Ordered takeout from Glory Days this evening - sliders for my youngest, hamburgers for my wife and oldest son, and 48 wings for me and my middle son. I asked for flats only and the young lady who took my order told me that she would try but the kitchen was really busy. Really?! How much extra time does it really take to sort out flats only. I'm convinced she didn't even ask the kitchen! And on top of that it looks like we got extra drummettes! Ridiculous. read more

Update review a year later! Still giving it 2 stars... We went in as a group of 5. 2 kids and 3 adults. After trying to sit us at 2 separate 4 person tables, we asked for a table to actually accommodate our party. We finally sit down and wait for a while before our server comes and greets us and takes our orders. Everything is fine. She takes our food orders next and then we wait. For about 45 minutes. Keep in mind, this is just a Tuesday night and its not even really crowded... So I flag down the manager to see what's going on, and our food is finally brought out. Everything looks great, except one order is wrong, so the manager goes back and fixes the order for us. Food is great, as usual, just definitely not worth the wait. I just don't super get what the problem is with the wait times here. If my family didn't like this place so much for its close proximity, I would just avoid this location until something is changed. read more

Stopped by for lunch. Place was very empty. A young man who seated me and after waiting 15 min and two waitresses walking past me I went back to the door and interrupted him as he was watching a movie on his phone and had ear buds in. He didn't hear me. Finally I got his attention and ask if he could find my waitress. He literally grunted and slowly walked to the rear of the restaurant. Soon a waitress arrived (now 20 min since I arrived to an empty restaurant) and she was fine. Took my order for a bowl of chili and a salad. Food was good. This place was packed! Experience: lots of TV's with lots of different sports on and Cartoon Network on for the kids. The bar was crowded and loud. The food was ok reasonably price but the waitress got my order wrong. 2 kids 2 adults No alcohol and we spent 56$. 3 stars is as high as I can go. read more

The service is not what it used to be. It took way to long to receive a drink from the bar. I ordered a beer ahead of my meal, and it did not arrive until after the meal was finished. There must be a disconnect between the waitress taking the order, and the bar attendant delivering the beverage. When I complained, I was told they were short staffed that evening. My experience was not what I expected it to be, and I will visit another restaurant the next time I dine. read more

First off we are regulars ar Glory Days Burke, we are in minimum 2-3 times per month and have been for years. We were supporting during COVID lockdowns getting takeout often, sometimes weekly. We came in on Sunday night (8/7/2022) for a dinner. Restaurant was about half full, our server had 3 tables (including us) but was one of the worst serving experiences we had (and that includes the Great ginger ale debacle from last month). Server stopped by after we had been seated for 5 or 10 minutes to tell us he would be right back. Took another 5 minutes for him to get back for our drink orders. Drinks come, food ordered, it's all good until he never comes back. Manager comes out with our food, my husband's burger is wrong. His blue cheese and onion burger has mushrooms (not standard and that he didn't order on it). Back it goes, waiter comes back with new burger. They dumped blue cheese on to of the wretched mushrooms, back a second time. Now since waiter disappeared ignoring our empty drinks and my crab cakes are getting cold. I go to the bar for a Soda refill. Bartender offers to bring new drinks to our table and just about flies over to our table to get my husband's order. Then bartender brings new drinks in the extra large glasses. Bartender is rock star and deserves a raise. Waiter should be retrained, better supervised, or let go. read more

I go out of my way to avoid going here. Unimaginative menu, lower end sports bar fare. Fish and chips are usually sitting in a puddle of oil. Really bad beer selection. Coors, Miller and Bud Lights. Maybe 1 selection from Port City and Old Bust Head. But the IPAs are all put out by Budweiser owned places. Nothing Belgian to drink. No thought given why they are on the beer list, just that whatever is the cheapest to fill up the taps. They do have nice sports memorabilia adorning the walls If you like flavorless food and cheap Coors Light, this is your place. read more

