It Was Late Night On A Sunday And No Other Sushi Spot Were Open Or Open Late, Until I Looked Online And Found This Spot. Crazy Thing I Pass This Spot Hella Times And Im From San Jose Never Thought A Sushi Spot In A Sketchy Neighborhood. IYKYK .... The Atmosphere Was Vibin, The Place Had 1hr Till Closin Wasn't Packed And The Inside Smell Clean And Looked Clean Fresh It Wasn't Hot Inside, The Menu Were Plastic Covers And They Were Clean. EVERYTHJN Was Clean And InLoved It.. I Order The Hand Sushi Roll Spicy Yellowtail. Also I Order Rainbow Roll Smackin That Mango One Hits As Well The Employee Were Friendly And Chilled Smilin And Askin If Needed Anythin. Highly Recommend This Spot For Reals

Great place if you're looking for somewhere reasonable for Togo. Sashimi is really fresh and they put a lot of fish in their sashimi salad. Store itself is really small and they share the space with a pizza shop so pretty sure there was only 1-2 tables. Service is friendly and really understanding and if you Togo a lot they give a big tray instead of smaller boxes.

Highly recommend this takeout restaurant! Food is consistently delicious. I come here very frequently to satisfy my sushi cravings. I also recommend calling and ordering in advance, about 30-35 minutes prior to pick up. This is because the food is made FRESH to order, which I love. Staff are very nice and welcoming as well.

My sister recommended me this spot & I was a bit skeptical at first since it's connected to a convenience store. I came here on a Saturday night & I like that they're open late! I did order over the phone before heading over & service was fast! There were a good amount of people in the restaurant but still lots of seating. Parking lot is spacious and didn't have to struggle to park. We ordered the Combo A, Philadelphia Roll, Lion King, & Crunch Mango. The portions were huge and the fish tasted super fresh! Definitely have to come back next time to try out their other rolls. I would reccomend bringing cash for the discount :)

Absolute killer value for money The California roll was massive and probably one of the best tasting ones I've had in a long time. Ngl when we opened the boxes I got a whiff of fishy smell but the sushi did not taste fishy at all. Very clean flavor with large slices of fish on top. We ordered in person so had to wait about 15+ mins for our order to be completed during the weeknight dinner rush I will be back and 100% encourage anyone thinking of trying this place to do so

This place is definitely a hidden gem. It is my favorite sushi spot in San Jose because the prices are super reasonable. Every roll is really tasty and the quality is consistent every time I come back. The inside might throw you off since it has hole in the wall vibes but I promise you the food makes up for it. I usually like calling ahead and getting takeout here. The workers are nice and this is for sure the best sushi in town.

Finally got to try Sushi Day after passing by it for several years! I wish I got a chance at the previous curry pizza spot that Sushi Day shared the space with, but not meant to be. Stopped by to place in person on a Friday afternoon. Very clean space, no one really there since it was around 1:30 PM. I'm not sure if there was only one cook/ staff but seemed like he was the main person there at the time! We ordered 3 rolls which took about 15-20 mins as the staff estimated to make: Orange dragon roll, Baked Spicy Tuna, Tuna Lover. For the price and how close the sushi spot is to me, it's pretty good. I would say the size of the rolls are average and feds 2 people well. Definitely orange dragon roll was my favorite which was a salmon, tempura California roll (with avocado). Everything tasted well together and my mom who doesn't like raw fish also enjoyed the orange dragon! The baked spicy tuna had scallops on top of a spicy tuna roll but I didn't really notice the scallops, which was fine since this was mainly for my mom. The Tuna Deluxe roll was tuna over a spicy tuna with avocado and I think I noticed how fresh the avocado was. Overall really good ingredients though and reminiscent to AYCE sushi spots. I would definitely come back when I need a quick sushi fix.

Salmon Nigiri, Orange Dragon Roll, Hamachi Deluxe Roll, Lion Baked Roll and other rolls I can't remember the name lol

Amazing fresh, delicious food, with great prices, and kind service. This is my GO to for sushi, gracias por la comida tan rica

It had been too long since we had sushi and didn't want to go out so I ordered over the phone and 30 minutes later, bada bing! I ordered my usual Hamachi Deluxe and Ichiban while husband ordered the Rainbow and Lion King. I was surprised that the Ichiban had cooked fish and crab inside, so I must have ordered the wrong one because those are not my faves. My toddler doesn't eat sushi (yet) so I ordered their chicken appetizer and come to find out they top it with delicious sauces. I had to sacrifice and eat the exterior to give him the chicken inside. It was far from punishment but an unexpected surprise- next time will say sauce on the side. Unfortunately they do not sell a cup of plain rice so I had to make do at home for the kid. We paid $85 with tip for 4 rolls and a chicken appetizer. It feels like a lot given they are take out only, but it is delicious. The daughter taking orders is a lot nicer, but the area is still unassuming.

