How have I missed this deliciousness until now?! Grass Valley can boast a lot of excellent baked goods and these are some of the finest I've tasted so far. I sampled the Cinnamon Honey Scone, a pastry with the texture of a scone and the flavor of a Snickerdoodle (but not overly sweet); also the peanut butter cup cookie, moist peanut butter cookie with chocolate and peanut butter; most impressive, the gluten free oatmeal cookie, deliciously moist and flavorful. Perfect place for a soft baked cookie! They have enough flavors to please everyone and great service as well. I suggest getting their Toffee Chip cookie, which was phenomenal. The lemon and snickerdoodle cookies were also very tasty. I also liked my cinnamon maple latte, and their drink menu seemed fairly large for a cookie shop. Food: Lemon Sunshine - Citrus-y flavor with the firm outside, yet soft and flavorful on the inside. Spicy Ginger - Strong ginger flavor with hints of Molasses. My favorite of the two. Great new cookie and coffee place in the heart of downtown Grass Valley! See todays receipt ( August 6). They are located on East Main Street with plenty of parking across the street. When you walk inside it smells sooo good..fresh baked cookies! They have an assortment of coffees as well. They have more than just cookies ( see my photos). I got a chocolate cookie and a 12 ounce coffee to go. I will have to fight over the cookie with my boyfriend! They have inside and outside areas to enjoy your sweets. Don't forget to try their babkas! The owners are friendly and the whole building inside has been completely redone and it looks and feels like a brand new place! Oh so delicious! These homemade cookies are so wonderful! They are made fresh daily with only the finest ingredients. Every cookie tastes fresh from the oven with just the right amount of crispiness on the outside and slight chewiness on the inside. My personal favorite is the ginger cookie. These cookies are delicious and so soft. We got the pumpkin, peanut butter, chocolate, peanut butter cup, ginger and oatmeal and all tasted fresh and homemade. I've been buying these cookies and chocolate babka almost weekly over the last couple years, from the Nevada City farmers market. (Shout out to the snickerdoodles and chocolate chip!) When I heard they had a new spot with breakfast and coffee options, I had to check it out. The breakfast sandwiches are made on freshly-baked biscuits which are AMAZING, with perfectly-seasoned eggs and melted cheese. They're so big that I saved half of mine; my willpower paid off later when I got to enjoy it for an afternoon snack. Can't wait to go back for more. Regarding pricing, everything is totally reasonable for the flavor and quality. These breakfast sandwiches would cost double at a sit-down restaurant. And the babka and cookies have made great gifts. Beyond the yummy food, Karen and Mark are super warm and friendly. Great customer service! If you're heading to Scott's Flat to be on the water or stage for mountain biking, this would be a perfect spot to fuel up. Only a few minutes drive from Grass Valley - and it's a beautiful one! The people were very friendly and answered questions.They were a fair size cookie. The biggest issue was they were all undercooked. They were cakey. Srike 1. The cinnamon was lacking on the snickerdoodle. Needed more toffee chips in the toffee cookie.(homemade toffee chips!) Strike 2. The peanut butter one was okay. The ginger cookie had the best flavor. For $2.50 a cookie, they should be outstanding and they should be right. I went back the next day and got cinnamon rolls, giving them another chance. The roll was cakey!!!
