We like the western village casino and café bellini. A lot of time we go there for the oh so delicious and gigantic banana split. But this time we went for dinner. I gave into my fried food craving and ordered the sampler platter for dinner. I mainly wanted the nachos, but I got the platter. Good deal for everything you get. My husband ordered the fish special. We love that they change specials every week. When you go, the must have is the green chili chicken soup. It is one of my all time favorite soups. "Meh" is the word that best describes Cafe Bellini. Nothing terrible but nothing amazing either, just meh. However when you consider their prices, I think there are better options for simple cafe food in town. We went with a small group of friends so I was able to see and get feedback on a few dishes. Walking through the restaurant, another guest was having Prime Rib and I thought, hmm that's an option. The Prime Rib is served with either a soup or salad starter. I opted for the Chicken Verde Soup. In all fairness the soup was pretty good. It was creamy with a slight verde chili flavor, nothing overwhelming but definitely there. My only gripe was the soup was warm but not as hot as I prefer my soups. I ordered my Prime Rib medium rare. While beautifully plated, my Prime Rib arrived more medium than rare. As a result, the main portion of the serving was more dry than I would have preferred. I don't know if was the potatoes or the gravy but something in this side dish had WAY too much salt. What didn't have enough salt, was the corn side dish. Completely lacking in flavor. My wife ordered the Southern Fried Chicken platter. Wanting to share the plate with a friend, they ordered the dish as "dark meat only". The waitress confirmed they were able to accomodate the request before we finalized our order. What was delivered was a normal serving with a leg and thigh(dark meat) but also came with a breast and wing (white meat). When we challenged the server that our order was wrong, she was assertive in her insistence that our plate did infact have dark meat only. Errr, no, it did not. I realize that educating our youth is a national challenge but if you are in the restaurant service industry, you should understand the difference between white and dark meat on a chicken. Just saying. Another friend had the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich. Although she came hungry to the table, over half was left, citing that the sandwich was just too dry to eat. In my opinion, the food doesn't quite match the aesthetic of the restaurant. The restaurant looks very elegant, but I find the food to be sub par. I've been here many times and tried different items on the menu, but it never quite meats my expectation. On Sunday we were here for Breakfast. I had the Three Eggs with Hashbrowns and Toast, from the Breakfast Specials Menu. Easy peasy right? Except I ordered the Hashbrowns Crispy and they came out chewy and my Toast came out hard. The prices have also gone up...$12.95 for a plate that has no meat and then not cooked right is a bit much. My only saving grace was the service. As a regular im in there 1 to 3 times a week. Play enough and you'll get weekly food vouchers. I have a cpl favorites I get. Turkey dinner so good. Only thing I wpuld change is sage in the dressing and the veggies. Green beans casserole would be better but they usually have mixed vegetables and they are barely steamed. I have to asked them to do them well done so they are soft. Also the chicken wing. Here I am, sitting at the counter cuz the place is packed (20-minute wait) on a Sunday during the brunch run. Busy bees .... I love to watch the wait staff and the kitchen. The water came fast, and I had a quick order and POOOF... I have a plate of 10 crispy, steamy, and big 'N' meaty chicken pieces, 1/2 Buffalo sauce (spicy!!!), and 1/2 Creamy Garlic Parmesan (finger-lickin'). They also offer BBQ, Teryaki, and Lemon Pepper. I also suggest a cup of the Creamy Green Chili Chicken Soup. What a meal. Seriously, enough food for two light to medium-sized eaters. My water was refilled without asking. I witnessed employees being friendly to each other and not once hearing the "f word." It is disrespectful to hear wait staff when they forget we are this close. They raved about the blueberry muffins which came out fresh and warm and was so stupid moist. The food was all probably 3.5 stars not the best but can't fault it too much. Have to say they were all huge portions though so very worth it. The drinks were also very affordable. I got the Bloody Mary and it came out loaded with stuff. Last month my friends and I were craving for something sweet and looking for nearby cafe to go to. We were not aware that the western Village In and casino had this cute little cafe in it. We found it through yelp and I must say hit a jackpot! They have a variety of items on their menu like burgers, salads, appetisers , beverages and desserts. Since then it has been our go to place for late night dessert runs. We have tried their brownie with icecream ( we always get it without sprinkles), New york cheesecake, and dessert of the month. I had a craving for steak and eggs, and wanted to try it from a restaurant I've never been to before. I was running an errand early this morning and I was in the neighborhood, so I went to Western Village's Cafe Bellini. Since it was so early (barely 7am) the restaurant had a few diners but wasn't too busy. The cashier, greeted me warmly as I approached to check out the daily specials posted atop the host's station; he then inquired if I wanted a table, I confirmed and he walked me to a nearby booth. The staff and cooks were pretty jovial as they busily prepared their stations for service. I asked coffee and a glass of ice-water from my server, Lilliam (according to the receipt), then ordered steak