Highly recommend this takeout restaurant! Food is consistently delicious. I come here very frequently to satisfy my sushi cravings. I also recommend calling and ordering in advance, about 30-35 minutes prior to pick up. This is because the food is made FRESH to order, which I love. Staff are very nice and welcoming as well.

Great place if you're looking for somewhere reasonable for Togo. Sashimi is really fresh and they put a lot of fish in their sashimi salad. Store itself is really small and they share the space with a pizza shop so pretty sure there was only 1-2 tables. Service is friendly and really understanding and if you Togo a lot they give a big tray instead of smaller boxes.

This place is definitely a hidden gem. It is my favorite sushi spot in San Jose because the prices are super reasonable. Every roll is really tasty and the quality is consistent every time I come back. The inside might throw you off since it has hole in the wall vibes but I promise you the food makes up for it. I usually like calling ahead and getting takeout here. The workers are nice and this is for sure the best sushi in town.

My sister recommended me this spot & I was a bit skeptical at first since it's connected to a convenience store. I came here on a Saturday night & I like that they're open late! I did order over the phone before heading over & service was fast! There were a good amount of people in the restaurant but still lots of seating. Parking lot is spacious and didn't have to struggle to park. We ordered the Combo A, Philadelphia Roll, Lion King, & Crunch Mango. The portions were huge and the fish tasted super fresh! Definitely have to come back next time to try out their other rolls. I would reccomend bringing cash for the discount :)

Absolute killer value for money The California roll was massive and probably one of the best tasting ones I've had in a long time. Ngl when we opened the boxes I got a whiff of fishy smell but the sushi did not taste fishy at all. Very clean flavor with large slices of fish on top. We ordered in person so had to wait about 15+ mins for our order to be completed during the weeknight dinner rush I will be back and 100% encourage anyone thinking of trying this place to do so

Finally got to try Sushi Day after passing by it for several years! I wish I got a chance at the previous curry pizza spot that Sushi Day shared the space with, but not meant to be. Stopped by to place in person on a Friday afternoon. Very clean space, no one really there since it was around 1:30 PM. I'm not sure if there was only one cook/ staff but seemed like he was the main person there at the time! We ordered 3 rolls which took about 15-20 mins as the staff estimated to make: Orange dragon roll, Baked Spicy Tuna, Tuna Lover. For the price and how close the sushi spot is to me, it's pretty good. I would say the size of the rolls are average and feds 2 people well. Definitely orange dragon roll was my favorite which was a salmon, tempura California roll (with avocado). Everything tasted well together and my mom who doesn't like raw fish also enjoyed the orange dragon! The baked spicy tuna had scallops on top of a spicy tuna roll but I didn't really notice the scallops, which was fine since this was mainly for my mom. The Tuna Deluxe roll was tuna over a spicy tuna with avocado and I think I noticed how fresh the avocado was. Overall really good ingredients though and reminiscent to AYCE sushi spots. I would definitely come back when I need a quick sushi fix.

Amazing fresh, delicious food, with great prices, and kind service. This is my GO to for sushi, gracias por la comida tan rica

It had been too long since we had sushi and didn't want to go out so I ordered over the phone and 30 minutes later, bada bing! I ordered my usual Hamachi Deluxe and Ichiban while husband ordered the Rainbow and Lion King. I was surprised that the Ichiban had cooked fish and crab inside, so I must have ordered the wrong one because those are not my faves. My toddler doesn't eat sushi (yet) so I ordered their chicken appetizer and come to find out they top it with delicious sauces. I had to sacrifice and eat the exterior to give him the chicken inside. It was far from punishment but an unexpected surprise- next time will say sauce on the side. Unfortunately they do not sell a cup of plain rice so I had to make do at home for the kid. We paid $85 with tip for 4 rolls and a chicken appetizer. It feels like a lot given they are take out only, but it is delicious. The daughter taking orders is a lot nicer, but the area is still unassuming.

