GD was our happy hour spot on fridays during the schoolyear for the past 5+ years. we showed up religiously at 3pm (or earlier) with a group of anywhere from 4 to 20 people. maybe missed a couple of fridays here and there but those times were rare. for some unknown reason, at the start of this year, the manager gave away our seats to another group who called ahead to reserve seats (at 3:00 the whole restaurant is empty). this happened not once, but twice (even after we expressed our dissatisfaction the first time). you would think that more than five years of consistent patronage we would be somewhat taken care of. apparently not.... i feel bad for the servers who were always attentive and the bartenders who poured good drinks. unfortunately, due to the nonsense that has occurred from a management standpoint this year, we will be taking our money elsewhere. read more

Been coming here ever since I was in high school. Great place to come if you're with friends and trying to watch some sports. This place is filled with TV's hanging from the top of the walls. Food is pretty average here, typical bar food. Burgers, wings, fries, the works. They do have a decent selection of beer and cocktails as well, but their happy hour is WEAK!! Its weak in the sense that there pretty much is no happy hour... But, they make up for it by making a selection of their appetizers $5 after 9 pm. This includes wings, cheese fries, tex mex egg rolls, and some others I forget. It gets hella crowded here on Fridays and Saturday nights with high school kids... go figure. Overall, if you're trying to catch a game you want to watch with your family or friends, this is a pretty nice place to go to. Bar food, and alcohol... emphasis on alcohol haha. Btw many people don't know this but... if they're not showing a game you're trying to watch, you can ask your waiter to change one of the TV's to the game! You're welcome!! read more

This place is always crowded. Good place to get a drink, but it will be noisy. Lots of TVs. I like how they change the menu and add some unique sandwiches. Glory Days was never on my eatery bucket list until a few months back when my wife and I attended a Northern Virginia Magazine Chili Cook-off where we found Glory's chili, although may not have won the contest, ended up to be our preferred! Since then, we've been looking for the opportunity to check them out. When we finally did recently, we were amazed at the depth and breadth of their varied menu selections - its not just barbecue or chili, it's quite a bit! Simply enough, we started with Ice Tea, then my wife ordered their 3 Slider Platter of 3 Mini Cheeseburgers with grilled onions and sautéed mushrooms - terrific; I had The Pittsburgher, a fantastic rendition of the classic sandwich with corned beef and pastrami grilled with melted Swiss Cheese and topped with the "Crowning Glory" a Fried Egg. I must say, the service was good, the place was clean, the atmosphere combined the best of a family eatery, neighborhood watering hole, sports bar (televisions surround you) and great selection of tasty eats. I find it an absolute 'Redneck Bar'.... cramped, dark and uncomfortable !! Food was terrible and very bad quality. It was a family meeting with my in-laws and I had to go there. Otherwise I would have probably walked out right away the minute I had walked in. But back to the food again - The Salad tasted old and the ingredients were not fresh. The portions were stingy regarding to what we paid for it. Leave your money at a nice place and leave this Restaurant to the local Rednecks. Oh, and the waitress was brash and unprofessional. Eh - wasn't my choice to come here, but the company was good and I had about 50+ TVs in my direct line of vision. The server was decked out in Packers gear - if it couldn't be the Browns, Packers are the next best - and refilled my water so often I almost floated away. I know, I know, I didn't order beer at Glory Days? I was driving, and it was dark, and Burke's roads weren't that well lit. Gimme a break. And the food - I had the 1/2 order of the Macho Nachos. Macho in-deed. I was totally going to order a salad but was meeting my bf's friends for the first time and didn't want to be "that girl" who ordered a salad at a sports bar. Then two of them got salads. FML. The machos were ridiculous. Smothered in cheese sauce, beans, chili, sour cream, with a tiny bit of lettuce and tomatos, they were just...ridiculous. Mediocre food. Worst service. Some ignorant teenage waitress threw our plates of food at our table just because she was upset that she hasn't made any tips her whole shift. Apparently many people came for wing night that night and just left without tipping her. Is that really our table's fault? Did I deserve that kind of cruddy service because of your situation?! I am a very high/generous tipper, but her subpar service made me want to give her nothing. I have never had food thrown at me in my life before that night. BAD: - Very crowded, long wait if there is a good game on. - Sometimes you have to walk through a smoke cloud from patrons and employees smoking outside the front door. - Fox News is on every 5 or 6th TV. Its a little odd to have non-sports on the TV's in a sports bar. It's even weirder to have a channel like Fox which, based on electoral data, could be deemed offensive to a large portion of patrons in this area. In the back of this bar-slash-restaurant is about two miles of pool tables and flat panel TV's blasting sports. Up front are deep, cozy booths serving a variety of yummy Americana cuisine. The most popular dishes here are the chili with spaghetti dishes. They have three or four distinct kinds of chili--ranging in spice, tomato-e-ness, and from only meat to only beans--and they can all be served atop mounds of overcooked spaghetti a la spaghetti sauce. I understand that Glory Days is busy, but this was seriously unreasonable. Myself and a few friends went here on a Saturday around 1pm for a small, late lunch type of thing, and most of us ordered appetizers, with only two of them ordering a real meal. We get out orders in and wait...and then wait some more...and then wait some more...and then who I believe was a manager (not our server) comes over and asks if we got our food and need the check. ????? We inform her that we have still not yet received our food (at this point it's been about 30 minutes) and she says she'll get on it right away. So we wait...and then wait some more...and finally 20 minutes later we receive our food. Almost an hour for overpriced bar food? The food itself was good, but not worth the price and definitely not worth the wait. The establishment is busy and loud, the service is not attentive, and the food is mediocre for the price. It's not worth it to come here for just a meal, so I will not be back. read more

