I so love this place! Very happy we had a reservation on a busy Friday night. We went to celebrate birthdays, which is so nice because if it's within 3 days of the birthday, it's free! There are so many options. Unfortunately I did not take any pics while dining, but everything was delicious (after we cooked it, of course). I also really enjoyed the seaweed salad! The staff was very nice, attentive, when helpful. We also indulged in the tiramisu, which is super delicious! What a treat! 5 STARS! I just don't go here often enough. It can be busy, so make a reservation. We will be back!

    Tiramisu! So yum

This has been so far the best AYCE Korean BBQ in the 757. It doesn't have the hot pot, so that sucks but as far as the meat and the marinaded meat, it's the best flavor! They do have the sauces already prepped at the table, so need to get up from your table to make your sauce. It can be good or bad, I guess. They also have kitchen dishes already made like wings, japche, cheese corn, spicy rice cake and etc. That's also a plus. Also, this place uses real fire hot plate to cook your protein. It's not an electric kind where your food can't get that nice char. Also, this place has good ventilation but I don't smell like I was playing in a smoky kitchen lol!

Never regret a time here with friends! Special shoutout to Kat our waitress for going above and beyond to make sure we were all taken care of at ALL times. Don't be shy to try/order any and everything you see as it is an all you can eat menu. The sticky wings have been an all time favorite with my friends, but definitely add that Miso Pork belly to the list too! Will for sure be frequenting this restaurant!

Had to make an update food is great but communication is terrible especially from the host clearly has a bad estimate on time and with everything else just a bad experience said to be 1hour to a hour half waited for 2 1/2 hours what a crazy night wish they could do better on letting us know or communicate better

I'm not a hibachi guy at all; i actually try to avoid them. So going to this place was ONLY because my friend group wanted to go. There were 5 of us so we went. I'm really glad we did. This is the best hibachi style, family style restaurants. I don't wanna cook if I'm going out i cook all the time at home. But this was the best I've had recently. The company i had with me helped as they were all carnivores and ordered all the meats, but that was only possible because of the great selection Gogi has to offer. Drinks were goo and they actually had alcohol in them, the food selection was diverse enough to not get bored after one or two cooks, the staff was attentive and offered great service. Casual ambience that you could enjoy with ample parking across the street. Definitely will be back!

I made reservations through Yelp and I'm very glad I did. When we arrived for our 6pm reservation there were already many people waiting for tables and the restaurant was busy! We were seated immediately by a friendly hostess. Our server was attentive and explained how the menu and process of ordering and cooking worked. It is AYCE (all you can eat) so you basically order whatever meat, veggie and chef plates that you want at whatever point during your dining experience that you want. We were a group of 4 people and we pretty much tried most items. They provide each person which a tray of dipping sauces. It is a lot of fun cooking and tasting everything. Make sure to keep your cooking utensils separate from your eating utensils for contamination free purposes. I definitely recommend Gogi Guys as an entertaining and interactive place to eat. Dessert of either an ice cream cup or tiramisu is also included in your AYCE dinner.

I do not know how much they cost since it was all free This Restaurant is good They will sing Happy Birthdays to anyone while also offering to give a free Meal for the Birthday person if there are around 4+ People Staff is very attentive with getting your needs Their variety of variety Bulgogi is their best food. I think the premium meat such as the Galbi are meh and too fatty. Their sides are delicious though

I have been to a few Korean BBQ places and decided to try Goji Guy in Norfolk. I love the decor and atmosphere. Our waitress was super cute and sweet! I love that they give large portions of meats compared to other places I've been to. They are pricier than other places I have been to, but the quality and portions are worth it! My ONLY complaint would be when the first turn on the burners or switch out the plates, they turn them up really high so they heat up more quickly. The issue is, they forgot to come back a few times to turn it down so the food burns. Other than that, I would definitely visit again and recommend to others!

Gogi Guys continues to be one of my absolute favorite restaurants! I've been multiple times now, and each visit just reinforces why I keep coming back. The food is seasoned perfectly--flavorful, but never overwhelming--and the quality is always top-notch. The service? Impeccable. The staff is friendly, attentive, and keeps the experience smooth no matter how busy they are. I've raved about this place so much that I've gotten my friends hooked too! If you haven't been yet, you're seriously missing out. Gogi Guys is easily a must-visit spot in Norfolk, and I'll be back many more times!

Came here for my birthday dinner after hearing they offered a birthday freebie--unfortunately, there was a big hidden condition that it only applies if you have a party of 4 or more. Definitely a letdown and not the warmest birthday surprise. We had reservations, but instead of a smooth welcome, it felt a bit disorganized and chaotic--waited to be seated while staff seemed scattered. That vibe carried throughout the night: even the bathrooms were out of soap and paper towels, which doesn't inspire confidence when the place is packed. Now, onto the food--the real highlight. The meats were well-marinated and tasty, and the banchan was fresh, though the selection felt more limited compared to Korean BBQ spots I've had in the Bay Area. Still, what they did serve was solid and satisfying. Loved the seafood pancake and beef bulgogi, and the grill setup was clean and efficient. The ambiance is fun with its neon vibes, but service needs tightening and the "birthday promo" should be communicated upfront. Overall, the food makes it a solid 4 stars, but with a bit more polish, it could easily hit 5.

