Sad to have to give this place a low review. The two stars are only for the price and the food, which doesn't change much for KPOT it's AYCE, and the food is always decent. I will say that I have been to multiple locations, this one was the lowest in quality. The Buffett bar wasn't labeled correctly in the sauces area, and the hot items available were not good. Fries??? My coworker nd I were just talking about how good the chicken is usually at kpot but not this location. Service was horrible, the server was trying to be friendly which is great, but there was like 3 people in the place, and I am sure that the other person eating was a worker on their break. So it shouldn't have taken very long to get drinks and to service us, I ended up having to get everything myself, all utensils, soup ladles, extra plates. There was only 3 people in the building eating there should be no reason for us not to be checked on, or sodas refilled. The server that brought our food out, practically threw the food on the table, we were trying to make space for everything and he was holding a bowl of rice and I guess we took to long and he pretty much slammed it on the table and walked away, and we told the server this and he said that he was made about something, which is not an excuse for this to have happened! Fried rice was horrible! White rice seemed to have been served awhile ago and it was hard on top. Everyone in the building wasn't paying attention to anything, I waited for 10 mins to my bill checked out at my table, I went to the restroom which is another story! And my bill and card still hadn't been picked up from the table, I told my friend let's go and walked to the front thinking someone would finally come but no, they didn't I stood there looking for someone, could've walked right out and they wouldn't have noticed us gone. But I am not that kind of person, and I stood there waiting for my bill to be rung up. Bathroom had no soap! How are employees washing their hands! All the utensils pilled up, 90% of them looked like they needed to be rewashed, and there was a mildew smell coming from that area, take it all down and clean it! They need to work on the vents here. The Korean bbq smell is strong and the odor sticks to you even though my party and I didn't order any Korean bbq. We were a party of 7 and to sit comfortably they sat us at 2 different tables not knowing they were booths behind one another. Not sure why they couldn't sit us at the big tables on the other side of the restaurant where the tables were next to eachother and not booths. I didn't even know they had these tables until it was too late and we were getting our food from the buffet already. We came from out of town to visit family so we didn't get to talk much since our tables were separated. As for the hot pot the soup bases were a bit salty. We got the Szechuan Spicy and the Japanese Miso. The portions were small when ordering the dishes so we had to order multiple times. Sauce bar was plenty and cooked appetizers were good. Dessert section my kids were of course happy about since they love Melona bars. Getting our waitress to refill our waters took a long time, I had to go and look for her to get it. In NYC normally when our soup base is running low they offer to refill it but this place didn't. I have a love - hate relationship with Kpot! They are my favorite spot for hot pot - I always get the tom yum brother (it's the perfect balance of sour and spicy) and love to load it up with my faves: brisket, enoki mushrooms, bok choy, corn, etc etc. HOWEVER, this location severely limits your portions. They started a new iPad system where you can just order from the app - it doesn't matter if you order 2 or 4 or 10 portions of meat, they will only send one order with 6 thin slices. We've learned to just order one at a time, back to back, but the iPad will also limit how many times you can order. You'll have to wait 15 min or call the waitress/waiter over. What a great concept to combine both Korean BBQ and Hot Pot! Before leaving back to Cali, we had our last dinner at KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot in Norfolk, VA. It was the perfect place to accommodate our palates and celebrate 3 birthdays. We opted for the KBBQ only menu and got to pick out our own sauces from the salad bar. There were many veggies to choose from. The servers were all wonderful. And the ambiance was upbeat and lively. The restaurant is located on Little Creek and Tidewater, and was easy to find using Google Maps. My only complaint is how dangerously slick their floors are. Since we had dinner, I'm sure the floors were slick from a day's worth of oil and other dressings. We did let the staff know but I think it was a combination of the flooring material and oil. I absolutely love Korean BBQ and with so many to choose from in the area, we decided on KPOT and I am so glad we did. We decided to dine in on a Friday evening around 8pm and were told the wait was 45 mins to an hour and they were indeed correct because we were seated an hour after we arrived. Our waitress, Zoe, was super friendly and had a great personality. She took our drink and meat order and informed us of where the sauce bar was as well. She mentioned that our meat order would be at our table once we returned from getting our sauces and sides and she was right. As soon as we got back to our table, our first order of meat was ready and waiting for us. We decided on the Short Ribs, Prime Brisket, KPOT Steak, Spicy Chicken Bulgogi, Coconut Curry Shrimp, Spicy Baby Octopus, Spicy Salmon, and the Spicy Pork Belly along with onions, zucchini and a side of rice. We also grabbed kimchi and spring rolls as well. All of the meats were fresh and tasted amazing with the sauce that I created. Zoe was awesome with checking on us and getting our orders placed and the meats came out pretty fast. I did order a Mango Margarita with a sugar rim but not only did it come with a salt rim but it didn't