Out bathtub roman faucet shower head broke a few months back. The faucet was replaced under warranty but all the plumbers wanted an arm and leg to replace just the top. The technician started the bill time as soon as he rang the doorbell. They charge 145 a hour which I was fine with. What I wasn't fine with this job took almost five hours! My wife who was home stated the plumber was taking his time as in making sure it would take longer. The plumber left for around 30 minutes which I also paid for. Buyer beware get the hourly plus what they think the job will take. Ended up costing me $750 for a job that the plumber was taking his time with just so they could make more money. Will not use this Plumbing company again. The next day looked at job since plumber took so long and he did such a bad job that they had to come back out a 2nd time. First plumber damaged tile and didn't seal faucet correctly. Elliot the supervisor was very nice and left a second tile guy to fix the problems the first guy messed up. Checked his work and he couldn't get to behind the faucet to seal properly. Elliot had to have a third team to come in. Wasted a few afternoons rescheduling and payed them a lot of money for a simple job. read more

Spent a week with these guys under my house and on my lawn digging up my old drain lines and replacing them. Tim and crew came out initially and did their best to fix a backed up kitchen sink and washing machine drain in the garage. We hired them for a $3,000 repair and paid in full the day of the repair. Happy with the work. Months later, out of nowhere, they filed a mechanic's lien against us for $2,000 because someone else who lives in our building didn't pay a bill for totally separate work, presumably to make us pressure our neighbors into paying their bill. Called them and they confirmed we didn't owe anything, but the lien is still against us. No intent to lien was even sent to us. GM quoted this at $3400, and the job would take all day to complete. To be nice about things, I guess referall's don't always work out. Fortunately during this tough time that were all up against, I found another local company to complete the work for $380.00 This included 3 hrs labor plus 2 feet of copper pipe. They charged us a few thousand shy of $10,000 to unclog 2 toilets. However, one of the toilets overflowed again 2 days later, and they did not honor a warranty, saying it was a different issue because they had to step out to do more work outside, for the same toilet. Make it make sense. They gave us estimates under $2k for work to be done, and then suddenly we received invoices amounting to $7k. Very sly business ethic, based on results, and that's why they are now blacklisted at my company as a vendor. Too many of our properties share the same experience, if not worse. One property was charged $30k for something LA Hydojet quoted for $12k. Be smart about your money. This is not one of those instances where "you get what you pay for" is applicable. read more

Had these folks over for an emergency sewer main cleanout at the house on a Saturday. They were here within an hour, which was great! Also were not as aggressive on weekend pricing as others have been. Clean, respectful, and professional, so I was happy about that. The last thing you want during a Covid pandemic is a huge plumbing problem resulting in the necessity of a complete home repiping. But our 96 year old pipes needed replacing right now, and thankfully we hired GM Plumbing Corp. We requested that everyone wear masks and they were very respectful of this request. (We also kept all doors and windows open for circulation.) GM Plumbing did a great job. They worked from the minute they arrived around 8:15 until they left at 5:15, taking only a lunch break. The job was huge, including three bathrooms, kitchen, laundry room, and two water heaters. Every one of the eight evenings when they left, the house was put back into order so we could use the living areas, kitchen and at least one bathroom. They cleaned up the work areas every night. We really appreciate that they fixed several small things that were not in the estimate and were not even requested. They just wanted to make things right. The technician did a good job; wish he would of put on shoe covers. The pricing could be better as the final cost felt overpriced. For example they quoted us double the price for a faucet that was half the price at Home Depot; so we ended up just driving to Home Depot and buying the faucet ourselves. We had a pipe break in our bathroom behind the wall, this caused a lot of problems, not the least of which was the need to have some 1970s mickey mouse'd cast iron piping replaced. We'd initially gotten a quote from Mr. Rooter. $3200. Next, we got a quote from Fitzgerald Plumbing: $1400. We decided to go with this business. All that being said, I wanted to post my experience with Will Worthey. He'd came the next day after Fitzgerald plumbing came with the estimate. Quite honestly, it was a matter of timing - Will came in under the quote, and was very trustworthy, and detailed in the work that he would have performed. So, I didn't want to have to write this review, because I really really wanted to like this outfit. Let me keep it as short as possible, but I fear that's not possible as I have to refute some misrepresentations and lies. 1. The initial consultation was great. GM was responsive and had well written proposals for the bathroom remodel of a tub demo and pre-fab tub/wall install. I was told they would build out the wooden carriage and ensure everything was done professionally. 