Our first visit was lousy. We waited for almost a hour to get our food. I contacted the corporate office and was given some coupons. We finally went back and actually had a good time. Our last visit we took our daughter and granddaughter and once again it took forever to get our food. I guess they don't know how hard it is to entertain a three year old. Came here the other night it was a Wednesday. Not sure why so many bad reviews. My beer was cold, wings and fries were hot and the bartenders had great customer service. This place wasn't as loud as some of the other glory days I have been to which was a great plus. Looks like most of the reviews are from opening week. I will not be returning to this Glory Days Grill in Warrenton VA, however the other in Gainesville will be my choice and worth the extra mile. .The Warrenton grill does not offer the same specials resulting in a higher cost spent , the service is ok but not that special as well.They couldn't put their own special hamburger together missing ingredients and the fish was like a memory foam shoe insert, I had to ask for my slaw but couldn't eat it as it tasted like the ground it came from .I had been warned by a friend but was in a little hurry , I figured heck it's been a year for them to adjust to their opening maybe they are even offering the nightly specials like the other Glory Day Grills now? We were finally able to get in to this new restaurant in Warrenton on Saturday. It typically had people lining up outside to get in but this time there was no wait. We arrived around 5 pm. The hostess and wait staff were fantastic. They get 5 stars. It went down hill after that. We noticed the restaurant was not filling as time went on and by 6 pm it still was not crowded. We ordered our drinks which came out fairly quickly but when we ordered our food it took 40 minutes to get it. My husband and friend got the fish and chips. The fish was over cooked, dry, and cool. The fries were not hot and my friend literally ate about 10 percent on his plate then stopped. I ordered the Buffalo chicken salad with grilled chicken. It tasted pretty good to me but I do not think it had more than 3 ounces of meat on it. The meat had cooled down and I suspect my salad sat while the other 2 entrees of the table were being prepared. The salad was sort of small and looked more like a half entree size. The problem appears to be the kitchen and I am not likely to ever return there to eat. read more

When my friend and I got there (9:30 pm May 8), there were two people at the bar, and no other customers in view. I suggested we sit at a table because I remember what it was like as a server when I didn't get any tables sat in my section. Also, I figured if we were someone's only customers then we would get prompt service. 15 minutes or so after sitting down, our server came up and was about to take our drink order when she said she needed a pen and she would be right back. 10 minutes later she comes back and takes the whole order (I didn't want to have to wait again to get the food started). Then she came back a while later to tell us that the wings actually don't come in increments of 6 (we ordered 6 one flavor, 6 another, and 12 another). So we re-ordered in new increments, and the food did come reasonably soon after, but she forgot the little plates, and didn't come back to the table for 30-45 minutes each time thereafter. Another friend joined us and had to leave the bones on the table. She didn't notice though, because she was mostly absent. I told my friends how little I like to eat at places in Warrenton these days, as service has plummeted at every chain restaurant (and black bear). Then I noticed servers were coming up to a guy sitting in a booth near the kitchen and he would go to the register, etc. So even with a manager there, we got terrible service. It does no good to complain these days, so I'm leaving this review to others who would actually try this place out, to warn them not to waste their time. My friend informed the waitress of why the little plates exist and it was like... talking to a brick wall. I mean let's be real, there's nothing on that menu that you can't get at every other overpriced chain restaurant around. Better beer selection at Harris teeter. And it's terrible for your gut. Next day I felt sluggish, but vindicated because I warned my friend about going out to eat around here and was proven right. I mean, you can't remember TWO drinks and need 10 minutes to find a pen? This location of GDG replaced a Ruby Tuesday. Seems as though they hired the same staff as Ruby Tuesday. The food was well prepared, but front of house needs work. Ben, the hostess without the mostest, was ineffectual after he said he said was the most senior person in the place. The runners brought plates incomplete. It took 15 minutes to get my water refilled. Etc. I'll drive to the Gainesville location next time. read more

Read the mixed reviews and was not certain we would be happy with this choice but it is the newest place in town. Got there in the middle of happy hour. Seated right away. Got our drinks and some wings pretty quickly. Very good. Then my husband had the mushroom Swiss burger and I had half size Cobb salad. Food was very good. My very fussy husband said it was one of the best he ever had at a sports bar. This is high praise from him. I think they now have their system working. Takes awhile with all new people. My husband and I love glory days and we were so excited to hear of one coming to warrenton! We were sat immediately and the service was amazing (we had Ronald who was in town from Maryland as a trainer). The food was delicious and the atmosphere is great. Went here tonight for dinner. We weren't looking for anything fancy. The place is clean enough but the thing that really irritated us was the temperature in the place. The outside temperature is 75 degrees and the AC was blasting uncomfortably on the patrons. We witnessed at least 3 people go out to their cars to grab sweatshirts. Food was meh. To start, the nachos are microwaved and had a massive ton of toppings which made the experience messy. When we finished, the plate was never cleared. Nor were empty drinking glasses. He ordered 12 wings - 6 mild and 6 glory sauce. Meat was chewy and rubbery. I ordered a chicken salad. It wasn't bad, but the chicken was hard to cut into. The service was okay, but it took a considerable amount of time to receive the nachos - at least 20 minutes. Our server was very polite and pleasant. We wanted to like this place as a cool sports bar in Warrenton, but sadly we won't be coming back. I read the other reviews and I must say it did not deter me from eating here for myself. I was fortunate enough to visit this restaurant while visiting a dear friend in the area. I have been to a different Glory Days in the area once before and I was pleased with the food but I was really looking forward to trying the handbreaded items that this Warrenton store had to offer and they did not disappoint ! The food was very good especially the pork belly from the seasonal menu , the knockout shrimp was delicious, the breading was crispy and not overwhelming. The server Madison was very pleasant and gave us time to look over the yummy selections without rushing me. She checked on us multiple times and brought our food out quickly. The chef came out to make sure we were doing well, I believe his name was Chip. The GM is doing a great job with this place and should be proud of the staff. This Glory Days lives up to the great atmosphere of other Glory days and the TVs and patio area make it exceptional. I will definitely always visit here when in the area. read more

