Been a member for some time now. The estheticians at this location are for the most part all nice (more friendlier than others). I like when they explain what they are doing next and not all of them do this. I've been coming often enough that by the smell of the product, I know what's happening. I agree with some of the reviews that these are basic surface level facials but for the monthly membership fee, it's a great deal still. I like that they get right into it and the 30 minutes are packed with different remedies. I also like that I can pause my membership if I am backed up in going. My biggest gripe is there seems to be large turnover because I never get the same person twice and when I look for a particularly good esthetician when booking, the name is gone. read more

I don't know why it took me so long to hop on the glowbar train but I LOVE it! After four consistent sessions (monthly) I decided to commit to the membership which saves you $10-20 per service. As an adult, I get hormonal acne and my skin is very dry during the winter months. I've been hitting the spa monthly for a pickmeup and I don't regret it. Within 30 minutes you come out feeling like a brand new person and I personally have seen great results with the maintenance of getting my facial done here. Glowbar's offering is great for someone who doesn't have at home services or looking for 30 minutes of quiet downtime as it is relaxing. Ultimately, I am looking for facials that are not just surface oriented - the lack of true extractions is why I will probably not continue at Glowbar for long. Missing the steam and true extraction approach offered by most aestheticians. Most of the options at Glowbar, I can do at home for example - I have a ZIIP microcurrent device, similar vibrating spatula, red light mask and other moisturizing masks. I do love their alginate mask and can buy some online for home use. Ultimately, for the offering, the price is not worth the treatments which I find somewhat superficial. I had a great experience with my esthetician, but similar to other reviewers felt the front desk team was racist and could not wait to get me out of there. It was quite stark to see how the woman ahead of me was treated after her first treatment and then how I was. Really concerning for a place that's supposed to make women feel better about themselves and treat 'all types of skin'. Judging by the other reviews here as well, seems like a trend. Ambiance is satisfying, good music, not too much decor! (Less is more) The staff is friendly and professional. The person who did my facial while she was good but kind of dry, I did have to ask her what was being done while she was doing the facial, I think if someone is visiting the establishment for the first time it should be explained what's happening and what to expect during the facial. So when I first entered the establishment, the receptionists weren't welcoming. They honestly felt a little judgy, and I don't know if they would have acted the same way around white people. But I digress. The actual facial itself wasn't so bad. It was my first ever facial, so I had different expectations. In general, I was underwhelmed. But my esthetician, Gisele, was so sweet and wonderful. She was the best part of this experience. She explained everything she was doing and what each thing did. Afterward, my skin didn't feel as moisturized as I had hoped, but it was very chilly and windy the day I got my facial. It would have been better in warmer weather. Easy to sign up online and get an appointment quickly. I liked the $10 off Yelp promo code. Filled out some paperwork online before going in for my appointment. Location is in a shopping plaza with a parking lot for uncomplicated parking. I was greeted promptly and asked to wash my face before being taken back by Jessica. It was my first time visiting any Glowbar ever. I was initially caught a little off guard by how truly no frills, minimalist the treatment sections were because I've been so used to getting facials at spas. You just hop on the table and they get right down to it. I'm personally glad I dressed cozy and comfortable. Jessica's lovely and easy to chat with. She asked a few questions about my skin, skincare regimen, and skincare concerns. I was feeling dry so we went with a moisturizing approach. She explained every step to me as we went along. For being a minimalist experience, I was surprised that she used an ultrasonic skin spatula, high frequency wand, and LED light. Her extractions weren't painful either. This is the first time I've had any sort of SPF applied after a facial. I'm slightly hardcore about wearing sunscreen so I loved that. She used EltaMD. My skin afterwards looked so good - even better than a hydrofacial I've had that was over quadruple times more expensive. Jessica made some product suggestions afterwards but wasn't pushy about anything. The membership wasn't pushed on me either. You can't book a specific person to do your facial online but they can make a note of your preferences in your chart. I think Glowbar is a great concept for someone looking to add a little more oomph to their skincare regimen without committing to a typical spa price point. I wouldn't suggest Glowbar to someone looking to relax and unwind. It's a great place for someone looking to kickstart their skincare regimen beyond usual at home care. Members pay $60. Nonmembers pay $75. Membership gets you one treatment a month. Additional treatments are $60. You get one guest pass per membership year as well as 15% off of retail. I don't get facials often but when I do I head to the city and I really wanted to try somewhere close. I knew ahead of time this isn't like my usual place but I don't think I realized by how much. For one, you have to wash your own face when you get there. The idea is that the esthetician focuses on your problem area in an efficient small amount of time. The area where the facial takes place just felt so cold, sterile and really basic. The overhead light was just so bright and it was hard to relax. The facial itself was just ok. It felt quick however they did spend a good amount of time on extractions which I appreciated. Overall, I was very underwhelmed and although my face looked like it had a glow, it felt tight and dry. This isn't for me in general. However, I think this is a place if you really want a no frills, straight to the point facial and don't care for the overall ambiance. I would give maybe the city location a try when I'm in between my regular facial place. read more

I found glowbar through an Instagram ad and I'm so glad that I did. The Roslyn location is very clean and sanitary. I will definitely be coming back. They do 30 minute facials using LED lights and extraction tools. My esthetician was Tito (sorry if I misspelled) and she was great because I have darker skin and she works well with dark skin. When you first get there, you check in and advise them or any allergies or medications. After that, you go to their sink and wash your face and it's their cleanser and wait to be taken. I just came back with my first appt with Glowbar and I am so impressed! My esthetician was Tinu and she was excellent- super knowledgeable and friendly. First, I washed my face and the. Tinu assessed my skin and talked about what my top skin needs are. I left with my skin feeling refreshed and hydrated! I can't wait for my subscription to continue. Also, my esthetician was great at recommending different products for my skin and she suggested but didn't push their products on me which I appreciated. They're so racist. I had an appointment today in the afternoon, and I got there 2 minutes late. The lady was so rude and said " I'm sorry, we can only offer you a 15 minute session for the same price because you were late", BY 2 minutes. This was after I called too. I thought that was outrageous. After I said that it doesn't make sense and was about to leave, I heard one of the ladies tell the girl at the desk " why is this black guy here". It was the most racist thing ever. I've never been disrespected like this. I know that this is Glen Cove, but the fact that this lady had the audacity to be this bitter and disgusting ? So my money is not good there because I'm black? How disgusting do you need to be be to be this racist. I will never recommend anyone to come here. read more

I was really underwhelmed by my facial. The esthetician seemed like she was tired and after it was finished all the black heads were still there. I really wanted a cleaning and extraction and most of them were still there. I've had facials before and looked really clean after but this wasn't the case... would not recommend. read more

I went to Glowbar in Roslyn for the first time. They have several locations. My aesthetician, Nicole S was excellent. She was extremely knowledgeable, gave me one of the best dermaplaning and facials I have ever had in a long time. Not only is she good at what she does, she knows a lot about skin. She was so pleasant and nice and I have an overall great experience. I walked out spending over $100 in products. Thank you so much Nicole. My skin looks great thanks to you.
