I came here on a Sunday afternoon with a friend. They check your temperature and you leave your contact information during COVID-19 times. The place was clean and the tables were spread out. We ordered the Gra Prow Gai Dow (stir fried basil chicken with rice) and the Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodle with chicken). The dishes were surprisingly spicy and the ingredients were high quality. It's a bit pricey but the portions were large. I definitely enjoyed the Pad Kee Mao over the Gra Prow Gai Dow but I prefer noodles over rice any day (I may be the only Asian who doesn't eat white rice haha). Service was very very friendly and fast. I would come back and try other dishes. read more

Hidden Under Rated Gem! Food 5/5 Everything from the soup to the apps and the entrees, nothing disappoints. The coconut soup was delicious! Personal favorite was the duck noodles and the tamarind duck. The duck noodles are as authentic as the ones you'll get in Thailand. And they have vegan and vegetarian option! The mock duck was amazing. Tamarind duck was a crispy deep fried half a duck with tamarind sauce and steamed/boiled vege. Yums! I also got the tom yam fried rice extra spicy. I try not to eat carbs but i broke my diet lol! Service Super friendly, very thai. Very attentive and helpful! Ambiance A small restaurant with both indoor and outdoor sitting. Theres a plastic hut sort of structure with heating outside. We were the only table when we were there but it does seems quite claustrophobic. Vegan and vegetarian option available. Food here was outstanding. Without a doubt, this is authentic Thai at its best in NYC. Ambiance here is a little compromised by the cramped seating and tight space. I found it hard to fully relax and enjoy my meal while wedged tightly into a small table only 3 feet from the one next to us. The menu is comprised of mostly traditional Thai dishes. We ordered the Green Curry, the Calamari, and the Crab Fried Rice. We've eaten these a handful of times but we both felt that the dishes here were more complex and authentic. Their calamari is a must try. It looks like they use frozen squid rings, but the squid still retained its juicyness and the dip added a refreshing zing. I dipped and double dipped away. The bar was set high for our main courses, but they did not disappoint! Each bite of the Green Curry boasted rich spices and an aromatic air of coconut milk. The Crab Fried Rice was so hearty and filling, with real chunks of crab meat scattered throughout. The speed at which the food disappeared off our plates is a testament to how delicious it was. Compliments to their chef! I'll definitely be recommending Glur to friends and family. read more

I have to set this right with a five star this time GLUR thai is a must to visit for vegan Thai food. They have upped their game with addition of daring chicken and impossible meat. The rice noodle with daring chicken and basil spicy sauce is heavenly!! You must get it it is addictive. This time I tried green curry it was amazing and strong on flavor of spices with creamy coconut sauce. The impossible meat cooked with basil chili sauce was fully immersed in flavor. The Thai ice tea was so creamy and delicious I love that they use Oatley.I am so happy I have a go to vegan Thai place can't wait to try the banana sticky rice dessert next time. We got so full but couldn't stop eating. Honestly it's one of the best vegan spot with no compromise with authentic flavors!! I hope they never change their recipe or quality. A local favorite: if you're in the neighborhood and wanting delicious Thai, head over to Glur. Expect very friendly service and solid Thai. The restaurant is very small and can seat about 19 people total indoors. There is also limited outdoor seating. Lunch specials are Mon-Friday only. Get the Thai iced tea $6, although priced on the higher end: it is heavenly. read more

tl;dr: This is exactly THE kind of business you want to support in NYC, especially in a pandemic and even more so after as a regular. The food and service will surely spark joy in your 2020. :) I don't simply give out five stars to *any* business, but MY GOSH. I'm still smiling from the amazing service. So let me start there: the service. These people are so warm and friendly you can tell they're smiling right back at you behind their masks. They're kind, friendly, great with substitutions, and check in on you the perfect amount of times. Not to mention, they noticed me scratching (boo you, mosquitoes) and they brought out bug spray so fast it would make Amazon cry tears. This is the difference between good and exceptional customer service. Glur is exceptional. Now on to the food. The pad thai is amazing (yes, it looks like the photo you saw on insta!) and the chicken green curry portion is totally worth the $15. Delicious and good value. Additionally, they boast an incredible gluten-free and vegan menu. While all restaurants are being impacted by COVID-19, I am surely rooting for Glur to make it through so they can continue to bless Chelsea with their establishment. YOU ROCK, GLUR! read more

