I came back again to Sushi Town, and honestly... this might be my new hyperfixation spot This time I tried the USA roll, got another Volcano King roll (because I had to), and also tried the scallop roll. Overall, I really enjoyed everything. The USA roll was pretty unique, it came with seaweed salad, fried oysters, and salmon, which made it feel like a full experience in one roll. For some people, if you aren't a big fan of oysters, then it might be a bit too strong for you. The only small thing for me is the red sauce, I'm not the biggest fan of it. It's still good, just a bit heavy for my taste, so next time I'll probably ask for less of it. As always, the food came out super fast and the prices are very affordable, which makes it even easier to keep coming back. I'll definitely be back again to try more rolls!

It's a crime I haven't reviewed this place sooner! This is my absolute go-to for an affordable, sit-down sushi lunch that never misses. The bento boxes are the real MVP here. For a little over $15, you can add two thick cuts of salmon sashimi $3 and miso soup $2. A total steal that leaves you perfectly full. My favorite rolls: Double Salmon: Generous salmon portions over a salmon/avocado base, topped with tobiko. Lion King: This hits different. The sauce is addicting. I think I detected a hint of garlic? Even as a raw fish over cooked person, I can't get enough of this. Hamachi anything: I forgot the specific name of the yellowtail roll I had, but the quality is so high I'd recommend any hamachi option on the menu. The service is fast, attentive, and genuinely friendly, which is always a huge plus. Even when they're slammed during the lunch rush, the space is clean and the turnaround is quick enough that you're seated almost immediately. 5 stars for the value and consistency!

What a deal, $10.99 plus $2 for salmon sashimi. Teriyaki chicken, tempura.

Came here because we were a fan of Old Town sushi in San Mateo. They closed and moved over here. Today there was a bicycle fair so the whole street was closed. I was driving around to avoid all the closed streets. Finally found it. There were so many cyclists in there and then everyone left since the fair ended at 3 pm. I got the lunch special, good up till 3 pm. $10.99, substitute calif rolls add $2 for salmon sashimi. That salmon sashimi was delicious Tempera was good. Salad rice, big portion of teriyaki chicken (a bit too much sauce for me). My friend ordered dinner combo, 2 items, $25.95, includes miso soup and big bowl of salad. Our 2 items: 5 pieces of sashimi (salmon and tuna) and Rainbow roll has thin slices of sashimi. It was not our favorite. She ordered hamachi slices, which was nice and thick pieces. We had complimentary green tea. Service was good and fast. After eating, I was very thirsty. I am suspecting there's a lot of MSG in the Teriyaki chicken. Next time, will ask for sauce on the side.

Great place for sushi and price is extremely reasonable. Service is really friendly and attentive although parking can be a bit hard to find. There are a bunch of discounted rolls and food and for a family of 4 is around $80 at the high but the food is really good and pretty fresh. Store is not too small and they have a good amount of seating for small and big groups.

Happy Friday eve! What's better than alchy + sushi We arrived and seated immediately. Ordered Beer, hot sake, rainbow roll, toro, and uni. Everything came out quickly and the portions are humongous, we ate, drank, and left happy campers. Thank you sushi town

Ever since finding out about Sushi Town, it's been my #1 sushi recommendation for friends and family who love quality and value. Only downside is that it's super hard to find parking unless you don't mind walking a few blocks. The restaurant is cozy and usually pretty packed but never a wait (that I've experienced). Our server was an older gentleman who was so attentive and making sure we were comfortable. Super great service which is a plus! But I go to restaurants for the food and the quality is insane for the value. We shared a bunch of different rolls and nigiri but the standout for me was the otoro nigiri. The tuna was soooo buttery and flavorful and the slices were thick! I had to eat mine in 2 bites from how thick the fish was. My parents loved the sashimi because of the fresh and thick cuts. And everyone's favorite roll was the USA roll that came with deep fried oysters. I cannot reccomend this place enough, all sushi lovers should try it.

My first time here! My cousin and I stopped by at an odd time around 4:30pm so it was quite empty! There's parking in front but some spots are only 30 mins parking. It is very spacious inside and everything felt super clean. Great service; they were quite fast and attentive :) I loved that they offered water and hot tea (yummy). We ordered miso soups, otoro nigiri, Philadelphia roll (sub cucumber), tropic mango roll, and a lion king roll. They are super generous with the cream cheese here. It's super filling that we were quite full before the lion king roll came out. I would definitely come back! The fish is so fresh and the price is super affordable.

What a great find! They have bentos for $10 which is SO affordable and a variety of rolls 50% off on listed on the wall. Besides bentos, our group also ordered a lot of the discounted rolls since they had classics like rainbow roll and salmon avocado, Lion King roll, Dynamite roll, and double salmon roll (my favorite). Besides the double salmon, I also enjoyed the salmon avocado and Lion King baked roll. The Dynamite is a fried roll so was a little heavy for my taste. What I was most impressed by was the udon. We got the seafood one which was priced at almost $20, but I had no idea how large the portion would be. Our whole table which 6 adults could all share it because a huge pot arrives at the table filled with seafood and a lot of vegetables. Even the cucumber salad was a huge bowl that we could all share. Taste was delicious and is a great place to go with a large party and share a variety of rolls, sides and udon. By the way, if you park in the lot behind the store, and enter through that entrance, the name of the store is different - although it still has the word Sushi in it.

