I've been to this salon three times since moving to Texas. While my first visit was good, the following experiences were rushed and lacked customer service. The quality has been inconsistent--several times my nails have been crooked, and my last manicure before Valentine's Day lasted less than two weeks. The builder gel became dull and cracked, which is unusual for me. As my nails usually last 4 weeks at other places. On my most recent visit, I called ahead to confirm my service, but the appointment felt rushed and inconvenient to the staff. I was asked for payment before my nails were even finished and felt pushed out before they were dry. Overall, I didn't feel valued as a customer and won't be returning, but wanted to share my experience for others. read more

I was excited to try Gloss since it is pretty close to my house and it's new. My nail spot is pretty far away and is a little inconvenient to travel to if im not already out that way. Gloss is beautiful and clean inside. The staff was friendly and helpful also. You get a complementary glass of wine, soda, or alcoholic beverage with service whi h. Is also nice. They even have a few snacks which further elevates the experience! They even give discounts to students and teachers. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience there, but just a little over 72 hours after getting my gel applied to my nails it began chipping off multiple nails which I've never experienced before. I went in and they fixed it, but after I left it noticed others chipping which was extremely frustrating. I create content and my nails are constantly on display so I was hoping for work that would last for more than just a few days. . I might give them a try again in the future because I love the customer service and hope the work will last longer. read more

I came in today for the first time to get a manicure and pedicure. The pedicure was lovely, but the manicure was not. The nail technician doing my manicure cut off all my natural nails. I was shocked. My nails were long and healthy except for two nails on my right hand. I told her I was growing those two out. She took my left hand and asked me if I wanted them short and even, and I said make them even. She didn't ask anything else about the shape to file them or clarify anything. She just started very quickly cutting them down to almost nothing even shorter than the two I was growing out on the other hand. So short it is painful. It will take two months to grow them back to where they were. I just don't understand why she didn't take her time and make sure she understood what I wanted before hacking my nails completely off super short. I have never experienced anything like this at a nail salon and my nails look horrible. read more

Great service and they use authentic Apres Gel X products which I appreciate. Have been other places that say they do gel-x only to find they use generic tips which are not shaped the same as Apres. Unfortunately one of mine became loose and fell off (didn't hit it). Not sure why as that never happens. Updated my review to 4 stars instead of 5. Hopefully the rest are good for the normal 4 weeks! **Update 7 days in and another popped off (not broken). I realized after looking at the tip that it wasn't etched before applying. Great salon! I've been going there a year now and love it! Van does my dip nails exactly the way I want every time. I like them on the thinner side and natural looking and she perfects it every time! John does my "Heel My Soul" pedicure. He is a perfectionist as well and very thorough. They work on my hands and feet at the same time so I feel like a movie star and I'm in and out of the salon in just an hour. read more

DO NOT GO to this salon--but if you do find GiGi. My first visit. The owner was SO RUDE and FAILED to take accountability for forgetting what services I needed, then making GiGi do everything herself, && then RUSHED HER. Gigi was disturbed by this owner, and she tried to hurry. My lines were tricky, and I NEEDED more time with her. But GiGi was gone, and she didn't get to finish. I confronted the owner on my way out, she did not give a flying F--Then I TIPPED Gigi 57% of my service (but I made sure it all goes to GiGi). The owner couldn't even say sorry; she just said that she prioritized other clients over me, and that's what she was supposed to do. The other young lady there was respectful. I wish I knew her name. She actually apologized, as she knew what was going on. This place is just ***another horrible salon in this area that cares only about money and the output of its workers. DISGUSTING. I have tried almost all the nail salons in our area. Please look out for my reviews. They are always honest, and I'm the type of person who stays silent, so for me to say something to this owner, you must know it was such a horrible experience. I have been to Gloss Nail & Spa several times now. They have a 30% off special until 11/3 which is much appreciated. Rachel has done my hand nails 2x and while we had a bumpy time the first time, she did a fantastic job the 2nd time after listening to me and then giving me options. John did my pedicure and I have no complaints The customer service here has been fantastic. I love my nails & will definitely be back. read more

If you love yourself, get the Love Yourself pedicure from John. It's their top-tier pedicure, and at $90 it's certainly not cheap -- but John got more knots out out of my shoulders than licensed massage therapists at dedicated massage spas/salons could get in hour-long massage sessions. I may find myself replacing my monthly massages from Squeeze with this pedicure treat. In addition to the great shoulder/neck massage, John was very proactive and helpful. He could tell from the way I was adjusting myself that the neck wrap was slightly too hot, and also double-checked if I wanted to keep the nail color I picked out because it came out very washed-out on my nails vs. on the plastic model nail / inside the bottle (I ended up switching to another color). Although the foot/leg massage was not the BEST I've ever had (for that, you'd have to travel to Nouvelle Nail Bar in Atlanta and get the Zero-Gravity pedicure), it was very relaxing. It also comes with a complimentary heated eye mask, so rather than reading a book or working I was able to take a very lovely cat nap. The services menu states the Love Yourself pedicure takes 75 minutes, but I was treated for over 2 hours. I expected the shoulder/neck massage to last 3-5 minutes, as I've gotten at some other salons, but I think this one lasted at least 20 minutes. You definitely get your money's worth. read more

I was overcharged and humiliated after declining the gel polish upsell and choosing a regular OPI polish. The staff mocked my choice of regular polish with sarcastic comments and chatter that I could partially understand and laughter. Once other patrons began to take notice, I was so embarrassed! Why offer regular polish if it's so negatively regarded? Only offer gel if that is the expectation. I didn't want to draw more attention to myself so I paid and left. Despite leaving a $20 tip I discovered I was nickel and dime-d with over charges after checking their website. As I am new to the little Elm community. I was searching for a new nail salon. I came upon Gloss Nail & Spa five minutes to closing. I entered into a relaxing atmosphere and was greeted very pleasantly from the manager Lynn. Although I I needed minor repair to my pedicure, she was more than willing to assist me herself with great customer service and excellent work. I walked in for the first time today and I was very impressed. They had the cutest Christmas decorations up, they had a whole bar of colors and they were so helpful. Ivy, I think that's what her name is, did an amazing job my my nails. She explained why my nails were lifting so early and she made sure I was happy and comfortable the entire time. I had really high hopes for this place because so many people talk about it and it's near my home. Perhaps if you get acrylics or something else. I went in for a simple manicure and pedicure on my natural nails. The tech used a nail drill to file the top of my nails down without even asking if I was okay with it. That just makes nails thinner and weaker so I'm not sure why that was even done on natural nails. Additionally, the tech used a metal file to file my hand nails. Metal nail files can be too harsh for natural nails and often lead to damage like splitting, peeling, or brittleness. Sure enough within an hour of me leaving, my index finger finger nail teared and part of it ultimately broke off. So while the polishing of my nails was done well, I was not happy with the prep of the nails and the materials they used on my natural nails (drill and metal file). It's just too harsh for natural nails. read more