2. They were patient with my indecisiveness and answered my many questions. I even considered a tile install after seeing great photos online. That's when my doubts crept in when I found out the tile person wasn't available....I'll explain why shortly. We agreed on a 2 day install upfront Monday-Tuesday. 3. Day of the install the lead contractor was late, 30 minutes, no big deal, but in hind sight, it proved very telling. The subcontractor seemed nice and went right to work. The contractor was only on site twice during the day. That's okay, I suppose, but provided he should be there at the conclusion. My doubts crept in when I asked the subcontractor if he did tile work. "Yes, I can do tile work". Do you do it for this firm? "Yes". So I wondered why he didn't have this guy do it? Sadly I found out later. 4. Day 1 of the install, the contractor tells me, I think we can finish in one day. Okay, great. Of course, who wouldn't be happy right? Later at 6:30p I overheard the contractor on the phone with the subcontractor - "Are you still there? You've left already haven't you"? At this point the subcontractor is scrambling to finish and leave by 7pm (started just after 8am working straight through). So the 2 day job became a "hurried" 1 day job. I can only guess the worker could not longer be committed to 2 days. The subcontractor told me in the morning he would put up tarp so we could shower that night. Obviously, plans changed and my job got "rushed" 5. The subcontractor left, I paid, and then we started to look more closely. There was spackle or sealant on the carpet (fine we were changing our carpet that week on Friday - not the next day). There was the same white sticky stuff on our front door, down the hall way and down each stair of our condo unit for 3 levels. Okay, not clean. Then, looking at the shower, the sealant job looked terrible. It's not something we noticed right away because it's all white on white. When I started to clean the shower I noticed it was sticky all over. The whole point of a pre-fab fiberglass shower was an easy to clean tub! It wasn't easy to clean. My wife and went into cleanup mode, with her doing the hardest work, and 3 hours later we were able to relax after 10pm. My wife was pissed.and when my wife is pissed, uh yeah, I'm not happy either. 6. They also replaced the toilet flush with a new kit. The second day it wouldn't stop running water so my wife called the contractor. He said he could come out, but never said "I"m sorry". When I talked to the other contractor partner, he did apologize to his credit. I told him I had fixed it so there was no need to come out. I informed him, and later by voicemail informed the lead contractor "my wife was pissed off at the sloppy job. and the toilet was the final straw". 7. My wife gives her review with a 1 star. The contractor texts me after 10pm on a Friday night complaining about the review. I had no idea as my wife wrote it. Of course I support my wife and I told the contractor I was okay with the initial job, etc, but the sloppy finish left us with a bad impression. Lasting impressions matter. 8. Now the Contractor responds to my wife's review and says I was happy with the job. Now, tell me, who does this? Who in their right mind tries to pit a husband and wife against each other? That makes for terrible customer service, fortunately for us, we are a united front. Oh, and now he invents an excuse that I was having carpet installed the next day. That's 100% B.S. I said I was having it on Friday, not Tuesday which I had already blocked out on my calendar (and by invite). The toilet started flushing twice tonight. I'll call my usual plumber (see my review). It's too bad that instead of lying, there wasn't an offer to clean up the mess. I broke my cardinal rule on this gig. When someone tells me "I'm honest" I'm usually suspicious and don't trust them. Don't tell me, prove it to me. Never again, I'll steer clear of anyone who has to tell me they are honest instead of proving it to me. I wish them no ill will, but this is my opinion based on the facts. I was going to let it go, but once you lie our put false words in my mouth, I'm going to call you on it everytime. Didn't have any hot water, so I called around to get my 10 year old water heater checked. A lot of places wanted a few days until they could come out, and wanted to suggest buying a whole new unit. Found these guys on Yelp, so I called the number and didn't get an answer. So instead of leaving a message, I started calling again. Someone from GM plumbing called me back right away, and happened to be in the area. I explained my situation and he offered to come by and take a quick look. The guy from GM plumbing came over within 10 minutes, inspected and replaced a thermocouple, and I had hot water within a 20 minutes. He said they're not always this easy, so lucked out; but I still was impressed by the quick turn around time. Awesome work! read more

