    Mango Crunch Roll

We ate at Goku Sushi on a Saturday evening. There were many parking spaces in the plaza. The restaurant is medium-sized, holding up to 100 people. When we arrived, we got seated immediately. The host was flexible with us, allowing us to choose where we could sit. The restaurant is quite calm and has moderate noise. We ordered four rolls for two people. Our favorite was the Goku Special (10/10) since the crunchy outer layer matched perfectly with the fish flavor inside the roll. We rated the Dragon Roll 9/10, Mango Crunch 8/10, and Golden California Roll 7/10. All the rolls were delicious. We would definitely return here to eat sushi again!

This is a pretty middle-of-the-road sushi spot; its menu offers pretty standard sushi restaurant fare, including some rice plate and udon options alongside the usual appetizers, nigiri, sashimi, and rolls. The decor is a bit trite, but it's well lit and clean. The parking lot was crowded, but the restaurant itself wasn't overly busy, so we were seated immediately. The service was good--the servers were very friendly and attentive, and our food came out pretty quickly after we ordered as well. We ordered two of the sashimi sampler alongside the hamachi lover roll. I liked the roll! The ratio of fish, rice, and avocado were great. The sashimi sampler, however, was a little disappointing. The presentation was a little awkward--long, thin cuts of fish folded up into little bowls and scattered with greens. 4 of the 6 pieces were seared, which I have never expected when ordering sashimi. The pricing was a little on the higher end of normal, and, while the food was decent, it doesn't outdo any of the other local sushi spots that I have visited in the area. The roll was ~$17 and the sashimi sampler nearly $18. Overall, I think Goku Sushi is a decent spot. If I'm nearby and craving sushi, it is definitely in the running, even if it isn't my first choice. I'd personally ask for details on the contents of any of their samplers/combos in the future, though.

Wow. Just incredibly underwhelming & disappointing visit. Having been to Goku multiple times (and loving it every time) I was excited to show my family this place. The rolls were underwhelming and nothing to rave home about. The worst part about the meal was definitely the Sashimi. All the fish looked discolored and tasted old. It felt like they were using up their last supply of fish before a new delivery or something. Mind you the sashimi we received today was $60 of garbage. On top of the bad cuts of fish, I'm just embarrassed I raved about how good they were to my family.

2/21/2026 same w friends Welcomed and seated. A corner shop w plenty of seating. Asked the server if the lunch menu set was still an option as it was just one min past the promo. They were very accommodating and allowed it. I got the sushi combo and shishito pepper as an appetizer. The sushi combo came w a miso soup, rice, salad, 4 piece California roll, two gyoza, and 5 nigiri. All the sushi I ate were delicious. The shishito was overcooked so it was kinda rubbery. Very not good. And pretty much the only down side. I even recommended the dish to my friend which I felt bad. -1 Love the location and the food.

Lion king, mango crunch, dragon, sashimi

Came in on a Monday around 6:30 PM with a party of five and were seated immediately. We ordered the Lion King Roll, Dragon Roll, Mango Crunch Roll, and the Sashimi Special. Unfortunately, the sashimi was by far the worst I've ever been served at a restaurant. The fish appeared discolored, old, and slimy. When we asked our server what types of fish were included, we were told tori, salmon, albacore, yet the almost every piece (minus the salmon) had a brownish-gray appearance that was extremely unappetizing. I'm not sure if we happened to receive the last of their inventory for the week, but serving fish in that condition at full price ($60) is kind of crazy. Some of the sashimi looked comparable to raw pork that had been sitting out, which was honestly concerning. The sushi rolls were also disappointing. They were very average, with flavors and quality that reminded me of grocery store sushi. Nothing stood out or justified the price point. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. I was especially let down because this restaurant came highly recommended by a family member who has dined here multiple times and always had positive experiences. To make matters worse, I developed stomach discomfort within about 15 minutes of leaving the restaurant. I had been looking forward to trying this place, but unfortunately, my experience fell far short of expectations.

I wish I had made it in time for lunch soecials. I'll need to come back.

Went here for the first time with my mom and I was pleasantly pleased. The wait staff was incredibly attentive, everything looked clean and organized, the menu selection was larger than I anticipated, and the food was good. Everything we ordered tasted fresh and came out in a timely manner. Literally, no complaints. Even the parking is easy and convenient.

I came here end of December for my friend's birthday. She chose this place, so we decided to give it a try. We went on a weekday, so there wasn't a lot of customers when we arrived. We weren't too hungry so we decided to order and share food. We got the lion king, mango crunch, a cream cheese roll, house salad, raw oysters and beer. Our favorite rolls here ended up being the mango crunch and the lion king roll. The lion king roll is baked and is flavorful. It was comparable to cha cha sushi's for us. The mango crunch was another favorite because my boyfriend and friend said they could valley taste the mango in there unlike when we go to other sushi restaurants. My friend and I enjoyed the raw oysters, but my boyfriend didn't like it because he said he could taste the sea water from it. I ended up eating his since I couldn't taste what he was tasting haha. Surprisingly, I really enjoyed the sushi here. I'll be back again when I'm craving sushi to try the other food items on the menu. Service was friendly making our meal more enjoyable. Ambiance felt nice and like home inside. They also had Dragon Ball Z decor referencing the store's name. Multiple tables started to arrive was we were getting ready to leave, so I guess we came before the rush.

