I was uncertain as to whether I wanted to acquire a Subaru Impreza Sport Sedan, or the Legacy Sport Sedan, and visited Gold Rush Subaru to drive both. My Sales Consultant, Paul Lanza, had spoken with me previously regarding how I planned to use the vehicle, and suggested I drive an Impreza Sport Wagon first. I figured "What the heck, it'll give me a feel for the Impreza Sport engine and drive.", and drove the Wagon. I was very impressed with the vehicle's drive and pick-up, and when we got back to the lot, I said "Okay, now let's go drive the sedans.". But as I was talking, Paul lifted the hatch on the back of the Wagon, then dropped both of the back seats down to show how the Wagon could be deployed for hauling a lot of stuff. At that point, I said "Wait. I LIKE this a LOT." I went on to drive the Legacy, which drove as expected, but the Impreza Sport Wagon had already won the day. Paul then went on to get me a tremendous deal on the financials across the board. I even got what I was looking for on my trade-in. Bottom line, Paul helped guide me to the vehicle that best matched my application, and then got me a great deal on it. Win, win, win. And during the process, my wife spent about half the time sitting in the BRZ in the showroom, saying "Vroom, vroom". Karen Hyland, the finance manager, seemed nice, but turned out to be completely dishonest in everything she said, what she sold, and how she sold it. I would never send anyone to this dealer based on her bold faced lies. She was a very good lier but seemed so honest. A few examples, she said that $895 GAP insurance was required by the lender and not optional, even after I pressed the issue (I was pretty sure that this was not legal). As it turns out, this is not legal. She also presented a warranty with a $100 deductible, without presenting the deductible. When I asked, she admitted to the deductible. I asked what the cost was for the same warranty without any deductible. It turned out to be a few hundred dollars more at $1995. We decided on the 0 deductible and were charged for it. When the paperwork came, she had actually sold us the $100 deductible warranty for the higher price. Just the two biggest examples that we caught. read more

Even if you're near one of the other dealerships in Roseville or Sacramento, Gold Rush Subaru in Auburn is well worth the drive out and your time. They will absolutely take care of you. Excellent customer service, and a super friendly staff make this the go-to dealership for your Subaru needs. They also have a Chevrolet dealership just down the road, so if you're also in the market for a Chevy, go check them out! Paul Lanza always makes sure I get what "I WANT" and keeps me out of hot water. Then if it makes sense; meaning I am not losing money on my trade or getting in over my head (what car salesman ever did that for you?) Jim Sturgis cuts off the fat and gives me the best no pressure no haggle price on earth. Then there's James Woolley who always goes the extra mile to make sure I get the best financing available. Very sadly, my hardworking daughter took her Subaru Outback which she purchased from Gold Rush Subaru in for a repair estimate and the service department scared her and intimidated her by saying that the repair would cost up to $5,000.00 and wouldn't be covered by the warranty. She just bought the car this summer!!! Luckily, she was smart enough to get a second opinion. Gold Rush had given her false information and tried to take advantage of her!!! Shame on you!!! We are a Subaru family and will make sure that we DO NOT EVER recommend Gold Rush Subaru to family or friends. We will take our business elsewhere in the future. My wife and I purchased a new subaru outback about a month ago (when they offered the 0% financing) and had a great experience!! The sales person and manager did not try to pressure us into buying a higher end model, were patient (we were there after it was technically closed), and worked with us in offering us a competitive price. We were not able to find a lower price in Sacramento. They also gave us a good trade in in for our used subaru outback. We would definitely go back there and buy another car.
