BBQ

Came here on a Saturday night. First, highly recommend a reservation. Without it, you may be waiting for an open seat and from the looks of it. Probably 20-30min wait. It's worth it though. It's a buffet style with attentive wait staff making sure you have all you need. The food is good and fresh. We tried everything on the regular buffet. We did not do the premium or the additional hot pot. (It's not Michelin Star food for clarity) The ambiance of the place is dated and could use an update but why do it when the place is packed and people are full and happy. Would return for my one time a year buffet expedition.

We came on a Sunday to try their all you can eat bbq. It was $40 for the premium meats and $17 for a bottle of soju. All of their regular meats were in a fridge for self service and they had the sides in a self serve buffet bar. They bring you the premium meats when you order from the servers or phone. It was nice being able to get more sides and meat when we wanted it instead of waiting for them to bring it. Since the servers don't have to cook or bring you everything, they are more available to fill up water and change out grills frequently. This was a huge plus since that is usually the part that takes the longest at kbbq restaurants. They also have hotpot that's self serve as well. Highly recommend if you're in the area.

The last few times we visited Sura KBBQ, the price for AYCE was $30/pp, which included all meats options, even short rib. Guess they changed the menu prices again four months ago, roughly around the last time we went. We came here for dinner last night and they still have a $30/pp option but if you want short rib or beef tongue, it is an additional $10, $40/pp. NOTE: the steamed egg says it's part of the $30 AYCE option BUT it is $1/each. We had ordered 5 of them, so it was $5. I guess all other side dishes are still completely included just this one is extra charge currently (7/2/25). Kalbi/short ribs are non-negotiable for me and have to have it whenever I go to KBBQ, therefore, we ended up going with the "premium BBQ menu". Luckily, there is no limit on how many plates you can order for the short rib. For all other meats that are included in the $30/pp menu, you can just grab them yourself from the fridges. Here's some things that I always order/get whenever I visit: -Korean beef short rib -LA beef short rib -spicy pork belly -beef bulgogi -spicy tofu stew -steamed egg -japchae -seaweed salad So, for the short ribs, tofu stew, steamed egg, drinks, and other hot dishes, you order via QR code assigned to each table. They also have a sauce bar area near the fridges, where you can make your own sauces, lettuce for lettuce wraps, daikon, kimchi, japchae, tteokbokki, etc. MA, in general, lacks AYCE KBBQ spots and Sura KBBQ is decent enough, compared to other newer spots that have opened up recently. Service is hit or miss honestly & for example, if you finish a plate of meat, none of the workers will stop to take away the plate + will just continue to walk past, until you're completely done eating lololol.

*FEB 2025 UPDATE * Not sure if it's new ownership again but Sura has completely changed. In my opinion, I'm actually all for it lol Sura is now a self service AYCE. They have a few hot bars. A station where you can make your own sauces. A station where you can get your own sides. And yes, this is including getting your own meats besides a few where you have to order via QR CODE. Once seated, you're asked to scan the QR CODE that is on the table. From there, you can order on your phone. This is very convenient. You don't have to wait for your server. You can also ping them to come to you if you need assistance via the QR code. You now have two options . You can either do $30 or $40. The different is, their short ribs. For $10 more, you can get their shorts and beef brisket. I think that's kind of ridiculous because their short ribs aren't the best. My party step opted for the $40 but moving forward, we're actually ok with just the $30. $30 for AYCE KBBQ? You cannot go wrong with that. Overall, I don't mind this new system. I was a little skeptical but now I'm a believer lol will definitely continue coming back. And oh, COLD NOODLES IS INCLUDED. Not the best but it's still good for AYCE.

This is one of my favorite buffets in Boston. It's very reasonably priced, has a wide variety of food, and the service is excellent! I highly recommend you try it! You'll love it.

Really appreciate my friend taking me to Sura BBQ, but honestly, the food didn't hit the mark. Meats didn't taste super fresh, and service was on the slow side. There are better KBBQ spots out there.

