Two days prior to writing this review, a YouTube channel by the name of "Company Man" posted his video essay called "The Rise and Fall (...and rise again) of Golden Corral." Which prompted two things in my brain: 1.) I haven't been to a Golden Corral in years (not since living in Texas, at least); and 2.) I should look to see where the closest one is to me. Lo and behold, turns out...my original assumptions of the nearest one most likely being somewhere in northern Mass were incorrect. There is, in fact, a newly renovated GC right in our midst - in good ol' Manch Vegas! And man, have they upgraded! It would seem there is a great deal of truth in that video essay by Company Man. Because it appears over the years, the management at GC have been hard at work upgrading the ever popular buffet restaurant. Not only are both the dining area and buffet room completely contemporary by 2025 standards; the payment system is updated as well. See, in the past, I usually had to endure the "joy" of making sure to have small bills on my person so that I could aptly tip the servers. But now...GC did something I *never* expected. In addition to facilitating contactless payment options, they allow you to charge an additional dollar amount of your choosing for the specific purpose of getting cash back to tip your server. This concept is awesome on so many levels that I can't believe more places that charge dining up front don't do this. I've often pointed out in past reviews that if cash tip only restaurants made it easier for customers to tip servers (be it via credit card or cash back), we'd be more willing and able to do it. So, why aren't more places doing it this way? Don't know! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Now, as you can see from the photos, the dining room and buffet area have been drastically updated. Or at least....since I last visited one years back. The aura is generally brighter as a whole and the tables don't seem as crammed together as before (I suspect, in part, due to the Covid years). Another thing I noticed almost immediately is how the buffet size seems slightly scaled down, whilst still offering a generously vast selection. But again, I'm comparing this to the one I used to visit frequently back in Texas so....take this with a grain of salt (no pun intended). And for those who were wondering, yes - the breakfast still slaps! I didn't notice an omelet station anywhere. Though, I honestly didn't look for one either. It's possible I could have missed it. Oh, GC evidently did away with their traditional trays, too. Just as well, considering they served no purpose in the first place. You still get your drinks immediately upon entry. But I mean, you could always just double fist it if you desire multiple beverages. Since I'm not a huge buffet person these days due to an aging metabolism, I can't say I'd come back here *too* often. But they still are the #1 place I'd visit as far as buffets are concerned. Still holding the top spot in their respective dining category, I'm giving Golden Corral in Manchester 5 generous plates of bacon and eggs out of 5. read more

Golden Corral has reopened for business on Thursday April 10, 2025. When they closed back in September 2024, all of the equipment and furnishings remained in the space, which was a promising sign. There was a change in management at this location. There was a very long line outside of Golden Corral before the grand reopening and ribbon cutting and live DJ outside. The first 100 guests to purchase an adult buffet would receive free buffets for a year, one adult buffet per month, per household, a booklet with 12 free adult buffet certificates, tracked. The layout of the restaurant with the buffet stations and seating areas are still the same. The front area has changed a bit with the drink station crammed near the front entrance, get your drinks first, then pay. This model works at larger Golden Corral with a larger front queuing area, but it is very crowded with the self serve drink station near the front at this location. They also have a dedicated check out line for takeout orders to right. A couple months ago, I was surprised to see the Golden Corral in Manchester was reopening and thrilled that I would not have to trek to Queensbury NY or Springfield MA for Golden Corral. I stopped by Golden Corral in Manchester for the weekday lunch buffet, which was $12.99 plus tax for the adult buffet, got ice water. The buffet has salad stations, hot foods stations, dessert stations, soft serve ice cream machine, Icee machine, but I did not see the chocolate fountain (yet?). I limited myself to three plates and desserts. I enjoyed Spaghetti Pie, Pork Tamales, Fried Chicken, Cheeseburger Slider, Fried Okra, Onion Rings, Meatloaf, Pot Roast, Chicken & Dumplins, Baked Whitefish, Fried Whitefish, Fried Shrimp, Mac & Cheese, Rice Pilaf, Baked Beans, Collard Greens, Zucchini, Green Beans, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, Seasoned Potatoes, Corn On The Cob, Macaroni Salad, Potato Salad, Seafood Salad, Cole Slaw, Green Salad, Hot Roll, Cornbread, Clam Chowder, Choc Chip Cookie, Cheesecake, Banana Pudding, Bread Pudding, Mini Churros, Peach Cobbler, and Chocolate/Vanilla Soft Serve. While the food is not fancy and this place gets a bad rap on social media sites, the food actually tasted pretty good on this relaunch visit and the multiple staff was on top of clearing my table. We took 4 family members visiting from Rochester here for their very first time. It was a slow Wednesday dinner crowd. And we ate like kings! Everything we tried was delicious, especially the steak, chicken and salsa of all sorts! Service was from phenomenal "Lily"! Always there making sure we have everything we need. She really makes you feel welcomed and happy you came. You can tell she loves her job as she does it well. My family loved the decor and how clean the place was. It's a nice family atmosphere. You got to give this place a try! It's awesome! And it's a great value for the dollar. read more