We thought we'd take a chance on a new (to us) spot for Thai takeout, but I really should have trusted my gut on this one. Signs that we should have skipped: 1) Multiple reviews stated that it was "a good place for vegan Thai food," rather than "a good place for Thai food in general that happens to have plenty of vegan options." 2) One review said that it wasn't up to par with Thai Villa, which is my standard for Thai food. We ordered the green curry with tofu, pad see ew with tofu, and the gai (chicken) satay. Some reviews say that the portions are large, but they are NOT. They are tiny, especially for the price. 1) Green curry with tofu: the most watery curry I have ever had. They claim in the ingredients listed on the menu that it's coconut milk, but it must either be very bad coconut milk or they water it down to save money. There's also not a lot going on in the curry. They list eggplant as one of the four vegetables, but I counted two pieces of eggplant. 2) Pad see ew with tofu: this was decent. Could have used a little more spice and flavor, but not terrible. 3) Gai satay: so bad. No flavor, not juicy, not tender, no depth. Just a chunk of overcooked, tough meat with some sweet peanut sauce to make it palatable. I will not order from here ever again. read more

I feel like this place gets 3.5 stars, but I rounded up, here are my thoughts: A decent Pad Kee Mao. Not as spicy as I had hoped and more oily than I had hoped :/ But! The tofu is really good here, super good if you're into the fried skins of the tofu cubes. This restaurant went absolutely above and beyond to make me and my boyfriend feel welcomed and comfortable. We live in the Chelsea neighborhood and had originally ordered for takeout, but when I got there to get the food it looked too good to eat on my apartment floor, and they accommodated us without hesitation. GLUR has a quaint and tasteful outdoor set up, and bug spray was immediately offered for our comfort. The attention to detail was phenomenal. But above all, the food was delicious!! The vegetable green curry is a must, as well as the Pad See Ew and Phat kaphrao. Thanks to Chad and the rest of the staff for being so wonderful. Good luck to you guys! read more

Came for dinner and dined outside (they are dog friendly). We ordered the kanom jeeb and park mor for appetizers. We were not crazy about either (the kanom jeeb did not have too much flavor) and the park mor was an odd texture. But that is on us for making poor appetizer selections. We had pad kee mao for dinner and it was pretty good, the medium is quite spicy and the hot (4/5 spice level) is bordering on inedible. The service was pretty attentive and quick, decent portion sizes and prices so overall solid, but still looking for a 5 star Thai restaurant in the area. read more

Thai food is one of my most favorite cuisines and this dining experience at Glur Thai has been amazing. The food is full of clean, bright flavor with ingredients that are undeniably fresh and chosen with delicate precision. I love a good coconut chicken soup and this one is definitely at the top of my list. The corn fritters were crunchy and exquisite. The chicken satay moist and grilled to perfection with a Thai peanut sauce I would happily dunk all my food in moving forward. I know it seems so basic to get Pad Thai, but in my opinion, it's like trying a pizza place and ordering a plain slice...that's how you know if it's legit. Well, this Pad Thai with Shrimp is literally on point. Last, but not least, the Pad See Ew should really be called Pad See Yum!! read more

A fancy and modern Thai place in Chelsea. We ordered Tom kha (the best Tom kha I have ever had in NYC!), crab meat fried rice (good amount of crab in it) and Gra Prow Gai Kai Dow. Seriously.. the Thom Ka broth was divine! It was exactly what you would expect and want from a Thai coconut soup. I highly recommend and I will definitely come back soon. It can be little pricy compare to other Thai restaurant in NYC, but yeah.. good/delicious food deserve $$$. read more

Delicious, clean yet tiny Thai restaurant in Chelsea. We had pad see ew, chicken satay and papaya salad. Everything was soooo delicious and authentic (even for someone that has travelled to Thailand multiple times ;)). The servers are also very friendly and attentive throughout our meal. The restaurant is very small, as there are less than 10 tables. However, it is beautifully decorated and is very clean. Chill Girls night out. And GLUR really did the trick. The space is small but nicely decorated. Very cozy. The food was fresh and taste. Best tasting chicken satay I've had to date. This cute little place in Chelsea was a nice surprise. I got here because I saw on social media that the added the impossible beef to their menu, which was already full of vegan options. So we came a group of 6, vegans and non vegans, and although most of us ordered the same dishes we all really enjoyed. We got the pad see ewo and the pineapple fried rice, both with the impossible beef, and both were really good. For a starter we had the papaya salad, which was easy to veganize just by taking the shrimp out (they don't use any fish sauce here). The dishes are not the best looking I've seen but they were certainly tasteful and the service was good. read more