have any ice in it so it did get warm pretty fast. Overall, the BBQ at KPOT was amazing! All of the food was fresh and delicious. The decor in this restaurant was super cute as well and the staff were wonderful. Went here for dinner and it was so good! This was my second time at this location, my first was back in September for my bday. We had a 20 minute wait and went around 7 pm on Friday. A lot of people started coming in right after we did and had 40 min - 1 hour waits, so around that time is definitely when they get busy. Did the bbq only option and it was so yummy, my favorite was the spicy beef bulgogi (10/10) and I ordered a pink kosmo drink (8/10). Totally wish they allowed to-go boxes lol *Also, the floors are very slippery. The only thing I didn't care for were the crab sticks, the texture was different than I'm used to. Portions of meat are small which is great to try a variety of things and limit waste!! There were also dessert options - ice cream and an eclair. We came in around 2 and was sat promptly- drinks and explanation was within a few minutes. It got really smoky in the building (needs better exhaust) once grill was fired up and the floors were pretty slick. Food came out quickly (though each dish came out portioned for 1/2 people not for the 4 at the table despite increasing the quantity. Quality of ingredients was fresh but felt/tastes lower grade (bulgogi was balled up/connected and fatty). We did appreciate the Tablet option so we can quickly reorder as the round was 3/4 consumed. I love Korean bbq. I've been to 2 other places in va beach which are ok but you'll only get to bbq if you order a certain (big)amount of food. Kpot offers ayce at a very reasonable price. The lunch menu option is on the thin side but they're delicious. There were 3 of us and none of us eat pork so the option gets thinner. However, they do kinda make up for it with a decent choice of banchan which are self serve (and so good!) together with sauces and some other appetizers and ice cream too. Concoct your own sauce from the varieties offered. I hope next time to out something spicier. We're south east Asian so those mild gochujang just isn't cutting it. The place was empty and I then asked to speak to manger for which was told that they only allow parties of 8 at the table and I said so you're discriminating against people with disability because you're not meeting our needs. He then said he wasn't gonna argue with us we went and sat down a server came over and said to sit there we had to pay automatic gratuity because the table is for parties of 8 or more. And I said no I'm not paying that our party is 4 adults and two babies. And they then refused to serve us. I plan to file a complaint with the BBB as well and with the ADA. And the need to be required to post that they refuse service to guests in parties less tha 8 requiring a table unless you're willing to pay automatic gratuity. My family has been really excited to try this place! We used to go to hook & reel a lot and were sad that it had to close but once we saw that it was going to be a Korean bbq/hot pot spot, we weren't too mad lol So we came for lunch, there were some food limits where items are only available for dinner. When you walk in, there's your array of sauces but what made this place different was the fried chicken wings, onion rings, and French fries. For our hot pot bases, we got Thai Tom yum, the Korean seafood tofu, and mushroom soup. To me the Korean seafood tofu had a lot of flavor; but it was a little too hot for me to enjoy the broth. The portions were reasonable. I'm glad they weren't too big so that we could pace ourselves in case we wanted to try more! We got a lot considering the price. Got to have some pork belly, bulgogi, spicy tuna, brisket, garlic shrimp. The grill burned up fast. So you either have to cook fast or put it on a lower heat before that smoke gets to you before the plate switch up. I'm not sure if we had the option of having a server cook it for us, but we came in assuming that we would cook everything ourselves. We had our own bowls of rice, lots of veggies and seafood, dumplings, and more in the hot pot. My advice is to pace yourself and not let your eyes be bigger than your stomach lol. And save some room for dessert! There's fruits and tiramisu available too! Looking forward to more visits. I know the staff is still learning. This is one of the first hot pot places located in Norfolk, if not the only one. KPOT has been showing up on my instagram feed for quite sometime so my husband and I took some friends here to try it out for the first time together. It's $31 per person for AYCE hot pot or KBBQ but if you want both, it's an additional $5. We did KBBQ and it was actually pretty good. I loved their side dishes and their meat selection is *chefs kiss.* Customer service is great! Our waitress was always coming back to make sure we were doing okay and if we needed anything. The only problem I have are the floors. It is soooo slippery. It's like they're mopping their floors with cooking oil. One of our friends was heavily pregnant and she almost slipped a couple of times. We thought maybe it was just that day but my husband and I came back earlier this week and it was just as bad! We'll look at other customers coming in and we see them fighting for the life trying to get to their seats or the service bar. If you plan on making a trip, please don't wear heels. Ok. 30mins later 2 more showed up. And we asked if we can sit already coz we were so hungry. They said no.2 more came in .. I said 7 of us already. We were told it was like five dollars extra to get both grill and hot pot so we just did that. It is all you can eat with a sauce bar and bottle sauce / seasonings and appetizers like kimchi, French fries and spring rolls etc. They also have chips and little candies, little creams etc. the table comes with tablet where you can order your proteins, veggies, noodles etc. Everything came out pretty