At arriving I was greeted well about how picking my cup works he was very nice and straight forward . The only good thing about this place would be the food . Everything was good from the bbq chicken, mashed potatoes and the brownie and chocolate cheese cake . When asking about the steak when it would be available the women who was on the grill was a bit rude saying we don't have it until 4 . Our server and management was the main problem . The servers were fighting over whose sections where theirs . It was a mess we witnessed the manager cursing out our server. After all of that happened a new server came in to help us with our drinks and she got my girlfriend's drink wrong . Decided to try the newly re-opened restaurant. Looking at the reviews I am happy some customers enjoyed it. I traveled 45min all for the ribs which were to be served at 4pm. Arrived at 4:15 and the person doing the cooking didn't know when they would start. That should have been a clue.. Spoke to manager and after some apologizes He had them cooking. While waiting I asked the waitress were the straws were and she could not understand a word I said and got a waitress that looked like she was about to leave. Got my ribs, but I must say they were the worst ribs I ever had, They were fatty, stringy and will never be going back again. My wife and I paid $43 for meals that sucked.. read more

Golden Coral I really am not a fan of buffets. People reaching over the food. So many people touching the serving utensils, you have no idea who washed their hands. You are eating at your own risk. Ok off my soap box. Hubby and I were in Manchester for a his graduation. Yay hubby. A group of graduates wanted to meet up to put faces to name from their chat on line. Atmosphere - The restaurant was clean with music playing in the background. The planner called ahead and reserved a room that held 65 people. So many graduates showed up for one another. Service - the guys at the front were nice and engaging. Food - plenty of variety. Fresh and hot. I have no complaints food was good. Hubby got a steak but only got a piece of the steak. Not sure why he only gave home a piece but I saw others with a whole. lol Drinks are extra on top of the buffet price of $17.99. I don't know pricing on buffet I believe it was a good price. Good food and great service. My waitress was the the bomb. She went out of her way to make sure that we were happy. She even got me a credit on half of my meal. Which at a buffet is unheard of. Because I couldn't eat. The only thing that I really did not like was I looked everywhere to find out how much the drinks were when you walk in the door and there's no price. You don't find out until after you've poured your drink and got to the cash. Register, they really should just have something up that says how much you're paying per drink. read more

Me and my family are huge fans of Golden Corral and we went to the location of Manchester for the very first time on April 13. The ambiance was inviting, and the cleanliness of the establishment was notable. However, the overall experience was marred by delays in food service and the unprofessional conduct of a staff member. While few of the team displayed courtesy and professionalism, there was one individual, presumably a young girl, who exhibited concerning behavior. This staff member appeared unkempt, with improper attire, disheveled hair, and engaged in disruptive behavior, including heated arguments and gossip with colleagues. The atmosphere was tense the minute we sat down, causing discomfort for both my family and other patrons who later on witnessed the childish behavior. I'm not sure if this young girl was potentially as a manager's daughter but she was heartbreaking disrespectful to most of the other staff who only took it all in. The negative impact of this employee's ghetto behavior overshadowed an otherwise pleasant dining experience, leaving doubts about the prospect of a return visit. read more

We have had the buffet several times and truly enjoyed it! We had to bring our car for service and we took the courtesy ride to the buffet. We were totally disappointed. We had seen commercials about the wings and ribs, both were dry and chewy. Hated them! They usually have pot roast thats tasty and tender but wasnt on the buffet. One of the buffets tables were all mexican foods, tacos, rice, etc. the grilled steak was decent but you only get a small portion of a large one, disappointing. I dont eat seafood, highly allergic. So that area was blah for me. So i stuck with the steak, went up several times, the mashed and gravy and sliced carrots. I guess it has to change up the choices, but the mexican foods werent being eaten, poor choice and cheap food. To pay for the dinner meal and get .79 of taco filling and rice is very inexpensive. Dessert wasnt great either. Usually get pie with ice cream but it wasnt ice cream more like a wendys frosty another cheap item. Funny we have been very happy with the food in the past but this wasnt good. We have recommended it to our friends and they were disappointed and we didnt know why, but i see the quality and choices were not good. The waitress was working alone, so dirty plates stacked high, had to wait for our drinks which felt like forever. All and all we will try it again, but if it sucks we wont be going back. read more

