One of the best Indian quality food around Boston area. Their sambar can use less sweetening and more sambar masala but their dosa's and chicken is really good. I love their food. I've been here twice for the lunch buffet. Being a vegetarian, I always find it challenging to find good food. Godavari has a good selection of food, don't get me wrong, but I have an issue with the taste. It's not up to the mark. The last time I went, I complained about the palak paneer having too much salt, but they were courteous enough to take the dish back inside and make alterations. I don't find any dish here that I fall in love with. On the other hand, my husband and his friends love the non-veg dishes, especially the chicken dishes. read more

I would rather give this place 0 stars. We had a catering order for a house party last weekend and the food deliywas STALE. The large tray of panner biryani was spoilt and had a funky smell and people who ate it had an upset stomach. Also, chapatis we had ordered was 1$ each and was as hard as a biscuit. And it was frozen chapatis that was probably microwaved and delivered. Terrible food. Never ever will we order from here. Also, we had requested for plates and spoons that were also not given. After manhattan/ NJ 'burbs, I had been craving for fragrant, regional Indian menus. Someone up there heard my prayers and sent Godavari. It's unapologetically South Indian: Fish curry, mutton/ chicken pulau, various types of fluffy crepe-like snacks and dosas...all are extremely well done. The un-initiated should beware: this ain't some place to get your mild creamy chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, and mango lassi to wash everything down. This is spicy, it's got plenty of lovely spices, the rice is rich and nutty! Note the chai is done properly, not the bland skim-milk chai "juice" you get at other places. read more

This review is for service only. Horrible wait staff, they have no patience and the wait to get a table is barely organized. They had a few tables empty but no one was seated there, we where left waiting for 10-15 mins staring at empty tables. Had heard great reviews about this place. My experience though was far from what I had heard. The server had no clue about what was expected in Idli vada combo. Meduvada were too hard. When we complained the server said " I do not know - the people in the kitchen make it" at-least he took it back and replaced it with idli. He messed up rest of our order big time. Cancelled the order for one vegetable and roti on his own. We kept waiting for the food to arrive. But none of these things made me upset as much as their attitude- the server never apologized neither did the manager - in fact he said oh this server is new. My evening was fun because I had great company and I have to say the Sabji and roti were delicious. read more

I am very disappointed with this place today!! In the past, this place has never disappointed. So I don't know if the management changed or what but this place sucked today. I ordered spring dosa, it came pretty much empty and flappy (not crispy) at all. After I told the server it wasn't good, he said he'll be right back. 10 minutes later- nobody came back until we called them again. They made another one in place of it and this time it was def crispy but still empty. We ordered hot sauce...for good 15 mins- nobody came to give that to us. Until we ordered it from another server and then we got it. Ordered onions and chilis on the side- we NEVER got it!!! Whatever has changed, this place is not what it used to be. This is a classic case of how businesses lose customers. They were really good at first as you saw in my first review. But, the service / quality of food all went downhill very quickly and before you know it, my wife and I have decided to NEVER go here to eat. I would NEVER recommend this to anyone. We tested this several times. They take ages to serve you if you dine in as they prioritize the customers who are picking up (How hard is that to fix? Why don't they do it? Because they are greedy. The customers who are already inside are not going to leave anyway. And if they don't give a short time interval for the customers who are picking up, then they'll lose those customers. Simple right? But, ethical? ABSOLUTELY NO). They take us for a bunch of idiots? And when they do after an eternity, bring your food, they bring the entree first before the appetizers. WTF? Who the hell does that? Does that even make any sense? But, yes. Anyway, if you've read up to this point, kudos for being patient and understanding my frustration. What I meant by food quality was - it tastes really good. But, the next day, you'll spend an eternity in the toilet. So, if you are desperate to shell out money for that kind of food, go right ahead. read more