We were in the area and wanted to try a new restaurant. Found this place less than a mile from where we were at. So glad we found it! Goku Sushi opened up in our hometown of Morgan Hill and just opened up this new location in South San Jose. Ambiance was inviting and friendly with good decor. Servers were all friendly and refilled our waters without being asked. The rolls were reasonably priced considering we frequent a lot of sushi restaurants not just in the Bay Area but also out of state. The Baked Rolls were $13.95, which is way less expensive than other sushi restaurants and the flavors were very delicious. Our son ordered the Lion King with baked salmon and I ordered Bay Island with baked scallops. We all agreed that the Bay Island was the bomb! The Unagi Avocado roll & Warrior Roll was also tasty. Especially the garlic chips on top of unagi sauce and seared salmon. delicious ! Nice combo. Kinda disappointed that they didn't serve wine but was able to order a hot sake to share and it was still satisfying and complimented the meal. Will be definitely coming back to try the lunch specials and other specialty rolls!

Excellent fresh sushi and very friendly fast service! All of the staff were very welcoming. I would definitely come back.

This place is a cute little restaurant with some Goku decor, hence the name. We were seated quickly for lunch on a Sunday. Service was pretty quick and attentive. The food was good but not mind blowing, the hotate and toro were pretty good of all of the nigiri I had. The karage had a nice crunch but a bit salty to me and tempura had a bit more batter than I prefer. We got the Goku and Ultimate shrimp delight rolls and they were good This is a simple Japanese restaurant if you wanted something quick!

We had a 5:00 PM reservation at Goku Sushi for a large family group of 14, and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. We ordered a wide variety of dishes and everything was really good. Our order included tempura appetizers, grilled whole squid, hamachi kama, the Goku Family Boat, salmon teriyaki plate, beef teriyaki plate, chicken udon, and several rolls -- Kayla Roll, Goku Special Roll, Climax Rolls, Lion King Roll, and Mango Crunch Roll. Every dish came out fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The highlights for me were the beef teriyaki, the Goku special roll, and especially the Goku Family Boat, which was perfect for sharing and a huge hit with our group. The servers were very attentive and handled our large party smoothly, which we really appreciated. We'll definitely be back -- especially since we noticed they offer lunch specials too. Highly recommend!

Checked out Goku Sushi for the first time. Been eyeing this new sushi spot for sometime as it is close to my house. Restaurant is really colorful and clean. The service here was excellent. I had the Mango Crunch which was made to perfection. I loved that roll. I got the classic California Roll which was solid and the gyoza was very crispy and flavorful. Definitely coming back soon to check out their amazing lunch specials.

Birthday Fireworks, Family Memories & Elevated Dining at Trifecta…read more My husband and I celebrated our birthdays at Trifecta this year with our children, and it turned into such a memorable evening. Our neighbors first introduced us to this family-owned gem, and one of the things that keeps us coming back is the genuinely warm and personable service. You can truly feel the care they put into both the food and the dining experience. While my son and I aren't huge seafood or sushi eaters, we can absolutely appreciate the artistry behind Trifecta's sushi. Every dish is beautifully presented, thoughtfully crafted, and made with incredibly fresh ingredients and elevated garnishes. We're just admittedly picky eaters who tend to gravitate toward our comfort favorites like chicken or beef teriyaki. The restaurant is usually packed, so reservations are definitely recommended if you don't want a long wait. Surprisingly, this visit was a little quieter than usual, which made for a nice relaxed atmosphere. My husband and daughter were interested in trying the Chef's Tasting Menu, but we learned it's designed as a full-table dining experience where everyone participates -- something we may plan for another visit. The standout dishes of the night were definitely the corn ribs and chicken karaage. The corn ribs disappeared before I could even snap a photo because everyone devoured them immediately! My family also loved the Pork Adobo Ribs special. I'll admit, Trifecta is more of a special occasion restaurant for us. The bill can climb quickly, especially with multiple sushi lovers at the table, but the quality, creativity, service, and overall experience absolutely reflect that higher-end dining experience. This isn't your average weekly sushi spot -- it's a place you go to celebrate. To top off the night, the staff surprised us with dessert decorated with sparkling light-up fireworks, which made our birthday celebration feel extra festive and thoughtful. The only downside of the evening had nothing to do with the restaurant itself -- unfortunately, a couple at a nearby table was quite loud, drunk, and disruptive. Thankfully, the incredible food and attentive staff still made the night feel special overall. Highly recommended for celebrations, date nights, and anyone looking for elevated food paired with exceptional hospitality.