Have been going to this Glory Days since 2001, and all three of my children have worked here at some point while they were in high school. What they do well is great: wings, burgers, fried shrimp, salads, and the best ranch dressing around. What they don't do well ends up being very overpriced basic food. Posting this as a warning to those considering the new menu item of Ribeye and Cauliflower mash. Do not waste $20 on this mess. I never send back food, and while I wanted to send the whole dinner back - just asked for the Cauliflower mash to get replaced with mashed potatoes. The worst flavor I have ever tasted and normally love this dish. The ribeye?? Full of fat, gristle, chewy and 1/4" thick. Total disappointment. That said, service was great. read more

I came here with a friend and her baby on a Friday night after work. I had to wait only about 15 minutes for a table during dinner rush luckily. Tina was quick to greet us and grab our drinks. I had a buy a meal, get a free appetizer deal and ordered the bacon cheese fries. It came out really fast and tasted great. There was a ton even though I only got the half. I ordered the boneless wings as well. For the nuggets, I got half korean #2 and half garlic buffalo. The boneless wings were cooked great - usually I have an issue with them because most restaurants over-fry them. However, Glory Days cooked them perfectly and it didn't have too much breading on it either. The sauces were both really good and I would recommend trying them. I ended up taking part of the fries and wings home for leftovers. I'll definitely be back here when I'm craving wings! read more

They have a gluten-free menu, and they do it right! Caution: The gluten-free buns have dairy. Excellent burgers (especially if you upgrade to the USDA Prime). I love how you can customize your burger. The fries are great! Gluten-free beer and hard cider ON TAP! Service is good. The food does take a while to come out (probably because it's always packed, so they are always busy!). This IS a sports restaurant, so there are TVs EVERYWHERE with every game you'd want to watch. Each table has a speaker box which you can tune to hear a TV. Too bad the TVs aren't numbered, so you really don't know which channel to tune your speaker box to. Also, the restaurant is SO loud, that you really can't hear your speaker well anyways... so we just keep the speaker off, and enjoy the ambiance. I called to make a reservation, and the gentleman took my name and said the table would be ready when I arrived. When I arrived, the lady had no record of my name nor my reservation. If you are sensitive to cigarette smoke, I recommend not sitting near the door, nor in a clear pathway to the door. With how busy this place is, the door is open more often than it's closed; and every time I'm there there's someone smoking a cigarette directly outside the door... which causes me to be grossed out throughout my meal. read more

