I work in CT all over with a partner from work, we try every diner where we work. I have to say Glory Days Diner is the worst I have ever come across. It is one thing if the meal was wrong, or they forgot the toast completely or they never came back to check on us for even for water or maybe because they know they screwed up my order when I specifically asked no jalepenos for medical reasons. The waitress definitely put no jalapeños. This is just an average diner. I was expecting better quality and more of a homey vibe, especially in this area. The major call out is that the dishes and forks were dirty at our table. The fork had a piece of residue on it... The French Toast was okay. The BLT burger was underwhelming and had American cheese that tasted like Kraft... For the price, one would expect a slice of real cheddar cheese as a standard, not Kraft tasting plasticy processed cheese. The burger bun seemed a bit stale too. Enormous indoor space that is very nice, new, and clean. The staff is so professional and helpful. If you are unsure of what to order, they make solid recommendations. The menu is fantastic, you can find almost anything there including seafood! The food tastes good and is giant sized - be prepared. Although there are some items that are fresher than others. The milkshake is so satisfying! The fluffy pie desserts are both beautiful and delicious. Those with a sweet tooth will be happy. They gave me a giant cookie as an extra gift, which was a nice touch. Service can be slightly slow but because they are preparing everything then and there, and have a lot of takeout orders. There is also lovely outdoors seating for those who prefer. I went in early to read the paper and suggested I take a small both or the counter... but the wait staff, pleasant at the time INSISTED I take the larger table since the restaurant was fairly empty. (I did explain that I plan to be there for a while). Our group of four - after a long day of driving in the rain, was more than hungry. I ordered the oven roasted turkey dinner, which came smothered in delicious gravy, apple herb stuffing, thick mashed potatoes, and huge grilled vegetables. This is not the diner for vegetables from a can, nor a place for instant anything. My friend had the meatloaf, which came with mashed potatoes, topped with fried onions and grilled vegetables. Upon being disappointed by their tuna, melt in the past, I decided to try their crispy fish sandwich, for which the description noted that it would be provided with tartar sauce. upon the item arriving home, it was determined that there was no tartar sauce on the sandwich, however, they did not forget to put on the lettuce leaves, or the tomatoes that were half ripe. therefore, this sandwich was subpar, it lacked the condiment, that was part of the intrigue, for me to order it to begin with. my advice to people ordering out from glory days, proceeded with caution. Service was abysmal, the waiter didn't return to our table once and we had to hound them down for a check. Cute little diner near Greenwich Ave. Staff was attentive and quick. They had good menu options as well. I had a chicken gyro which was flavorful and filling though I did find the fries to be bland. The other person in my party had a breakfast skillet with eggs, potatoes, and the works. It was huge and looked delicious. Prices were very fair. Parking is a bit of a pain as the lot is narrow but manageable. The front of the diner is also poorly laid out and was hard to stay out of the way while trying to pay. I found this business on yelp and it was the closest diner with the most reviews. It seemed like it would be a nice diner experience but I wasn't too pleased. The waiter never came to the table. Another gentleman got seated behind me and then the waiter came to that person, took their drink order, went and got their drink, and then delivered it before coming to my table. He then came over and sat the menu from the other table on my table and asked my friend and I "you guys ready". I ordered my drink and then he didn't take my friends drink order and then went back to the first table to take his food order. He then left for about 15 minutes, returned to the other table with his food and then came back to my table and asked again, "you all ready". No drink in hand. I was already turned off at this point. What a way to end a LONG day of swim meets! Right across the street from our venue we found Glory Days Diner. My 12 year old swimmer was ravenous and he ordered (what he always gets at diners) French Toast, Bacon, fresh strawberries, whip cream ($10ish). He LOVED their french toast and commented that it was _almost_ as good as mine. I ordered the Eggs Benedict ($10.75). The eggs were cooked perfectly but the hollandaise sauce was a bit to lemony for my taste, overall the dish was enjoyable. My wife and toddler had the pancakes ($6.95) and gobbled them down with no complaints. If I am in town again we would definitely stop here for another enjoyable bite to eat. read more

