I recently visited Rehoboth Beach with some fellow Anglophile friends, so of course we immediately noticed Go Fish because of its bright and colorful British decor outside. We made a point to walk there for lunch on our last day in town. Service was friendly and fast, and the inside decor was cute. We got the chicken wing appetizer platter and really enjoyed it. Four people in our party got the fish and chips, and one other person and I got the beer-battered chicken and chips, and everyone was really happy with their meal. My husband, who loved the "mushy peas" side dish during our trip to London last year, asked to substitute the mushy peas for the cole slaw with his fish and chips, and he was extremely happy with the taste. Our friends regularly get fish and chips at other restaurants, and they were really happy with the meals at Go Fish. And it's a good thing we got there at 11:30 a.m. when they opened, because the small restaurant was filled to capacity when we left. I'm sure we'll eat here again if we come back to Rehoboth Beach. read more

Ok. We've been to Britain. Fish and Chips seemed to be better there for sure! I had them three times.

Typical fish and chips, but very good. I recommend it if you like fried foods. Some of the best fish and chips I've had in a while.

Three of us went in September and we all cleaned our plates. Fish & chips, trout with some kind of potato crust, and shepherd's pie. ALL GOOD! The menu looked very British to me, but I'd have to defer to an authentic Brit to confirm that. We will definitely go back. read more

Deep Fried Cheesecake, deep fried bangers, deep fried fish.. you get my drift but dang...this place rocks. It's cozy and is going for a pubby British feel which it doesn't do to bad with. The toffee pudding is stupid good. This is always a stop when we go to Rehoboth. Go off season and you will have no problem getting in. On season is a different story. Price points are easy on your budget for a beach place. Walk an extra oh 8 miles so you don't feel guilty eating that cheesecake, but get it. It comes with a raspberry coulis and whipped cream. Was really looking forward to this place. The calamari we ordered was rubbery...hardly any flavor, unless you dunked it in the sauce. We ordered the fish and chips. Nothing exciting...in fact the appearance was much better then the product. As we were sitting there a cook walked through with a jar of Patack's curry sauce. I buy that at the supermarket. We had already ordered the over $3 side of curry sauce because it was recommended and highly raved about on here. It was nothing special. A rip off. We also got the pickled onions. They were barely pickled. Hard as rocks and whole. The whole part was ok...but the pickling mix did not penetrate. Overall...overpriced and underwhelming. Wish we had ate at one of the other fun places on the street. We won't be back. read more

Really good fish and chips, liked it a lot. They offered both tartar sauce and malt vinegar as your condiments. Nice. Also Newcastle brown ale on tap, but they have Boddingtons pub ale also bottled. Fish was fried nicely , not too greasy, batter was thin and crispy, fish was light and flaky, not heavy at all. Chips (fries ) were good too. Had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert, was very delicious. Only complaint was the heat, it was pretty warm in the place as observed in other reviews. It was about 75 outside when we ate but it was a lot warmer in the restaurant. Will definitely go back on my next trip to Rehoboth. read more

They switched to using Pollack....which is Not as good as Cod:-( And yes I understand the "sustainability" reason for doing so, but don't name a sandwich the "Codfather" if you're NOT going to use Cod???? Go Fish is a British restaurant located right off the beach on the main strip in Rehoboth. It is decorated dubiously like a London tube station, but is run by an actual Brit. There is a menu of sandwiches, burgers and standard pub grub, but they are famous for their Fish & Chip so that is what we ordered. They offer a Caesar salad as a substitute, but we stuck with chips (ordinary, not very crispy French Fries.) The fish is one large filet, fried a perfect golden brown, and my wife found it very good. I actually ordered the Chicken & Chips, which were good, the frying left the chicken very tender and moist. There were many drinks offered on the menu, but we stuck with soda. This is a perfectly fine place to go, whether it fits in with a tourist town or not. read more

My husband and I love this place! For many years we were reluctant to try the food here, but this year we finally decided to try it and are in love! We definitely have plans to return here in the future. The fish and chips are great!! My boyfriend and I stopped here while we were in Rehoboth Beach. It's kinda like an English pub and I don't think I'd ever go here if I were walking past it. But luckily my phone has an Urbanspoon app and it told us to go. It's relatively cheap and I was just thankful that it was open during the off-season. You could tell it's a place locals go when it's not overrun by tourists. We had the mussels, crab balls, and calamari. We thought everything was great. The bread served with the mussels was tasty. The calamari had a nice chili flavor to them and the dipping sauce was smokey and tasted great on the crab balls too. My boyfriend thought the calamari was a little chewy but I like it like that. There's no complaints about the service. The only thing that bothered me was that all the other diners were old people and it was as if the record stopped when we walked in and they stared at us the whole time. Who knows what that was about... Anyways it wouldn't stop me from going back. read more