Haven't been here in years. It is still AYCE but they changed part of the menu items to self serve and the others you can order yourself via scanning their QR code. There are 2 tiers now. Regular is $30 and for $10 more, you get kalbi, LA short ribs and beef tongue. They have a condiments section, salad & banchan station, cooked foods, raw meats and seafood are in the fridge. Food quality overall went down especially the cooked food section (dumplings, egg rolls, fried rice,). The meats were all very chewy. For seafood they only have shrimp and baby octopus. For the raw food in the fridge, they have disposable gloves, which was great. But the fridge doors doesnt stay open on its own, so you're using your other arm or leg to try to hold it open. So my clothes could've touched some raw food or tongs that could've touched the fridge glass door. There were 3 servers and were all very attentive. Food ordered via the phone came out quickly. Spacious and still a lot of seatings inside despite changing part of the restaurant to self serve.

This has sort of become a go-to spot for AYCE KBBQ at a somewhat decent price compared to others in Boston. Now there's always new spots popping up, but service here in general is usually good for the most part. Walk thru the front and join the waitlist via tablet. Don't park in front of shop as it's a bus stop. Plenty of parking out back and meters to side streets. Parking across street available too. Looks like they recently re upholstered their seats and cushions on some of the booths that had rips / saggy cushion or damage. They can accommodate large parties as well and kid friendly. We've tried many of the meats and different tier packages. We normally go for the 2nd tier about $43 per person if i remember correctly. Yelp check-in free drink (non-alcoholic) coupon is NOT really known by management or seemingly wanted to be honored. We each had one (party of 2) but after about 20 minutes waiting for a response and 2 servers later, they honored 1 redemption and charged for the other. NBD really but they mentioned they cancelled yelp so YMMV. The best beef for me is the short rib and/ LA short rib bone in usually. The LA style is typically in the past a large bone, rolled up meat. Now we got the little rib bones, not sure what changed but noticed one table did get the old style next to us. So i would probably next time there only get short ribs personally with some tofu soup and egg soup. I like the spicy pork bulgogi, the spicy pork belly is typically good too but takes along time to cook thru and fills you up quick. (These proteins cake up the grill top fast with the spicy marinade). Staff is quick though, there is usually somebody on grill swap duty. Verify your meats when you get them we did get a couple wrong cuts / style of protein we didn't order and had to ask someone to swap it out. All in all will be back again for another round on the next run thru the area.

Delicious AYCE BBQ! I personally always opt for the premium option because I love beef tongue. My favorites are the beef short rib, beef tongue, black pork belly. They don't skimp on their meat portions. You must order their soft tofu stew! It's warm and helps wash everything down if you feel a little heavy from the meat. Bonus points for them because their rice is soft. Dry rice can really make or break a meal for me. Service is always really good! They're always coming around to take your order, refill drinks, etc.

Busy, but organized. Staff were always attentive to food needs, and the atmosphere always buzzing. Great Korean BBQ and All You Can Eat!

Came here for a late lunch on Juneteenth and left completely stuffed and satisfied. If you're craving Korean BBQ and want to grill to your heart's content, Sura delivers! My sister and I are so Impressive for an AYCE place. The marinated short ribs (galbi) were definitely the star--tender, juicy, and full of flavor! Highly recommend! The staff are so friendly and fast!!

Love Sura for being AYCE, but honestly I wish they had an option to order meat plates for an extra cost if it's outside of the package deal. We all got the regular package which we can pick out of a bunch of different meats and soups, but I was feeling a little octopussy that night and was hoping to order some even though it was in the premium package. I was willing to pay extra for it, but they said unless I was paying for the premium package price, I couldn't order it. So I did without it. Big portions of meat here, so we love that. But sauce options, not so much, so we prepared our own sauce from home to eat with the meat lol The servers will come around to switch out your grills if it becomes too charred so the meat won't stick as much. Honestly I just come here if I'm too lazy to set up butter pan at home.

Accessible by bus (stop is right outside) or street parking if you drive. Our server was super nice and attentive! Thank you first of all! We ordered the following dishes: +Kimchi seafood pancake - overall profile nice, different look then I've seen but flavor profile was fine for me, messy and fell apart but many places are like that no biggie scoop em up! +Spicy beef stew with glass noodles and rice. Flavorwise, well seasoned broth enjoyed it on a cold day, wish it was actually spicy. Pork bulgogi, I'm usually accustomed to gochujang chili paste style with onions and carrots but they have a different take. It was more a tangy sweet bbq or teriyaki style with a load of bean sprouts (i personally hate bean sprouts not that i can't eat it haha) not my cup of tea tho. Overall thank you for the meal and the great service. Dishes didn't hit it out of the park for me. All the best!