It has been a whole year and a half since I came back to Gogi Guys. I do have to mention that the service is so much better (at least on weekdays). They don't give indiviual banchan anymore, instead of a group banchan (the potato, peanuts, and the pickled radish were my favorite). Our waitress was very quick with our order and changed out our grill very often. In terms of side dishes other than the meat, I highly recommend getting the seafood/scallion pancake and the steamed egg. The meat was better quality than last time and I ate so much more than last time. They do first come first serve still, but you have to wait until the table is set up for you, which takes a couple minutes of waiting. If it's a big group, you need a reservation. Parking is street parking or in the parking lot where Aldi is.

Ask the Community - Gogi Guys Korean BBQ

Hi, can a single person have dinner or does there have to be more than 1?

Yes, you can have a table for 1. I saw someone eating by themselves when I last ate there.

Are there different prices for lunch compared to dinner like other Korean BBQ spots in the area?

I don't believe so. I think the AYCE option is all day long. However, for lunch, I believe they have set menu items for a cheaper price like bento boxes and such. Enjoy!

How does the payment work? Is there a specific total per person or do the meats add up as the total?

Hi Emily, This is an All You Can Eat Korean BBQ, you can order anything and as much as you can eat on the menu. We charge by per person just like buffet.

Is there a private parking lot or is it street parking?

We parked in the street when we went.

Does the restaurant need reservation for a group of 8+ customers?

Yes so they have prime time to prepare and so that you won't have to wait a hour plus to be seated.

We pulled up during what felt like a historic flood but apparently might just be another day in Norfolk. We arrived a bit after lunch hour and were able to order right away. You make your choices at the counter and then take the food to a covered seating area. (Good thing it's covered since it was pouring) I'll start by mentioning that every staff member we encountered was awesome, they all seemed into what they were doing and delivered a great experience. I was also impressed by the operation. They had everything you would need displayed in the seating area. Sauces, utensils, napkins, to go containers, and bags. No need to awkwardly look for anything. Hard to get this far into a review without mentioning the outstanding food. It's some of the best BBQ I've had! We went with the professional platter and added burnt ends. I enjoyed each and every item but the standout to me was the brisket, I've never had a juicier more tender piece of brisket in my life! Ribs were done really well also, the burnt ends had tons of flavor, the sausage was delicious, and the pulled pork and chicken were winners as well. The fries were better than expected, the Mac and cheese was tasty, and the broccoli salad worked really well with all that meat! Truly a feast!

They also sold snack, house made sauces and some merchandises of their brand. I ordered the 2 meat platter with beef brisket and chopped beef. Within few minutes of ordering, they brought the order out to the table. I liked the chopped beef but didn't like the brisket. Tried the burned end also that was good actually. The chicken nuggets I got for my daughter were the best. They were so tasty. The side of corn pudding was also excellent. The shack we sat in was really hot since there was no AC, just a normal fan was blowing air. It was self service so we got the utensils, soda and water. They had ketchup, vinegar, mustard, bbq and white sauces available in the condiment area. Overall it was a decent spot but bbq meat fell short in taste for me.

That term "pocketing" is used by review writers that they will not write due to a negative experience, or want to visit again. This is probably my 4th, or 5th visit since they opened over 6 years ago. The business is tucked away in a parking lot off I64 and North Hampton beside Chick Fil A. So you must snake around the lot. Once you arrive there is plenty of parking. I was immediately taken back by the amount of trash in the lot, especially one particular pile that looked freshly dumped. The footprint of this Mission is smaller than others, for that matter smaller than Virginia Beach around 8 miles away. The size seems correct for the amount of business they receive. I entered the store on a weekday around 12:30 PM. I noticed trash on their patio too! My instincts were to turn around and leave. I immediately alerted the manager of the trash. He was busy preparing a major catering order. He did not thank me, he did not utter a word. He rolled his eyes. I specifically came to Mission with it being National Peach Cobbler Day. I absolutely adore Missions peach cobbler. I ordered a pulled port lunch with green beans that comes with corn bread. I added a peach cobbler. I was not asked if military, which they provide a discount. They ALWAYS ask, first time they have not. So ok, no discount today. I respect the mission of the business to support military and first responders. The staff clearly did not want to be there, no smile no enthusiasm when I exclaimed it's National Peach Cobbler Day and yours rocks! This was the first time I've ever encountered staff at Mission like that. They were not busy, so I expected almost immediate turn around. Even when busy the Mission staff are like Ninjas. It comes out in minutes. So I waited. Order up, no smoke by staff #2. Or is it #3 because the manager sure never smiled. I found a seat. The dining room was pretty empty and clean. Dug into my lunch and the pulled pork is a favorite and was great! The green beans dry, the cornbread not edible and worse of all the peach cobbler not as good, the breading was dry. I asked another staff if they had fresh cornbread. Another staff brought out two center pieces, she was friendly but no apologies. It was still dry and not edible. This staff never did another check unfortunately. If she had I would have reported my overall dissatisfaction with the meal. Upon walking out I could not help myself. I began picking up trash on the patio with a nearby can to easily dispose of. What seemed obvious is this. They had more than enough staff. Their resources were being strained because a major catering order that had all hands on deck. It seemed apparent this was the priority. I did notice the like of trash was picked up, but nearby trash let untouched, that's just lazy! Later in the evening I got very sick, of course it's unknown why with having a dinner meal as a possible culprit too. So 50/50 chance its Mission. I will never return to the Norfolk Mission again and fully believe corporate needs to step in to thoroughly look into items I've outlined. I will continue to support Mission BBQ. Again this hurts to write. 1.5 rounding up because I can bring myself to a 1 star. I feel like I've been ripped off from $18+
