Great service and extensive menu. Great stop in Reno. We were driving from the Bay Area to Boise, Idaho. We left early so we were ready for breakfast when we drove through. Ask for salsa on the side - loved the green one!
It was my first time in to Arnie's after an eventful week for my family. It was a nice change of pace to have a quiet slow paced morning and brunch with my kids. Arnie's is locally owned and family run and we were so glad we finally made the time to stay and wait for a table. They were BUSY, but it was so worth the wait. This is spacious restaurant with variety, quality food, decent servings at a great price. Miguel was our server, he was charming and helpful navigating all the choices on the menu. I looked over their specials board and I was so happy to see they offered specialty coffees and non dairy options for milk. I was spoiled with an espresso machine for my birthday this year, so I've become an espresso snob and I didn't get my fix at home before leaving for brunch, so I started with their dulce de Leche iced latte, my daughter had an iced matcha latte, and my sister ordered a mocha. I had to have their steak and eggs. My kids ordered pancakes and eggs, my sister ordered their stuffed french toast. Everything was cooked perfectly and the smell of pancakes were amazing that I caved and had more than two bites; every bite was heavenly. I can't wait to come back with the rest of our family. This was the best breakfast I've had in awhile. Thank you Miguel for your service and the rest of the staff for from getting us served so quickly after we were seated.
So I decided to pick up breakfast for my son and take it to his work so I stopped at Arnie's this morning. It is always very clean in here. Also, the staff is always very friendly. The food is always fresh. I asked for a container for some Cholula to go and they said we will do that for you. They are always helpful. The food is always very tasty here at Arnies cafe. What days are a little slower? Weekends are always super busy. Which was nice to come here when it was a tad slower. The waiters and waitresses are always moving. They are very efficient here, especially on to go orders quick and back out the door to where I need to go.
Quality/Quantity - Sorry it took me so long to finally visit and support. I think it is my loss though... Yelp ratings support the food and service we got today. Today we got the following: Special - Banana pecan pancakes. As a light eater, I was only able to eat half of my brunch and I saved the rest for dinner which I ate before we went to the Patagonia Event; see other Yelp Review. Everything was cooked perfectly; again, generous portions. Health Breakfast - My guest's choice. She is healthy, I am not, opposites attract, lol. She was only able to finish half her breakfast, so it was extra healthy, lol. She enjoyed her breakfast also. Ambiance - Good size space, plenty of table, counter, and private room seating. Plenty of mall parking. Open 7 days a week. Had two posted signs on the windows; see picture. Yelp hours differ slightly. To be safe, it is best to visit between 7am to 2pm, or call to confirm. Service - Excellent. 2.5 hour lunch; the company was great. Never felt rushed. We closed the place, I felt bad... So of course, we left a generous tip. Price - $40 + very generous tip. Thank you. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since July of 2024, we will be regular customers. I'm going to introduce you to my wife also, she has been doing a lot of brunches...
We went to Arnie's Cafe one weekday morning when we happened to be all off from work because trying to eat at Arnie's Cafe one weekday the weekend is pretty impossible since they're often super-busy. When dropped in, our5-person party was easily accommodated at a nearby table. The server got us a round of drinks: tea, water and coffee then afterwards, our entrees: chicken fried steak and eggs, a steak omelette, a one-egg breakfast with an extra egg, the sausage and pancake breakfast combo, and the two-egg breakfast special. The food was delicious; expertly prepared and had huge portions-- there was plenty of leftovers to make another meal. The service was great; the young man who served our party was courteous and attentive; overall, we had a great meal and an overall positive dining experience.
This is amazing! Where has this place been all my life? Breakfast near the airport, this is a must try! The food is five stars! The staff are 6 of five! The next time I am out for breakfast, this is where we are going! If you go there tomorrow, please invite me! I'll pay for my own plate, but if you skip this, you are missing out!