Great find this side of the pond! I have to admit I've become a bit of a fish 'n chips snob since several visits to the UK and always have to try them out whenever I see them on a menu, completely expecting to be disappointed. Go fish! is one of the very few places stateside that didn't disappoint. The fish was an ample portion and perfectly fried, with a crispy coating having the perfect amount of crunch and no grease. The chips were respectable and tasty, especially with lots of malt vinegar! I rounded out my meal with mushy peas and sticky toffee pudding for a total "UK" experience. Those didn't disappoint either. I will definitely be back to sample more of the menu! read more

Great fish! Even my very picky youngest loved her kiddie fish. The fish was flaky, tender and moist and the batter had a great taste. The fries/chips were a little soggy for my taste but luckily we got one order with the Cesar salad, which had a delightful light and flavorful dressing. Happy to say it was nothing like the usual chain seafood restaurant heavy fake creamy Cesar. We saved room to share the warm sticky toffee pudding. Heavenly! Great little place! Cute decorations inside and very good food. My preschooler/picky eater almost finished every bite of his kids meal fish and chips and my 16 month old loves the warm crab dip appetizer! They are open during the off season which I appreciate. We needed a warm meal and a break from playing in the sunshine and cold wind out on the beach and boardwalk. This was perfect. The adults had fried oysters and fish and chips - all were delicious. I do not recommend this place. The food was too greasy. There was no one in there and it still took them a little bit before they even brought over water. I ordered the fish and chips and I have definitely had better, I could probably make better. Don't go to this place. I think the owner was sitting in there and not once did he come over to check to see how our meal was going. That just seems like common courtesy. Out of all the places in that small area, we chose you. At least come over to say hi. The dessert was pretty good. I had the brownies and my hubby had their signature dessert. The girl at the front door was hard of hearing and British. But the waitress was from the USA and got everything worked out . Went to Go Fish! This past early May weekend with my little kids. I had (what else?) fish and chips with the tandoori mushy peas. The kids had chicken fingers and the grilled cheese quesadilla. It was good stuff all around. It didn't seem overpriced or to die for (as some reviewers make it out to be) to me. It was good, basic food, exactly what I expected. Solid bar food, which is what I guess fish and chips are. Fast service, clean restrooms and strong air conditioning, which is important on a beach. The spicy sauce on the clam strips was not spicy... And that came from our uncle who is not a fan of hot foods. Onion rings were passable, but not special in spite of the 'stout beer drizzle'. We decided to go here for a brunch and we ordered the classic fish & chips. The fish was delicious and fried to perfection but the chips were fairly bland and a bit soggy. The meal was good but the deep fried food was extremely heavy. We still feel sick a few hours later. On a side note the bathrooms smelled absolutely horrible and were pretty dirty even thought we came in a half hour after opening. Will not go again. read more

First off expect the fried fish to be full of cooking oil. Ordered the fish and chips which is their big seller. Got what seemed to be a nice piece of fried fish but once I patted it down (went through 2 napkins) the size reduced to about a half inch including the breading. All their fish for the fish and chips is frozen from Alaska (from our server) and all in all the flavor was pretty good. The chips (fries) were also pretty good and not oil loaded like the fish, guess they let them drip a bit longer. Since the flavor was not used oil flavored can only assume they used a fresh batch of cooking oil. I gave it 3 stars as the fish was not fresh, the super oily fish and thin piece of fish. I also gave it 3 stars as the flavor was a redeeming quality. read more

When we travel to Ocean City each summer from Massachusetts it is a tradition to visit Rehoboth Beach for a dinner at Go Fish! This is one dinner our family all agree is delicious. We all love the chicken and chips. The chicken is crispy, juicy and just the right amount of batter with rich flavor. The honey mustard on the side is the perfect addition and the chips come with just the right amount of salt with the option of malt vinegar for dipping right at the table. The service is great! Stopped here for lunch with my two sons. The older of the two has become an anglophile, so he was pressing me to take him for fish and chips. I am glad we stopped. The fish and chips were excellent. I ordered the kids quesadilla meal for my toddler. I assumed that he would like it. I was surprised to learn that he preferred my fish. He ate as much fish as I did. My husband has been trying to get me to try this place for 5 years. Me being a creature of habit protested but finally gave it. I had the fish and chips. The fish was cooked very well, my only compliant was it was a little greasy. My husband made fun of me for ordering a coors light, but sorry I don't like dark beer. He enjoyed the British beer in tap though. Over all service Was a little slow but the good was good. Would come again. They have a take out window as well. read more

We got carry out so take this review with a grain of salt - but it wasn't very good. Bland sides, lackluster Shepherds Pie (there might have been a total of 1 oz of carrot in the whole thing) and it was pretty mushy and texturally unsatisfying. Won't try it again after that experience. read more
