This salon has the best operators in Westchester County. The customers drive from Long Island, fly up from Florida and train up from New York City. The colorist Gennaro and his partner wife Cindy are outstanding. Bette Midler's colorist said "if this fellow were in Manhattan he would be making thousands of dollars a day!" It doesn't stop there. The Staff from the receptionist Dina and Miss Ethiopia will change the entire schedule to get you in! Once you are in each hairdresser is different and superb. Donna, Jo Jo, Tanya Joanne and last but not least the co owner Cindy are collectively the most dedicated and gifted. There is an established esthetician that is constantly busy. Forgive me Father for I have sinned, it's been WAY too long since my last review. (I'm going to Hell, I know)... Ok, so since my last review if Gmazza and my girl, Tanya, I've been there numerous times - and never have I left disappointed. We took a little break during the pandemic - which is understandable - but as soon as they were seeing customers again, I immediately booked with Tanya. It took a couple of weeks to get an appointment (because I would only wait for Tanya), but as soon as I was in that chair - it was magical! And like many of you, the Covid hair-do was hideous LOL! Speaking of Covid, Gmazza is super clean, they take all precautions, and out of an abundance of caution, Tanya wears her mask... (which covers that gorgeous face, but I get it. Very happy with my haircut in the end... I was really disappointed with a haircut I got here, I went back for a second visit (for a touch up) and the stylist spent over an hour doing everything she could to make it better and it just wasn't working. I felt even worse about the cut. The staff could tell I was unhappy and immediately did everything they could to do better. I was directed to the chair of another stylist, Tony, who talked me through what she thought would work, what her approach would be and made sure I was comfortable with everything she recommended. I felt a million times better. She totally fixed my cut and I would highly recommend her 10/10! Sometimes you don't have the best fit with a particular stylist, and that's NEVER the customer's fault, the staff here understood that and they were extremely accommodating. I had never been to this salon before, but I had a great experience. I was just looking for a basic haircut, but the stylist still spent a lot of time with me and made my hair look great. The salon was very clean and was taking a lot of pandemic precautions. Also, I don't know who the stylist was next to me, but this woman had the patience of a saint; her customer wanted hair that was both dark and light, balayaged but also not balayaged, and she wanted it cut but also the same length it currently was...I was very impressed by the stylist's patience. read more

I have been going to Tina at Gmazza for years and she always did a good job on my color. However, this last time I went it was awful. I left with orange roots and ashy brown on the bottom (I get blonde highlights!) I texted her asking if she could fix it to what I normally get and she told me to come back in, which was the biggest mistake. Not only was everyone rude to me when I went to get it fixed, but I left with mustard yellow hair (looked like I could have done it from a box). There were also orange stripes in my roots. I made it clear that I was unhappy with how it came out and was told that my only option was to get another glaze, which would make it ashy brown. She made no effort to offer suggestions and I have not been offered a refund. I had to go to a different salon to receive color correction and they did a decent job, but I have been told that it is going to be a long process to get my hair back to what it was. My mother, friend and myself will no longer be going back to Gmazza. I have attached a picture- which doesn't even show how bad it really was. UPDATE: I have called several times to request a refund and each time they take down my number and say the owner will call me back, but he never does. It has been over a week since I first called. Not only did they ruin my hair, but the customer service is terrible! read more

A friend referred me to Jojo for cut and color about a year ago. I am always happy when I walk out of the salon. She listens to what I want and doesn't take liberties with the length of my hair. (It's long and I prefer to keep it that way.) I often get compliments on the style and color. Jojo also has a great energy; she's warm and energetic and it's always a pleasure to be in her company. The first time I came in, I saw a stylist named Jojo. She gave me a short bob and retouched my baby bangs. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly face at the front desk. The salon smelled of great products and it was beautiful inside. I could see why the salon was pricey, it's definitely worth it with the amount of work they put into a clients experience. With the robe, the variety of drinks to choose from, the hair wash and lastly the service. Jojo was very funky- and I mean that in a good way. She has such a cool personality. She made me feel at ease and I could tell she really loved doing hair. I had a great experience with her. I brought my mom into the salon because she's looking for a stylist and on her first visit she saw Donna (sorry if I'm misspelling it). Donna did a GREAT job on my mom's hair. We decided to come back to get a haircut from Donna. So we're pretty happy with the service here. I came to this salon because my hair stylist works there now his name is Jose. For Jose I would go anywhere because I trust him. When I came I to the salon it was very neat and spacious. As soon as I worked in I was offered something to drink. I went to get my hair dyed and while I waited I got a manicure. Tanya, i don't know what happened. This is the worst haircut I have weed gotten. I asked for a trim and layers so my full thick hair wouldn't look like a Christmas trees... I felt like my hair got aimlessly hacked off and I really wanted to cry when I left. I never spend time and money going to nice salons because I the idea of pampering myself does not exist... Just got home from G Mazza Salon and absolutely loved it. I had a very dull haircut before I went in and was looking for a new cut that could add a little bounce to my hair. I saw Cindy and she was great - She did an amazing job. She listened to everything I said and gave me exactly what I wanted. I also got 50% off for being a new customer which is an amazing deal. I had expressed how nervous I was about getting my hair colored, showed pictures and everything of the natural looking, subtle blonde highlights I wanted and clearly she didn't understand. Well her and Keratin treatments... Tanya is amazing to say the least. Always up on the newest trends, so much so I don't tell her what I want, she suggests what I should do and has always been on point with changes in style for me. I discovered GMazza salon by following my long-time stylist/colorist, Joann Montalbano from another salon where she spent over 20 years, delivering quality service to clients. It is my strong belief that Joann can do anything that the client asks for when it comes to hair; including color, cut and styling as well as up-do's and special treatments like Keratin. I am a "blonde" courtesy of Joann. She has done many versions of blonde for me over the years, and all have turned out exactly the way that I wanted and according to the pictures that I've asked Joann to replicate. She can turn "dark hair" to "blonde hair" expertly. My mom and I have been seeing Joann for many years. Mom loves Joann's work also! Joann's haircuts and blow-outs are to "dye" for! Right now, I am sporting a short, sassy, style once sported by Sharon Stone, and also the same color in the photo was recreated by Joann. I recommend Joann highly and without reservation. The front desk personal are just wonderful and welcoming as is everyone else. Kara is great and made me feel comfortable on my first day at GMazza. Cindy and Gennaro, the salon owners, are also great stylists and make you feel right at home. I have seen other folks walking out of the salon with wonderful haircuts and blow outs created by Cindy and other stylists. I have also seen beautiful up-do's and glam styles created by the staff for clients attending weddings, proms and special events. I recently attended the grand opening of the salon and must say that the GMazza staff are all welcoming people and the ambiance is relaxing, yet upbeat.
