Getting my car worked on across the street at DeVine Automotive (excellent trustworthy shop), and walked over here for breakfast. Wonderfully friendly couple greeted me right away, made suggestions for food and drink. Made small talk about other things, very welcoming. The marzipan cappuccino was delicious. I ordered the Spanish omelette, it was loaded with cheese and meat. The homemade verde was delicious, and the thick local sourdough bread awesome. I'm a sucker for thin sliced home fries and they were just right. I look forward to coming back here soon! One of the other perks was no music playing. I expressed my appreciation for this, as there's very few places you can get away from constant noise anymore. Imagine that, being able to enjoy some much needed peace, read a little, or even talk with your company and not fight to hear each other. Come try this place, you won't regret it.

My friend and I went to Fortis Cafe for breakfast. We were seated right away and the vibe was relaxed and cozy. Just the right atmosphere for a good catch up session. I went with the Eggs Benedict with Bacon and Avocado. Wow, it didn't disappoint. The sauce was perfect, not too heavy, but creamy enough to really bring the whole dish together. The house potatoes were amazing too! They were crispy on the outside, soft inside, just the way they should be. The coffee was a nice surprise too! Just the way I like it , rich and strong! The food came out super quickly, so no long waits which was great. Fortis Cafe is open for breakfast and lunch from 7 a.m.- 2p.m. Monday -Sunday.

Really cute family owned/operated business. Service very prompt and friendly. Coffee was fresh and strong which my husband loved and my hot tea was perfect. We had the stuffed French toast breakfast and the eggs Benedict with a couple of modifications which they were very helpful about. Portions are generous and everything was prepared beautifully. The sauce for the Benedict was a little different than traditional hollandaise but it was absolutely delicious-my husband was stealing it to get it on his potatoes! The potatoes were crispy and seasoned beautifully and the stuffed French toast was light and so good! I substituted fresh fruit on my order for potatoes and it was very fresh. You can tell they put a lot of love into this restaurant. My first visit but we are already planning to return for lunch. Definitely worth a visit!

Location wise - you'd miss this cute little place if you're not looking for it! Located on the backside of the parking lot. Small and quaint, but they can accommodate large groups. They also have patio seating when it's warm enough. The staff were so friendly and welcoming! Very quick service. The menu is small, but they have a decent variety and various types of coffees. They also have different specials each day. I tried the vegetable omelette. Everything was fresh and cooked well. The home fries/potatoes were delicious! I'll definitely be back again.

This was a nice little cafe. It was not super busy for being a weekend. I was a bit shocked, but it could be just early morning. I got the pastor omelet. I liked the pastor flavors and ate it with tortilla. The egg was super fluffy, but I didn't taste the pastor at first with the fluffiness blocking it's beautiful taste. I think next time I'll get the pastor plate so I cam have the eggs. Either way the omelet was good. Our kiddos got a pancake with eggs and sausage They shared it. There is no kids menu, but kiddos are simple for breakfast. My we also had the cornbeef hash. It's home made and was good. They give a lot of food. I didn't finish. They are super friendly and check in from time to time. Indo suggest to try to get there a little earlier as I bet it will get busy later in the morning. There is plenty of parking and the cost is a little bit better than other breakfast places.

Let's get this short stack going!

Trusty Yelp told me to check this place out. Glad we did! Top notch service in the cutest little cafe. They don't have a designated kids menu but told us that they serve a pancake with choice of bacon or sausage and eggs. My grandchildren devoured it. They opted for bacon and over medium egg.

I was with cousins and we had all stayed at the casino and they just wanted to eat there, rather than go elsewhere. My food looked pretty good, but not sure why I tried a dish with hollandaise sauce there. Though my cousins didn't seem thrilled with their choices either. One ordered a French Toast sandwich that came with eggs (he had fried) and bacon: the presentation was confusing as it was simply some French toast with eggs & bacon on the side. He checked with the waiter and he said, "yeah, you just put it together". There's a lot of great breakfast places not far from the casinos and especially if you're leaving right after breakfast, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Also coffee tasted like it was made the day before and been heating ever since. It was so bad though it did wake me up.

Another delicious breakfast meal at Fortis. Our cycling group overwhelmed the owners (10 cyclists) but they did an outstanding job taking care of us. We enjoyed the outside patio. The coffee and waters were continually flowing. A steady flow of amazing dishes. Everyone left full, satisfied and impressed with the gracious service. Well done Fortín

Delicious breakfast in newer spot in town! Don't miss this gem! A lovely couple run this place and the menu has something for everybody; need to come back for lunch. We were seated promptly and ordered specials. I had the Corned Beef Omelet which was housemade corn beef, home fries and I subbed biscuit & gravy for toast! Hubby had the other special Country Style Breakfast which was two perfectly poached eggs on pork sausage and English muffins topped with delicious country gravy and served with home fries. Reasonably priced breakfast and lovely people - go check it out!!!