Yummmm! As a vegetarian, I love that GLUR offers vegetarian/vegan options easily in their menu. I'm so grateful I don't have to stress out about too much fish sauce upsetting my stomach or feeling like I've betrayed my morals (oh the guilt...). PAD SEE EW FROM Glur is Amazing! I think one of the most amazing things is that All Sauces Are Vegan, Vegan Wines, No Dairy Products! My first impressions: Chad was great host, was super cool and the service was great, the only thing that threw me off was that its next to the FDNY... which can be loud at times and annoying to some. Also sometimes can get busy with deliveries/orders so while you're eating there, there could be couriers waiting in front while you eat, but for me I dont care, but gotta keep it real with y'all in case you taking your partner on a date or something. The Shrimps and Noodles were amazing, tasteful, flavorful and the shrimps were cooked good, not overcooked! I would def recommend coming here for some great thai food at your average price!! Stopped in out of curiosity for lunch, as the other Thai place in the other direction on W19th is always mobbed. It's small inside, clean and neat. Tables very close. There are less than 20 seats I'm guessing. We ordered two lunch specials. They each come with an appetizer, edamame, spring rolls, or a salad I believe. I went with the veggie Pad Kee Moa, it was noted as two star spicy, and it had some kick. The wok flavored the noodles and vegetables very nicely. I enjoyed the meal, it was very tasty, and the service was nice. So nothing wrong at all with this new Thai spot in the neighborhood. Loved the vegan options too. Easy to not eat meat, but they also have meat too (chicken, duck, shrimp, etc.). read more

Outstanding! Tiny place with limited outdoor seating. Beautifully decorated inside, but most seem to order takeout. The menu has a section of vegan/vegetarian options. Just let your server know too. Most items can be made veggie friendly. The Tom Kha soup was outstanding. Perfect for a cool fall day. It was so comforting with the mix of coconut milk and mushrooms. The tofu satay was a bit bland but the peanut sauce saved it and with the soup, it worked out. Can't wait to try more dishes soon! read more

I was disappointed by this spot, especially after seeing all the positive reviews. I ordered a coconut based soup and drunken noodles, the first of which was pretty solid, but the second of which was really not. There was absolutely no sauce, no flavor at all - I even asked for it to be extra spicy. The impossible meat chunks were also barely cut/split up. For the price of the food, it was not worth it. read more

Came here on the recommendation of a good acquaintance (who happens to own the place with his wife). Was not sure what to expect since I'm admittedly not well-versed in Thai cuisine, but I'll be damned if I wasn't thoroughly impressed with the presentation/deliciousness of literally each dish. I'll post pics of some of the delicious food I had because I mostly do not remember/cannot pronounce their names. But mad props to chef Bat. You da real MVP. We were so exited to try out this new Thai restaurant in the neighborhood hoping it would be our new favorite spot. It's a small place and the decor is very clean and cute. Staff was very friendly and attentive. It was unexpectedly busy on a Wednesday night. A huge draw back, however, was the food. We found it very uneventful and lacked flavor. We ordered 4 dishes on the menu. The glur salad and the fried tofu were the most basic and boring dishes we've ever been served at a restaurant. The salad was priced at $12 and was mostly lettuce. The two other dishes, the red curry and the dumplings, were better, but still very unexciting. We've had a fair share of Thai food in the city and this must be our lowest rated so far. It's sad to say that we wont be coming back to Glur. read more

Randomly searched for "Thai restaurant" on google map and found this ( they're only opened for 2 months). I quickly checked their menu to see if it's authentic or generic ( authentic will have names that you can't pronounce & will have unfamiliar words like Pad Ped Moo Krab) I asked the host if there's anything similar to my all time favorite Northern Thai "Pad Pad Moo Krab" and she suggested : Pad Ped Medman Muang (sauteed pork with vegetables and cashew). New Thai place in the town. What can I say about yet another Thai place in Chelsea. But Glur Thai restaurant is really something. This tiny but bold restaurant offer various classic Thai items you might expect from any Thai places down the street but with much bolder and stronger statement. The ambience of the place is the love child of traditional Thai decor and contemporary minimalistic of New York bare brick wall. Two circular mirrors help add more space to the tiny dining room. The food is flavorful and the portion is just right. All the item serves on traditional Thai plates and other container you might find while you are taking a trip to floating market just outside Bangkok. Do try the "pad kra praw" or basil sauteed the amount of spice and sauce is just right. The grill pork is marinaded and grilled to the perfection The service is flawless. Staffs and the owner are very knowledgeable and will guide you through your meal with recommendation of each items and always attentive like they can read your mind. Made the walk to Glur Thai based off reviews. Many people mentioned the size of this place, and they weren't kidding, it's very small (though the pop-up outdoor seating is always an option). They clearly do a very good to-go business, there were many bags waiting to be picked up when we got there. The three of us were sat very quickly, which was surprising since I think there were maybe 5 tables and 2-3 seats at the "bar". It probably helps to go on a weekday after 7:30. But yes, the tables are crammed together with plastic partitions in between. Remember to have vaccination status ready to show. We ordered the Kanom Jeeb, Pad Kee Mao chicken (medium spice) and Pad Se Ew beef (medium spice). The combo of chicken and shrimp in the appetizer might seem strange but it was quite good! They were also large sizes so were easy to share. The Pad Kee Mao is easily one of the best I've ever had. It's the dish I order any time I go to a new Thai restaurant, to compare. It was so good, noodles weren't glommed together and veggies were fresh. The spice level was just bordering on too hot, but it was worth it. Unfortunately, my husband's request to get the Pad Se Ew in medium spice didn't seem to get done, he said his was good but not at all spicy. All of the food came to our table very quickly too, with friendly service. Even though I know there are many places to try Thai food in Manhattan, I would definitely return to Glur! read more