and eggs when she dropped off my drinks. The coffee was good and she left me the entire coffee pot plus a bowl full of creamer to enjoy. The food arrived with a minimal amount of wait; it looked amazing-- one medium-well sirloin flanked by golden hash browns, a mini blueberry muffin and three perfectly cooked over medium eggs. I also received a generous four slices of buttery, white toast. The eggs and has browns were perfect; however, I can't say the same for the steak. It tough, chewy and bland; no only did I add a bit more salt but doused it with A1 Steak sauce, ate it together with the eggs and hash browns just so it would have some flavor. At $23+ a pop, I have to admit, it was pretty disappointing. The total price for my breakfast (including tip) came up to about $40-- that's pretty steep for just one person. The service was great but the food could have been better; so in summary, it'll be a while before I return; my experience was alright, and $40 is to high a price for a mediocre meal, especially for my fixed income . read more

First time here! Cafe Bellini has been on my radar after seeing someone post on Yelp about their great weekly $12.95 Chef's Specials. With my son in town, we decided to check it out tonight. The restaurant definitely has the feel and look of a casino restaurant - and there is nothing wrong with that. It was fairly busy but we were seated right away. The regular menu was huge - so many different dishes! But the special's menu caught both my and my son's eyes. It seems that each week there is an all-day breakfast special and three dinner specials. I appreciate that they always try to offer a seafood dish as one of the offerings! My son decided on the London Broil served with mashed potatoes and corn. It came with a demi loaf of bread & butter to start and it even came with either ice cream or sherbet for dessert! I decided to have breakfast for dinner: Smoked Salmon Benedict. It comes with sliced tomatoes, arugula, pesto hollandaise and "eggs any style." After it was delivered to our table, our server came back and asked if my dish had any eggs. No, it didn't! Another table had the same issue so our server realized there was a communication issue with the cooks. Apparently, since there was no mention of which style the eggs should be, the cook omitted them altogether. Kind of funny -- our sweet server apologized profusely and brought out prepared eggs shortly thereafter. My husband had a bowl of their green chili soup and thought it was fine - just not what he expected. For five years I've gotten Christmas dinners for 12.95 from bellinis and while im not a fan of turkey the ham dinners have been fantastic. This year's holiday specials went up in price by two dollars to 14.95. While they offered Turkey the rest of the specials had no holiday appeal. Salmon and sirloin and country fried steak breakfast. I decided on sirloins. I can honestly say Im not at all impressed at all the baked potatoe wrapped in foil not even cut open and still pretty hard is way bigger than this 5 oz sirloin and is served with 1/2 cup of plain canned corn. The demi loaf is the highlight of this meal. I can only say that I will be getting my holiday meals elsewhere from now on and Im sadly disappointed in western village which used to be a great local place to pick up a holiday meal. read more

They do serve breakfast all day long so I was very interested in a hearty breakfast, while everyone else ordered off of the lunch menu. Cafe Bellini has been remodeled since our last visit and has a fresh new look. Our server was quick to get our drink order while we reviewed the menu. Once we ordered, it didn't take long for our food to arrive. All items were seasoned perfectly and very good. Cafe Bellini provided a great experience and will be back. The waitress was great... the food... not so much. The toast needs to be buttered while it's hot so the butter melts, it was buttered cold and hard as a rock! The rest was just ok. However... their prices are so far beyond absurd there aren't even words!!! I made a mistake of choosing it for a birthday dinner, I won't do that again, in fact we probably won't ever go back. Between the cigarette smoke and the prices, just about anywhere else would be better! It's a casino folks... you don't have to rip people off for food. And the ice cream had a very strange texture, that was a first. The manager seemed nice but she really doesn't have to spray paint her clothes on, or wear a size too small especially when you don't have a thinner body shape, there were several comments from diners nearby, the men even thought the way she was dressed looked tacky! We have eaten here three times on different occasions. When I tell people that Western Village is a sister property of Peppermill; they never believe me. Lol. When I lived in Reno and worked in Sparks for a few years; I'd walk around the Sparks Marina twice during my lunch break daily. When one of my co-workers told me to check this place out I was surprised. He told me that it's not bad and don't let the exterior fool me. This was 15+ years ago and I believe they've done renovation(s) since then. The vibe is very chill and relaxed in this casino and in the restaurants. We had a late lunch here on Thanksgiving day. The wait was an hour and a half; but, we were happy that we all enjoyed a Thanksgiving meal with all the fixings for a good price. My brother in law came to Reno with us so he was very happy with this restaurant and of course I had to give him the "fun facts" of WV and this restaurant. The buffets all around Reno and Sparks were very expensive especially since my girls do not eat much. Some of their menu items are pricey; but, their daily specials are definitely worthwhile. On our next trip here, we'll most likely have at least one of our meals here. read more