Thee food, though plentiful, and beautifully displayed was mediocre in flavor and quality. The prices and amount of food given was great! I will visit them again for their tempura shrimp roll. It was delish. The volcano lion king roll was disappointing . The crab salad needs more flavor, and I think adding rice and not only imitation crab would be a good touch. All of the staff was friendly enough and attentive, but the atmosphere still felt a bit rushed, but I know they're very busy, so I get it. Seating is a tad bit tight, but not crammed.

Admittedly, this place doesn't have the best sushi, but what it lacks in quality it more than makes up for in value. The portion sizes are massive and everything is super cheap. They have a bunch of specials posted along the walls for cheap lunch bentos and rolls for $7-10 which is pretty crazy for the Bay Area. The best thing here by far is the $10 otoro nigiri. You get 2 fat slices of otoro and they're well marbled. It was really good also, the fish was rich and the fat melted in my mouth. It's a steal for $10 and I would definitely get it again. The Salmon Kama was also pretty good. It was also $10 and was a huge chunk of fatty salmon. Salmon is already pretty oily and the collar has even more fat so it was pretty filling. My only gripe about this place is some of the fish isn't the freshest. The tuna and salmon, which I guess have high turnover, were pretty good, but the Capital Roll which used a bunch of different fish had some that tasted a little off. Usually when I see sushi for this cheap I'm expecting diarrhea, but I didn't get sick so that's good enough for me.

With my daughter FOREVER craving and requesting for sushi, I made the decision to hit up Sushi Town for dinner. Not only have I been hearing raves but the location isn't too far from home. Located right next to the infamous Peter's Bakery, anyone familiar with this Alum Rock area knows that parking can be a bit of headache. The spots right in front of the restaurant is limited to 30 mins but people absolutely disregard that time limit. The ones across the street on the Starbucks side has a limit of 1 hour. Take your time and just mentally prepare yourself for a more than likely walk. Our party of 3 was quicky seated and the initial views of the restaurant were so cute. I absolutely loved the girly vibes with the traditional umbrellas and the pretty, pink cherry blossoms. Dinner consisted of: *GOLDEN CALIFORNIA ROLL *DRAGON ROLL *COMBINATION TEMPURA *MISO SOUP X2 [ended up ordering a 3rd bowl for my toddler since she enjoyed it so much] *LION KING ROLL *DOUBLE SALMON ROLL *SIDE ORDER OF TOBIKO *SODA + HOT TEA Food is quite good but that shouldn't be any surprise since folks are consistently raving about Sushi Town. Fish tastes clean and portions are good. All items purchased was enjoyed but the only thing that left me raising an eyebrow or two was the combination tempura. The vegetables used were unexpected since our order was loaded with eggplant-YES! EGGPLANT!! I've never had eggplant used and what my daughter was looking forward to the most [onion rings] were completely absent. Staff for the most part is helpful but there was a language barrier with some of the staff- primarily with a lady staff member. A request for spicy mayo ended up with her bringing out some kind of ponzu sauce and a bottle of sriracha. Just a few hiccups but we eventually got things figured out but do keep in mind that these requests will lead to additional charges and small serving portions IMO. 4/5 STARS! I'd happily make a return and give a few other options a try. The dinner entrees looked extremely generous and nigiri looked amazing.

Good service, decent food and great value. Their rolls are a bit larger than other sushi joints, and prices seem to be lower. Fresh sushi and great value. Volcano King Roll: 4/5. If you don't mind the massive amount of imitation crab meat, this is the roll for you. Basically it's a combo of dragon roll and rainbow roll with a mountain amount of unity crab meat on top. Must try for the first timer. Note: it's not run by Japanese if you care enough.

Came for lunch, got their beef teriyaki bento along with a rainbow roll. Portion for the rainbow roll was huge. Currently the rainbow roll that was originally $12.95 is on sale for $8.95. Service as usual was polite and attentive. The vibes here are casual and comfortable. Tables were clean as well. For to go, I got their grilled lobster $14.95, double salmon roll $9.95 (originally $13.95), and two Lion king roll $8.95 (originally $11.95). Currently other on sale items: Salmon Kama $6.95 (originally $12.95) Tempura shrimp roll $4.95 (originally $6.95) Dynamite roll $6.95 (originally $11.95) Capital dream roll $8.95 (originally $12.95) Alaska roll $6.95 (originally $11.95) O-Toro $9.95 for 2 pcs (originally $14.95)

Although Taishoken is known for their tsukemen, I'll always opt for mazesoba if I see it on a menu. The mazesoba here is easily some of the best I've had in the Bay Area. The included piece of chashu is well-seasoned, fall apart tender and had a good balance of lean to fatty meat. The noodles are cooked to perfection and have a really nice chew to them. There is just the right amount of sauce in the dish, and the raw egg yolk adds a wonderful richness that coats each strand of noodle when mixed. Included with your mazesoba is a small side of vinegar. I would definitely recommend trying out the mixed mazesoba on its own -- without the vinegar, and adding in the vinegar about half-way in in order to try out a completely different flavor profile of the noodles. The acidity of the vinegar cuts through the richness and keeps you coming back for bite after bite. If you've never tried mazesoba before, I can't recommend it enough at Taishoken.
