I have been going to Glow Med Spa for waxing, facial and massage for the past 6 years. The Northside, Short Pump and Midlothian locations are very relaxing with beautiful decoration, soothing music. The Waxing Station in Cary town is like you entered the candy land. The front desk receptionists are always pleasant and full of smiles offering water or wine while waiting. It is easy to get the appointment and can schedule appointments for a full year. All Master Estheticians that I got the service from are great. I love Shia as her hands are the best for waxing and facials. I would recommend everyone to go to one of the Glow location for service. read more

I have been going to Their West End location for years. I recently moved to North Carolina and tried a couple of places and was very disappointed with two different places in NC for my wax. This spa is amazing! LOVE the decor - they have (fake) trees growing out of the walls as you walk in, in the halls, and in the treatment rooms. Apparently these were built by a person who designs theatre sets. They are gorgeous and make the atmosphere very relaxing. The lobby and entire spa have a very upscale, yet funky cool feel. I had the "Mother's Day Special" package which consisted of a facial and massage (2 hours). Both were excellent - facial by Lisa and massage by Sarah. I became interested in Glow because I am 7 months pregnant and preparing for my babymoon in Miami. I was scared to go in for a Brazilian because that part of the body is especially sensitive during pregnancy. Olga is amazing! I've been going to her for years for laser and recently went for a facial to include chemical peel and microdermabrasion. Never been happier. She is extremely knowledge and recommended quality products that were great for my skin. She was very thoughtful about understanding comfortable price points. Also, she is fun to talk to while I receive services! For laser services, I consider her a gem because of her knowledge of all skin types. I've actually been to Glow a few times and have always left very happy and satisfied. The ambiance is wonderful, staff is great, and...wait a second...I was offered a glass of wine, which I graciously accepted, since I had to wait a little longer since the previous client was feeling ill (at no fault to Glow - a client took meds on an empty stomach which made her nauseous). Waxing isn't exactly a painless and pleasant experience but Lisa made it the best wax experience I've ever had. From the moment I walked in everyone was super nice and attentive and Lisa was just magnificent. She was gentle but very thorough and we talked the entire time which probably helped distract me a ton and not think of the pain. Loved this place. I had Lisa today and she gave me microdermabrasion and a facial - only my second facial ever, but it was thoroughly done and my face felt spectacular after. She is also very knowledgable and it is obvious she enjoys her work. Unlike other spas, she didn't push different brands on me, or criticize the ones I am using at home - she talked to me about which ingredients/chemicals would be best for my skin. I liked that. The ambiance of the place is cool, too, because of the fake trees "growing" out of the walls. The prices can't be beat, either. Definitely recommend this place and I will be back!!!!! read more

I wasn't impressed with the contour body wrap. For all who don't know what that consist of, it is is a full body massage but during the massage a certain part of your body is wrapped to lose inches in that particular area. I feel it is a waste of money b/c it's not on long enough to really have a adverse affect. The massage was great but they need to ditch the wrapping part. read more

Relied heavily on my fellow yelp reviewers when trying to decide on where to go for my first Brazilian. Took the plunge and was able to get an appointment the next day. North side location was easy to find and parking was available right out front. The inside was awesome with soft lighting and candles burning. Super relaxing to prepare me for what was ahead. I arrived 20 min early for my appt with Chelsea but she called me back right away and got to work. She gave me some instructions (put on a paper thong and get comfy) and gave me a few moments. Chelsea was super talkative and chatted with me the entire time. I think this was a deterrent from the pain. The pain is real but nothing more than expected. She did start on outside and worked her way in, in case at any point I wanted to stop. Why go that far not to finish right? She completed the front with a hard wax and then went over a few spots with a soft wax. At that point, everything was numb. Chelsea had me flip over and she a finished everything up. The entire visit took maybe ten minutes. I was pleased with the entire process. Everything appeared clean and Chelsea seemed very knowledgeable. We talked a bit about laser hair removal, but I think I will be back to visit her. A week out and still no hair! read more

I've been to several spas, but this place has the best deals. I go to Sharon for Brazilian waxes and microdermabrasion. My skin looks and feels amazing. She's very thorough with the waxes so I can go a little longer in between and it doesn't hurt! I've been working my way up to laser hair removal and Sharon's been great at addressing all of my questions and concerns. I agree with the reviews below that having to tip separately is a pain because I have to stop by the bank on my way to the appointment and earlier hours would allow me more time to fit in more services. read more

I have been waxing for 6 years, and have never had a better experience before having Anna, she is so knowledgeable and professional. She had so many tips and recommendations for me, I was so happy. I had a wonderful experience here both times I visited, and this will definitely become my go-to regular place for a brazilian. In fact, this place changed my perspective on waxing in general, from an experience I dreaded to one I don't mind. Here's why: 1) The estheticians are great at what they do. The experience is fast, professional, clean, and as pain-free as I've ever experienced. I never knew using hard-wax (no strips) made such a difference until I came here and had someone use it right! And they are enjoyable to talk to, making it all go by faster. I have seen both Angela and Sharon, and highly recommend both. 2) They don't learn on the job--you are not a guinea pig, they are well-trained and experienced! I've been to other spas where the estheticians are clearly not skilled in waxing (aka, they were probably hired for other skills) and it was not a pleasant experience. You won't find that here. 3) The spa itself is a beautiful space. They even offer you wine when you come in! Any esthetician is a good choice. Love! This place was amazing. I'm a stay at home mom with a toddler and I barely leave the house being that we have only one car. You know it's bad when you're excited to go get your eyebrows waxed! While my husband and I are visiting his parents, I decided to go for a massage and a bikini wax. My massage therapist was Patrick and Shia was doing my wax. They were both great! I got a pre-natal massage and was able to totally relax. Patrick got out the tension in my shoulders and made my backache feel better. Shia was fast, thorough, and gentle. This spa recently changed the promoted wax from lavender to something cheap.... I went for a wax and it was horrifying. The growing back process was even worse. I was completely covered with bumps and ingrown hairs. I have sensitive skin but I've never had issues with waxing before. I referred a friend here too because we have heard so many good things about this place and the same thing happened to her. With this being said, I use to go here bc of the staff being so sweet and kind. I just feel like the whole environment is off lately and I really don't think its bc of the employees. Better than I could have hoped! Angela made my first Brazilian wax a great experience. I was a bit nervous at first, but the environment of Glow Med Spa immediately relaxed me and I felt comfortable preparing for the service. After being offered wine or a cold glass of water, Angela made sure I was ready for the procedure and then left me to undress. Upon coming back in, she got started right away walking me through each step and keeping me involved in conversation that quite honestly distracted me from the pain. No waxing is painless, but I expected it to be a lot worse than it actually was. After she had finished, I had a few questions and Angela answered them all both from a professional and personal standpoint. i just had the best massage ever!!!!! it was a two hour massage by tammy sawyer at glow med spa northside. i ached all over when i went there; i have big back , neck, and TMJ issues. tammy used a technique i have not experienced before and i left completely pain free and w/tips on how to stay this way. she is very experienced - i think she is a teacher of massage students- and knows much about all sorts of things. what a wonderful experience!!!! read more