The two stars are strictly for Sammy only. She was the only attentive employee. Everyone else was too busy talking amongst themselves and made you feel like you were an interruption. The food is your typical cafe fare. I see some people are comparing it to Denny's. I would pick Denny's if I had the choice. I placed a to-go order and had to see 3 different people (host, cashier and server) to get my food which was sitting at the counter for 10min before someone handed it to me. Holidays=brunch for me. After my long work days and hours lately the last thing I wanted to do was make a big breakfast and mess at home. We called over to the Western Village and asked if Cafe Bellini was too busy to take us. We split up into two tables and I couldn't decide on breakfast or lunch; so I ordered both! My son and I split the breakfast platter. Service was great, but my Buffalo chicken sandwich lacked Buffalo sauce. I just asked for an extra helping of sauce on the side. It was busy, but Bellini staff was able to accommodate us at two tables within a 10 minute window. Clean restaurant and love their big booths. Kudos to your staff for the great overall service! Our bus lady kept our drinks full and the our dishes cleared. I will get her name next time. Our server was awesome as well, but looks like I didn't keep our ticket to give them proper credit! I'll fix that next time! I've never had a bad meal here and portions are massive! We look forward to returning, maybe we'll see you for the next holiday! We never stay away too long from the Village. I didn't touch my nachos that I sat and watched while they sat under a heat lamp for a good 25 min..our server that night was inattentive and not very friendly. She did take my item off the bill, but I left hungry and annoyed. The next morning we gave them another try because we were in a rush - service was better, but the male server we had was...interesting lol he never smiled and seemed too serious. Cafe Bellini is located inside the Western Village Casino near the Sparks Marina. I have been coming here since I was little and 9/10 times I have always had a good experience. I have tried their steak & eggs, eggs benedict, cheeseburger, and pancakes.. love them all. Today was my first time trying their chicken fried steak. There are two options for this meal, one for breakfast which comes with hash brown, eggs and toast and the one for dinner comes with a side of your choice of potato and soup/salad. I went with their breakfast option! The meal was a big portion, which I can never finish. The steak was perfect cooked inside but the outside was not as crunchy as I hoped for. There was enough gravy poured over which I liked because some places don't pour enough for you sometimes. My favorite part was the dessert! My family and always get a chocolate molten cake with ice cream whenever it's on the menu and I have to say it's the best one we've ever tried compared to Chili's or the Outback. The chocolate cake was moist and the chocolate filling was rich and the vanilla ice cream balanced the flavors. Customer service was great from the start. We came around 9pm and we were seated right away and was brought drinks within 5/10 minutes. Our food took a little awhile but it was worth the wait. We enjoyed the environment and the other customers around us. I would recommend this place for an alternative last night meal especially if you don't want fast food or one of the other breakfast food chains. read more

In this 24 hour café, the waitress doesn't get the alcohol for you. They have the cocktail server from the casino floor deliver it. So I recommend having a couple dollars cash just to give her! What we ordered: Cadillac margarita on the rocks Steak and eggs medium rare Eggs Benedict Second visit, we came here a little bit after midnight. A little bit different crew, a little different feeling. But this place is still packed. What we ordered: Cadillac margarita on the rocks no salt Chicken fried steak and eggs Ham and shrimp omelette. Weird combination, very delicious. Covered with hollandaise Pancakes San Francisco Joe On both visits the food was very good. Steak was cooked perfect, the holiday sauce is good. We came early to walk around the Marina before we came here to eat. Samantha was our waitress. She's awesome. I'll always ask to be seated in her area if possible. I ordered my BLT with the bacon "extra crispy so it crumbles". She got it PERFECT. Bacon was crumbling out of the sandwich. It was so wonderful that I called her over to ask her to thank the cook! I loved the coleslaw. I can imagine ordering it as a snack if I'm not very hungry. It's the perfect amount of sweet! My husband had a veggie omelette. He said it was good but to remind him next time to get the Huevos Rancheros. Walking around the Marina adds up to 1.8 miles of beautiful exercise. Lots of benches to rest along the way. Oh mychas this place changed. Used to be a reasonable place to eat breakfast. Nothing under $12.95 now. Ordered traditional eggs Benedict. The egg yolks were overcooked, the hash browns overcooked on the bottom and the english muffin burned. Also, didn't get our water until after our food arrived. The menu is pretty extensive, but I narrowed my choice down to the Italian omelet and he got the corned beef hash skillet. The service was a bit on the slow side since they were busy that morning. The waitress was prompt with the water and coffee while we were waiting for the food to come. All of the food (6 plates) came out in 15-20 minutes. The mini-muffin they had for the skillet was pretty small, sad and hard that my boyfriend didn't eat it. I had a small bite of his skillet and after eating my omelet, both dishes were unremarkable. My boyfriend thought that eating tomato sauce on the omelet was weird, but the taste kinda grew on me when I was halfway done with the plate.
