We decided to give Gloria's a try after several raving reviews from friends. I will say I am not disappointed. The atmosphere is quiet and quaint. We came for dinner so it was pretty much empty with the exception of us. The service was top notch. Drinks filled, chips & salsa filled quickly. The menu is basic Mexican faire... I ordered a combination plate that had : cheese enchilada, chile relleno, & chicken soft taco. I swapped the chicken for carnitas... It was an excellent choice. The cheese enchilada left a lot to be desired in both taste & texture. However, the chile relleno was AMAZING! Truly delicious! My husband ordered the supreme nachos with Carne Asada. Not only was it enormous, it was also delicious! The chips and salsa were good as well. My only complaint is that I wish we would have come here sooner. Best food for the $! read more

I had a doctor's appt next door and the receptionist said they were 30 mins behind schedule. I decided to walk down to Glorias kitchen and ordered two chicken tacos. The place was dead- either Covid or because I was there at an odd hour (4pm), but they gave me great service and the tacos were delicious. The corn tortillas were clearly homemade, and tender without breaking apart. The chicken was juicy and the salsa was just hot enough. I can't wait to try it again. read more

Had a couple of tacos here 2 months ago; they were fine. 'Cause, you know, tacos. Today, had the carne asada burrito. It was huge, and the worst burrito I've ever encountered. They take over-salty Spanish rice, mix in some beans and bits of carne which never met asada, in my sense of the word, meaning, on a grill. Here, the beef was overcooked indifferently on a griddle. I had requested a MACHACA burrito and when I got there they gave me a CARNE ASADA burrito I didn't know it was a carne asada burrito until I got to my car and started eating it so I called them and told them about the burrito and they said it was OK I could come in and exchange it so I did and when I got there they gave me the same burrito!!!! I normally don't like to write reviews unless I truly love the place. But I honestly am very disappointed with the establishment. So many good reviews had me convinced this would be a diamond in the rough. However, the tamales were dry, the rice was flavorless and the beans watery. I am 8 months pregnant and could barely move at my table. If you're as pregnant as me DO NOT sit at a booth as the tables and chairs are fixed. Not just my families table but the one behind us and in front of us, all got the wrong food or drink. It's like they don't truly listen to what you're requesting. This place is the Bomb!! I could bath in the green salsa. That is how much I love it. The Huevos con Machaca burrito is my fav and very tasty. Love this place! The servers are always friendly, particularly one man who has been there for years! The food is excellent, the meat is never too fatty like other places. Was debating on writing this review, however I just want to help my fellow yelpers to avoid the same tragedy that met me this morning at Glorias Kitchen. I have heard good things about this little retro hole in the wall plus my sister says she had ate there once and it was ok/good so we all went along with Sis,My son and I ordered the spicy omelette only to change our tomatoes to mushrooms we also both got the hash browns only to play it safe not knowing what would be in-store with the house potatoes. Well first off the chips where obviously store bought and not fresh green Salsa was ok. When our food arrived I immediately was in shock all of our omelettes where covered in processed cheese ( you know the little plastic covered square orange dyed waxy tasting plastic cheese want to be's ) I was appalled and could not believe they would charge almost 12 dollars for an omelette and not use real cheese they had the nerve to cut a piece in half and decorate the top with the two triangles. For goodness sake they specialize in Mexican food Are they trying to ruin their reputation I immediately begin scraping mine off my son followed knowing that I would never serve processed cheese to him it's disgusting the server seen this and asked is there something wrong Well Obviously.... He then offered us real cheese took our omelettes back and replaced them with what where to be totally different type of omelettes we did not order but only to have real cheese this time.. My sister did not return hers however she did say that they had real cheese the last time she was here must be a new chef she was a trooper and stuck it out.. Once we got our food back my son's omelette no longer had jalapenos or mushrooms but now had spinach. My omelette no longer had jalapenos or mushrooms either but now had tomatoes and bell peppers.... Wow my son and I where so done at this point that we didn't bother saying anything about the mix up or how the hash browns were extremely burnt around the edges. My sister ordered the house potatoes with her processed cheese Laden Vegetarian omelette. I do have to say they looked much better then the hash browns we recieved I cannot recommend this place for omelettes and unfortunately I will not be returning to this place again hope you find this helpful. Forgot to mention my 12 year old niece enjoyed her food she went the safe route and ordered the pancakes. read more

Was really looking forward to eating here after all the great reviews but was pretty unimpressed. The salsa was average, I wouldn't dream of bathing in it, as someone else stated. Husband got Carne Asada burrito and I got an ortega burger and fries. Both were okay, nothing to yelp about but the prices ARE very reasonable so there IS that. Service was attentive but we were the only ones there. I may go back but I'm not in a big hurry. Super convenient if you are going to Community Memorial Hospital. You will want to drink their sauces and marinades they are so flavorful. They use the best cheese, too. I've found, however, that this place is my absolute for some $1.50 street tacos and authentic, cheap and delicious Micheladas. Thankful they are in the neighborhood. read more

I understand giving a place 5 Stars might make people upset if everything they order there is not perfect. I cannot speak for the whole menu at Gloria's but I can tell you this... I have had chili relleno burritos and other burritos, and the flavor is excellent. The burritos are so filling I can never eat a whole one. They have a red sauce that is very spicy if I recollect, but what I focus on there is there excellent great sauce which I love to jump all over burritos. I also buy from them for I think about five or six dollars a huge probably 32-ounce soda cup of that green sauce and take it home and poured over eggs and everything. So I'm a little surprised to see only four stars but I would encourage people who like a bomb burrito to swing through here. Really nice family staff also, I love the place read more
