I came today to dine in and ordered the vegetarian pad Thai, green curry, fried tofu, and drunken noodles w chicken. You order at a kiosk & pay for everything before choosing to sit down or take out. I thought it was pretty efficient especially if you're not the type to like to interact or wait for a server to take your order. They have a table with all your utensils and water so it's a semi self serve but the workers did come around to give me ice & a water jug so I wouldn't have to consistently get up which was nice. They're actually pretty attentive to whether or not you need something. The pad Thai was a little tooo sour for my liking and there was a bit too much sweetness and coconut milk in the curry. Really great flavor and friendly employees. We stopped in for a quick dinner on the way down to San Diego from Los Angeles, and noticed this spot. You order and pay via kiosk and grab a table or select for pickup. They have no actual servers which means no actual tip obligations per their signage, though one of the employees does bring out food to you if you dine in like we did. Good music volume, nice decor, moderately quiet with a few places to sit at (I'm assuming they do mostly pickup orders). Food came out quickly, packed in takeout containers, and cutlery and condiments were available at all tables. Huge servings so while the prices were a little steep, we didn't regret the splurge. I was disappointed in the crispy pork. I got my meal to go, so it could have gotten soggy in the container. The sauce is overwhelming and salty. Pork is already salty so you can just imagine. I recently ventured to a new Thai restaurant instead of my regular spot and was met with a very unpleasant experience. The details are quite extensive, but to summarize, there was a lack of transparency regarding the cost of my order on the phone, which was surprising given that I had only purchased a beef pad see ew and shrimp fried rice. Despite the listed prices, the total of $50 was unexpected. When I inquired for a receipt to understand the charges and that it was the correct order (which I did not know was such a big issue to know what I am spending my own money on) , the apparent owner, who was already engaged in a discourteous phone conversation with another customer, interjected with unnecessary hostility. Her words " you don't have to pay if you don't want to." I attempted to clarify that my intent was not to dispute the charge but to ensure it was accurate. AGAIN, its my money. Two plates for $50 is crazy. The owner's suggestion to verify prices online for future reference was very unnecessary, is that not what we come in person for? The person I was with on the phone and my partner were both flabbergasted with the WHOLE interaction. I never once disrespected anybody as I was in customer service myself I tried to understand but nothing justifies her attitude. The situation was disconcerting and has made me hesitant about returning despite the quality of the food, which I would rate favorably. Pad see yaw 4/5 and shrimp fried rice 3/5. The purpose of this review is not to cast a negative light but rather to highlight the importance of maintaining professionalism and fundamental customer service standards. I am definitely not the only one pointing out the lady's attitude in reviews. Also a suggestion, maybe treat your colleagues nicer especially new hires. TLDR: high marks for service and tasty, unique food! I discovered this restaurant through a food delivery app and was excited to see that it had Thai dishes as well as a fusion pizza concept (Hello Fusion Pizza) with some unique flavors for pizza like curry and crab and shrimp rangoon. I ordered the khao soi, rangoon pizza, and sticky toffee pudding. The khao soi was a large portion and full of flavor. The meat was melt in your mouth tender. The sticky toffee pudding was rich and moist and had an addicting sauce that made me lick the container. The driver forgot the pizza. I got a refund, but the owner still called me to apologize and went out of her way to make sure I got to enjoy the pizza, and boy was it worth the wait. A great hidden Thai restaurant with delicious food. We found this place from Yelp for new places to check out. The inside is decorative and the servers were very attentive. The menu is simple and full of pictures and makes you crave the food more. We ordered pad Thai and noodle dishes, and they came out rather quickly. The portions were huge by the way!! Well worth the price. The noodle dishes have an interesting twist, they are slightly sweeter then most Thai noodle dishes I've ever had. It gives it a more vibrant taste and is very interesting because of it tastes overall. I actually prefer this slightly more sweet taste version. We also ordered the bread pudding because it looked so good in the photos. Worth every bite, it was so delicious and tasty! It's not a desert you'd think they would make. From the interesting decor to the mouth watering dish, Melissa Long, the awesome Chef, has created an outstanding place to eat. The multiple times I have been the food has always been fresh and tasty. If you catch them during a slower time Melissa might whip up something off menu, like the crab and basil fried rice. You can tell she takes pride in her craft because she always comes to check to see if your enjoying her creations. If you're trying to get