I believe this is a family-owned establishment, offering Korean cuisine. We arrived slightly before they opened back up for dinner, & ended up being their first customers for the evening. Throughout our entire meal, we had the same server who helped us... she was very nice & sweet! We ended up ordering these three dishes to try: -kimchi seafood pancake -spicy beef stew -pork bulgogi Thoughts: So, I was reading some reviews before coming here & I was kind of shocked that they charge extra if you want banchan here lol. I've never seen this before. Anywho, didn't end up getting banchan to try. All the dishes took around 10-20 min to arrive, with the kimchi seafood pancake being served to us first. I personally enjoyed it! It was crispy on the edges/crust but it was a little hard to eat only because it kept falling apart on us. For the pork bulgogi (grill), we were expecting the usual gochujang + gochugaru w/ carrots + onions on a skillet. This was simply served on a white plate w/ a bunch of bean sprouts. We were not expecting there to be bean sprouts at all lol & the menu does not include descriptions for any of their dishes, other than the alert server of any allergies. We're not allergic to bean sprouts by any means, but do not enjoy eating them. It was a bit unexpected since we've never experience this dish being cooked this way. Aside from the bean sprouts in the pork bulgogi, I would say this dish was overall not a hit for us. The flavor profile was similar to teriyaki sauce? Not exactly sure but just ended up not being anything we envisioned. Now, as for the spicy beef stew, I enjoyed the flavor! It came with glass noodles & a side of rice. Portion sizes were average & on par with other Korean spots in MA, in my opinion. I would say, one thing I wished was if everything was spicier. We found all the dishes to be very mild in spice. Overall, I would say 3/5. It unfortunately didn't hit the spot for us. The prices were also on the higher side. Normally it wouldn't matter if the flavors were there for us but I don't think we will be returning any time soon. Perhaps maybe in the future to try their sundubu jjigae/tofu soup as I see great reviews for that dish from here. Parking: street parking

I would tell anyone that doesn't like incredibly fatty meat, or that likes their food cooked beyond medium rare to dine elsewhere. The hostess was friendly, we told her we had never been to the restaurant before, she quickly walked us thru the menu. Our waiter came by, we told him we had never been there before. We ordered various dishes, and plates of meat were dropped off. No explanation whatsoever. As he turned to leave, I said again, we'd never been there before. No insight into how best/long to cook anything. Every meat dish was incredibly fatty, like, 2/3rds fat. I placed meat on the grill, it cooked very slowly. I asked him to turn up the temperature as we liked our meats cooked well, so he turned the heat up. At one point he said he was going to swap out the grill-pan, and turned the heat down, while meats were still cooking. This was incredibly frustrating, I felt like food was taking forever to cook, and the longer I sat there staring at the meat, the more annoyed I got. It was all you can eat. We didn't finish our first order of 5 dishes we were so annoyed. It was not worth the money, it was an unejoyable experience. I've only been to a few self-cook Korean restaurants previously, and generally liked them. I think the staff needs to be more aware when someone asks for guidance, that they should try to be more engaged. I left angry, and still hungry.

This is a really nice restaurant area, very spacious and plenty of seating when I came on a weekday evening around 6:30pm with a party of four. I wasn't familiar with their portion sizes but they recommended 3 barbecue meat dishes + 1 additional dish for four people. Given how expensive some of the options are (galbi is around $37!), we opted for two meat options and a soft tofu chigae soup. I appreciated how the staff gave us feedback and recommendations on what to order though! Food: - Galbi: delicious. A smaller portion, definitely not too much meat especially if you have multiple people. I feel like you definitely pay for flavor and quality here instead of quantity but some of the pieces were sinewy and tough. - Spicy bulgogi: my favorite, and a better portion for price. I preferred this to the Galbi! Not too spicy - Soft tofu chigae soup: so spicy but a very cozy feeling. They give you an egg to crack into it. Honestly I liked the flavors so much but this is definitely more of a "treat" of a restaurant since it's hard to do alone (have to order at least two dishes to do the barbecue option) and it's expensive for what it is!