Okay, so Citronelle and CityZen are more my speed, but Glory Days is an institution to my family. I've been going for 10+ years and I will continue to go for as long as they are open. Glory Days has perfected American, Ball-game style food- fried, finger food that is delicious and well priced. THE CHEESEFRIES ARE MIND-BLOWING! Think about the best cheese fries you've ever had... think of what fries 10X better would taste like.. and you've got GD fries. It's also worth mentioning that Glory Days has some of the best ranch dressing I've ever had( i'm a bit of a ranch connoisseur). Their buffalo wings with mild sauce are incredible, too. Their nachos are great, nicely proportioned and you can get the chili on the side, which we do. The chicken tenders and mozzarella sticks are yummy as well. Appetizers are $5 after 9pm, which is a wonderful treat and increases night business. The Burgers are nicely portioned(big) and always well cooked, juicy. We usually sub the fries for onion rings, which they've perfected. Burgers are $5 on Monday and one burger is enough for my Mother and I to share. They've never had a problem splitting it for us either. The alfredo pasta with shrimp and the chicken pasta with marinara are nice, too. long thin noodles, great sauce, nicely portioned meat/seafood. The grilled chicken sandwich is also worth trying. Great dipped in ranch. Skip the soup. The salad is a little sad, too. It's not their thing. Glory Days service is good. I've been 100s of times at this point and I've never had a horrible server. Sometimes it takes an extra minute to get an extra side of ranch or your glass filled, but really, it's a great place and the service is solid. The atmosphere is nice and playful. TVS everywhere, but we have no problem ignoring them. Even though this is a "sports bar," usually one TV is devoted to cartoons for the kids, which is a nice touch. Really, you haven't lived until you've been here. But once you go, you will be forever changed and quickly become a devout GD fan. It could be worse;o) read more

I really like Glory Days. The bartenders are very friendly and everything I've tried on the menu is great. I prefer to only sit at the bar or one of the few high tables. The booths are connected so anytime some one moves on a joining table you feel it. One time there was a kid 3 tables down kicking the wall or under the seat and we could hear and feel it the whole meal. Other than that I am quite pleased. It can get pretty crowded so be prepared to possibly wait during busy hours. Oh they have specials each day also which are worth a look. read more

I like to go to places a few times before I review it.... my first visit to Glory Days was not a good one. I sat at the bar and John was my bartender, he literally acted and looked like he hated his job. The next few times I've gone, the bartenders were spectacular. Gave awesome service and great recommendations for food and drinks. My favorite dish by far is the Meatloaf it's a seasonal item but oh so good! Late at night I tend to settle for the snack attack menu, the grilled chicken bites are so juicy and tender.. the guacamole is ok... all around I am pleased! This place has terrible customer service... When I walked in to get my carry out order, the hostess said "just go to the bar." The bar was busy so it took about 10 mins to get the bartender's attention. Meanwhile, the host is sitting and chatting it up with her co-worker (could she not grab the food or the bartender's attention??). When I finally got the bartender's attention, he was not very friendly/rude. I'm a local and this bar is great for sports fans who want to see a game but I would not recommend it for most people because it's always loud and usually an unpleasant, cramped atmosphere. read more

Our server wearing the Jason written jersey was more interested in standing in the corner watching football and conversing with his friends. We continue to come back here over and over and over because of the exceptional service and great food. To be fair, every single restaurant has its days where not everything is perfect but we measure things on the basis of consistency. After at least 30 some times of coming here (we have small children so convenience and the ability to get in and out while having good food and great pours is key:). We find GD in Burke to be at the same level as some of the top tier places when it comes to that consistency and quality of food. Suggest you ask your server for what's new and great. They'll tell you and almost always, they're spot on. And IF you have a choice in servers, ask for Connor. The guy pride himself in going above and beyond to make it a great experience for you. A solid 3 star place. The thing to keep in mind here is that it's a sport's bar, and a popular one at that, so during peak dinner/lunch hours, it's always full, always loud, and always has at least 3 games on. Of course, there are TVs with cartoons playing, but honestly, I can't see too many kids eating here, at least not during peak hours. It's just too loud, and too crowded, and kids have nowhere to run/act like monsters when their parents decide to give up. The food here is, once again, solid. I forget which day it is (maybe Tuesday?), but after 7 PM they have half-price appetizers, and on Mondays they have half price burgers. The apps, in my opinion, are typically the most surprising part of the meal. Go for the pretzels with stone ground mustard - they're piping hot and crisp, and the mustard is super grainy. We also enjoy the shrimp in the Chi-Chili sauce - typically, they're crispy and hot, and not terribly overcooked. The burgers are the main attractions here, usually for taste, but more often for novelty. My brothers' friend enjoys the Pigskin burger. One of my brothers usually gets the Glory Burger. My dad enjoys the Pittsburger. My other brother is a huge chicken wing fan, and will order 18 of them in the Glory Sauce. I've had, and pretty much enjoyed, the Bacon and Cheddar Burger, while my mom usually opts for the Swiss/Mushroom/Onion burger. A word to the wise - the burgers are on the larger side. My mom and I usually have at least half to take home with us. My football coach father and football player brothers? Not so much. Of course, if you're not into gobs of meat, I like the Cobb Salad, as well as the Grilled Chicken Salad. They come in half-portions too, which is nice. Crispy fish sandwich is also pretty good. Notice how I said nothing is spectacular. It's really not. It's standard, enjoyable food, and it tastes pretty good. I don't have fireworks going off in my mouth, but whatever. The service here has always been constant. Much like the food, it's not outstanding, but at the end of the evening, you really don't have complaints about it. Standard beer selection. Standard wines (although, I'm confused as to why people order wine here). Standard everything. It's good. It has always been good. We hadn't been to Glory Days in several years but I had a couple of gift cards so we decided to go on a recent Friday night. Husband and I split an order of fried pickles which were really good and generous. I went for a half rack of ribs and fried shrimp with mashed potato side. It came with cole slaw, but I'm not a fan. It was probably good if you like cole slaw. Looked fresh. The ribs were melt-in-your mouth good, the shrimp was delicious, the mashed potatoes creamy, buttery goodness. Husband said his buffalo chicken sandwich and fries were great. Our waitress, Jordan, was super cute, funny, friendly, excellent service. Made some truly good puns (which we're suckers for). We'll definitely be back again soon. Just fyi, it's a sports bar and rather noisy, so if you're not into that it could be a problem. But that noise level also makes it a great place to go if you have noisy kids. read more