This food was 100/10. Literally so good! I found Glur on a food blog instagram page and had to check it out based on the pictures. The space itself is quite small and good for small groups. We ordered the pad kee mao with chicken and beef and it was amazing. Pretty spicy though so avoid this dish if you can't handle your spice! I will be going back for sure! read more

Best Thai food we've had in a while! The noodles were so flavorful and fresh! Limited vegan options but they can make any dish vegan if you request it. They don't use fish sauce. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The slightly charred flavor of Pad See Ew was delicious. I am used to Massaman in the traditional preparation where it's more like a beef stew made with chunks of beef and needs to cook overnight. When done right it is the most aromatic curry ever -- it's almost like an aphrodisiac! -- and the beef comes out oh so tender. Usually if places have this curry but then offer a choice of protein, then it generally is not cooked properly, and that is actually how they prepare it at SaiTong. I had it with chicken (they serve breast as default), and the chicken soaked up the curry really nicely. I also asked for there to be no onions, which I think alters the flavor of a curry too much. After running a couple of errands while waiting for the table to be ready, we were seated outside at the patio after an hour and 45 minutes. We ordered the famous honey butter pancakes, the korean wings, and the breakfast sandwich with hash brown, scrambled eggs, and sausage. The honey butter pancakes were pretty good but kinda drenched in the butter that made it hard to finish. The korean wings were also alright but the batter to me was kinda thick and heavy and lacked crispiness. The best item we ordered was the breakfast sandwich with hashbrown, scrambled eggs, and sausage. I think the eggs are cooked with cheese, and as someone who typically does not eat cheese, I didn't mind it. I don't know if I'll be back again - I think the concept of an asian twist on the classic diner does sound intriguing but difficult to execute. I also wasn't a big fan of the wait time. If you typically like heavier, diner food then this spot might be the place for you!

Smaller than I thought. Now I know why there is always such a long wait.

The mapo tofu, green beans, twice cooked pork, and spicy (lazi) chicken were very flavorful. I thought the mala levels were just right, but it may be on a bit on the lighter side compared to authentic. The lamb spine came in a delicious broth, but it was a bit hard eating the lamb from the bone for not a lot of meat. The house steamed fish was also amazing. They don't take online reservations for groups over 5, so we called to make one for our group of 6. It was pretty busy Friday night, so would recommend. The service was great; they drew the cutest card when they found out it was my brother's birthday and let us bring a cake. And they also offered hair ties to the people with long hair. You order through an iPad which has a beautiful menu.

They seem to be known for their hand-pulled noodles and spicy flavors. I did see chefs making noodles when I went. We ordered: -Cleaved cucumbers (5/10- these were good but average) -Fried sticky eggplant (8/10- these were fried but you could still taste the flavors and was a good size) -Very spicy pork dan dan (8/10- delicious but more reliant on the sichaun spice over flavors; not too spicy if you are used to it but can pack a punch if you aren't a spicy food eater; the noodles were great). It's one of the larger stalls in the market and has some seating, but not enough, and the market seating is very limited as well. I ordered the hibiscus lemonade and the very spicy Dan Dan Mian. I loved watching the staff prepare the noodles while waiting. My bowl was huge and absolutely delicious. It was very spicy as promised, but not too spicy that it was rendered not enjoyable. I looked at other orders and everything looked delicious, leading to only semi-regret of my choice. My lemonade was very good. I'm very much looking forward to returning.
