The Cabo fish tacos are my FAVORITE fish tacos ever! I prefer grilled on corn tortillas, so I feel like they are more healthy, but I've had the fried fish & it's fantastic, too. Food was freshly made and a nice waiter (Diego) immediately brought drinks and suggested an appetizer. I ordered the veggie tostadas, nachos and veggie burrito to go. Then I ordered every single vegan taco. I was pleasantly surprised when they came out because all the vegetables were seasoned well & cooked perfectly. The nachos were delicious because they were piled high with toppings and not soggy. I also noticed they generously added slices of avocado! My favorite taco was the "Rico Ocho". It had potatoes and a nice chili sauce. The waiter kindly brought me extra sauces to go with everything. Years ago I was lucky to have to work in Richardson on occasion. I ate at different spots, until I discovered Taco Ocho. This was my first visit to the Frisco location. We had a Taco Plate, Midas, and a Quesidilla. Everyone enjoyed their dish. Chips a Salsa was also very good. I was surprised to see this location had Table Service and Menus. This place really is a hidden gem. The food is wonderful, and obviously fresh. They have a full bar if you wish. Taco Tuesday special is two tacos plus rice and beans plus a side of chips for nine dollars. That simply can't be beat. I really like the fajita taco and also the brisket taco. Both have an ample portion of meat - which is nice. But all of the dishes are very well seasoned, I can't even imagine how many different sauces they have, but every one of them is obviously fresh and made in house. Whoever did the recipes obviously knows various spices - and complex flavors abound Overall, the staff I have seen them working there for at least two years. Stopped in for lunch and got 2 tacos with rice and beans. The restaurant was very clean and the staff were attentive. I got the brisket taco and the jalapeño pork taco. The brisket was tender and flavorful. The pork was very juicy, tender, and smokey. I expected it to be a bit more spicy given the jalapeño but all in all it was very delicious. I tried their corn and flour tortillas, both looked very similar and both were spot on with the char and durability (no blowouts on the corn). The chips and salsa were also very good, the salsa had a smokey char flavor and tasted very fresh. I wish the tacos had some sauce or that they had hot sauces to add, i think if they had some house made hot sauces it could really take them up another notch. I will certainly be back many more times to try some of their other offerings. Would love to try some of their breakfast tacos next time. read more

This is a counter-service establishment and you get your drinks so it's great for larger parties!! I love the stubborn sodas, so yay!! The food was good but the brisket tacos had more onions than brisket so my kid hardly touched that and the beef Colorado tacos were so spicy she couldn't finish the first bite! came here on a whim after driving by it so many times. the staff was really friendly and the place looked clean. however, the food and price was where it lacked. we ordered a cup of queso, side of elote, and two entrees... that came out to $60 (we had fountain soda to drink). i wouldn't mind paying $60 if the food was out of this world, but it was just below average. the tortillas tasted like it came out of a bag from the grocery store. the salsa had a very weird rancid taste. the queso was good, though. overall it just sort of tasted like weird cafeteria food, edible, but not something you'd want again... especially for that price. read more

A local chain restaurant embedded in Dallas' sprawling suburbia. I don't know that every single thing is necessarily bigger in Texas, but the tacos here definitely were. My taco platter included two large tortillas, neither of which could quite hold the fillings they came with. Fortunately, things mixed well with rice and beans and some chips that were left over after I went through the salsa. Many vegetable-based options were offered, and I was quite happy with the ones I chose. It was tough to pick between the tacos and some of the more creative options, including a chickpea torta and a non-cheese quesadilla. This certainly exceeds my expectations for a taco chain in this area, and based on what I ordered, the rest is probably delicious as well. read more