Hey there Party People Chillin in Reno decided to stick with the Locals joint theme and went to Arnie's Cafe for lunch. I would classify this as very nice Whole in the Wall joint. Minimalist on the decor but the Food was a super great value. You get great tasting decent sized portions for an even better price. It's family owned and operated everyone was super nice and the food came out quickly. We ordered the sampler, they seven allowed us to change one of the items...most places never do that. We had Chicken strips, onion rings and mozzarella sticks. Everything was great. The onion rings weren't greasy. The mozzarella sticks were flavorful and ooey gooey. The Chicken Strips were big and the BBQ sauce was just the way we like it and not overly sweet. We both had salads Chef salad and Buffalo Chicken Salad. The salads were good size and very reasonably priced. It just goes to show you that it's worth checking out the local hangouts and explore when you go to a new town. You will find hidden gems everywhere. Be kind to one another
This was my first time here and WOW I'm glad I stopped by. This place was BUSY. I think the wait was twice as long upon our leaving, but the staff handled it really well. I ordered the Eggs Benedict and my SIL ordered the Chorizo & Eggs. Both were really good. What elevated my Bene? The fact that the English muffin was buttered and toasted to a nice crispy crunch. That little added texture really made it for me. My SIL asked for flour tortillas and they were homemade! The vanilla latte was really good and just the right size. I also posted updated photos of the menu so others can see pricing. Although they were incredibly busy, the servers remained attentive and kind. They've definitely seen this kind of crowd before, and dealt with it with ease (or at least pretended to ) We had a slight wait for our check and to-go containers but nothing I wouldn't expect on a busy Sunday. I'll be back again!
The Yelp recommendations led us here and we are glad they did! We decided to go out for breakfast and found this spot was busy but no wait. The food was fast and flavorful.

Objectivity warning: Self-admitting (American) breakfast food hater here. I'm not a fan of breakfast diners, but I'm willing to give all of them a fair shot, who knows, maybe this one will be vastly different/better than the others? Spoiler, this one is not. That's not to say it's bad, but it just doesn't stand out enough for me to wait to be seated to eat here often, or give it a good recommendation. The wait was pretty short, only about 10 minutes which we were informed of. It was probably their busiest time of the week, Sunday around around noon. The server was very nice and a helpful, never letting us go too long without checking up, and communicated well about things she still needed to bring us. The food was nothing special. It's what I'd expect, but nothing interesting. I got a sandwich, and my companion got the chicken-fried steak. The sandwich was pretty boring, and the gravy on the chicken-fried steak still tasted like uncooked flour, and not much else. I'd go back if someone else wanted to go and maybe get a Mexican breakfast item (I wasn't in the mood as I just had Mexican twice the day before).
I can with a party of 8 and was surprised at how quickly we were greeted and seated. The staff here is super friendly. The food arrived fairly quickly after we ordered. I highly recommend the hot chocolate with yummy whipped cream and peppermint sprinkles. We ordered a few of the specials, Crunchy French Toast and Steak Chilaquiles. All the orders came with a generous selection of sides and the prices were extremely reasonable. The Chilaquiles were made perfectly with the eggs over easy and chile verde salsa which had some heat but tolerable. I ordered well done hash browns and they did not disappoint. Everything was seasoned well. I definitely recommend this place and look forward to returning annually.
Nov 2nd 1st time trying this place. This place is popular for sure. Was greeted immediately, Table for 4 about 10/15 min wait not bad. Was pretty busy . Once seated Miguel was our server and was excellent. We ordered and food came pretty quick. Everyone enjoyed their food came out nice and hot. I had the traditional breakfast with huge bacon strips and hashbrowns and sunny side up and everything was cooked to perfection. Hashbrowns were cooked perfectly. Everything tasted really good. Our friend only had one problem with hers. The steak was overdone, but they quickly took care of it and got her another one cooked, medium rare. Everything was great . Typical diner ambiance but was really nice and clean. Bathroom was clean too. All in all enjoyable experience definitely will be back to try more stuff. Enjoy !!!!