The best Indian food I have ever had out of India. This place is amazing. One of my friends took me here after telling me a million times that it's amazing. The Chicken Manchurian is an amazing appetizer with the Kababs. We ordered Chole Bhatture, Paneer Dosa, Chicken Biryani, Butter chicken, Garlic naan and Roti. There was not even one dish that I was a bit let down by, each of them attained perfection in terms of Indian food and spiciness. I would totally recommend this place if you are an Indian food lover. Their dishes are really authentic and extremely good (I am from South India, so I believe I am a good judge), and I am yet to taste a really bad dish from here! The staff are really friendly and the service is fine (I would not say great, but I am happy to overlook that for the food). 1:15 PM on a Thursday and I was looking for a quick lunch. I pulled into this shopping center intending to go to B. Good, but Goldavari caught my eye instead. I quickly looked it up on Yelp and based on the numerous reviews, I decided to give it a chance. I knew it was a little on the late side for a buffet, but as there were quite a number of people in the dining room still I had high hopes. The number and variety of dishes was promising - some I have never seen before so I was excited to try them - but nearly everything except one dish was cold and/or empty (just sauce). I only saw one dish refreshed during the 20 mins or so I was there. The naan was stale, hard and dried out as it must have been sitting out since the buffet had been set up and never refreshed. Chutney and other condiments were MIA. On the plus side what I did try was tasty albeit cold (butter chicken, tadka daal, fried gobhi, rice). The only "hot" food I had was a fried chicken meatball, I can't recall the name of the dish. That was pretty tasty too. But overall, I found the buffet mediocre at best. With the plethora of other restaurants nearby it is unlikely I will be back but if so I will be sure to order off the menu vs. buffet again. Kudos to the staff, they were attentive and friendly and the only reason I gave this review 3 instead of 2 stars. read more

I ordered catering for my daughter's bday and the food was amazing. All guests were satisfied with the taste and quality of the food. It was fresh and delicious. Got very positive feedback from them (not the formal feedback given out of courtesy but most of them are my close friends, so it was honest feedback). Totally worthy. Things were handled professionally from providing quote to delivery. They customized few dishes to suit our requirement and spice levels. They had to deliver food to our venue, 35 miles from the restaurant. Food delivery got delayed by 15-20 mins than the agreed time due to vehicle breakdown but Jaswanth ensured that the delivery was not too late for lunch time. We were informed about the delay and as a good gesture, he was courteous to waive off delivery charges (which we returned later as we knew it was not their fault). I have been visiting the restaurant since last two years. Its surprising that the quality and standards keep going low and low as time flies. Last friday 6 of us visited the restaurant for dinner. Firstly the food took more than one hour to arrive. Secondly i order the same dish every time I visit godavari and thus it becomes very easy for me to compare the quality over time. The dish i had was so poorly made. Thirdly veg dosa that my friend ordered had foul smell to it. May be its the oil or something else, we dont know. We didnt complain as it was closing time and we just let it go. But overall the taste and the quality has decreased to such a drastic level over time. read more

We have been here twice thus far and some of the dishes are excellent, while some are just OK. The Shanghai Chili Paneer and the Gobi Manchurian are among the excellent. We were pretty disappointed with the Chicken Tikka Masala - usually a signature dish at most Indian restaurants. It was too creamy and a little bland, some of the spices were just off and it didn't really taste like chicken tikka masala. Also there was probably only 4 pieces of chicken in the dish, most of it was just a bowl of gravy that was too creamy. They have a lot of kinks to work out in terms of service. The wait staff and other crew don't seem to have defined roles, so everyone is kind of running around every where and doing a little bit of everything. read more

This is fine. We ordered the palak paneer and it was unfortunately under seasoned, the tiki masala chicken was delicious and so was the dosa which I had never tried before. I give it only 3.5 stars because when we ordered I ordered a dessert and got this strange bean soup. Our order took about 45 min to arrive, which wasn't bad at all. I would recommend if all you want is a solid amount of Indian food. And something that is generally authentic. read more

Went for lunch last week...the food was different from Northern Indian that I'm used to and it was good...I would have given this place a second chance based on the food.