If I could give a half star this is what I would do. They did such a sloppy job in our bathroom. Too many spackle on the wall and our front door (which doesn't make any sense at all, I guess the workers are very careless) and I have to clean it. The shower and the tub aren't clean very well. Too many glue and dirt and it's hard to get rid off. The owner never bothered checking their work when they were done. He only showed up 2 times and left the workers alone. He didn't called us to check if everything is okay. They change the toilet flange stopper but they didn't do it right. The water keeps flowing and running. I called the owner to tell him about this problem, he didn't even say sorry or apologize for the inconvenience. Luckily my husband fix it and that we never have to deal with this people again. Ugh! What a pain in the butt to hire such a lousy contractor. Will never hire this people again. "You didn't call him at all" wow! That is very professional isn't it? My husband has nothing to do with my review, why you keep harassing him with your text until the following day. You had your chance to make it right. We're done. We paid you, so keep it and move on. For less than $2500 with 11 hours work ( correction not 13 hours) that doesn't mean you have to do such a sloppy job. You gave us such a good deal at least that's what we thought. On first visit, my water heater's pilot wouldn't light and I didn't get a chance to call until late at night. 24 hour plumbing services are hard to come by as I have learned, but Graham maintenance came and fixed the problem with professionalism and without price gouging. We have, as of today, used GM Plumbing Corp. twice. The first time, my parent's kitchen sink had a leaky faucet, so they bought a new faucet, and needed it installed. My Mom doesn't remember the name of the plumber who helped, so we're going to call him "Mr. Awesome Plumber" for this story, well Mr. Awesome Plumber came to the rescue, he successfully installed the new faucet, and because the layout of the sink had to be adjusted to accommodate the new faucet, he made the necessary arrangement so all the pieces fit properly. And Mr. Awesome Plumber even cleaned the old glue or bonding from the previous faucet, and he made sure to clean his own work space and gather the packaging trash. Now today, Will (thank goodness I'm writing this now because I would forget his name and make up another plumber superhero) came through. This morning my parent's upstair's bathroom toilet handle broke, and Will came earlier then the quoted expected time, which is always my favorite, he fixed the problem quickly, and he cleaned his work space, wiped down the toilet where he made the handle changes, and gathered all the packaging trash. We had a variety of issues that needed addressing, most caused by sediment in the building water lines that got into our unit and clogged up quite a few things. In addition, we need a new faucet installed and our water heater adjusted. The two plumbers from GM Plumbing, Elliot and John, were excellent. They addressed every issue we had efficiently and to our full satisfaction. The most important thing, however, was that after the appointment was scheduled a few days beforehand, they called to confirm the appointment and showed up when they said they would, which was not the case with other plumbers we have dealt with in the past. I was referred to GM plumbing from my current management company who has been in business for 30 years. I own several buildings and GM Plumbing has done an outstanding job! They are Professional, Honest and Reliable. GM Plumbing has replaced water heaters in three of my buildings, replaced toilets, unclogged sinks, water valves etc. Most recently Philip Graham (the owner) did a re-pipe and unclogged the main sewer line at one of my properties and is currently working on adding a new laundry room to one of my buildings. I know that when I call Philip Graham its one less thing I am going to have to worry about. He gets the job done right the first time unlike other plumbers who gauge you and tell you the units need something when they really don't. I have personally dealt with Philip Graham and he always returns my calls immediately and arrives when he says he is going to. Located the outside access drain (hidden away and unknown to us!), were able to clear the drain without tearing up the bathroom, and were courteous and informative at all times. Not only did they take care of the immediate problem, they gave us a couple options for the future AND did a thorough clean-up of all the nasty spillage that had occurred! Called Harrys Plumbing which I have used for years and they sent out GM Plumbing as a referral. Long story short for the fix which may or may not have been part of the original problem was being charged what their employee stated was $100.00 standard charge for each of two shut off valves under sink (hot and cold). This is a $10.00 to $15.00 part and minimum amount of time to replace. Negotiated priced down to total of $233.00 (3 % credit card fee included) from $295.00 which I felt was still excessive for this since original problem was water leaking under refrigerator. Employee stated valves were frozen and needed replacing which was not an issue before since shut off outside still works. Would not recommend them as their prices seem excessive. Avoid using referrals from your original plumbers as you never will know what to expect. read more