Glory Days advertises and posts a special Sunday Bruch menu, but when we went there, they say they didn't have it and hadn't have it for a year. False advertising. Don't go there if that is what you want. The regular menu items were pretty good, but pricy if you wanted anything different from the baisc menu offerings. My boyfriend and I ordered some wings, we asked for hot and all flats(no drumsticks) they came out and there were 6 drumsticks and 6 flats we kindly asked if they could Fix them! Our waiter grabbed the basket and brought it back in the kitchen. Not even a min later the manager comes out and throws the basket back down saying he will be right back! We look down and it's the same basket they just picked out the drum sticks and brought it back out. Not only did it look messy and unappetizing, working in a restaurant myself when a customer sends food back you must ring the food up again and bring a whole new order on a whole new plate! When I asked the manger when we he came back out with my other 6 flats he proceeded to defend himself and kitchen. Saying "if you would like you can come back as see in my kitchen we all wear gloves." If really wanted to I could have gone back there and found something. Like today I went back with my family and we found a receipt in our sweet tea! Glory days is turning into a dump! My boyfriend and I went back to give them another chance. I ordered a blue cheese onion burger no bun! When my burger came out it was the wrong burger my boyfriend flags down the manager and asked if I could get the burger I ordered in the first place! Keep in mind this is he same manager that got mad about the wings! Next thing I know he's coming out to our table pointing at us and walks over to our table saying these are the people that said it like yelling! Here comes the head cook asking all theses questions. I really do like Glory Days Grill. But this place is the absolute worst. Every time I ordered take out from here the food is warm to cold. I called and they said it would take 20 minutes, but I was sitting in front waiting so I could get hot food. Came out almost cold. Asked young lady if she could warm up my food in microwave and no one came out for 6 minutes. Went in and spoke to Manager. She took 4 minutes. My younger brother went here and was cursed at and treated awfully by a girl with orange dyed hair. They brought out an extra cheese fry on accident , and when the young woman came to the table she proceeded to curse at them and say "why the f do you have an extra cheese fry?" After that, they went to go cash out and she proceeded to curse at them more and tell them "you f'd up, not me" when, clearly, she is the only one who has control over the check. I find sometimes after a hard day on the fishin' boat I like to head out to a place to eat before heading home. Yelp told me this was the best place in the area with BBQ, so I gave it a shot. BBQ was adequate. Not flavorful, but not bad. Next time I tried the Fish & Chips. I've pulled better out of the water myself. My biggest issue with this restaurant (Burke location) is the servers are trying to carry too many items from the kitchen. I was served food that was pressed up against the shirt of my server. On a different visit, I sent my food back and decided not to reorder anything after my food was delivered partly under the armpit of the server. The servers need to understand that a thumb in your salad is not acceptable! I don't place too much blame on the server(s) as I do, management! This is poor training and behavior! If the servers are not trained on how to deliver food "safely and properly" they will believe that is the way food is served to customers. It's been a few months since we've been back! My review is not to deter anyone from eating here, but be aware of how your food is being served to you! This must be a favorite for locals as various people were shocked that it was our first time in. If this is in fact true, locals must have low standards. The wings were over fried, low quality boneless wings, the sauces were nothing spectacular. The burgers were below average, and our waitress (she may have been new) was annoyingly awkward. Ordered burger medium and it came rare, but that isn't what prompted this infrequent reviewer to review. I came on half price bottle of wine night and ordered one. To my surprise, first time in my life, waiter said they wouldn't let him bring the bottle to the table....only a glass at a time. Weird but okay... Then when I finished my second glass it was full of sediment (indicative of the bottom of a bottle), and when I took the remaining half of my bottle home (only drank two glasses) it came substantially lower than half. I feel scammed, and am extremely turned off. Perhaps my first two glasses weren't even the bottle I ordered...bizarre. Won't be returning...hope it was worth the marginal savings for them...or the folks in the back enjoyed the glass of wine I got skimmed. read more

This Glory Days in Burke, Virginia is subpar and outdated compared to the ones elsewhere. I was a customer here. Staff are unkind, rude and unprofessional. It takes too long to be served. There is also one Latino male night manager who is incredibly hostile towards women. I will never return to this Glory Days ever again; it's just not worth it. I felt very uncomfortable here and was threatened by the night manager. This is a very terrible place. Steer clear of it if you value your peace. read more

I'm not gonna lie, I wasn't really expecting much when I visited Glory Days. After all, it's in a relatively dingey-looking strip mall in Burke, and while I really love its sister restaurant, Fanfare, I was pretty much planning to chalk Glory Days up to just another sports bar. But man, oh man, I gotta say, Glory Days seriously rocked my world! I don't know why I haven't been coming here more often! The space is big, laid out well, and there are seriously so many TVs on the walls, I'm not sure there's even any wall space left. Any game you could possibly want to watch? I'm sure you can do so here. They even had one TV tuned to cartoons for the kiddos when we were there! There's a little radio thing on every table so you can tune into whatever station you want, and a paper football to play with while you wait for your food. As for the food itself, their menu is definitely extensive -- everything from wings to burgers to american fare entrees, as well as specials! And while this is totally a local chain (the Burke location has been there for 17 years!), the menus seem finessed and produced as if it's a national chain! They're laminated and very nice. My boyfriend, his sister, and I started with the spicy garlic wings, which were pretty dang good, and partook in their Monday burger special -- any classic burger on their menu for just $5.55! I don't think the restaurant was expecting as many people as they had that day (snow/ice day and all), so they seemed a little stressed, as did our waitress. But she never forgot about us, was preemptive on giving us drink refills, and I was generally really happy with my experience. Next time we go, we'll have to try the cheese fries, as everyone on Yelp says they're amaaaaazing! read more

This neighborhood waterhole is growing on me. If you're a Burke resident, you'll inevitably end up here soon. SERVICE The bar staff and wait staff are super chill. I would not consider myself a regular, but I have noticed that with my infrequent visits the bar staff seem to remain the same. Lots of regulars/locals too. FOOD A pleasant surprise- It's a bar, serving bar cuisine, but they do have something for everyone. Monday- Burger Night Tuesday- Taco Night Wednesday- Fish Fry HH Drink and Food Specials Tons of TVs. On any given sporting night, the bar will be full. Glory Days doesn't really have a lot of competition, but it's nice to see the additional efforts that they put in to keep patrons coming back. read more