quickly and I would say all of the dishes were good quality and quantity. We came here on a Sunday for Father's Day. I had called a few days before hand to make reservations however I was told they did not take them and it was first come first serve. No worries. They opened at noon so we arrived at noon and there was maybe 2 other families in front of us so we were seated right away. The restaurant is pretty big and they have lots of tables available. We got seated and our server came right away, Diasia was awesome!! She got our orders right away and told us where the sauces where and other food items that we can try. We ended up just doing the Kbbq option. Our different meats and veggies came right away and we started cooking. This is the 2nd location of KPOT that we tried. We also had this in Orlando as well. We were kinda disappointed that they ran out of our fave cut, they brisket but there was lots of other different selections on the menu- beef, pork, chicken and seafood. Our fave was probably the KPOT steak. Everything was really good. I love how they had other items at the buffet area like chicken, fries, crab legs, kimchi and radish. They also had a huge sauce area to mix your own sauce for the meats and hot pot. They also had ice cream cups for dessert which the kiddos loved. Great Kbbq and hot pot restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised to find that there's an all you can eat option in the downtown brooklyn area. We waited around 45 minutes for a table for 2 on a Friday night, I highly recommend checking into the line ASAP. The servers were quick and attentive. The meat was pretty good quality and the hot pot and kbbq combo is a great value, but too much food for the time limit so I'll probably just stick to one or the other the next time I come. For me and hubby, but it's small, so we doble and order again it came this time 5pc. So we triple it, and it also said maximum serving served. Even the veggies.. I have enough and ask our server about it.. and she said that she would get it from the kitchen... My Management team went here for a special dinner out. When we first arrived they said 35 minutes- we were starving but excited to try it. I noticed people waiting grabbing snack off a shelf by the front counter - turns out they supply snacks while you wait! Chips, cookies , seaweed snacks , nuts- all individually wrapped. (Awesome idea!) Turns out the wait was only about 20 minutes. We were seated by Amiya. Who would be our waitress. She was the best!! She gave us time to check out the menu- as some of us had been to a similar restaurant and some hadn't. When she came back with the drinks she explained the options to us . We were rolling big so we decided to do the Korean BBQ and the Soup - to do both adds $5 to each person- but this way you do not to choose! Tip- go with people that want what you want! If you want the BBQ - and your friend wants Soup - you can't do that. Everyone has to do either JUST BBQ or JUST SOUP or pay the extra $5 per person to do both. It is ALL you can EAT! So come hungry. They have a whole setup with the butter, oil. Seasonings, sauces etc that you will need so you get those yourself. It also has extras such as jalapeños, lemons, cilantro , raw eggs, fruit , kimchi, more sauces, crawfish, crab legs, sausages , and more - I also noticed a sign there that told guests while they wait for a table they can enjoy the BUFFET BAR as well !! Crazy!! Food came out immediately after we ordered - Amiya was great about explaining how it all works- and it didn't take long for us to get to cookin. We had a spread of salmon, steak, shrimp, bokchoy, mushrooms, onions , pineapple, broccoli, bowls of rice , our soup and ramen, vermicelli rice noodles, our table was full! Amiya came back several times to see if we needed anything else but we really had no clue how much comes on a plate so we felt like we over ordered. At the end we did have a little too much meat left - so next time we will order 1/2 the amount and add as needed. So we don't waste so much! The vibe is cool, I don't remember any music playing- which is weird- but we were talking a lot as it was a "working dinner" but I just missed how Hook & Reel always had a good song list playing - This is a great addition to our area but I will still miss Hook & Reel and our favorite waitress from there. Overall - the food and value is great! Amiya was great! She did her job and made sure we knew our 2 hour limit was almost up! We were talking so much and enjoying the food we were clueless! Ambiance was great! Enjoyed the Korean BBQ. We could have had the Hot Pot as well but, it was a lot of food. You cook your own food and they bring you as much as you want so long as you don't waste it. read more

recently had the pleasure of dining at KPot and I must say, it did not disappoint! As a fan of Korean cuisine, BBQ, and hot pot, this place checked all the right boxes for me. It was my second visit to this location since its opening, and I was pleased to see that they had already made improvements. During my first visit, I encountered a couple of minor issues. The grills were too hot, causing our food to burn almost instantly upon placing it on the grills. Also, the soup arrived at the table lukewarm, taking quite awhile to reach a boiling point. However, this experience was much improved. The grill was set to the perfect temperature, allowing us to cook our food to perfection, and the soup arrived piping hot, ready to be enjoyed. One of the highlights of the meal was the freshness and taste of the vegetables and meat. Everything was of excellent quality and left us wanting more. However, I did notice that some items, such as the dumplings, appeared to be frozen. While they were still enjoyable, it would have been even better if they were fresh. Aside from the delicious food, the overall experience at KPot was incredibly enjoyable. The service provided was excellent, and the staff was attentive and friendly.