When I come back to Reno, I'm coming here for breakfast! The place has a mix of a modern and old timy diner vibe and the booths are spacious for big groups to sit and enjoy. My girlfriend and I had an amazing experience here from begin to end. The staff was kind and attentive, we had a waitress who sat us down and got us coffee and water, and after that it was uphill from there. We had three other servers stop to ask if we needed anything or wanted to give our order, and once we made up our mind the waiter who helped us did a fantastic job. No pen or notepad, he remembered our order with full detail and not one mess up. As we finished out appetizer, sides, and meal he continued to come by and take our plates, refill our water and my coffee. He was on point. By the end of the meal I paid the bill and gave him a cash tip and thanked him. He seemed happy and thanked us for stopping in and conversing with him. Highly recommend this place to anyone, oh, and the food was on point! Sweet, savory, delicious, and it made me wish there was a place like this back home! read more
Arnie's Café is pretty amazing! This was our first visit, but it definitely won't be our last. The relaxed atmosphere and friendly service are both first-class, and the food is outstanding. Our party enjoyed the breakfast crepes, including Nutella and strawberry varieties, a carne asada burrito, and country-fried steak and eggs served with a mix of hash browns and country potatoes. Every dish was delicious, and the portions were incredibly generous. Arnie's Café is a must-visit breakfast spot. Come hungry--you'll be glad you did! read more

Arnie's is a very busy, but nice restaurant for breakfast. Our server was so attentive; we never were without a full glass of water or cup of coffee. She was also so nice and had a smile on her face the whole time. I ordered off the sides menu as I don't like eggs. Everything was delicious and the servings are large. My friend ordered the crepes and I was jealous I didn't! They were the perfect amount of sweet. But my pancakes were very good too. read more
Kid had pancake with side of hash browns Wife had huevos rancheros I had the chilaquiles verde. Eggs over easy. Mom had biscuits and gravy. Everything came out before tip to $50. Good price for high quality good food. Service was excellent they said 20 min wait and we were all seated within 15-18. Ambiance was nice considering how crowded it was inside. Easily a well deserved line out the door every weekend. Support local !! For sure return customers read more
We have came here yesterday with our family (9 in total) and they all voted to come back here. The food and the service are exceptional! Plenty of parking and the staff are always great. The restaurant is fairly large and very clean. Yesterday Carla was our waitress. She provided excellent and very attentive service. This morning, Miguel was our waiter and was great! We've also had Natalie several times. All are excellent! Since we are visitors from California we have tried many different restaurants here in the Reno area. With out a doubt, Arnies Cafe is in the top 3 best restaurants. read more
I heard a lot about this place and finally went to try it. Waiting time was reasonable. I ordered green chilaquiles with steak and eggs and a horchata chai. From the reviews that this place has, I expected something delicious but the chilaquiles were very very salty I told the waitress and well when a food is not reasonably good and mostly they always offer an alternative and well she said absolutely nothing and I had to order extra cream to remove a little salty although it didn't help much. Besides the salty chilaquiles which were the main dish everything else was OKAY. The ambiance was good I loved the spices portraits that they have in the walls and also the funny ones. Entered around 10 am. It's a typical diner with booths, tables and a counter. As I entered the host greeted me. I told her I was going to the counter. As I sat down I was immediately asked what beverage I preferred. I ordered a coffee which was really good. I ordered the senior breakfast(55+) it consisted of a two egg omelette with veggies, my choice of meat (bacon) and country potatoes It also came with toast or pancakes so I ordered the pancakes. The waiter was professional and polite. The order arrived quickly. The omelette was a good size with an abundance of veggies and bacon. The omelette was fluffy and flavorful. The potatoes were also a good amount and cooked just right. The two pancakes were medium and fluffy. I highly recommend this place for the food, service and price. Check it out! read more
We visited Arnie's cafe for the first time last Friday based on the great reviews from yelp. We went around 9 AM this Sunday and it wasn't too crowded - but soon after the popularity showed and there was a wait. What stands out to me from this visit was the excellent service, comfortable clean booths, the wide variety of the menu and good sized portions. I had the breakfast sandwich with ham and one of the fluffiest eggs I've had in a breakfast sandwich with nice crispy hashbrowns. My husband had the chicken fried steak, which is one of his favorites. Perhaps it was what we ordered , and although the food was good, it wasn't great -just somewhat more basic, and it was a bit too oily or heavy on the butter. I took home a portion of the sandwich and after it sitting in the container in the fridge and reheating it wasn't edible the next day. Well give them a try again and try more of the options because they are a great centrally located new breakfast spot to us. read more
