy made no mistakes. Laughed at all my stupid dad jokes, was attentive, patient while my companions changed their minds 36 times, and was friendly too. Says it was only his 2nd day on the job, but I wish he had been working for us at our restaurant (Hokkaido Noodle House) in Sacramento. He is a pro already, give him reasons to keep working for you boss. Don't worry, we won't steal him from you, we are retired and closed our joint 10 years ago. Rock on Archie's! I haven't eaten breakfast there but the burger I'd put in the top 4 in Reno. It is giant diameter wise but the meat is the same amount of a smaller thicker burger which makes it no too hard to eat. I'd call this a Purist's Burger. Crisp lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mustard, sauce. They went really light on the sauce to the point I didn't think it had any. Fries were excellent too. Price is very reasonable (that's typical near a college.) I've tried Royce, Juicy's, and The Parlor. I'd put Archies below Royce and Parlor but above Juicy's. Two left on my list are Armando & Son's Butcher Shop and of course Beefy's.

Our family of 8 arrived here to a line that only continued to build. The line exited the building and began to wrap alongside the building. Seating here is first come first serve and are only designated by staff. Saving tables and sitting down prior to placing an order is a big no-no. BUT!! That didn't stop others from doing this anyhow. Let me start off by saying how chaotic this place is. This began from the initial line up to order and continued throughout the meal. Staff seemed flustered, overwhelmed, and moody. I'm not sure if the vibe of our visit would be considered "normal" to the staff and regulars but from my perspective looking in, it just seemed uncomfortably unorganized. As a forewarning to those who have never visited this establishment before, do your research and try to decide on what you would like to order prior to reaching the register area. Being prepared assists in quicker lines and you avoid looks of annoyance overall. Our family ordered a bunch of stuff: *THE REGGIE- hold the cheese & gravy *BLUEBERRY CORNMEAL PANCAKE - single *CORNMEAL PANCAKE- single *BUILD YOUR OWN BISCUIT - bacon, sausage, egg *Side order of EGG *Side order of BACON x2 *CHICKEN FRIED STEAK PLATE w/ BISCUIT *HASH BROWN, 2EGGS, + BACON *THE MONEYBALL *BEIGNETS Food came out at all different times. It was just unfortunate how one child in particular's meal came out at the very end when everyone was pretty much done with eating. The female staffer who brought over the dishes dropped plates on the table before scurrying off. At first I thought it was just a random occurrence but when it consistently happened, there was no way to justify that kind of service. Food was doable. The whole hype over Pine State Biscuits was simply that- JUST HYPE. The dining experience overall and vibe of the eatery was just not my scene. Kudos to those who genuinely enjoy the establishment but I'm gonna have to pass. I wouldn't openly waste my time or calories here.

She barely let me speak, she interrupted, wasn't answering my actual question about what kind of toaster they used and what grill the bread is heated on, etc because she wanted to repeat the existence of cross contact. Good lord. I was one second away from walking out. She was a really piece of work. She then upped the "nice" factor to call me sweetie the rest of the meal which makes me want to crawl out of my skin. Honestly, I am very flexible, I think this place may be better than my first impression but this server needs to be retrained to LISTEN to the customer and answer questions and not just make it an effort to drive people out. This is a few minutes of her time, and I have to live my entire life like this without treatment until I die, so a little kindness and active listening is really a minimal effort for a few minutes every now and then. 3 stars is generous. Food was ok. Restaurant was clean, but the servers need to learn to interact with humans better with more kindness and better listening skills.