This is one of the better Golden Corrals. It's small but the choices are plenty big. As usual, I get my favorites. Awesome pot roast, fried chicken, bourbon st. chicken. Tacos (way better than Taco Bell), mashed potatoes & baked ones that are softened in the foil wrapper, corn, cookie, ice cream....I never leave hungry! Last week I went in and had hoped to have the buffalo wings that are advertised 20 times a day on my TV...but none were to be had. So, I filled out the online survey to express my disappointment. To my surprise, I got a call from the manager and he explained the truck with the wings and ribs was stuck in Maryland so they didn't have any. The best part is he invited me back to the restaurant and made it up to me. I went last night and had 3 differnt kinds of wings. I actually liked the honey BBQ the best! The buffalo wings weren't bad. They had a crisp to them which was good, but not much heat. Fortunately, they have Texas Pete hot sauce to add! I also put it onthe tacos. Ambience is typical. For a buffet this place definitely deserves 4 stars. We came during lunch and were the first ones in the door. You pay for your food and beverages and if you pay with a card they ask if you would like cash back to tip your server. I had been to the Golden corral in Springfield, Massachusetts, and this one is much better although I believe it may be smaller. The server was very friendly and everything was clean. Because of covid you are asked to wear gloves, but you are able to get your own food. The food is actually quite good. They have a salad bar, entrees, and desserts. I didn't care for the meatloaf but I thought the pot roast was very good, they have lots of veggies and a few soups. The rolls ate really yummy and I really enjoyed the carrots. The slice of chocolate cake I tried was actually very flavorful and rich. This place is good if you like bland or salty food. You'll notice a lot of old people here. But if you like flavorful and tasty food this is not the place. I managed to finish most of the burger because I was hungry. To be fair the shrimp popcorn was not too bad. Some of the spinach was old and brown. The nachos with cheese looked good but wasn't in the mood for snacking food. In my opinion the food is not worth the money or the drive. Maybe buffets aren't meant to have really good food. As my diabetes has been taking its toll on my life I have 0% regret eating from Golden Corral, the Burban chicken made my lower bits convulse as I stuffed my face with catchup meat loaf and steak. Coming secondarily to a strip club I can say I've never used my money in a better way in my life( third would be charity). If I die tomorrow swimming with my toaster I will die a happy scatter boy. Walking into a buffet in general is an emotional experience on its own but Golden Corral is the type of place you want to take back home to your parent and settle down with and leave everything else behind. Came for lupper (yup lunch/supper) and wasn't overly impressed. When you first walk in you have to order your drink and pay for everything before you even sit down. The front desk people were kinda rude about it and ask you to tip before you've even gotten the service, wierd. There doesn't seem to be an obvious layout to the food, it's all over the place and meat and sides everywhere. I had tacos, Mac and cheese, meatloaf and potatoes lol. Super random. The salad is simple iceberg. Dessert is just okay too, mostly cupcakes and pudding/jello. Meh. I was highly disappointed by not only the selection but the quality and taste as well. What we had gotten looked pretty good, but flavor was way off. Everything seemed like it had been sitting for a while. Sweet potato casserole and the sweet potato pie both had way too much seasoning to the point it was bitter. I always like Golden Corral but the closest is in Springfield, MA. This is the first one in Boston/New Hampshire area and it opened not long ago in Manchester so I decided to give it a try! We got there around 1:45 on a rainy Saturday, there was a short line outside and inside because of limited seats (COVID-19). The wait was not bad and we were seated within 15mins. Service was good and they blocked off every other table, it's a buffet but they serve food to you in each food station so you won't touch anything. Salads were individually wrap and the dressing were in a separate disposable containers. Food was excellent and fresh and plenty of choices, you can go back as many times as you wish and even though is busy, you don't feel crowded because they spaced the tables out nicely. You paid for the meal and drink before entering the dining room, I do wish there is a easier way to tip the wait staff since a lot of us don't carry cash. A nice couple gave us a warm goodbye, I assume they are the owners / managers? We will be back soon. read more

I saw the potential for a great experience, but the place is obviously understaffed. The people who were working seemed nice and hard working enough, but they didn't have enough time to clean tables, refill drinks, keep the floor clean, etc. The tables and floor were pretty dirty and many of the popular food options were always out. I wanted to like it, and I wanted to want to come back, but until management staffs up properly and fixes some of the logistical issues, this place is going to continue getting 1 star reviews. read more

Although they have staff serving you the items you want (like the ole days of school lunches), its really hard to not bump into anybody. There aren't many food stations in Manchester compared to the Springfield location. Staff also wears masks, and it looks like they change it throughout their shifts as well. Desserts, salads and fruits can be grabbed yourself (or at least, that was what everyone was doing). If you want cotton candy or ice cream, you have to ask staff. So excited that Golden Corral expanded closer to me! read more

Friday November 11, 2022. Heard about complimentary meal for Veteran Day in a Veteran's email from Military.com. Traveled one hour with family of four to Manchester, NH., to try Golden Corral first time. Upon arrival we were told Veteran's Day offer was not today on Veteran's Day but Monday. Why?? Crazy! Very disappointed! Observed several other Veterans coming in who left after being told and talked to a few in the restaurant who like us decided to stay. All were greatly disappointed. Restaurant is shiny and new. Staff were friendly. Steak at the grill was tough with a lot of grizzle. Ham at the grill was depleted. Chicken tenders were hard as a rock cold and over fried. Some of the food was cold and had been sitting a while, others like the meatloaf were fresh and constantly being brought out and replenished. I found several things I was happy with but I would give them a C+ to a B- while my family was less enthusiastic. My two Grandkids didn't find much that they liked my wife was very unhappy with the steak and threw it away but found the fried fish to be very good. Basically hit and miss on a lot of things. We won't be going back on Monday to get the veterans deal or to travel an hour again for I consider was a mediocre experience. Great holiday commercial though. read more