First I would like to share that I had posted a really bad review previously and I had the choice tonight to either Edit or Update it. Based on my experience on a follow-up visit this evening, I chose to wipe out the bad review and update with one equally as detailed, but from the "other side of the fence" :) I had two similar experiences at the Glory Days in Vienna and the location in Burke, involving some horribly dry burgers. I assumed after the second experience that there was a culture within the organization of not setting and maintaining high food prep standards so I posted a very negative review against the Burke location and went about my business with the understanding that Glory Days was just not my kind of restaurant. Someone from Glory Days contacted me via the review and indicated that they would like to look into this and see if they could figure out what's going wrong. A manager from the Burke location then contacted me by phone and showed a great deal of interest in my experiences. He was adamant that this is not the kind of experience they are shooting for so we agreed that I would give them another try and he mailed out some gift certificates to cover the expense. I took my girlfriend with me tonight for an "unannounced" visit so that we could get whatever is the normal experience and I am so happy to say that I am completely converted to a Glory Days fan :) I had the BOMB burger and it was cooked perfectly and no evidence of the previous dried out experiences. The fries were hot and crispy and my girlfriend had a great crabcake sandwich with slaw and redskin potatoes that she raved about. Unfortunately I can't recall either of the manager's names that I've spoken with but I believe our server's name was Tori and she was a sweetheart! At the end of the meal I asked to speak with the manager and when he arrived, I explained about our reason for visiting and after keeping him on the hook for a minute about how it worked out, I praised him for the entire experience :) It was flawless from the moment we walked in the door and the food was absolutely amazing. That kind of experience doesn't happen by chance. It demonstrates that I hit some kind of lottery in my previous two experiences and those visits were not at all indicative of how Glory Days values the guest experience. I am really happy to say that Glory Days went from my short list of restaurants to avoid, to my short list of restaurants to seek out.......in one visit :) It wasn't just about my visits but the entire experience of them reaching out to me to prove me wrong..........and they were 1000% right! read more

This was my second time to Glory Days, the food was good again, and the atmosphere is really great. There are like 50 tv's here, and i liked seeing the night's games on the tv's. We had hamburgers and shared buffalo wings, it was a good amount of food, pretty good quality... Just 1 complaint, is that is was really noisy, which is kind of good too becauase it seems this Glory Days is popular, since it was crowded. I will definately be back! read more

It's more of a college type atmosphere, which I love, but has kind of an ecclectic mix to it. There are a bunch of tv's so you can watch any sporting event that is on and there are little speaker boxes at the tables so you can switch between what you are watching. The food is good and almost reminds me of an Outback type setting, but is definitely an American style place. My favorite there was the burger, so feast on that if you get a chance. read more

I've been a hard core fan of Glory days FOREVER! On Mondays they offer half price burgers! Definitely pay the extra money and get a prime beef burger. The Mac & Cheese burger was awesome! During college football season they'll show all the games. One time the manager actually called DirecTV to make sure they were showing my game (Go SOONERS!). Glory Days also provides a mini speaker box to folks who want to listen to the game(s). Hanging out in the suburbs can be tough but with Glory Days there's always an option to let loose and support your team or just grab a delicious meal. read more