All I can say is I never knew this little hidden gem if. Sushi Resturant was even here myself and a few friends wanted some sushi and we were so glad we came the sushi rolls hige and packed with fresh tuna or scallops or salmon depending on what rolls we ordered fresh delicious the gurl at the restaurant that greeted us was really sweet and took the time to let us know specials if the day that we're not in the menu we order some baked rolls some hand rolls and raw sushi rolls DELICIOUS we eat until we could eat no more this sushi restaurant is connected to a market where we went and purchased our drinks The chef ISRAEL did amazing fresh and delicious sushi love the welcoming feeling as soon as you walk on your greeted by Lizbeth and I noticed lots of people preorders comming to pick up take out orders so once finished we expected. Large bill $97.00 for huge fresh sushi rolls 7 and we couldn't finish so we took some home definitely will be back Thank you for great service and great food So if your looking fir. Sushi Day is a fantastic little hole-in-the-wall gem. Don't be fooled by its unassuming location connected to a gas station, because the inside is surprisingly nice with beautifully decorated walls. It's a small spot with just a few tables, and parking can be tight, but there's usually street parking in the nearby residential area. The ordering process is simple: you check out the paper menu and order at the front register. They accept tap to pay, which is super convenient. Now for the important part: the food. The sushi was very good and the hand rolls were delicious. Everything we got was seriously yummy. Service was friendly and fast. Our table was a bit dirty when we sat down, but we asked and they wiped it down for us right away. I would absolutely go back to try more things from their menu. Definitely recommend!

Amazing as always!! The food, the service, and everything about fitness experience! From eating there or to go.... The food is always ON POINT. Seafood is super fresh EVERY TIME I come! The presentation is A1 and the quality and freshness of the seafood is also A1. Haven't had a bad experience ever, and I've been here over 100 times.... Best seafood in the area.... If you want to question me, I'd double down on that bet, with any sushi in the area, any time!! If you haven't tried their sushi, you're missing out. Ask them for the CESAR roll if you're a salmon lover. Not on the menu, but hands down an amazing roll if you've never had it!!! Hope this place is here forever!!!

Came here and was skeptical since connected to a grocery store. Took awhile to place our order as we stood there and waited. Not gonna lie got some weird stares too and especially while ordering! Food took over 30 minutes to come out as well and was not busy. Food was okay for me, not the best sashimi I've had in the bay, definitely better.

I've been here a handful of times now to make sure this review is as accurate as possible, and here's my verdict: Service: 5/5 Nothing overly flashy or mind-blowing, just solid, friendly, and attentive service every time. Really not much more you can ask for. Food: 5/5 Fresh-tasting fish, generous portions that will definitely fill you up, and impressive consistency every time my family and I have visited. Price: 5/5 This is where Sushi Town truly separates itself from other sushi spots. Everything on the menu is priced incredibly well. Usually when you see prices this affordable, the quality suffers and the fish tastes old, but not here. You can genuinely taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients. We usually order the Double Salmon Roll for under $12, and for around $15, you can get a premium bento box loaded with chicken, veggies, tempura, rice, and two thick cuts of sashimi. In this day and age, it's hard to beat the value, taste, and service that Sushi Town provides. As a community, we should continue to support this restaurant because it truly is a hidden gem!

The space is medium-sized, casual, and family-friendly. What gives it that established vibe? The regulars. You can tell this place has become part of the neighborhood routine. People clearly come here often and the staff knows them. Service is attentive and friendly without being overbearing. Traditional dine-in setup. Nothing fancy, just focused on good sushi at reasonable prices. What we ordered on this visit - Hamachi Kama - cooked perfectly, tender and moist with a solid dipping sauce - Corn baked roll - savory and comforting, topped with corn and a creamy sauce (exactly what it sounds like and better than expected) - Super Dragon Roll - generous potions like everything else here - Otoro and salmon nigiri - large cuts, good quality for the price FYI on Parking: Street parking can be tough, but there's a hidden lot behind the building. The place is refreshingly budget-friendly for decent quality sushi, and portions are generous. Not trying to be the fanciest spot on the bluck, just consistent and reliable. This is the kind of place where you can bring friends and family without breaking the bank or stressing about atmosphere. Good sushi, fair pries, friendly service...sometimes that's exactly what you need. I've been here a few times now and it's been worth adding to my regular rotation.

Although Taishoken is known for their tsukemen, I'll always opt for mazesoba if I see it on a menu. The mazesoba here is easily some of the best I've had in the Bay Area. The included piece of chashu is well-seasoned, fall apart tender and had a good balance of lean to fatty meat. The noodles are cooked to perfection and have a really nice chew to them. There is just the right amount of sauce in the dish, and the raw egg yolk adds a wonderful richness that coats each strand of noodle when mixed. Included with your mazesoba is a small side of vinegar. I would definitely recommend trying out the mixed mazesoba on its own -- without the vinegar, and adding in the vinegar about half-way in in order to try out a completely different flavor profile of the noodles. The acidity of the vinegar cuts through the richness and keeps you coming back for bite after bite. If you've never tried mazesoba before, I can't recommend it enough at Taishoken.
