I went to this diner about a week ago, on a Sunday. I would highly recommend going on a Sunday since you don't have to pay for the parking meters on the street. The back lot behind the diner is very small, so it's much better to park in one of the metered spots on Putnam. It will also be hard to find parking on the side streets - believe me, we tried! The restaurant itself is very cute, lots of windows and brightly lit, and with nice wood booths. It doesn't have that "dingey" feel that most diners have. The host and hostess at the front were very friendly, and even though the restaurant was fully packed, we were seated in about 10 minutes. So don't worry if you come in and the place is crowded...as long as there isn't a huge crowd waiting at the front, you should be able to get a table fairly quick. This place turns the tables over fast, but without the waitstaff rushing you to finish eating - which is nice! I would suggest that they maybe expand their restaurant to include a slightly larger waiting area at the front during times when there is a long wait for a table. Our waitress was really nice, but not too attentive. I would have liked one more cup of coffee, but I fortunately had a very tall glass of water. Not her fault that she was a bit inattentive...it appears the restaurant is severely understaffed with regards to waitstaff. I'm not suggesting they add 10 more waiters, but maybe 3 - 5 more in addition to their current waitstaff. The food is delicious! I had the french toast, fried eggs and bacon, all of which tasted wonderful. My husband had fried eggs, toast and potatoes which he loved. The menu has a wonderful selection of food, which I'm hoping to try on my next visit. All in all a nice place, but they could use more waitstaff and a slightly larger space. read more

Fun diner and it was open on New Years Morning- which is a good thing!. We arrived early and so it was easy to sit but the place gets packed! This is a family place. Loud. Fun. Kid friendly. Loved the decor. It has the diner look and the booths. Seats are comfortable. I wish that they had a better coffee. I had an egg white omelet and it was good, honest but not sensational. Easy access. I so wanted to love Glory Days... I am writing this review after many, many visits... At this point, i can no longer make a "someone had an off day" excuse for the only 24-hour diner in Greenwich. The coffee is always BAD - the worst I ever had in a diner. The service is slow and stingy with refills. My bacon was always burnt. Eggs were overdone and egg specials were consistently over salted. Very underwhelming pancakes. The food never tasted fresh. After New York, Boston, New Hampshire, this is just very, very sad... And expensive. American Diner is an institution - the food does not have to be complex but it has to have soul and that special home-made quality. Glory Days has little soul nor does its food taste like home... ITS JUST ANOTHER DINER!!! As the stars suggest, "meh, I've experienced better" I dunno, maybe it's me, but when is a diner going to up the ante without going to the dark side. Is it a bistro if it serves a great eggs Benedict? Is it a lounge with a great mimosa? Is it a bakery if it has fresh crepes? Seriously, it's a run-of-the--mill diner fresh with 5 pages of omelette's and different stacks of pancakes. Hell it even has a 60s era cooler with "fresh" key lime pie and wedding cakes up front and those sugar mints in the little glass bowl by the register. Normally this place is ok. We usually order grilled cheese and french fries only and pick them up. I paid the same each time i ordered. TODAY, i ordered the same thing except was too busy at work to pick it up. So i used the delivery service. When my food FINALLY arrived after i had to call it was cold! With NO fries. So i called to speak to a manager who was not available and got a rude response that i should have asked for fries! I was charged the same price I've always been charged. I'm calling my bank. Went there on Sunday afternoon- its your typical 'diner' setting. Had the chicken noodle soup, tried the split pea, Cobb salad, waffles and eggs all which were very good my table was satisfied. Great diner, open late on a Friday. Inviting, and convenient, for our first time coming in here as two very hungry people after a long day in Greenwich. Service was very attentive and polite. We ordered the Spanish Quesadilla Wrap, and a shrimp sandwich (which we requested as a wrap as well). Both wraps came out with very tasty fries, and portions were generous. I went here the last time I was in CT. I was very disappointed to find out they are only 24 hours on Friday and Saturday M-Th 6am to1am).... the crappy economy is ruining everything!!! The roasted turkey club is just the way I like it, delicious and slathered in mayonnaise. The milkshakes and pie are also perfect, quintessential diner foods. I do have one or two gripes, namely the mashed potatoes, which are more like whipped potatoes. Also, the new grits seem like instant grits, and for anyone that knows their "My Cousin Vinny," no self-respecting southerner makes instant grits. Price is pretty decent. Three times I've showed up at the door before 6--says plainly on the door they open at 6--but the door isn't unlocked until after 6:05 and the cook doesn't show up until ten after...all three times. I'm surprised by the lack of higher reviews! I went in there for breakfast the other day to find this huge menu with all the great offerings anyone would want from a diner. I told our waiter, just get me a traditional steak and eggs and he asked how I wanted it done, simple! When the plate showed up I was SO surprised by how big the steak was and even more surprised by the taste and quality. It was so well cooked (medium) and yummy! I really liked the food and service and will surely return for an early dinner or a late night snack sometime soon! Went for breakfast, the wait staff seemed to be on a rush even though there were only 3 other tables occupied on a Sunday Morning. A short while after we finished, paid and included a 20% gratuity, a man came over and said, we are approaching rish hour and need this table. Late night, hungry, sitting in my hotel after the hotel restaurant has closed. What to do? Grubhub! Ordered from Glory Days. They made the food nice and quick. Food was packed up nicely in containers that can travel well. Had an order of nachos, greek side salad, and club sandwich. All portions were sizable. no disappointments there. Salad had more "other stuff" like tomatoes, cheese, onions, ect than it had lettuce. Nice ratio. With the nachos I could tell they had some trouble putting a lid on it and it was a bit smashed. Oh no, they put too much food in the container! /s The cheese on top had kind of congealed together, but that's not really their problem, it just didn't travel well. Would have been better if ordered onsite. Still very tasty. It had chips, chili and then lettuce followed with cheese. I would order again. Then we had the club sandwich. Nice and big. I should have just ordered that. Would have been enough food. There's more turkey than the lettuce, tomato and bread put together. Although the food is tasty - I'm always tasting something other than what I ordered. You may as well just tell them send me whatever you want because I have never gotten an order correct. Overpriced and never right. If you order dressing or condiments with your food - you will never get it. This place is not bad, but just ok. Got breakfast for dinner here one night and the eggs and potatoes were just fine for me. My boyfriend got the French onion soup, which was a little bland and the cheese on top was just barely melted. Definitely not a stand out. A fellow Greenwich resident swears by the burgers here and has been coming here for years, though, so I might give this place a second chance. I walked in during lunch time which was a normal rush in any food establishment, I was actually seated right away however at the counter which I preferred. A gentleman came over and immediately got me something to drink. I than had a young woman Roxana as my waitress, she was super attentive and very helpful. I was honestly surprised at how fast the food came out and it was delicious!
