There are some seats inside but I came here to grab a few banh mi to-go. I went closer to 5:00 PM and was lucky to see a small line at the time. For the pastrami banh mi, I added garlic butter (extra - $2), the "gold standard" for the toppings, and half pound. Since I was sharing, I decided to get a crispy pork belly banh mi with garlic butter and gold standard as well. The first thing I noticed right away was that both banh mi were HUGE. There was no question that the portion was shareable. When it came to the pastrami, this was honestly really good. In comparison, the pork belly was slightly underwhelming. It wasn't really that crispy versus other places that I've tried. Overall, if I had the craving, I think the Pastrami banh mi is worth revisiting. The spring rolls are very large and you can purchase them singly or in a group of three. You can customize them. Really nice Bahn Mi shop in the Glendora Marketplace. Ample free parking in the attached lot. Service was quick and friendly. Luckily not much of a line on a Monday at noon. Got their Pork BBQ Bahn Mi, with their standard recommended preparation, which was great. Their Pastrami Bahn Mi is fantastic. Half pound would be a regular meal for most, but if you have a huge appetite, the pound of meat would be recommended. This sandwich is quite pricy (18.99 for half, but a bit more than $30 for full pound). Viet coffee was good. Strong and not overly sweet, can't complain. Overhyped to be honest. Their baguette rolls used for the Banh Mi Sandwiches are crisp yet soft. Their green cilantro-tasting sauce is perfect for adding onto the sandwiches. I think each sandwich or the ones I've tried (The Basic, Grilled Chicken) need more veggies in them stat. I went on a Sunday around 2:45 PM. If you're impatient and hungry then I would say this place is not for you. Tom's Famous Pastrami: I got the pastrami bahn mi on original bread. You can choose between 1/2 lb or 1 lb of pastrami. You can have your bread as it is or you can add garlic butter for extra. They recommend sauces/toppings with it which they call the "Gold Standard." It comes with garlic aioli, pate, mustard, mustard seeds, cilantro, pickled carrots and daikon and pickled onions. If not feel free to choose your own toppings. I decided to get the "Gold Standard" because the sandwich wizards know the best and if they didn't why would they recommend it. Honestly the sandwich looked so good, but I expected more. I went in open minded because it's not a traditional bahn mi place, but a fusion. However, I started to get sus when I saw the "Gold Standard" they recommend to get with the sandwich. The recommended toppings came with two doses of mustard condiments and two pickled items. I thought it was a bit crazy for one single sandwich. Nevertheless I did not question their master making sandwich skills and went with what they recommended. Because who am I to question a sandwich master. Sadly future me would be disappointed. I ate the bahn mi and was fairly disappointed. The crazy double mustard and double pickled items messed me up and most of all it messed up all the flavor. I could only taste mustard and pickled juices between two crispy slices of baguette bread. My mouth was confused. I left the place sad and smelling sour. I got to give it to them though the items on their own were great. The meat was tender and juicy, but needed a bit more salt to be honest. Not my kind of bahn mi sandwich, but to each their own. I had also inquired about the "duck protein," but staff explained that they "got rid of duck" because it's seasonal. Similar to Subway, staff slid the sandwich down as they plopped the premade resting ingredients. The food took four minutes and 18 seconds. As mentioned, I disliked this Crispy Pork Belly Sandwich ($10.95). The protein tasted old, processed, & salty. It eventually overpowered all the other ingredients until all I tasted were mouthfuls of salt. However, there is some merit to Gold Banh (Glendora). The bread is unique and picturesque for a banh; that bread is comparable to a pizza dough's thin crust with a golden undercarriage. Next, the garlic sauce is prominent and addictive. Lastly, the wetness from its fresh vegetables attempts to bring a much needed balance to this dry meal. Unfortunately, it fails. Perhaps that one has more going for it, but to me that's not an ingredient in a cold cut, deli. Also tried the grilled pork and again, it was okay. They're solid sandwiches, but the bread had a lot of "chew" to it. I ate the whole sandwich my jaw was kind of tired from chewing. There was a decent line for a Wednesday night and it seemed to be moving, but it did seem to take longer to get our order. It's in Glendora Public Market so there's plenty of seating. I have been to Gold Banh (GB) three to four times within a two week period. I am hooked on their amazing sandwiches. I want to try all of them. GB is located inside the Glendora Public Market. It is adjacent to And Broth. Guess what? They are both owned by the same owner. What I love about GB is their fresh bread. It tastes and looks different compared to other Vietnamese sandwiches. It's so good! Each sandwich is made from scratch using the freshest ingredients right in front of you. Of course there is a big clear glass between you and them LOL. Besides their signature sandwiches, you may build your own vermicelli salad bowl or spring rolls. I have yet to try their bowl... maybe one day I will give them a try. I make my own spring rolls so I won't be trying theirs. =) I've tried these four sandwiches so far... 1. The Breakfast Sando (THICC Cut Spam with Fried Eggs) 2. Pork Belly Sandwich (Crispy Crackling Roasted Pork Belly) 3. Grilled Chicken Sandwich (Lemongrass Grilled Chicken) 4. Sai Gon Sandwich (Cold Cut, Char Siu, Grilled Pork, Jambon, & Pork Floss) If I had to rank them from best to not so great... 1. The Breakfast Sando takes home the GOLD (spam and eggs make such a great combo... SO GOOD!) 2. Pork Belly Sandwich gets the SILVER (pork belly could have been crispier) 3. Sai Gon Sandwich holds the BRONZE (too much meat in one... it was way too busy IMHO) 4. Unfortunately, Grilled Chicken Sandwich didn't make the cut (chicken + sauce didn't taste right). Staff was okay. Service was decent. Ambiance is cool. They have a rewards program, but you have to give them your phone number. I wished they would have told me sooner cause I've already spent some good moola before signing up LOL. All in all, I enjoyed their sandwiches very much. I wish they will bring back the duck at least for a limited time. Anyway, I'll be back to try their other great sandwich and bowl creations. Btw, garlic bread is basically a splash of garlic oil on top of the regular bread... it will cost you an extra $1. I wasn't informed that it will cost extra until after I saw the receipt. I don't think it's worth the extra money... I didn't taste any garlic whatsoever... all I got was a shiny bread. =( read more

Located inside the Glendora Public Market. Saw they had a grand opening so decided to check them out. A nice little area serving up a variety of Bánh mì, Salad Bowl, and Summer Rolls. You tell them what you want to order and they make it in front of you. They have a variety of meats to choose from. The item that caught my eyes was the Roasted Duck Bánh mì (The Sam Woo). I had roasted duck before, but never in a Bánh mì, so had to give that a try. It was so good! I highly recommend it. Since this is a food hall, the Ambiance is alright. What can you expect from a food hall, right? I have not try their summer rolls yet, might come back in the future. read more

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the line to this place was long! Obviously the most expensive sandwich we've ever paid for, $31 (half pound) with no drink. The sandwich was good but not sure if it was worth the cost. read more