Arnie's is close to the airport and I had breakfast there earlier this week before my flight home. There is plenty of parking open in front and it is a table service breakfast and lunch restaurant. I visited it because of its high Yelp reviews and the fact it is family owned. I ordered a two egg and two bacon breakfast with hash browns for $13. I also saw their OJ came in 2 sizes both small and large and pointed to the menu when I ordered the large for $5. The drink came out first with the meal following less than 5 minutes later. The plate looked good with a lot of food on it and I enjoyed every bite. The OJ was very good too. When the bill arrived, I noticed that the OJ price was $7.25. I asked the waitress why it wasn't $5 like on the menu? She said because it was fresh squeezed. I said "but I asked for and pointed at the $5 large on the menu". All she said again was that it was fresh squeezed. I didn't want to get into an argument about it and let it go. Nowhere on the menu did I see fresh squeezed OJ offered or with a price on it. I wasn't brought what I asked for. 3 stars. read more
Good little breakfast spots. The service is great, reasonably priced, breakfast and lunch options. Clean, nicely decorated cafe. Sorry no pics of the food. I got the senior omelet with bacon, hash browns, and sourdough toast. My grandsons got the biggest little breakfast meal with bacon. All good, pancakes could be better. Thank you. read more

Honest dine-in review: Consistency is key in any restaurant. 5/5 delicious! My choice for best breakfast in Reno 2025. Read below The chorizo breakfast burrito matched with the homemade red salsa, a side of guac and some hash-browns make for delicious start to your morning. Welcomed in to a renewed and renovated building, I've been coming here since day one and seeing the progress, and the consistency in the cooking and dine in experience is why I will say this "hole in the wall" spot, is going to make waves in 2026. If you can't tell by the 4.8 star reviews, there's a reason why they're rated so high. Quality food with a sense of pride and ownership from the family. -Chorizo burrito: 5/5 Think of the perfect sized burrito that's light, fluffy, while maintaining a rich flavor of a homemade chorizo. Don't let it sit too long as it is a little wet, but they've got it down just right! It's got enough flavor from the pico de gallo that alone it's delicious to enjoy alone.... But... you add a delicious guac that gives you a green creamy earthy bite, and a hash brown that is perfectly crispy while maintaining a potato's consistency. Marry that to probably the best salsa in town that's not too spicy, not too salty, and has a rich flavor of spice from the peppers that's perfect. They make the salsa in house and I was blessed to have them bring me a side of it and then some.... Service is top notch, food is a 5/5, and the new remodel is begging for you to come try it! Excellent place for breakfast!! I'd say one of our new favorites in the Reno area. Stopped in for a Sunday breakfast and enjoyed the iced Carmel latte, eggs Benedict, and breakfast sandwich (sub egg whites) and everything tasted amazing! Large portions, fair prices, along with quick, friendly service. Food came out quick and piping hot! Place has tons or parking, lots of indoor seating too. The restaurant is a typical cafe style with booths and regular tables, areas were clean. Large menu selection including family friendly options. Plan to go again soon when in the area to try more of the menu. Seems like 9am is the sweet spot, place got really busy closer to 930. A must do! read more

We went back on 6/26/25 and as always, Arnie's did not miss. My brother ordered the Biggest Littlest Breakfast and said it was amazing--huge portions and cooked just right. We had two well-done carne asada plates with crispy hash browns, and everything was flavorful, hot, and just how we asked. Each of us had a glass of fresh orange juice and it was honestly some of the best OJ we've had cold, fresh-squeezed, and so refreshing. The service was warm, quick, and super attentive without being overbearing. You can tell the team really works well together and takes pride in what they do. The ambiance is relaxed and welcoming, it's cozy and feels like a place locals love. It's the kind of spot you look forward to coming back to. Big thank you to the whole team at Arnie's. This is a family run business and they all work there! food was good. Green salsa nice and spicy on chilequiles. One thing that turned me off is the daughter of Arnie who replied to a question I had before we were seated. Wait during week 25 minutes. I asked if I ordered the chilequiles without meat (as it came with steak or a flattened chicken breast) if they take off a charge? or add anything extra to compensate? She said no. it's business in a kind of sassy tone:( Um, I understand that, I said.. but I'm sure with cost of meat right now, I'd be saving you money. kind of rude... personally, I would have added some extra guacamole or cheese.. even if it's not a lot.. because I know that's expensive as well. But, not my business. she probs knew we were "out of towners" as we literally were the ONLY white folks in there besides one other table and the boyfriend server. Btw.. he saved the review.. he was so kind, attentive and willing to do anything to make us feel welcome and happy. He actually offered extra guacomole on the chilequiles!! I would personally not go back. Also, need to note there was confusion to the bar seating. we were told it was open seating. But when I went to get the seats to avoid wait... they told me we could not sit there!! Gave the seats to a few locals instead. our server also apologized for that as well. I think they actually might treat locals over travelers a tad different. so I won't be back. It just wasn't that good to feel that way. And, the ice tea tasted like water for $4.00! I sent back for water. I wanted caffeine. lol. read more