We live in MA and don't have access to many diners, that being said this spot has just about anything you could be craving. Breakfast or lunch, doesn't matter what time of day either. The portions are huge here, price is right. The gyro is pretty good and they have good french fries. The salads are huge also. One part that was disappointing was the desert. It was so flat that the wrap fell apart as I was eating it. 2. The lettuce inside was so gross and soggy. Also, I had to spit out a couple piece of rubbery chicken. The burger was fine. No olives on that please? More olives than usual on the salad. Fries instead of home fries? Home fries. I work at a spitting distance so obviously I'll get annoyed but it's only a near impossible cross of the street that is Putnam. Now although they mess up my order all the time, usually they are very nice about it. However there was this one time; the nice man up front handed me what he mistakenly thought was my order (or wrongly ticketed) and a Caucasian man (probably a manager of some sort) literally snatched the bag out of hand and said "this is the wrong order" without even really acknowledging me and bum rushed to the back and came back with a new bag and said "here". That's all he said. "Here". As he's walking away I ask; "extra Mayo and ketchup in here?" "Yup" he goes. There was no Mayo in the bag at all. I love this diner. It has a classic, slightly kitschy feel to it. Overall, the staff is very friendly and efficient. The food, particularly breakfast and lunch salads, is terrific. It's not cordon bleu, but it's great diner fare. Kid friendly, family friendly, handicap friendly. Good value, clean restrooms, quick service. Why are you still eating here. I live in Greenwich and let me tell you I have seen the good and bad of this place. Stay away on late weekend/Friday nights, you'll be around a bunch of rowdy high schoolers either drunk or high. I know this because this was once me. The only item I am comfortable ordering is a simple salad, wrap, omelette ($15 later for eggs..), breakfast items like pancakes or waffles, and a grilled cheese sandwich. Everything else makes me scared to even consume. I will admit, many really do love this place but for a quality meal you are better off getting fast food or a pizza. Once again the food was awful, service was weak and to top it off, their credit card reader wasn't working. Ordered a California salad which was soggy with overripe tomatoes and wilting lettuce. This is more of a review of the service and the food, since we didn't eat, but everything we say other diners eating looked amazing. Our flight arrived an hour early en route to a friend's party in Greenwich this past weekend and we needed to kill an hour's worth of time before we storming brunch ahead of schedule - we decided to hang at Glory Days. The staff was very nice and totally accommodating. We did have coffee and they even directed us to the one booth in the far back corner that had a power receptacle so I could charge my cell phone! Our waitress, an older gal, had a great sense of humor and was a lot of fun to kibbitz with, as it was still early and she only had 3 or 4 other tables. The room was bright and open with oak and polished stainless steel and neutral tones. Lovely large windows all the way around the restaurant allow lots of natural light with shades to filter in over the booths around the perimeter to the tables in the middle of the dining room. I don't recall seeing a TV on, which is a nice change of pace (we all need to slow down and live life's quiet moments). There was a $3 minimum fee, that I was happy to pay, along with our check for coffee. When in Greenwich again I'd happily return to dine at Glory Days; first 'cause we didn't eat, and second 'cause I'm still jonsing for a plate of diner fries and gravy! read more

The hours said 6am, but no one was around so we waited out in the chilly rain for a bit and then at about 5 after someone opened the door to tell us there wasn't a cook yet ... that worried me, but I was cold and wanted a hot drink. We didn't have to wait long before ordering (so I guess the cook arrived soon after us). My husband ordered an Aztec Omelette and fell in love. He said it's the best omelette he's ever had (so Mexican fans you should try this). I went with the simple pancakes and they were tasty too. It's a good diner option for the Greenwich Ave area. I was there for breakfast on a Sunday morning. The wait was tolerable. Just about 10 minutes. We were seated and the service is decent. I had the corned beef hash with eggs and home fries. The home fries were great. Had nice chunks of crispy potato plus plenty of soft texture sliced potatoes. The eggs were served on top of the corned beef hash. Maybe it's the area, but I was very surprised that the corned beef was the canned style. Not sure why a higher end diner like this would not make their own corned beef. Aside from that, the people I was eating with had some Mexican style omelettes. They seemed to like it. I already had my quota of coffee before we had breakfast, so I just had water and can't comment on the quality of coffee. So, in all, this is a solid diner in a great area of Greenwich.