Glory Days Grill - Sports Bars Near Me - Warrenton, Virginia

So, I went here for my birthday and it was, to be honest, a complete mess. I'll start off by making it clear that our waiter, Avery, did great and nothing was his fault. The kitchen and managerial staff on the other hand were quite the opposite. I ordered a salmon salad and my husband ordered the glazed salmon, and my mom ordered the chicken finger platter. Her platter came out super early and my husband's salmon came 30 minutes later than everyone's else's. When my salad came, the salmon was very undercooked so they told me they would replace it, then came back to tell me they ran out of salmon and would give me any other entrée I wanted and that my meal would be free. I ordered the Cobb salad, which took 20 more minutes to come, and to top it off, they charged me for it and even added on the additional cost of a chicken breast, which comes with the Cobb salad anyway. When I mentioned this, a manager came to the table to ask "what the problem was", which to me seemed pretty obvious at this point. He said my meal would not be free, that they just wouldn't charge me for the undercooked salad, and then I had to talk him into taking the additional chicken breast charge off the bill. He was abrupt, rude and completely unsympathetic. Terrible customer service skills for someone in a managerial position. A restaurant, especially a new one, should be all about the customer service and making patrons feel taken care of and wanting to return. My family and I did not feel that way at all. Again, our waiter was fine, just overwhelmed. Very very disappointed with this first experience, and I certainly do not recommend this place as a good location for a birthday dinner for sure. Stopped in on a Thursday at 5:30. We took 2 empty seats at the bar that had food, dirty menus, dishes and a dirty bar top. Before cleaning the area and clearing the previous guests' items, the "Trainer" (not Ronald) threw down 2 coasters and asked us if we'd like a drink. Then he proceeded to try and clean the bar top with his fingers and without a wet towel. The only reason this review is 2 stars is because the glasses were cold and the beer was good. I have going to Glory Days for years , so we figured that the new location in Warrenton be be just as good- WRONG !!! . The wait staff seems to have no idea what they are doing-and the kitchen is obviously inept! when you a order a Cheesesteak WITHOUT MAYO, you would think they are capable of reading the order, so it shows up with mayo. The order is sent back to the kitchen to be redone. Nicole our server is informed of this situation and seems to check on it - it takes so long for the correction to be made that we cancel the order , she informs us it is being boxed for us as a to go ( we did originally ask for that) when the boxed order arrives it is checked to see if it has mayo - the kitchen made it WRONG AGAIN!!! we left it on the table - I am stunned a level of concern was never enacted by anyone- kitchen - server - management . We've been going to Glory Days for years - either the one in Culpeper or Gainesville, so when we saw the sign that Glory Days was coming to Warrenton, we were excited. BUT! We've ordered three times, and three times there was something wrong with the order. I placed this order May 21 with a pickup time of close to 6PM. When I pulled up, there were two vehicles in the 'to go' parking spaces, and since nobody came out to bring our orders the first two times, I walked in this time. I DID ask the three standing behind the counter if they still bring the orders out to the car. They said they did, but I wondered if the people outside in the two spaces were waiting as we did. I don't know. The order was ready, but this time, I checked the order to make sure it was right - nothing I have ever had an issue with at the other locations. I ordered a shrimp combo platter (half fried/half grilled) and there were two skewers of grilled shrimp in the container. The young man immediately took it back, and I prepared to wait a bit for the fried shrimp to be cooked. They brought it out immediately, which surprised me and said I could have the extra skewer of grilled shrimp. When I pulled off, I decided to look at the shrimp again, and the fried ones didn't look like the ones we've gotten in the other locations. I turned around and pulled back into a parking space and took the food back in to make sure the shrimp I had were the large fried shrimp I was used to getting and not shrimp that may be used for salads..? Also, they weren't hot - like, close to cool, which made me wonder where they came from. I asked for the manager and he came out. I asked him if they were the right shrimp and he said they were. I told him that they didn't look like the others we've gotten at the other locations and he said, "Oh, the ones 'they' (the other locations) cook are frozen and we make ours fresh.....but you may 'like' frozen" and shrugged. These shrimp, however, didn't even look like the other shrimp I had gotten at this location. So, when I get home, the fried shrimp were cool but just okay - tasted like they had been sitting, and a couple of the grilled shrimp had an 'off taste' and were not eaten. So, the FIRST time we got the shrimp, the batter wasn't completely cooked. The second time, they were light, and the batter was falling off, like they weren't completely cooked, although they were - just not enough for the batter to stay on, and THIS time, I just realized that I didn't get the coleslaw. I'll continue to like Glory Days, I'm sure, but will choose to go to Gainesville, even for a 'to go' order. read more