a feel for the place come during lunch, 12-3 I think, and you can get a plate with multiple dishes. Don't leave without the toffee cake though, I've had it on different occasions, and it is definitely the best I've ever had. Only con of can think of is that I can't eat here everyday, bills and such. But I have added Goi Thai to my monthly budget so I'll be here at least once a week. Decided to try some other food items since the first experience was so good. Last week, I had the Pad See Ew with Tofu and it was excellent. I had it mild, but that may still be "too spicy" for some people, so be careful. I don't think I have ever had sticky rice (or it has been a long time), and that was very good. I put some lower-sodium soy sauce on it and was good to go. The Thai Tea was very tasty and not too sugary. I could taste the tea, so that is a good thing. In a more recent order, I had the Edamame Truffle Dumplings. While it was delicious and healthy, the price was way too high for an appetizer. I also had Fried Tofu w/Thai peanut sauce, is also excellent but too expensive for what it is. My only complaint about Goi Express (if one couldn't figure it out by now) is the prices are very high, so I won't be ordering from there as often as I might like to! read more

I've been to several Thai places in town, but this one blows everyone away everyone who I've interacted with there have been very nice great customer service. the Bangkok chicken cashew. is served with a bowl of rice on the side, they ask you what level of spice you would like medium for me is perfect. Anything else would be way too much. Drunken man noodles is also one of my top favorite. I've also tried the Pad See ew that is also very tasty. Now if you'd like spice I mean spice I would recommend the Bangkok beef on fire. Be careful when ordering this because it's so spicy. This entrée cannot be modified to be less spicy. Extremely disappointed with Goi Express. Ordered dumplings online, only to be told they were out of stock upon arrival. They couldn't refund me because it was an online order and promised a refund when the manager returned, but it never happened despite two follow-up calls. On another visit, we ordered chicken wings that arrived raw. Again, they promised a refund but failed to deliver. It's not about the money it's the principle. Whooooo! Boy my tummy is full! Interestingly enough, I decided to eat here today bc of a yelp review that was bad. I read the owners response and thought it was fire! I can feel passion and honesty just through reading her response to a negative review from someone who didn't even eat there! This is not why the place gets a 5 from me. Its the whole shebang! First when you walk in, you're greeted with such kindness. The super tall cashier/server was just so friendly. The inside was aesthetically nice. The color scheme, blue and yellow with a rich traditional feel was absolutely pleasing. I can feel Thai everywhere in the restaurant. I was asked if it was my first time here and since I was, the workers were very eager to help and explain how it works. I called earlier to see if I can bring my dog and the owner said yes! They are dog friendly as long as I keep the dog in my stroller and sanitized. That's pretty awesome since I get to bring tomi and the restaurant is really clean. I can understand sanitary and clean! You definitely want to eat at a place like this! They had the lunch buffet. Since I came so early they didn't have some of the food out yet, but not to worry. Whatever that was out was enough! They had 3 different curries. Yellow, mango, and massaman. I got all 3. Then I got the ka prao, stir fry Napa cabbage, and chicken and green beans. I'm not a huge chicken fan but if flavor is there, then it's there! Although I prefer pork and beef, chicken is safe. I like my food spicy over 9000 but I understand the buffet (all you can pick one time) has to be bearable for the general public taste buds. Lol! My favorite was the ka prao. Robust flavors with minty after taste of the basil. Really great dish. The green beans and chicken had flavor and was great with rice. The Napa cabbage tasted light and clean. Very nice if you want a more subtle flavor. Of the curries, the mango flavor was my favorite. It was sweet enough and salty enough. I loved all the veggies in it. The coconut and soupy consistency was nice over rice. The massaman is too sweet for me, but was good in its own right. When I say I was full, oh boy was I! The whole thing is 15$. You get sooooo much food. I don't think people realize for the kind of food the owner cooks, it's almost a lost to serve it buffet style like this. This is so different than a Chinese buffet as the ingredients and materials used pales in comparison to this Thai lunch buffet. Plus, I don't feel bogged down or sick after eating here. Haha. I also ordered a dessert as well. I got the coconut creme brulee. It's green and a very attractive dessert. It's 13$. A bit expensive but it sure deserves the price. I think this owner is a brilliant chef in her own right. She makes beautiful dessert creations. I love fine dining and I think her desserts belong more along these lines. Her dishes and desserts really dont deserve the buffet feel. I feel her food is a lot more of an upscale type. My only qualm about this place, is that I'm a raging alcoholic and they don't serve any.