Sushi Day is a fantastic little hole-in-the-wall gem. Don't be fooled by its unassuming location connected to a gas station, because the inside is surprisingly nice with beautifully decorated walls. It's a small spot with just a few tables, and parking can be tight, but there's usually street parking in the nearby residential area. The ordering process is simple: you check out the paper menu and order at the front register. They accept tap to pay, which is super convenient. Now for the important part: the food. The sushi was very good and the hand rolls were delicious. Everything we got was seriously yummy. Service was friendly and fast. Our table was a bit dirty when we sat down, but we asked and they wiped it down for us right away. I would absolutely go back to try more things from their menu. Definitely recommend!

Finally got the chance to try Yaichi, the so called Bay Area Tsujihan for their massive seafood…read morerice bowls with ochazuke transformation and I have to say as someone who just came from asia and HAD Tsujihan, Yaichi is so much BETTER. Same quality but Bigger portions and better dashi, for about the same price? Sign me up. My girlfriend and I skated the potato salad appetizer - a delicious DIY experience that let you control the texture of your potato salad (though I feel I overmixed), and two take bowls which were MASSIVE - easily could have shared. The seafood was fresh, the portions generous, and maybe it's because I have a more Americanized palate, but the mixed seafood dashi was richer and paired much better than a mild seafood chazuke. Plus it came with shiso leaves and tempura crunchies so it was really no comparison. Overall this was a delicious meal that left me extremely full, unlike other seafood bowls that leave you just a little too hungry. Given the tastiness of their dashi, I'll def be back to try their udon. Also, as an added bonus, my dogs love the little dashi fish topper on their food they sell separately at the front. Love! --- Sweet: amazing dashi broth, delicious seafood bowls. Rare instance of a dinner living up to the hype Bitter: wish they had mini versions of their more deluxe bowls!!

There was already a group waiting outside the restaurant. You have to add your name to a waitlist with a QR code that's posted on the outside of the restaurant. Many people were also waiting in their cars before opening. The restaurant is located in a plaza so there's plenty of parking at least. Once the restaurant opened, they started seating people by their place in line. We managed to get in the first round seating. I ordered the curry rice with pork katsu. It came with miso soup and pickles on the side. The food came out quite fast. I see why this place already has a line before opening. The pork cutlet was fried perfectly as it wasn't too oily but still really juicy. The curry was good too. Although we stayed a tad bit longer because we were chatting, the staff didn't rush us to leave. Would come back here again, although I would only come here before opening because the line looked really long when we left.

The restaurant was on the smaller side, so it was packed after we came in around 6. Order: - Chicken Katsu with curry on the side 7/10: there wasn't anything special about the curry, but the savoriness of the sauce went very well with the rice. The katsu was also perfectly crisp which made it very addicting to eat. Ask for the curry on the side if you don't want it mixed with the katsu and rice. - katsudon: this wasn't as flavorful as we wished it could be and the sauces were very light and sweet. Additionally, the katsu was very soggy so 5/10 for the dish. Overall, the crisp on the chicken katsu was the most outstanding part of the dish. The dishes weren't super special, but it was a decent katsu places.

That's how much I will sacrifice to eat wagyu. I love how they have sushi and and appetizers are good but the salmon and sashimi though. The popcorn chicken is more breaded and chicken is dry. I had the pork belly and it was too fatty for my taste so I didn't order it again. Edit: I went today with my friends to try their lunch deal. $25 dollars?! Say less. I got to try the wagyu fried rice and wagyu udon. I love it but I usually stick with the meat. I only ate 1/4 of each carbohydrates bowl. The popcorn chicken once again has too much breaded and the gyoza is below average. Still, the sushi, sashimi, and meat are delicious. The pork belly was not fatty as I remember from my last visit. In addition to the grill options, they also offered sushi and clay pot rice dishes, which added some nice variety to the menu. However, the grilled meats were the weakest part of the meal. I'm not sure if it was the cuts of meat or the preparation, but the meats lacked flavor, and the sauces and salt provided didn't do much to improve them. If I were to come back, I would probably order fewer grilling items and focus more on the rice dishes and sushi instead. Those options seemed to have more potential and made for a better part of the meal. The service was just okay. I asked for a paper menu because I strongly prefer that over scanning a QR code, but the staff seemed a little annoyed by the request, which left a less-than-great impression. As for the ambiance, the restaurant itself is a decent size and has enough seating. For a BBQ restaurant, I think they could benefit from having more space and additional seating, but they had just enough to accommodate guests during my visit. Overall, I think there are better options if you're specifically coming for Korean BBQ. However, the lunch special does offer a good amount of variety, and I would consider returning for the non-grill items.