Cute Mexican breakfast place. Food was delicious. Everything was flavored perfectly. Good service.

    Pastor benedict

Excellent service, INCREDIBLE food, bright cozy ambience. I love this place! I ate the pastor benedict, and my son had the pancake and eggs and bacon. His came out in the shape of Mickey Mouse with a happy face. I ate every bite of mine, it was so delicious. I highly recommend this breakfast and lunch gem!

Until this 4th of July weekend (250/2026) we had never heard of Archie's. It was recommended to us and we stopped in on Sunday the 5th for lunch on our way out of town. What an amazing choice. I ordered their bacon cheese burger. Guess what? It was GIANT. It was delicious. It was perfect. Comes with fries but I got onion rings. The onion rings were perfect too. Largest order of rings I have ever seen. The burger (1/2 Lb I think!!) had nice thick bacon in every bite, two large and fresh slices of tomato, a big old slab of an onion slice, mayo and lettuce. I can't remember if there were pickles. It was the best burger and onion rings I have eaten in at least ten years, maybe 20. We will be back, EVERY time we are in town from now on. I can't recommend this place enough. Special shout out to David, our server. This guy made no mistakes. Laughed at all my stupid dad jokes, was attentive, patient while my companions changed their minds 36 times, and was friendly too. Says it was only his 2nd day on the job, but I wish he had been working for us at our restaurant (Hokkaido Noodle House) in Sacramento. He is a pro already, give him reasons to keep working for you boss. Don't worry, we won't steal him from you, we are retired and closed our joint 10 years ago. Rock on Archie's! Was surprised it had a second floor with a small deck and pretty decent views! Big place. Great Happy Hour Deals (half off drinks) and other specials. I haven't eaten breakfast there but the burger I'd put in the top 4 in Reno. It is giant diameter wise but the meat is the same amount of a smaller thicker burger which makes it no too hard to eat. I'd call this a Purist's Burger. Crisp lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mustard, sauce. They went really light on the sauce to the point I didn't think it had any. Fries were excellent too. Price is very reasonable (that's typical near a college.) I've tried Royce, Juicy's, and The Parlor. I'd put Archies below Royce and Parlor but above Juicy's. Two left on my list are Armando & Son's Butcher Shop and of course Beefy's.

I was really excited to come here especially seeing other people with celiac leaving a review. I am very well versed in cross contact. She barely let me speak, she interrupted, wasn't answering my actual question about what kind of toaster they used and what grill the bread is heated on, etc because she wanted to repeat the existence of cross contact. Good lord. I was one second away from walking out. She was a really piece of work. She then upped the "nice" factor to call me sweetie the rest of the meal which makes me want to crawl out of my skin. Honestly, I am very flexible, I think this place may be better than my first impression but this server needs to be retrained to LISTEN to the customer and answer questions and not just make it an effort to drive people out. This is a few minutes of her time, and I have to live my entire life like this without treatment until I die, so a little kindness and active listening is really a minimal effort for a few minutes every now and then. 3 stars is generous. Food was ok. Restaurant was clean, but the servers need to learn to interact with humans better with more kindness and better listening skills.

Great atmosphere, fantastic artisan food, and very reasonable prices given the portion sizes and quality! The only thing that would make it better is if it was right on the river instead of a block away but prices would probably be higher if that were the case. Everything we had at brunch was fantastic. I don't think you can miss here on the menu. The duck pizza was fantastic but I wouldn't characterize the amount of cheese and toppings as 'generous' but it tasted like the ingredients were really high quality. Outside the pizza, the other items were very generous portions for the price. My only concern was where was everyone on a Sunday early afternoon? The place was like 20% full. Unfortunately, we were stuck back in the rear corner of the building on this visit. The vibes back there are not nearly as nice as the up-front dining. Service was still good even though we were out of view of the main dining area. We started with the cauliflower appetizer. Very well cooked, perfectly tender, and the Calabrian chili oil was perfect for adding some spice. We then ordered entrees, which included the duck duo and a Caesar salad. The Caesar is nothing to write home about. It's fresh and from scratch, but it's just a Caesar. The duck duo came with both duck confit and duck breast. The duck confit was unreal. So tender and so flavorful. The duck breast was a bit tough for my liking, but I really enjoyed the sauce they used on the dish. Most of all, I was shocked by how good the dessert was. We ordered the cast-iron chocolate cake, and it was unbelievable. The sauce that bubbles away in the hot cast iron was spooned onto the rich cake and topped with vanilla ice cream. Nothing better! I miss the old Liberty that used to offer daily specials and killer deals on pasta and pizza, but the new Liberty ain't so bad. It might be a bit more pricey, but still a reasonable option for a nice dinner out in Reno.
