I saw 800 plus reviews and I said, well, this place must be good, and it was ! The skillet ah! Yes, a must have. The onion soup, the mash potatoes, everything was cooked well and tastes delicious. Customer service was excellent. I can see why this looks like a local favorite.

I ordered the California Bennie and it was FANTASTIC!! Absolutely delicious and actually a good price for the amount of food you get ( as a GA girl currently living here, this is RARE). All staff were so positive and attentive!! The restaurant is exactly what you would expect at a diner! Will definitely be coming back here again!!

I know my picture doesn't do justice, but the portions here are massive. I mean a taco bowl with 3 eggs over chorizo for breakfast? So good. The service was a touch slow and it was difficult to keep the coffees coming, but everyone seemed to thoroughly their food. Seems as though this is the one few diners in town, I don't have a lot negative to say - it's classic diner flair, prices are good, and the portions are great. Always great to be accommodated as a larger group of folks when from out of town. Would love a chance to go back to see if I can make this a 5 star place!

I ended up getting an iced coffee (not sweet at all which I preferred) and a cajun grilled cheese! What is that you may ask? Well, it's sharp cheddar, mac and cheese, and bacon in bread! Delightful, I ended up taking the bacon out because it was a lot, but otherwise very impressed with this restaurant! I will be back! :)

It's a small, no-frills place that's really not much to look at from the outside, and honestly, we almost passed it by. That would have been a huge mistake. The food was outstanding. Sometimes the simplest breakfast is the hardest to get right, and they got everything right. The eggs were perfect, the sausage was delicious, and the home fries were some of the best we've had. The real star was the pancakes. They were light, fluffy, packed with flavor, and easily some of the best pancakes we've ever had. Don't judge this place by its appearance. If you're looking for a truly great breakfast, give it a try.

We sat at the counter. The staff was friendly. Everyone was working hard and happy to help. The food was filling and delicious. Was this a Michelin star, fine dining restaurant? No. Of course not. It's a dive-y, unassuming breakfast spot, with a slant towards Latin items (think breakfast tacos, huevos rancheros, etc), although they have all the standard breakfast items. The prices are very fair and the food was good, hearty, and simple, with great flavor. For breakfast, this is exactly what I want.

I've practically lived at the Stamford Diner over the years, even spending entire work weeks…read moreworking remotely from here (pro tip: the free Wi-Fi is actually reliable and they have plenty of seating so you don't feel like you're overstaying your welcome). Location-wise, it's incredibly convenient--right off Exit 6 on I-95--and unlike most places around here, they have a massive private parking lot so finding a spot is never an issue. Inside, it's huge, but it still manages to keep that classic diner warmth. They also have a full-service bar with TVs if you just want to grab a drink and catch a game. At this point, I've tried practically every entree on the menu, and honestly, the food and service never miss. There's a reason this place was featured on *Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives*. A few personal standouts after coming here so often: * Breakfast & Soups: You can order breakfast all day, but do not overlook their housemade soups. We almost always grab a quart of the Chicken Noodle or the Chicken Matzoh Ball to go. * Salads: If you want greens, the signature salads are excellent. If you don't want meat, get the Arthur Avenue Salad (the fried eggplant and fresh mozz combo is perfect). If you want chicken, go for the Crispy Chicken Paillard or the Balsamic Chicken with mandarin oranges and crispy noodles. * Mains: If you love red meat, the ribs are so tender they literally fall off the bone. The Mediterranean dishes are also a major highlight--especially the Greek Gyro. And if you're craving seafood, the Seafood Fra Diavolo (shrimp, scallops, mussels, and calamari over linguini) has a fantastic spicy kick. As great as the food is, it's really the people that keep regulars coming back. The staff is incredible. Getting to know Laura and Ari has been the best part of eating here. They treat you like family the second you walk through the door. Whether you're stopping in for a quick bite off the highway or looking for a regular neighborhood spot, you can't beat this place. Pro-Tip: When you're ordering take-out from here, do yourself a favor and use the Slice app. I stopped using the major delivery apps because their 20-30% commission fees just bloat the final bill for everyone. Slice is entirely dedicated to supporting local, independent spots instead of massive corporate chains, so the restaurant doesn't get hammered on margins and you aren't paying inflated prices. Plus, it's super easy to customize your order right through the app.

We do notice two empty tables outside but understood that maybe they don't want to seat people and overwhelm the kitchen. After about 10 mins of waiting we're offered one of the tables that had been empty. (Which were outside). No menus given but we noticed the QR codes. Guy comes by and drops off cups w ice and a carat of water. Waiting... waiting.... Finally another server comes and asks if we'd like to order drinks. Yes, and our meals bc we've been sitting here for quite some time. We get our coffees and there's a lot of grinds at the bottom of the cups, server switches it out. We finally get our food and two of the three meals were not hot, not even warm. But we're hungry and eat but when the server checks in my sister says "honestly for as long as we waited we would've expected hotter food, these two (egg dishes) are cold." He apologizes and says he'll let the manager know. The manager, who I can only assume is Lisa (based on the responses I'm seeing here on Yelp) came out and said I hear the food is cold? And was very aggressive right off the bat. Saying everything comes right out of the kitchen and to the table, we don't have heat lamps. Offers to "reheat" the food (but how, the microwave?) we're already half way thru the dishes as we had waited a long time. My sister tried to express that after waiting for a table, service and grounds in the coffee that this was disappointing - the manager interjects w "well did you tell him did he give you a new one" She does NOT take criticism very well, she's abrasive and leaves a bad taste in your mouth. She then came out (after I assume finding out the whole story and how long we had been there) she said she would take the two items off the bill, which we weren't gunning for. As we just gave honest feedback when asked how everything was. We then noticed her come and check in on the other tables outside bc people who got there well after us also got their food at the same time... As much as I'd want to come back and try it again bc the promise is there. The manager was such a turn off, that I would be spending my money there, again.

Inside is fairly small but the tables are large and can host groups up to six per table. They do have a giant menu filled with all sorts of options, some of them are pretty crazy, especially the influencer section of the menu. I started off with a cup of the chili and wasn't a huge fan of it. It tasted more like the Cincinnati chili and had a large amount of oil. For my entrée, I chose the cheesesteak and was hoping it was going to be like a traditional Philly style, but it wasn't quite. I liked it more than the chili but still made me wish that I ordered a tuna melt or something else. I would give it a try again on a future visit but would want to try it again before I recommend.

Today was the first time we've eaten here in years. We were seated immediately but we waited more than 40 minutes for the food to come. We watched people leave because they could not wait for their food any longer. At first, I thought a chef must have called out. When our food finally came, I was forced to look at the most unappealing home fries that were molded to the plastic container they were stored in. At least try to make them look fresh bru. And the whole restaurant was cold. I was cold. The food was cold. This place should be called COLD Street Diner, am I right? And the coffee refill came like once. In the whole hour and a half we were there. The only times someone would walk by was to clear a table, or that guy idk who he is idk if he's the owner but he was wearing balenciaga sweatpants and then he would just go stand by the register to sip on some wine. My mother ordered the huevos rancheros and they were bland asl. I ordered the birria omelette and it was BLAND EVERYTHING WAS BLAND!!! The birria was just wet it didn't taste like anything bro. We haven't been to the Norwalk location but a lady sitting next to us noticed that we weren't happy with our food and she was speculating that all the good cooks got transferred there. Whether it's the cooks to blame, or the fact that it's a busy Saturday, it's safe to say we will not be coming back.