How I have not written a review for this place yet baffles me. I have been living in the Burke/Springfield area for a few months now and this is my go to place. First of all, it is one of the only places in the area that stay open past 9:30. Second, they have some really good workers here. Sadly, Chloé and Melody are not there anymore. They were really nice. I typically have bad experiences with younger staff but they were exceptions. That said, the bartenders have been great and other servers that work here are all very good as well. A lot of locals hang out in here and I have met some great people while just having a beer. They also have a really good Irish Red on draft. Food, I enjoy the desserts! They have good burgers, the mac & cheese is good, hell, I have had a lot of menu items and specials (if they ever have the fried mac & cheese bites get them!) and I have been happy with just about everything I have had. The southern ripper is pretty awesome as well. Oh, boneless wings (fried or grilled) with Glory Day's sauce... really good. I am not saying this is five star dinning, but it is good food and good service with good beer at good prices. Another thing to think about, if you are not a sports person... think about that the night you want to go here. Monday nights during football season can be a little rough. read more

Stopped in for a late lunch with my daughter after her soccer game. I regret that choice! We were seated immediately, but sat for over 15 minutes before a server approached our table. My meal arrived, but not my daughter's...And, no drinks. Then, my daughter's meal arrived, AND STILL NO DRINKS. Finally, our drinks arrive, and my Peach Iced Tea tastes like watered down tea with a barely noticeable hint of peach. I changed to Diet Coke. The food was typically average, but my daughter's dried out mashed potatoes was a new low. We have given this place numerous chances, but it's always been a poor experience with the food or service, or both. Even discussion with a manager on several occasions had yielded an even more unpleasant experience, and confirmed that they are not interested in continued business from a family of five. My visit today was my last charity visit to Glory Days...They can keep their crappy processed food, and I'll take my money elsewhere! read more

We had a large party of about 25 people (basketball team). They accommodated us in a private room in the back which was perfect. They were able to do separate checks (brilliant to have us write down our orders on separate sheets) Service was great - food and drinks came out timely and were all correct. We have a daughter and teammate with multiple food allergies and they were wonderful with ensuring our girls got the right/safe orders. Would definitely recommend and we will be back. It's places like this that wreck any hope that I have for staying on a diet and make my trainer want to strangle me. Though it was 8PM on a Saturday, we were seated after a short 5 minute wait. The Cheese Fries were fabulous just like you said, Yelpers. Our waiter was attentive and kept the drinks flowing. I give this guy stars because he managed to keep up with our demanding alcohol appetites as well as our to-go order towards the end. I had the Blue Cheese Burger. Sometimes restaurants will skimp on the cheese (damn them), but this was not the case here. Plenty of blue cheese and plenty of flavor. Glory Days is a sports grill with a decent amount of beers to choose from. It's definitely straight bar food, don't expect anything but. The quality of the food is surprisingly good. My fiance really loves their wings, their mac and cheese is some of the best I've ever had, and their fried asparagus is delicious. But there's just something about that place that, whenever I get the check, I feel ripped off. The other night we got one drink each, a half-order of wings, a cup of soup, and four sides (not appetizers, just sides) to share. It came to over 40 bucks. I don't know, when I go out for greasy bar food, I expect it to be one of the cheaper meals I have. Overall, I like the food, but the atmosphere and the price knock two stars off the top. read more

I've been going to Glory Days for as long as they've been open (over a decade). It's always good; some of the best bar food in the fairfax/burke area. It's a simple recipe for success -- marry a sports bar with a family restaurant experience and put it in a local strip mall and boom, instant hit. But if you do go here, stick to the typical bar choices from the appetizer or sandwich sections of the menu (and avoid any of the 'features') and you will be satisfied. The Philly Cheesesteak or Grilled Chicken Sandwiches, especially, are my favorite things. Chicken Breast is big, cooked well, covered in melted swiss cheese with freshly cooked bacon. Get it with a side of hot wing sauce and you're in business. My big issue with Glory Days is that their beer prices are way over the top. They charge you like you're at an Arlington or DC bar on a busy friday night -- despite being a simple strip mall restaurant in the suburbs. It's nice that they have pitchers and all, but I don't need to pay $17 for one. GD has a separate area for Carry Out, which is great for avoiding the traffic in the restaurant proper. read more

Worse service ever. Was looking forward to a relaxing dinner with our youngest grandson and were we disappointed. Our meals took forever and our meatloaf sandwich was not only missing the fried onions but it was missing half of the meat loaf and cheese. The only saving grace was that our grandson's meal came out quickly but the rest of us had to wait. When we talked with the manage about it he was not at all apologetic and blamed the "TO GO" orders and the back logged that they had caused on those of us who decided to dine in at Glory Days. This is not the first time that our experience at Glory Days has been less than desirable and maybe its time to go elsewhere. read more