It's a cute local taco place with a good assortment of vegan options. Tried two of their vegan tacos-Madre Tierra Taco and Pura Vida Taco. Of these too I loved their Madre Tierra with kale and Uruguayan sauce-warm,delicious and flavorful. Pura vida was ok as I prefer my tacos warm than the ones with cold fillings. Walked in close to lunchtime with a craving for some breakfast burritos on a gloomy day. I was met with smiles and the recommendation to try the chorizo and I went with bacon for good measure. They almost forgot to toss the salsa in the bad but close call was adverted and flavor what salvaged. As for the burritos the eggs were fresh and tortillas nicely charred but some fine tuning might be needed for an extra visit for breakfast. Potatoes were still a touch crunchy and both came with corn which made for an interesting addition but not one I'd make on my own accord. My son is a nacho lover. I wish I'd grabbed a photo of the tower presented to him, but it looked so good we took a dive in and never looked back. Stubborn sodas are on tap and that's an easy win for me (well, really for him because I will say yes to sugar easier than corn syrup). A local taco restaurant with 3 locations in the DFW area, I've always driven past the Frisco location until I decided to stop and check it out. (I was also craving some breakfast tacos while running morning errands ). I ordered 2 breakfast tacos with bacon, egg and cheese; note to self: one is very filling. With options to call ahead, order online or in person, the location offers limited seating inside. The staff is friendly and quick to prepare orders. Chicken torta, trileta torta and the kale mango salad, fish tacos, vegan option tacos. I think i pretty much had everything on the menu so far. All was very delicious. I like this taco shop because of the Caribbean-influenced Latin Love taco which has shredded beef, plantains, black beans, and cotija cheese - pretty much reminiscent of some Cuban dish coming out of Miami's Calle Ocho (which I think inspired the taco shop's name - but not sure). Also, the Cabo fish taco uses real cod, which was fried and well-prepared and far better than many other fish taco places where tilapia is used. read more

I must say I didn't feel great about paying $18 and change for 2 tacos rice and beans ($14 plus tax and $3 tip). This place does not seem like a sit down restaurant, but rather a fast food/ to go place. Taco Ocho is an amazing, new Americanized Mexican spot. I thoroughly enjoyed the food here, as did my parents. The main reason it's a 3/5 over 5/5 is because they advertise to be very vegan friendly (they are based off of the options they present!) but my husband's vegan taco had a very noticeable piece of shredded chicken in it. The waitress was nice but offering to bring a new plate at the very end of the meal rather than comping the entree or giving future credit, was the wrong move. I hope the service gets better. The food, when made correctly though, is stellar. They have so many options, the portions are really good, and the prices are very fair. I will say their queso definitely needs some work - it's not very flavorful and I've had much better, but this is a minor point. I loved their tostadas and my parents/husband (minus the chicken event) really liked their tacos. We'll definitely be back to try more and to hope for a better customer service experience! read more

The tacos don't look like much, but they're really delicious. This place is in a great location when it comes to ample parking and plenty of outdoor seating as well. The patio was covered enough to where we could eat and not be dying in the sun which was nice, especially shaded in summer as they keep their AC at around 2 degrees indoors. They have a great selection of tacos and tostadas to choose from, everything from chicken to beef to seafood. Prices also aren't too bad at all considering they're hearty enough to fill you up after just 2. I tried both the Cabo Fish and the Ancho Garlic shrimp, both can be made grilled and as a plate so it came with chips and salsa and 2 sies (and the salsa is sooooooo good). The Cabo fish had a tasty chipotle cream sauce on it and the fish was a nice chunk and super juicy. Wasn't dry and bland at all. Same with the garlic shrimp though it had some kick to it but the plantain helped a little with that. Drinks are a bit pricy for the margs given the size but at least they are strong enough to feel like you got your moneys worth. we did both a regular gar as well as a Loco Ocho. The Loco Ocho was seriously perfect for summer. Definitely a great place for fish tacos and getting your moneys worth in the area. read more

Taco Ocho is our go-to tex-mex place. It has been for years. We have even had Ocho catered three or four times. It's always very popular with our house guests. The food is just great (ok, the brisket quesadillas are the best in the DFDub). I have never had a lackluster meal here. The prices are always reasonable, considering the superior quality. My friend and I decided to try out this Taco Ocho to compare to the one in Highland Village since we were already going to be going to the Stonebriar Mall afterwards. We arrived and the decor is very similar, except that they displayed their full menu instead, which I feel like is very helpful especially for those of us who really like to study the menu before we order. This place was clean as a whistle, tables, floors, drink station, bathrooms. The man who took our order was so courteous and helpful while ordering. I went with the taco plate again because it's my goal to try all the different tacos they have. I went with the Beef Colorado Taco and the Jalapeño Pork Taco and this also comes with chips, salsa, rice, and beans. Honestly it's delicious and it's a lot food and the price is great. And the drink choices are so different but they just seem to match the type of food they serve. So for my rating of the two tacos, the Jalapeño Pork Taco could use more flavor and spice, don't get me wrong it was delicious, but with me being a spice lover I was expecting more of a bite and for the Beef Colorado Taco I will have to say it was delicious and had quite a few flavors going on, and I can say I really enjoyed it. The staff has always been helpful in ordering and asking questions. I wish we could get breakfast all day but not and option yet. I really want to come try the brunch. My goto meal is the 2 taco plate and i always get the Latin Love which is a shredded beef taco with plantains and the beer bettered fish taco. Comes with rice and beans and a bowl of chips!
